Becoming the Comfort Alpha for the Aloof Movie Queen - Chapter 18
Violent trembling.
The Alpha’s body temperature was high; her face, nestled in the palms of Ming Tanqing’s hands, felt like holding a ball of sun, the heat radiating all the way to Ming Tanqing’s scent gland.
Ming Tanqing frowned deeply, attempting to pull her hands away, but she could not break free.
“Liang Ruojing!”
However, this time, the Alpha, who was usually so obedient and well-behaved in her presence, did not listen. Instead, she tightened her grip by a few degrees.
The suppressant needle was still stuck in the Alpha’s vein; Ming Tanqing didn’t dare to struggle too violently, fearing the needle might break off inside.
While she was worrying, the young Alpha was acting like a complete scoundrel, rubbing contentedly against her palms as if Ming Tanqing’s hands were blocks of ice.
Ming Tanqing had no choice but to endure it for the moment.
A dose of reinforced Alpha suppressant was rapidly injected into the Alpha’s vein.
Liang Ruojing’s blood vessels suddenly grew cold—a painful sensation—making her crave comfort from the Omega even more intensely.
Compared to other Alphas, Liang Ruojing’s behavior at this moment could be considered disciplined and well-behaved. She didn’t move much, simply cupping Ming Tanqing’s hands like a precious treasure, occasionally rubbing her face against them or delicately sniffing the residual pheromones in the palms.
The concentration of Alpha pheromones in the room gradually rose.
Slowly, a flush of pink covered Ming Tanqing’s face as well.
She and Liang Ruojing were like the North and South poles of a magnet; once they met, mutual attraction was an inevitability.
With her master in the heat of a rut, the peppermint liqueur pheromones were not as aggressive as usual. They softened, deliberately reining in the stinging scent of alcohol. The cool mint fragrance hovered obsequiously before Ming Tanqing, swaying back and forth as if begging for favor.
But Ming Tanqing knew this was merely an illusion.
Aggression and possession were instincts carved into an Alpha’s DNA.
Liang Ruojing curled up on the sofa, pitifully cradling Ming Tanqing’s hand, weak and docile, as endearing as a Golden Retriever drenched in the rain.
But she was still an Alpha.
An Alpha whom Ming Tanqing subjectively did not want to approach, yet was repeatedly influenced by.
How pathetic.
Ming Tanqing stood up and pulled forcefully, finally reclaiming her hand from Liang Ruojing’s grasp.
The Alpha’s body heat, however, remained branded on her palm.
It itched intensely.
The Omega’s sudden withdrawal brought a deeper sense of emptiness and panic to the Alpha.
Liang Ruojing opened her eyes, only to see Ming Tanqing looking expressionless, appearing almost angry.
Ming Tanqing was wearing a black wool coat today; the cut was crisp and well-fitted, every line of her body perfectly accentuated. Because her expression was dark, she somehow overlapped with the image of Sun Ying.
“Master…” Liang Ruojing reached out to grab her.
Any other Omega would have turned and left coldly long ago.
Ming Tanqing was actually at a disadvantage; her face was cold, but her heart could never quite turn completely frigid. After all, Liang Ruojing’s rut had been triggered early because of her.
Ming Tanqing bent over. Before coming here, she had specifically asked a doctor for a significant amount of Alpha-specific suppression supplies. Since she had no use for them herself, she left them all for Liang Ruojing.
“Goodbye.”
Leaving these words behind, Ming Tanqing suppressed the numbness in her waist and back and ignored the lingering pull of the Alpha’s pheromones, walking quickly out of the lounge.
Liang Ruojing’s heart was nearly stolen away by her.
If she hadn’t come, the longing wouldn’t be so bad. But she had come, she had helped, and then she had quickly withdrawn. It was like a lucid dream in the middle of the day—even after waking up, the aftertaste remained.
Ming Tanqing managed to walk a few steps with sheer willpower, but her strength eventually lost out to her scent gland, which had lacked pheromone nourishment for years.
The core of Pheromone Disorder Syndrome is the patient’s inability to release pheromones autonomously, leading to an intensified craving for the guidance of others’ pheromones.
The specific medication acted as an additional shackle on the gland, forcing the pheromones to be compressed within the body. It was useful in the short term, but in the long run, it would only worsen the condition.
Not to mention, Ming Tanqing had just experienced the pheromone dredging provided by Liang Ruojing.
Blocking is never as effective as channeling.
Her mind could resist, but her scent gland could not lie.
She simply craved Liang Ruojing.
She craved her so much that after just three minutes of contact, Ming Tanqing had a visible reaction.
Unable to walk any further, Ming Tanqing ducked into another empty room and dialed her assistant’s number.
The assistant reacted extremely quickly. Within minutes, hurried footsteps sounded outside the door.
the accompanying doctor opened the door directly.
