- Chapter 56 - Good Kid and Bad Kid
No matter what method she used, she temporarily…
The words barely left her mouth when Shi Xinyu paused. She turned back to look at Ying Miaomiao, her eyes carrying a sense of confusion, yet she was extremely patient.
Those amber eyes watched her with constant tenderness.
“I’ll tell you later.”
Under that gaze, Ying Miaomiao retreated once more. She spoke vaguely, only stating that feelings truly are a complicated matter.
The light in the underground parking lot was dim, like a black hole swallowing people. After placing the suitcase in the trunk, Shi Xinyu finally spoke.
It wasn’t that she hadn’t noticed Ying Miaomiao’s odd behavior, but her own emotions remained stable, like a calm, waveless sea.
“Miaomiao, what did you want to say?”
Her eyes reflected the few lights of the underground parking lot and Ying Miaomiao, the white halos in her eyes carrying a sort of inorganic coldness.
Yet, her voice was so gentle.
Shi Xinyu’s hand was very cool. It lightly caressed Ying Miaomiao’s cheek down to her lips, gently rubbing.
The atmosphere was extraordinarily thick until a car in the rear row drove past, its lights terrifyingly bright, casting a halo over Shi Xinyu as it swept by.
She seemed like a deity, high above and untouchable.
Ying Miaomiao finally snapped out of her trance. She parted her lips, but before she could speak, they were sealed by cool lips.
Shi Xinyu’s lips were very soft. She held Ying Miaomiao’s face, kissing her very earnestly. Her nose bridge was high, casting a shallow shadow on her face, and her soft, stray hairs gently intertwined with Ying Miaomiao’s.
Ying Miaomiao closed her eyes. It was the first time she hadn’t dared to look into Shi Xinyu’s eyes while kissing.
She suddenly felt a little wronged.
She hadn’t done anything wrong, so why did she feel wronged? And why did she feel sad?
Was it just because Lü Jiaoyang had pointed out the issue she had always been concerned about, forcing her to truly confront that white moonlight, whether real or imagined?
It wasn’t until her lips felt a faint stinging pain that she opened her eyes, which were brimming with moisture.
“Do you not want to talk about it anymore?”
Shi Xinyu’s voice carried a hint of coaxing, the ending rising, suggesting that if Ying Miaomiao simply nodded, she would offer up everything she had.
Against her better judgment, Ying Miaomiao subtly nodded in response, feeling relieved as she deepened the kiss, actively reciprocating Shi Xinyu.
Giving up was so easy.
The distance from the station to home was not far.
When Ying Miaomiao stood in Shi Xinyu’s home again, everything seemed to be mostly unchanged.
The wind chimes gently swayed, looking especially dreamy in the sunlight.
The muffled thud of the door closing was accompanied by the descent of Shi Xinyu’s kiss.
Her lips were still very cool, and even her fingers had a slight chill, yet they were also very soft. Ying Miaomiao followed her force and was pressed against the door.
Ying Miaomiao could feel the faint, pervasive scent of orchid enveloping her entirely—Shi Xinyu’s scent.
Her kiss was passionate, yet restrained.
Although her lips were only lightly pecking and sucking at her, Ying Miaomiao felt as if Shi Xinyu wanted to tear her apart and devour her.
The wind chimes swayed seven times, but they kissed for more than seven seconds.
Ying Miaomiao’s heartbeat gradually accelerated, her breathing disordered and rapid. They stumbled into the bedroom, where mismatched slippers lay scattered by the bed.
Looking at the slight flush on Shi Xinyu’s cool, pale skin, Ying Miaomiao’s voice trembled slightly. She pressed against Shi Xinyu’s shoulder.
“Wait…”
Shi Xinyu’s movement paused, a flicker of darkness crossing her amber eyes. She stopped her actions as Ying Miaomiao wished, drawing back slightly, but their distance remained close.
“I… I’m not…”
Ying Miaomiao’s voice was hesitant. She turned her gaze away, but the sunlight outside the window stung her eyes.
