Becoming the Comfort Alpha for the Aloof Movie Queen - Chapter 19
“Sister Jing, does she already have an Omega?”
Liang Ruojing’s rut had come on with a vengeance. It was the first time Tang Yuecen had encountered this in the two years she had been managing her, and she was completely at a loss. Left with no choice, she postponed most of her appointments and let Liang Ruojing rest at home.
The pheromones of an S-rank Alpha were overbearing. The assistant, Huahua, was an Omega and couldn’t get close, so for the past few days, Tang Yuecen and another assistant, a Beta named Xingzi, had been looking after her in the apartment.
It was Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM. The sun was bright, and two days had passed since the TV drama audition.
Tang Yuecen was at the company, screening scripts for Liang Ruojing.
The scripts next to her were piled almost as high as a person. Tang Yuecen closed a script and let out a long sigh.
With a “pearl” already in hand—having encountered a character like Han Jiahe that was destined to be a hit—Tang Yuecen found every character she looked at now to be lackluster.
But what could be done?
Judging by Liang Ruojing’s expression that day, there was probably little hope. Tang Yuecen hadn’t asked her directly, fearing it would only add to her heartbreak.
Furthermore—
The phone suddenly rang. Tang Yuecen looked closely; as expected, it was the assistant, Xingzi.
Xingzi: “Sister Tang, it’s bad! Sister Jing’s fever is spiking again!”
Tang Yuecen stood up and walked quickly toward the garage. “Did you call a doctor? Don’t give her suppressants; she’s used too many lately.”
Tang Yuecen got into the car and habitually opened her notes to record the time of the fever. A string of numbers was already recorded on the screen.
Since leaving the audition site that day, Liang Ruojing had been suffering from a recurring low-grade fever for two whole days. Several doctors had come to see her, but all were helpless, unable to determine the cause.
Tang Yuecen scrolled through her contacts and saw a new number.
“Dr. Fang.”
It was given to her by the doctor from that day, who said to contact them as soon as possible if there was any abnormality.
Heh, does she think I just entered society?
Tang Yuecen had seen this kind of sales tactic countless times and was full of disdain. But now, she could only give it a try.
The Ming Residence.
Ming Tanqing had just woken up. She had attended a charity gala the night before, and social settings inevitably involved drinking. Her health was poor, and her consciousness was still somewhat hazy when she woke up this morning.
Draping a thick coat over her shoulders, Ming Tanqing found a spot on the balcony to soak up the sun. The sunlight was warm and gentle, bathing her in a golden glow.
It should have been a time to relax, but Ming Tanqing’s heart could not feel at ease.
Her gland was protesting.
An Omega’s gland needs care and nourishment, yet Ming Tanqing always starved it. It was nearly starving to death, yet she still only used medicinal injections.
Ming Tanqing originally thought that after the relief she found that day, things would be fine. She hadn’t expected that it was only the beginning; more long-suppressed cravings were now surging forth.
Her body was thirsting for the nourishment of Alpha pheromones. In this situation, suppressant patches only made things more uncomfortable the more they were applied.
Ming Tanqing closed her eyes, but before her thoughts could settle, the sound of footsteps suddenly came from nearby.
It was Fang Zezhi.
Fang Zezhi’s expression was solemn.
“Tanqing, I need to talk about Little Jing’s situation.”
Ming Tanqing stood up, standing against the light, her expression one of utter confusion: “Is she still in her rut?”
Liang Ruojing’s physical fitness was clearly stated in her files; she was as strong as an ox.
Fang Zezhi nodded: “Her gland has been affected by Omega pheromones. This situation is quite different.”
Ming Tanqing frowned.
So, she had affected Liang Ruojing’s life after all.
“What should be done?” Ming Tanqing asked.
After so many days of contact, Ming Tanqing was no longer as resistant to Liang Ruojing as she had been at the start. Moreover, this matter started because of her.
Ming Tanqing was willing to…
Fang Zezhi suddenly said: “Don’t worry, there’s no need for a person to go. There are other methods.”
“Do you have any clothes you just took off? The more close-fitting, the better.”
Tang Yuecen rushed back to the apartment. Liang Ruojing was curled up on the bed, her face flushed crimson with fever and her forehead covered in cold sweat, looking fragile and pitiable.