Ming Tanqing was leaning against the wall, her hands shaking as she tried to inject a suppressant into her arm.
In truth, her pheromone concentration had not reached the level of a heat period, and there was no actual need for a suppressant. But the desire stirred up by the Alpha was ruthlessly churning through her nerves; Ming Tanqing was powerless to parry it and could only hope the suppressant would subdue it slightly.
“Miss Ming!” The doctor stepped forward, having to use some force to snatch the suppressant from the Omega’s hand.
“Doctor Fang specifically said that you cannot over-utilize suppressants anymore.”
Ming Tanqing turned her head away.
Since she had been forced to recuperate at home after falling ill, her personality had undergone subtle changes. She was proud, but even proud people have to live.
“I know,” Ming Tanqing said. “Take me back to the villa.”
The assistant would not be returning to the Ming residence with her. Ming Tanqing thought for a few seconds and specifically instructed her on a small matter.
On the other side.
Tang Yuecen had run through several surrounding floors and finally managed to find a doctor.
This doctor was originally there for emergencies, specializing in minor ailments like bruises, sprains, and colds. This happened to fit Liang Ruojing’s apparent situation.
Tang Yuecen pulled the doctor along, jogging back to the lounge, afraid to waste even a second.
“Xiao Jing, I’m back!”
The door opened. Tang Yuecen breathed a sigh of relief; she was still there; nothing had gone wrong.
“If it really doesn’t work, we’ll go to the hospital…” Tang Yuecen walked forward but suddenly froze in her tracks.
Liang Ruojing was curled up on the sofa, her face covered in tears.
“What happened!!” Tang Yuecen’s eyes widened. She glanced at the extra items on the coffee table and asked, “Who was here?”
This question touched upon the Alpha’s sorrow once more.
She came, but then she left again!
Liang Ruojing hugged her clothes and wept silently.
The doctor stepped up and measured her temperature with a thermometer gun 36.2°
She was as healthy as could be.
Tang Yuecen was also puzzled. She felt the forehead; the fever had indeed broken.
At that moment, there was another knock on the door.
Tang Yuecen looked back and saw two people. One was wearing a suit—someone she had seen before following Ming Tanqing. The other person held a medical kit and appeared to be a doctor.
“May I ask…” Tang Yuecen stepped forward, but before she could finish, that doctor spoke.
“She doesn’t have a fever. It’s a rut.”
A rut?
Tang Yuecen turned back, looking at the curled-up Liang Ruojing in shock as half-remembered physiological knowledge surfaced in her mind.
This posture, this level of emotional sensitivity… it really did seem like an Alpha’s rut.
“But, she wasn’t like this before,” Tang Yuecen said, confused.
Last month, Liang Ruojing had been in a rut as well, and she had spent the whole day running errands with her as if nothing was wrong.
The doctor specializing in scent glands stepped forward and performed a simple test on Liang Ruojing.
“It’s the early stage of a rut. She just had a suppressant, so she’s fine. The other reactions are normal phenomena of a rut.”
Tang Yuecen observed Liang Ruojing’s expression closely and found it increasingly strange. “Aren’t S-rank Alphas rarely affected?”
Initially, she had been shocked by Liang Ruojing’s incredible constitution, but later she explained it all away as being an S-rank Alpha.
The doctor offered a tactful reminder: “They are not affected by other Omegas, but they are more sensitive to high-compatibility Omegas.”
Tang Yuecen’s mind went blank.
Huh?
Fang Zezhi received the report from the assistant and rushed back to the Ming residence at the fastest possible speed.
At the villa, several servants were standing guard in the main hall on the first floor.
Ming Tanqing’s coat and personal belongings were on the sofa; she had clearly returned.
“Where is Tanqing?” Fang Zezhi asked.
The servant looked troubled. “The young lady went upstairs. She said no one should disturb her; she will come down in a while.”
On the second floor, there was complete silence.
The intricately patterned carpet stretched down the hallway, disappearing into the room at the very end.
On the floor of the room, scattered clothing formed a winding line. It started with the coat, then socks, the dress, underwear… finally stopping in front of the closed bathroom door.
Ming Tanqing lay in the bathtub, catching the falling warm water.
Even though she was already far away from Liang Ruojing, the scent of mint still clung tightly to her scent gland.
The temperature gradually rose.
Every breath exhaled from between her teeth was filled with ambiguous, hurried heat.
Suddenly, one leg hooked over the edge of the bathtub. Droplets of water followed the beautiful contours of her body, sliding across her delicate skin and gathering at the curve of her calf.
“Ngh…!” Her calf trembled, and the drop of water fell.
The frequency grew faster, the movements larger.
Soon it turned into violent shaking. Her porcelain-white leg stretched into a straight line all the way to her toes.
“Ha!”
The leg went limp, still resting on the edge.
It twitched gently.