“I’m not ready yet…”
Shi Xinyu seemed not to have heard clearly. She tilted her head, a smooth pearl dangling from her earlobe, and the fair skin on her neck was exposed before Ying Miaomiao without any defense.
“What is it?”
Ying Miaomiao scrambled to her feet. She haphazardly put on her slippers, burying her head, and said as if burning bridges: “I’m going to take a shower.”
She was utterly flustered, not even noticing the mismatched slippers on her feet. Taking her pajamas from the suitcase, she fled into the bathroom.
They were both adults; it should be normal for something like that to happen spontaneously, right?
Ying Miaomiao turned on the warm water and lathered herself with shower gel that had a scent similar to Shi Xinyu’s, thinking to herself.
When she returned to the room, the curtains had been drawn, offering excellent blackout. It was pitch black, with the only light source being a small night lamp.
In the dim light, the superiority of Shi Xinyu’s bone structure was once again highlighted, her features deep. She lightly pecked Ying Miaomiao’s lips.
Whispering a few words.
Ying Miaomiao sat on the bed, feeling a bit awkward and nervous during the wait, but a glance at the room, with its familiar furnishings, eased her mind somewhat.
The sky-blue cat bed in the corner was still there, very clean, with no sign of dust, just as it was before.
The bedsheets had also been changed to sky-blue, looking exceptionally fresh at a glance.
Shi Xinyu pushed the door open.
She was still damp, her long hair draped over her shoulders, the curl just right, though a few strands were plastered to her cool, pale skin by the water, the contrast between black and white being stark.
She closed the door and slowly walked towards Ying Miaomiao.
Ying Miaomiao’s heart pounded like a drum. It was daytime, the afternoon, and she suddenly felt like an extravagant ruler, having the guilt of daytime indulgence.
She sat on the bed, watching Shi Xinyu.
Until those cool, damp lips kissed her.
Shi Xinyu’s kisses were scattered on her pale, delicate neck, imprinting her own scent onto her skin.
Ying Miaomiao felt a tingling itchiness that seemed to spread from there throughout her body, but she didn’t struggle, only gently responding.
Her slip dress was pale yellow, making her skin look as tender and white as milk. Her two bare arms weakly encircled Shi Xinyu.
The clean, cool scent of her shower gel mixed with the scent of orchid seemed to faintly awaken Ying Miaomiao’s senses. She was clearly aware of what she was doing.
She was responding to Shi Xinyu, and she was running away from Shi Xinyu.
But she chose to momentarily forget all of it.
Ying Miaomiao lifted her head, leaning closer to Shi Xinyu, her voice sticky, like a plea or a demand: “Shi Xinyu, say you love me, okay?”
Shi Xinyu’s eyes were clouded with a shallow red. She stopped her movements and buried her face in Ying Miaomiao’s neck. Her warm breath scattered there, igniting a patch of red.
Her fervent heartbeat transmitted through their touching skin to Ying Miaomiao’s body. The moment the whispered words were uttered, she felt as if a sharp canine tooth had lightly bitten her earlobe, a tingling numbness spreading throughout her body.
“Miaomiao, promise me you won’t ever leave me, okay?”
“I love you.”
Shi Xinyu kissed Ying Miaomiao’s lips again.
Ying Miaomiao looked down, sensing her almost reverent, appeasing kisses.
But the kisses were like kindling, burning hotter and fiercer. The lingering kisses fell one after another. At some point, Ying Miaomiao was half-lying on the bed.
A slick, nimble tongue penetrated her mouth, conquering her territory inch by inch.
“Mmm…”
Ying Miaomiao unconsciously let out a soft moan, but her mind was exceptionally clear. Shi Xinyu noticed her distraction, her sharp teeth lightly biting the side of her lip.
Outside the window, the roar of a passing airplane suddenly sounded. The low, massive noise briefly drowned out Ying Miaomiao’s heartbeat.
But the unfamiliar passion completely mobilized both of their nerves.
