- Billionaire’s Journey into the Beast World, Suitors Compete to Be Fed by Her!
- Chapter 76 - Vasali's Escape
Mi Yue immediately stood up to confront Vasali, only to find that she had already fled.
“It’s all your fault. She’s your sister, and she’s become like this because you spoiled her.” Mi Yue angrily accused Claude, her eyes glistening with tears as a mix of fury and helplessness churned within her.
Claude didn’t argue. He silently bore Mi Yue’s accusations, knowing full well that this was all his fault.
If only he had realized sooner that Vasali had gone astray. If only he had stopped her from doing such things earlier, none of this would have happened.
But what was done could not be undone.
Claude could only pray silently that Xiu Ka would survive this crisis and that he could find Vasali to force her to hand over the antidote.
As for Mi Yue, she couldn’t bear to stay a moment longer.
Her heart was consumed with worry over the poison coursing through Xiu Ka’s body.
Now, there were only two ways to cure him: first, find Vasali and force her to surrender the antidote; second, return to the modern world and see if modern medicine could analyze the poison in Xiu Ka’s system.
Mi Yue sat gently by the bedside, her eyes filled with heartache and reluctance.
She tenderly stroked Xiu Ka’s weary face, her voice choked with emotion. “Xiu Ka, you’ve suffered so much these past days. Why didn’t you tell me when something like this happened?”
Xiu Ka smiled faintly, his expression carrying both determination and deep affection. “Yue, as long as it’s for you, nothing I do feels like suffering. As long as you’re safe and well, nothing else matters to me.”
Mi Yue’s eyes reddened slightly as she took a deep breath.
“I might have a way to help you detoxify the poison, but I’ll need your blood… and I’ll have to leave for a few days.”
Her voice carried a hint of hesitation, worried that her departure might unsettle Xiu Ka.
Xiu Ka knew Mi Yue had her own secrets, but he didn’t hesitate for even a second before nodding in agreement.
“Yue, whatever you need, if I can give it, I will. My blood is nothing to me.”
Though he didn’t understand why Mi Yue needed his blood, he chose to trust her unconditionally.
Mi Yue was deeply moved, gazing at him intently as tears shimmered in her eyes.
“But this is just an attempt… it might not work.”
Xiu Ka gently grasped her hand, offering her his firmest support. “I believe in you, Yue. You always work miracles. Whatever the outcome, I’ll accept it.”
And so, with mutual trust and support, Mi Yue carefully drew a small sample of Xiu Ka’s blood.
In her heart, she swore she would find the antidote, no matter what.
Meanwhile, Xiu Ka lay quietly, a blissful smile on his face.
As if all his pain had flowed away with that vial of blood, as if everything at this moment was enough to make him content.
Back in the modern world, Mi Yue stood outside the hospital, clutching the blood sample that held Xiu Ka’s uncertain fate.
Time was tight, she only had three days to find a cure.
Pushing open the hospital doors, the scent of disinfectant washed over her, yet it strangely brought her a sense of comfort.
She rushed straight to the director’s office, her urgent voice ringing out before the door even closed behind her.
“Director, my friend has been poisoned. Please analyze this blood sample as quickly as possible. I only have three days, if I don’t find the antidote, he’ll die!”
The director took the blood sample himself and rushed it to the lab for urgent processing.
Watching Mi Yue standing anxiously outside the glass window, he spoke up to reassure her. “Ms. Mi, the situation is urgent, but there are countless types of poisons, and analysis takes time. However, I can try contacting some experts in toxicology to see if they have any solutions.”
“That’s wonderful. Thank you.”
A glimmer of hope flashed in Mi Yue’s eyes, only to dim again. “But we only have three days. I’m afraid…”
“Ms. Mi, we’ll do our best,” the director added. “Perhaps you could ask Mr. Xiangyang for help. He’s found many doctors for you before, he might have resources in this area.”
At the mention of Li Xiangyang, a wave of complicated emotions surged in Mi Yue’s heart.
She hadn’t contacted Li Xiangyang in a long time, and she was afraid he would ask too many questions, questions she couldn’t easily answer.
But thinking of Xiu Ka, who was still waiting for her, she mustered the courage to seek his help.
Taking a deep breath, she pulled out her phone and dialed the familiar number.
On the other end, Li Xiangyang’s voice was warm and concerned. “What’s wrong, Miss?”
“Brother Xiangyang, I need you to find me an expert in toxicology, the sooner, the better.”
Mi Yue tried to keep her voice steady, but the urgency in her tone betrayed her emotions.
“Poisoning? Who? Are you okay?” Li Xiangyang’s tone instantly grew tense.
“It’s not me. It’s… a friend,” Mi Yue hesitated but chose to conceal the truth. “He’s been poisoned, and his condition is critical.”
“Alright, I understand. I’ll start reaching out right away.”
Without hesitation or further questions, Li Xiangyang agreed immediately. After hanging up, he began mobilizing his connections and resources to find a poison expert.
In less than half an hour, Li Xiangyang appeared in the hospital lobby.
Rushing in, his eyes immediately found Mi Yue standing at the end of the corridor.
Under the bright lights, her figure looked especially frail, and his heart clenched involuntarily.
“Miss, I’m here.”
He strode forward, scrutinizing Mi Yue from head to toe, only relaxing once he confirmed she was unharmed. “You look exhausted. Go rest, I’ll keep watch here for you.”
Mi Yue forced a faint smile. “I’m fine. I want to know the results as soon as possible.”
Li Xiangyang’s gaze suddenly fell on Mi Yue’s slightly protruding abdomen, and his expression instantly darkened.
“Mi Yue, are you… pregnant?” His voice carried a note of disbelief.
Mi Yue instinctively covered her stomach, her eyes flickering with guilt.
She didn’t know how to explain the origin of this child and could only respond with silence.
Li Xiangyang’s handsome face turned icy, his eyes sharp. “Miss, this is a hospital. It’s easy to confirm whether you’re pregnant.”
Realizing she couldn’t feign ignorance, Mi Yue nodded silently.
“Is it Xing Chi’s?”
Li Xiangyang’s voice was low and hoarse. He had already guessed the answer but couldn’t help asking.
“Yes.”
A trace of anger seeped into Li Xiangyang’s tone.
Li Xiangyang’s anger flared even hotter. “He went on a trip? What are his plans now that you’re pregnant? When does he intend to get married?”
“He… he…” Mi Yue stammered, at a loss for words.
Li Xiangyang shot to his feet, his voice sharp with accusation. “Did he run away? Is he trying to shirk responsibility?”
