- Billionaire’s Journey into the Beast World, Suitors Compete to Be Fed by Her!
- Chapter 11 - Forced Love is Not Sweet
With the additional income from wild wolf meat, the members of the Tiger Tribe were no longer as resistant to the idea of migration.
Everyone looked forward with hope, dreaming of finding a suitable place in the south to establish a new Tiger Tribe.
Mi Yue occasionally fed Xiu Ka, raising him to be plump and fair-skinned. In just over a month, he had grown half a head taller, and his handsome features had gradually become more pronounced.
With such a good-looking face, even she couldn’t help but feel moved. The young females who had once scorned Xiu Ka now turned around, sending signals that they were willing to partner with him.
One morning, Mi Yue returned from the modern world to the campsite, carrying some fruit she had bought, and headed toward Xiu Ka’s tent.
Before she could reach it, she spotted two figures standing in front of the tent, deep in conversation.
Thanks to the enhancement from her gratitude points, Mi Yue’s hearing had improved. Even from a distance, she could make out their words.
A young female with dusky skin gazed shyly at the tall, upright male before her. “Xiu Ka, I like you. Would you be willing to partner with me?”
“I can let you bring Wu Er into my family. I won’t look down on him.”
Xiu Ka sneered inwardly. The very fact that she said this proved she already looked down on Wu Er.
After the wild wolf attack, most of the young females in the tribe had chosen new male partners, not for love, but simply to ensure their safety during the migration.
Such a loveless union was not what he wanted.
If they chose to partner with him now for safety, they would just as easily dissolve the partnership later for the same reason.
If he was going to be abandoned sooner or later, it was better never to have had it at all.
He refused to be the one who could be cast aside at any moment!
“I’m sorry, but I have no plans to partner with anyone at the moment.”
This was a polite refusal.
Hearing Xiu Ka’s words, the young female’s eyes reddened. “I only have two partners. I’m scared… during the migration…”
“There are still many single males in the tribe. Plenty would be willing to partner with you.”
“But I don’t like any of them. Xiu Ka, I only like you.”
Faced with the young female’s passionate confession, Xiu Ka’s expression remained indifferent.
His cold tone and merciless rejection made Mi Yue click her tongue in amazement.
So ruthless.
Xiu Ka ignored the tears welling up in the young female’s eyes. Instead, he looked straight ahead and spotted Mi Yue eavesdropping in the distance.
Seeing her eyes sparkling with amusement as she watched the drama unfold, his expression darkened.
The young female’s soft sobs only irritated him further, and his voice turned icy.
“I don’t like you, and I won’t partner with you. Please leave, I need to prepare breakfast.”
The young female’s face flushed crimson with embarrassment. She stamped her foot, covered her face, and ran off.
Mi Yue watched her flee and sighed. Why bother? Where was this enthusiasm before?
Xiu Ka glanced at the petite figure in the distance out of the corner of his eye before turning to start the fire and roast the meat.
Mi Yue shrugged, unfazed.
As usual, that morning, Mi Yue shared a piece of bread with Xiu Ka and his grandfather, enjoying a delicious meal of roasted meat wrapped in bread.
After eating, she took a few red apples from her animal-skin bag and handed one to each of them.
Lately, everyone had been eating too much roasted meat, which had caused some internal heat. The prolonged lack of vitamins wasn’t good for their health, so she decided to add fruit to their daily meals.
“These fruits look so fresh. Maybe we should give them to the chief’s daughter instead. I… I don’t need one.”
Wu Er was the typical “nice guy” of the beast world, adhering to the principle of always being good to young females. Whenever he came across something valuable, his first thought was to give it to them.
Mi Yue’s willow-leaf brows furrowed slightly. She didn’t like Wu Er’s way of thinking.
(Giving things to them is like feeding dogs, what on earth is going through his mind?)
(They don’t even care if he lives or dies, yet he still goes out of his way to please them? What’s the point? He should be pleasing me instead!!!)