That fervent kiss gradually changed its tune, winding downwards.
After a long while, the intensely hot kisses finally stopped. Ying Miaomiao could clearly hear Shi Xinyu’s panting in the quiet room.
Her usually frosty face finally carried a trace of spring tide, clearly reflected in Ying Miaomiao’s sapphire-blue eyes.
“Miaomiao, do you love me?”
“I do.”
That unhesitating answer earned Shi Xinyu’s rewarding kiss on her eye corner and eyebrows, “Good kid.”
Ying Miaomiao’s expression shifted several times. She chuckled softly, slightly exerting force with both hands, pulling Shi Xinyu down onto the bed.
The impact caused the mattress to dip slightly. She suddenly reversed roles, straddling Shi Xinyu.
Her dark hair scattered messily across the bed, the delicate curls becoming disheveled, like a seductive siren in the deep sea.
“Then does the good kid get a reward?”
Ying Miaomiao licked her canine tooth, gently nibbling Shi Xinyu’s earlobe, feeling her body tremble. “Shi Xinyu, tell me quickly.”
Shi Xinyu looked up at Ying Miaomiao. What churned in those amber eyes was a complexity that Ying Miaomiao couldn’t understand, but that complicated emotion vanished in an instant.
Her previous little trick reappeared, and she fell into Shi Xinyu’s embrace. She could feel the vibration of Shi Xinyu’s chest.
“Only good kids get rewards. You’re a bad kid right now.”
The dim bedside lamp illuminated their overlapping silhouettes. Her moist tongue wrapped around her delicate earlobe. An unprecedented tingling sensation swept through Ying Miaomiao’s body, and she instantly melted.
Her wrist was grasped, and the calloused hand swept over Ying Miaomiao’s slightly protruding spine.
Ying Miaomiao’s breathing suddenly quickened.
She attempted to struggle but found herself unable to get up, firmly held captive in Shi Xinyu’s arms.
Shi Xinyu abruptly sat up. Ying Miaomiao straddled her, and the sudden loss of balance made her involuntarily move closer to Shi Xinyu.
“Trying to run away makes you an even worse kid.”
Shi Xinyu stopped her movements, using one hand to cup Ying Miaomiao’s jaw, gently rubbing, much like teasing a kitten.
A trace of astonishment flashed across Ying Miaomiao’s sapphire-blue eyes. Shi Xinyu had never behaved this way before, utterly playful.
The shoulder strap slipped from her shoulder, and Ying Miaomiao lost the fight.
Shi Xinyu’s typically cool fingertips were now like flames, igniting waves of fire wherever they touched.
Ying Miaomiao weakly buried her face in Shi Xinyu’s neck. Heat seemed to invade her entire body, but Shi Xinyu’s calloused hand calmly soothed her crumbling emotions.
She finally surrendered, her eye corners red, and she whimpered for mercy: “Shi Xinyu, that’s enough!”
Shi Xinyu paused, her flushed face close to Ying Miaomiao’s. Her eyes were a complex mix of darkness, yet she only lightly kissed her on the corner of her eyes and her eyebrows.
“Be a good kitten, don’t run away, okay?”
The tone was coaxing, yet carried a hint of threat that she would press further if not agreed to. Ying Miaomiao’s mind was a mess. Her eyelashes fluttered, and a hot tear rolled down.
Shi Xinyu gently encircled her soft body, kissing away Ying Miaomiao’s tear from the corner of her eye, “Good kitten, sleep now.”
Looking at Ying Miaomiao’s sleeping face, Shi Xinyu’s expression was cold. She gave a self-mocking smile. Ying Miaomiao was indeed a good kid.
So hesitant, so indecisive, yet obediently yielding to temptation.
Shi Xinyu walked out to the living room and looked up at the window, feeling a long-lost urge to light a cigarette.
The long trail left by the passing airplane dispersed slightly, cloud-like, briefly obscuring Shi Xinyu’s thoughts.
No matter what method she used, she wouldn’t leave for now, would she?
