- Billionaire’s Journey into the Beast World, Suitors Compete to Be Fed by Her!
- Chapter 31 - Do You Like Me Just a Little?
“First, you can’t shift into your beast form at will. You must not expose your beastman identity.”
“Second, wear clothes and speak less, ideally, not at all.”
Xing Chi raised a playful eyebrow. “Yue, that sounds like more than two rules.”
Mi Yue lifted her chin haughtily and snorted. “Hmph, who cares what you think?”
Xing Chi chuckled helplessly. What could he do when his little mate was being unreasonable? He could only spoil her.
The first time they crossed over, Xing Chi had been unconscious. This time, he remained awake, but the transition happened in an instant, he still didn’t understand how it worked.
A flash of white light, and when he opened his eyes again, they were back in the familiar yet unfamiliar hillside villa.
The villa was equipped with smart lighting, which automatically turned on upon sensing their presence.
Mi Yue glanced at the clock in the living room, it was only 8 PM, and the mall was still open.
“Yue, I’m going for a swim. Remember to get me some seafood,” Xing Chi said excitedly before heading toward the backyard garden.
Exhausted, Mi Yue ordered seafood from the same restaurant as before and went upstairs to soak in the bathtub, relaxing while thinking about how to earn crystal pearls.
Half an hour later, the villa’s landline rang. Wrapped in a duck-patterned towel, Mi Yue answered.
“Hello, Miss Mi. This is Chen Jinshui from the hillside villa security office. There’s someone at the gate delivering seafood for you.” She recognized the voice of the security captain.
“Ah, yes, that’s my order. Just have them leave it at the villa entrance. I’ll pick it up myself later.”
After hanging up, she opened WeChat and transferred the payment to the restaurant manager, including an extra 500 yuan as a tip.
Standing on the villa’s second floor, Mi Yue looked down through the five-meter-tall floor-to-ceiling windows at the 20-square-meter outdoor swimming pool in the backyard.
Solar-powered lights surrounded the pool, casting a soft, atmospheric glow.
Splash!
Xing Chi, bare-chested with a stunning blue tail trailing behind him, swam freely through the water.
Mi Yue dried her hair while admiring his unparalleled tail, but soon, she noticed something was wrong.
Xing Chi had been submerged for over ten minutes. After some initial splashing, there had been no movement.
Her heart lurched, was he drowning?
Panicked, she didn’t even bother to dress properly, just tightened the towel around herself and rushed downstairs to the backyard.
“Xing Chi! Xing Chi!” She called out from the pool’s edge, but there was no response.
Sweat beaded on her forehead. Gritting her teeth, she took a deep breath and plunged into the water, diving down to rescue him.
But before her hand could reach the dark figure, a strong, firm grip seized her wrist.
Her eyes widened in shock, he was fine! He had tricked her!
Furious, she kicked him twice and tried to swim back up, but he held her ankle tightly, dragging her deeper into the pool.
She struggled but couldn’t break free as Xing Chi pulled her further down.
Gulp!
A bubble escaped in the water.
Mi Yue covered her mouth, she was running out of air.
Seeing her distress, Xing Chi wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close.
His cool lips pressed against her soft pink ones, slowly transferring oxygen to her.
The suffocating lack of air eased, but Mi Yue was still angry. She pounded her fists against his shoulders, her wide almond eyes blazing with fury.
Xing Chi smirked, his tail gently coiling around her petite frame as he slowly swam them back to the surface.
Splash!
The moment she broke through the water’s surface, Mi Yue began gasping frantically for air.
“You liar, I’m never talking to you again,” she said, releasing Xing Chi’s shoulders and swimming toward the pool ladder.
Xing Chi didn’t let her go. His ice-blue hair clung wetly to his face, and droplets fell onto Mi Yue’s shoulders. A breeze swept past, sending a shiver down her spine.
“Yue, you were worried about me.”
“Did you forget I’m a sea beast?”
“Do you… like me, even just a little?” Xing Chi pressed her against the edge of the pool, his voice hoarse as he shamelessly asked.
Mi Yue scoffed. “Not anymore!”
“Yue, I’m happy.” Xing Chi carried her out of the pool, his beautiful blue tail transforming into long, slender legs the moment they left the water.
Holding her gently, he walked to the lounge chairs by the pool, grabbed a towel, and carefully dried her off.
As he wiped her down, he couldn’t resist occasionally touching her cheeks, her hands, and…
Mi Yue snatched the towel away, crossing her arms over her chest. “Get lost, you pervert.”
Xing Chi chuckled. “Don’t be shy, Yue. You’re beautiful, it’s natural to attract males. There’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
“Attract my foot! The seafood delivery’s here, go get it,” Mi Yue snapped, glaring at him.
In high spirits, Xing Chi strode bare-chested toward the door.
Mi Yue jumped up from behind, grabbed a robe from the lounge chair, and threw it at him. “Have some shame! Put some clothes on!”
She was a proper young lady from a wealthy family, yet here she was, reduced to cursing. Unbelievable.
At the entrance of the hillside villa, several large bags sat by the door, the fresh scent of fish and shrimp wafting from them.
Xing Chi sniffed the air and patted his flat stomach. Finally, seafood again.
The villa’s gate was equipped with a smart lock that only opened with fingerprint verification. Xing Chi’s prints had been registered on the very first day.
Mimicking Mi Yue’s actions, he placed his index finger on the scanner. A soft ding sounded, and the gate slowly swung open.
Before he could step forward, a leg clad in black trousers stepped inside.
Xing Chi’s handsome face instantly darkened, his deep blue eyes locking onto the figure strolling in.
“Miss Mi, I’m Chen Jinshui. These things are too heavy, I brought them in for you.”
Chen Jinshui craned his neck, peering around, but the lovely figure he hoped to see was nowhere in sight.
“Put them down,” a cold voice commanded, startling Chen Jinshui into a shiver.
He turned and saw a tall man wrapped in a white bathrobe standing by the door.
There was a man in the villa!
Panicked, Chen Jinshui abandoned any ulterior thoughts he might have had.
He quickly set the bags down and bowed with an ingratiating smile. “My apologies, sir. I was out of line. I just wanted to make sure Miss Mi was safe getting her delivery. Since you’re here, I’ll take my leave.”
Without waiting for a response, he scurried away like a frightened rat.
Xing Chi watched his retreating figure with disgust before picking up the bags and returning inside.
By then, Mi Yue had dried off and changed into clean pajamas.
Noticing Xing Chi’s foul mood, she asked, “What’s wrong? Doesn’t the seafood suit your taste?”
Xing Chi plopped onto the sofa, his voice icy. “Are all the males around here this unruly? Just barging into someone else’s territory without permission?”
“What do you mean? Did you run into someone at the gate?”
“Hmm, a stinky male dressed all in black.” Actually, he wasn’t sure if that person was male, they had the appearance and characteristics of a male, but their aura was faint, unlike that of a beastkin male.
“That’s a security guard, responsible for protecting the villa. He was probably just delivering takeout.” Mi Yue let out a relieved sigh, brushing it off.
Xing Chi still felt uneasy but didn’t know how to voice it, so he just kept his head down and ate his seafood.
Even with Mi Yue’s explanation, Xing Chi remained wary of this so-called security captain, already plotting how to probe deeper into the other’s background next time.
