- Chapter 30 - I Really Want You to Be My Little Mate Right Now
“You’re hurting me.”
“Xing Chi, let me go!”
No matter how Mi Yue shouted, Xing Chi didn’t release her hand until they returned to the room.
Mi Yue looked at her reddened wrist, furious, and sat on the stump stool, turning her head away in silence.
Xing Chi took several deep breaths to calm himself, his deep blue eyes smoldering with suppressed anger.
He crouched down, took Mi Yue’s reddened wrist, and gently blew on it, his voice hoarse. “I didn’t mean to. I just didn’t want to see you smile at him.”
“Seeing you smile at him made me feel terrible.”
His cold, rough thumb stroked Mi Yue’s slender wrist, his gaze filled with unconcealed desire. “I really want you to be my little mate right now.”
The blazing heat in his eyes scorched Mi Yue’s heart. She instinctively pulled her hand back and whispered, “I… I’m not of age yet.”
Xing Chi sighed and raised his large hand to ruffle her soft hair. “Don’t worry, I’ll wait until you come of age.”
Mi Yue sighed in relief and tentatively spoke again. “Don’t be angry with Xiu Ka. He’s very important to me. I want you two to get along.” Most importantly, don’t interfere with my gratitude points and merit accumulation.
Xing Chi’s expression, which had just softened, instantly frosted over again. “Is he really that indispensable?”
Deep down, he knew his little mate couldn’t have only him as a partner, but accepting a Yellow-tier male, one inferior to him, as her mate still left him unwilling.
Mi Yue nodded guiltily. “Yes.”
Rage surged in Xing Chi’s heart, but he forced it down.
“Fine. But I demand to be your First Beast-Husband!”
If he couldn’t be the only one, then he would settle for being the first!
Meanwhile, in the stone house’s dining hall, the atmosphere had turned tense after Xing Chi’s abrupt departure.
Ma Qi, the youngest son of Bu Tai, was the first to voice his displeasure, slamming his roasted meat onto the table.
“It’s all your fault! If it weren’t for you, Lord Xing Chi wouldn’t have left. We finally had a chance to ask him for advice on improving our strength, and now you’ve driven him away!”
His short legs stomped over to Xiu Ka, and his tiny fists rained down.
Already a Green-tier warrior, Ma Qi didn’t hold back. Two punches were enough to send Xiu Ka tumbling off the stump stool.
“You’re the worst!” Ma Qi’s face flushed red with anger.
Wu Er gasped in shock.
The eldest brother, Ya Ge, frowned and walked over, bending down to pick Ma Qi up, soothing him gently. “Alright, don’t be angry. Lord Xing Chi will be staying with us for a while. There will be other chances to ask for his guidance.”
“Big brother, is that true?”
Ya Ge pinched Ma Qi’s nose. “Of course. When have I ever lied to you?”
Xiu Ka sat on the ground in disarray, watching the affectionate scene between the brothers with bitterness.
These should have been my brothers too.
Ma Ya’s expression was equally displeased. “What a mood killer. Take the food back to your rooms. I don’t want to see any of you.”
Wu Er’s eyes reddened as he helped Xiu Ka up, and the two trudged back to their room in dejection.
The system detected Xiu Ka’s depressed mood and urgently required comfort.
So, after much persuasion and even sacrificing a kiss, Mi Yue finally convinced Xing Chi to let her go find Xiu Ka.
When she saw the small stone hut where Xiu Ka and Wu Er lived, she felt, for the first time, that there really were mothers in this world who didn’t love their own children.
With a sigh, she pushed open the door.
In the dimly lit room, Xiu Ka sat huddled alone in the corner, with no sign of Wu Er anywhere.
Mi Yue slowly approached and crouched beside Xiu Ka, gently patting his stiff shoulder. (Xiu Ka, I brought you some bread and milk. You should eat a little.)
She had already learned through the system what had happened after she left the dining hall.
Xiu Ka raised his head, his eyes brimming with sorrow, like a pitiful abandoned dog.
She reached out and ruffled his hair. (Xiu Ka, don’t grieve over people who aren’t worth it. They’re just strangers tied to you by blood.) Just like the second uncle of the Mi family and her.
“But why did she abandon me…?”
“She was my mother too.”
Hot tears fell onto Mi Yue’s hand, and her heart twisted with a sharp pang.
“Just because I’m only Yellow Rank, inferior to Ma Qi’s innate Green Rank, I deserve to be cast aside?”
“She sees me as a disgrace, why?!”
Xiu Ka’s eyes turned bloodshot as he spiraled into madness. Mi Yue’s breath hitched, and she instinctively tried to pull back, but he yanked her into his embrace.
His iron-like arms locked around her waist, as if threatening to snap her in half. Mi Yue struggled. (Let me go, Xiu Ka! You’re hurting me!)
But Xiu Ka was beyond reason now, deaf to her pleas.
With no other choice, Mi Yue bit down hard on his shoulder, hoping the pain would snap him out of it.
Half a quarter later, Xiu Ka finally calmed down. His lips brushed faintly against the delicate skin of her neck, leaving the ghost of a kiss.
Mi Yue touched her neck, wondering if she had imagined it.
(Xiu Ka, if you don’t want to stay here, we can find a place outside.)
Xing Chi had given her the storage bag along with everything inside. She had checked, there were still two green crystal beads, enough to buy a stone house in Tiger City.
The four of them could squeeze in together.
Xiu Ka shook his head. “I want to see for myself.” To see if his mother was truly so heartless, if she felt no remorse at all for abandoning him back then.
(Alright, but if anything happens, you have to tell me. I’ll help you.)
Xiu Ka grasped Mi Yue’s hand, his gaze tender yet intense. “I only ask that you don’t leave me, don’t abandon me.” Otherwise, I’d lose my mind.
He didn’t dare say the rest, afraid of frightening Shaman Yue, afraid she’d distance herself or even come to despise him if she knew his true feelings.

After comforting Xiu Ka a while longer, Mi Yue finally left. By then, the sky had darkened completely.
A few bonfires flickered along the stone corridor, casting just enough light to see by.
As she reached the resting quarters, she heard Xing Chi’s furious voice. “Get the hell out! Your ugly face is hurting my eyes!”
Tribeg! A stone bowl flew out of the room, followed by a plump little female who dashed past Mi Yue, deliberately shoving her before running off with a disdainful snort.
“What happened?”
Xing Chi’s anger hadn’t subsided. He kept scrubbing his muscular chest with animal hide, as if trying to erase something.
“Disgusting. Filthy.”
“I need a bath. I need to soak!”
Mi Yue couldn’t help but laugh at his dramatic reaction. “Did she touch you?”
The moment she said it, Xing Chi’s deep blue eyes turned icy, as if frozen over.
He strode forward angrily and said, “Take me to that world. I want to soak in the swimming pool, I can’t stand it anymore.”
“And I want seafood, salmon, steamed egg with sea urchin. You promised me before.”
Before Mi Yue could voice her refusal, Xing Chi cut off all her escape routes.
Mi Yue sighed and reluctantly agreed. “I can take you back, but you have to promise me two conditions.”
Xing Chi said, “Go on.”
“First…”