She had been lethargic these past few days; even when she opened her eyes, her consciousness was not clear.
An Alpha in heat was supposed to be like this to attract the care of their Omega. However, now, the only ones by Liang Ruojing’s bed were Beta No. 1, Sister Tang, and Beta No. 2, Xingzi.
Liang Ruojing felt insecure; she wouldn’t let go of her bolster, and her face insisted on pressing against it—a world of difference from her usual reliable and steadfast image.
Xingzi found it a rare sight and had saved quite a few photos over the past few days. But by today, her emotions had turned entirely into heartache.
Xingzi: “Are Alpha ruts always like this? Should Sister Jing be looking for an O?”
Sister Tang smacked her on the head: “What are you saying! She’s still building her career!”
As she spoke, the phone in her pocket rang again.
It was that “Dr. Fang” at the door, saying she had brought “medicine.”
Tang Yuecen took the paper bag and lifted out a silk shirt. The fabric was of high quality and certainly wouldn’t be cheap.
But the size was clearly too small; it wasn’t for Liang Ruojing to wear. She raised an eyebrow and glared displeasedly at Fang Zezhi.
“What is this?”
Fang Zezhi found it hard to explain. “Give it to Little Liang; it will be useful for her.”
Tang Yuecen remembered the words of the other doctor from that day. A high-compatibility Omega…
Tang Yuecen scanned Fang Zezhi up and down, her gaze sharp as if she were reading her mind.
Fang Zezhi’s heart was in turmoil. She had been an expert in hereditary glandular diseases for over twenty years, and this was the first time she had acted as a double agent.
She handed over another small box. This was the main event.
“This must also be applied to Little Liang.”
Tang Yuecen opened it. It was a circular sticker, white and very simple in design.
Xingzi recognized it: “This is a suppressant patch.”
“Yes, it’s for Little Liang’s use.”
Fang Zezhi nodded, secretly breaking into a sweat. Fortunately, the two people in front of her were both Betas and couldn’t smell the pheromones.
The moment Tang Yuecen opened the box, a rich fragrance of lilies instantly crowded the entire apartment. This was a used suppressant patch from Ming Tanqing.
A Beta might not understand the level of intimacy involved with a suppressant patch, but Fang Zezhi, as an Omega, knew all too well. For an Alpha or Omega controlled by their glands during a heat or rut, exchanging suppressant patches was even more suggestive than exchanging underwear.
She hadn’t expected Ming Tanqing to agree.
At the same time, Liang Ruojing, inside the room, smelled the familiar lily fragrance. Her body instinctively reacted, and she let out two restless whimpers.
Tang Yuecen hurried over and, following Fang Zezhi’s guidance, carefully placed the small circular patch over the sensitive gland on the back of the rutting Alpha’s neck.
Liang Ruojing’s body shuddered, and a sigh escaped her throat.
The lily fragrance, carrying a strong sense of possessiveness, instantly dispelled all other scents and tightly surrounded the Alpha’s gland. It was gentle and soft, soothing the feverish Alpha while also speaking of its own longing.
Liang Ruojing’s face suddenly became even redder, and her entire body felt a tingling, numbing sensation of relief. The heat and anxiety she had felt for so many days were all smoothed away by the cold fragrance emanating from the back of her neck.
Seeing that Liang Ruojing’s expression had eased, Tang Yuecen handed over the shirt she was holding.
However, the moment she reached out, the semi-conscious Alpha instantly grabbed it. The bolster she had held for two days was immediately discarded as Liang Ruojing clung tightly to that single thin piece of cloth as if she were embracing a beloved lover, her expression full of satisfaction.
The two scents of pheromones impatiently melded together. The cold fragrance was sparked into heat, and the sharp scent of alcohol willingly became soft. They were naturally compatible, inseparable from one another.
Fang Zezhi let out a heartfelt smile.
Xingzi was stunned. She had taken biology classes.
Xingzi whispered to herself: “Sister Jing… does she already have an O?”
Fang Zezhi added fuel to the fire: “I think we should step outside for a moment.”
She spoke cryptically: “Little Liang has some business to attend to.”
Tang Yuecen’s face turned terrifyingly dark.