She angrily took a bite of the apple in her hand, producing a crisp crunch.
Xiu Ka noticed her expression and took the red apple from his grandfather’s hand, biting into it.
“If you won’t eat it, I will. I won’t let good things go to waste on others, and I won’t let you do it either.” He didn’t like his grandfather’s overly generous nature either.
Wu Er finally realized that the items had been provided by Shaman Yue, he had no right to use them to curry favor with others.
Looking at Shaman Yue’s expression, though it remained calm, the corners of her lips, usually slightly upturned, now drooped ever so slightly.
“Shaman Yue, I didn’t think this through properly. Please forgive me.” Wu Er’s murky eyes held a trace of apology.
Wu Er was overly kind, but his heart was in the right place. Mi Yue simply waved her hand, signaling her forgiveness.
…
“Xiu Ka, how dare you reject Lan Di? You don’t know what’s good for you!”
“If you know what’s best, leave your grandfather behind and pair up with our sister. Otherwise, face the consequences!”
Three tall, burly males cracked their knuckles as they approached. Their strikingly similar features made it obvious they were related by blood.
Beside them stood Lan Di, the yellow-furred young female who had just confessed. Upon closer inspection, she bore some resemblance to the three males as well.
Lan Di frowned with worry but didn’t stop her brothers from “settling the score.”
“I won’t abandon my grandfather, and I won’t pair up with her!” Xiu Ka stuffed the apple into his mouth, swallowing it whole before standing up slowly.
“Hah! In that case, don’t blame us for being ruthless.”
“Xiu Ka, I challenge you.”
“I’ll fight you too.”
“And me!”
The three males clenched their fists, their brown eyes narrowing into vertical slits.
“So, if I defeat all of you, you’ll stop bothering me?” Xiu Ka’s sharp brows tightened, his tone turning colder.
“Hah, such arrogance.” The three males exchanged smirks before simultaneously lunging at Xiu Ka.
Mi Yue was stunned. They’re jumping straight into a fight? Isn’t this a bit rash?
And with three against one, Xiu Ka was clearly at a disadvantage.
She grew anxious, wanting to step in and stop them. (What’s the point of fighting? If his health drops, I’ll be the one who has to heal him!)
Xiu Ka was busy fending off the males’ attacks and couldn’t quite make out Mi Yue’s thoughts, but he knew she disliked him fighting.
However, if this matter wasn’t settled through combat, other young females might follow suit. It was better to fight once and deter anyone with ill intentions.
Wu Er looked tense but not overly worried. “Don’t worry, they’re no match for Xiu Ka.” These were just newly advanced Yellow-tier tiger-beasts, how could they compare to Xiu Ka, who was born with Yellow-tier strength?
There was a qualitative difference even within the same tier.
Most assumed Xiu Ka’s Yellow-tier strength was the result of hard training, but no one knew he had been born with it.
Mi Yue watched nervously from the sidelines, but since the system gave no warning, she didn’t intervene.
Sure enough, it wasn’t long before Xiu Ka had the three males pinned to the ground. Proudly raising his massive tiger head, he pressed down on two with his front paws while gripping the nape of the third tiger’s neck in his jaws, letting out a triumphant roar that shook the heavens.
Mi Yue watched his glossy, gleaming fur, her fingers itching with desire. (I really want to go up and give it a good rub, wonder how it feels.)
Hearing the commotion, Xiu Ka glanced over and saw Mi Yue excitedly clenching her tiny fists.
The tips of his ears flushed red as he released the three males, picked up a hide with his teeth, and shifted into human form.
(That’s odd, why is Xiu Ka’s face so red? Could he be running a fever?) That won’t do!
Without hesitation, Mi Yue pushed through the crowd and walked straight to Xiu Ka’s side. Her delicate, boneless hand, soft and pale, gently pressed against his sweat-dampened forehead.
The sudden intimate gesture made Xiu Ka’s heart skip a beat. “Shaman Yue, you-“
