- Billionaire’s Journey into the Beast World, Suitors Compete to Be Fed by Her!
- Chapter 79 - The Fourth Feeding Target Appears
Mi Yue and Claude stood back-to-back, cautiously facing the restless horde of magical beasts surrounding them.
A winged beast was the first to charge at them. With lightning reflexes, Claude transformed into his lion form, clamping his jaws around the creature’s neck and flinging it against a nearby tree.
Claude then showcased his agile movements and astonishing strength, weaving effortlessly through the swarm of beasts as he shielded Mi Yue.
However, the sheer number of beasts and their coordinated teamwork soon overwhelmed the two, forcing them apart.
Amid the chaos, Claude fought his way through, carving a bloody path. But when he finally stopped to look around, Mi Yue was nowhere to be seen.
His heart sank to the depths, an unprecedented wave of panic surging through him.
Meanwhile, Mi Yue was swept into a deep underground cavern by an immense force.
Darkness enveloped her instantly, with only the faint glow from her system to guide her. She quickly retrieved a flashlight from her system space, illuminating her surroundings.
The cavern was vast, its rough, damp walls glistening faintly in the dim light.
“System, where am I?” Mi Yue asked urgently.
[Host, you are currently in an unknown cavern deep within the Beast Forest. Please remain calm and find an exit as soon as possible.] The system replied coolly.
Taking a deep breath, Mi Yue tried to steady her racing heart. She carefully scanned the area with her flashlight, searching for any clues that might lead her out.
Yet the cavern was far larger than she had anticipated. After walking for what felt like ages, she still hadn’t found an exit.
Just then, the system’s voice chimed in again.
[Host, please be advised, Claude’s emotional state is highly unstable. Immediate reassurance is recommended.]
Mi Yue’s chest tightened at the words. She swiftly pulled out her phone to message Claude.
Mi Yue: Claude, I’m fine and safe. Take the antidote back to Xiu Ka first. Don’t worry about me, I’ll return to Lion City soon and regroup with you all.
After sending the message, she tucked her phone away and continued exploring the cavern.
On the other side, Claude heard Mi Yue’s voice but saw no sign of her. Remembering her abilities as a shaman and the strange lightning power she wielded, he reluctantly agreed to deliver the antidote first before returning to search for her.
Elsewhere, the giant serpent, Elfman, observed everything with a complicated gleam in his eyes.
He had developed a deep curiosity and interest in Mi Yue.
Deep within the dim cavern, only a sliver of weak light seeped through a crack in the ceiling, casting mottled patches on the ground, offering a faint, almost imperceptible warmth to the enclosed space.
Exhausted from her pregnancy, Mi Yue curled up in a corner, weariness and resignation etched across her delicate features.
In her hand, she clutched a small lighter, her only comfort at the moment.
“System, this damned place doesn’t even have decent firewood. Am I going to freeze to death here?”
[Host, there is some firewood. You can keep looking.]
With a crisp click, a flame flickered to life, casting light on Mi Yue’s delicate face.
Carefully, she gathered some dry twigs and leaves, assembling a makeshift fire.
Bathed in the firelight, her figure appeared both lonely and resilient.
“I’m so hungry… Good thing I stocked up on food in my system space.”
Muttering to herself, Mi Yue pulled out a pack of instant noodles from her inventory.
A pregnant woman must not let the child in her womb go hungry.
She gently touched her slightly rounded belly, a swirl of complex emotions rising in her heart.
Soon, the water began to bubble vigorously, and the rich aroma of instant noodles instantly filled the entire cave.
A faint smile curled at the corners of Mi Yue’s lips as she prepared to enjoy this rare “feast.”
Suddenly, a gust of wind swept past, and the cup of noodles in her hand vanished without a trace.
“What was that?” Had she imagined it?
Mi Yue gasped, scanning her surroundings, but there was no one in sight, only the flickering firelight that seemed to mock her helplessness.
“System, is there… a ghost here?” Her voice trembled slightly, her eyes too afraid to look around again.
[Host, rest assured. The Beast World has no ghosts. Your food was taken by the fourth feeding target.]
The system’s voice was calm and objective, soothing Mi Yue’s nerves.
Mi Yue felt a mix of shock and speechlessness.
“The fourth feeding target? Already?”
But judging by the situation, this fourth feeding target seemed a bit tsundere, unlikely to show itself easily.
Still, she had a plan. She took out two more cups of noodles, this time adding a few slices of ham sausage for good measure.
“Since you like it, this one’s for you. But please don’t snatch mine again.” Mi Yue whispered to the air, as if speaking to an invisible companion.
To her surprise, this time, the noodles weren’t stolen. The other cup simply sat there quietly, as if giving her a silent response.
Mi Yue sighed in relief. After quickly finishing her own portion, she began discreetly observing this mysterious “feeding target.”
She noticed that whenever she tried offering something novel, like an apple, it would be accepted immediately.
But foods requiring minimal preparation, like bread or cake, would be tossed back untouched.
“Seems like this guy isn’t just greedy, he’s picky too.”
Mi Yue pondered silently, deciding to use this to lure him out.
So, she deliberately tore open a piece of bread, revealing the sweet filling inside, and placed it in a conspicuous spot. Then she pretended to rest while secretly keeping watch.
Before long, a faint rustling broke the cave’s silence.
A massive purple serpent slowly emerged from the shadows, its cold red eyes gleaming under the firelight.
[Fourth feeding target unlocked: Snake Beast, Elfman, Purple-tier strength. Hobby: Eating.]
“Another Purple-tier! Are they just everywhere now?”
Elfman merely studied Mi Yue with his sharp gaze, as if assessing whether she’d make a good meal.
“Do you… like this food?”
Mi Yue held up the food, trying to establish some form of communication.
Elfman slowly shifted into human form, his voice deep and magnetic.
“Hmm, not bad. Though I wonder, are they tastier, or are you?”
His red eyes roamed over her, two sharp fangs glinting at the corners of his lips.
Mi Yue’s breath hitched, she felt like a fish on a chopping block.
“O-of course the food is better! You just tried it, didn’t you?”
“Then you’ll bring me offerings like this every day. Otherwise, I’ll eat you instead.”
Elfman’s crimson vertical pupils glowed ominously in the dim cave.
Mi Yue rolled her eyes, feigning a troubled expression. “But these are all the provisions I brought from Lion City, and I don’t have much left on me.”
Elfman’s gaze instantly turned icy. “Do you really expect me to believe that? These things don’t even exist in Lion City.”
His tone carried a hint of anger, clearly unwilling to be deceived.
“You won’t leave this place, and don’t even think about lying to me.”
Though his voice remained cold, Mi Yue detected a subtle, almost imperceptible softening in his words.
“Don’t worry, I have no plans to leave for now.”
Mi Yue replied with a smile, though inwardly, she was already calculating how to deepen her connection with this formidable figure she had chosen to feed.
As time passed, the relationship between Mi Yue and Elfman gradually took on a delicate nuance.
