Beauty Snake - Chapter 37
Chapter 37: Ji Yunfei, Are You Incapable?
Hearing Xie Yin murmur in her sleep, Ji Yunfei crouched down, wanting to hear more clearly. But just as she leaned in, her neck was suddenly caught in a firm embrace.
“Hmph…”
“Too close!!”
Ji Yunfei, held by the neck, couldn’t find the heart—or rather, didn’t have the will—to break free. Guided by Xie Yin’s pull, she came to a halt barely five centimeters away from that soul-stirring face.
Gulp— In the silent room, the sound of Ji Yunfei swallowing was exceptionally loud.
“I want to kiss her…”
Ji Yunfei felt as if she were possessed by a ghost, or perhaps the alcohol had finally hit her head. Once she began to scrutinize Xie Yin’s face in detail, she couldn’t stop the urge to steal a kiss…
Lost in thought, her mind drifted far away. By the time she snapped back to reality, the distance between them was less than a finger’s width.
Following the rhythm of their breathing, two streams of warm air gradually intertwined, and Ji Yunfei’s face heated up once more. The tiny remaining gap began to close further as her gaze drifted uncontrollably toward Xie Yin’s soft, warm lips.
Their noses touched. The sleeping woman’s eyelashes fluttered as she slowly opened her eyes. They were swimming with moisture, clearly still in a dazed state.
“A-Fei… I like you…”
Xie Yin spoke softly with a coquettish lilt, proactively rubbing the tip of her nose against Ji Yunfei’s. A smile flickered in her eyes. The familiar confession poured into Ji Yunfei’s ears again, swirling in her mind, refusing to leave.
Boom— It felt as if a wall had collapsed.
“I… I do too…”
Though she knew one shouldn’t fully trust a drunkard’s words, Ji Yunfei followed her heart, giving Xie Yin an affirmative response in a breathy whisper.
“Mmm…” As soon as the words left her mouth, the woman beneath her suddenly pulled her closer, eliminating the last dangerous gap between them.
Ji Yunfei’s lips were met with a warm, soft pressure. Like the jelly she ate as a child, she instinctively flicked her tongue to give it a lick…
It really was sweet… though mixed with a hint of alcohol that made her senses go blurry.
“Hnng—” Surprised by Ji Yunfei’s sudden counterattack, Xie Yin let out a hum, her smile deepening. The light sparkling in her eyes was almost “blindingly” bright.
As the softness at the corner of her mouth began to pull away, Ji Yunfei felt a twinge of reluctance and prepared to follow up with her own initiative. But before she could act, those longed-for lips found a new landing spot on her face.
From her cheeks to her nose, from her nose to her eyes… finally, Xie Yin’s lips lingered on the space between Ji Yunfei’s brows.
Having had her entire face kissed, Ji Yunfei’s body temperature was about to break the thermometer. Steam practically radiated off her. She gasped for air, trying to steady her chaotic, racing heart.
“How is Xie Yin… so good at this?”
“Where did that serious, formal person go?”
“But… this version of her…”
“I love it so much…”
“Aaaah! Ji Yunfei, get a grip!”
“Get to the bathroom right now!!”
After countless internal dramas played out, logic finally triumphed over emotion. Ji Yunfei shook her head, tossing out all the “trash” in her brain, and abruptly pulled away from Xie Yin.
“?” Confused by the sudden movement, Xie Yin looked up with watery eyes at the person who had just stood up. She opened her mouth.
“Are you leaving…?”
Her sleeve was caught. Ji Yunfei looked down and met Xie Yin’s pleading gaze. She was begging her not to go… though Ji Yunfei hadn’t planned on leaving anyway.
“I’m not leaving… I’ll stay with you.”
“I’m a bit dirty… going to wash up.”
“Go to sleep like a good girl…”
While coaxing her verbally, Ji Yunfei’s actions were anything but gentle as she stuffed Xie Yin back into the duvet and tucked the corners in tightly. Worried the light would be too bright, she turned off the crystal ceiling lamp, leaving only the small bedside lamp to illuminate that tiny pocket of space.
Having done all this, she looked at Xie Yin’s fuzzy head poking out from the covers. Her lips curled into a smile, and she couldn’t resist a soft pat.
Mmm… soft and smooth. Ten out of ten for texture.
Finally having settled her, Ji Yunfei dragged her exhausted body into the bathroom.
Splash— The sound of water rose as warm droplets fell from the showerhead onto her.
“Phew—”
Only during this shower did she have time to catch her breath. Staying one more second with the drunk Xie Yin would have drastically increased the risk of her logic snapping completely. She couldn’t, and shouldn’t, take advantage of someone while they were drunk and dazed… even if every word they said was laced with love for her.
“How did we end up kissing for no reason…”
“I don’t care, she started it…”
Splosh, splosh— Ji Yunfei tilted her head back, cupping water to splash her face to keep herself awake.
“I hope Xie Yin has already gone to meet the God of Dreams…”
Drying off and putting on a bathrobe, she hesitated for a moment at the bathroom door before finally offering a silent prayer and turning the handle. She stepped out as quietly as possible.
The bedside lamp was still on, casting a dim yellow glow. The duvet was slightly bunched up, topped by messy strands of black hair. The small room was silent, save for two sets of unsynchronized breathing intertwining.
And, of course… Ji Yunfei’s heart thundering like a drum.
On tiptoe, she walked to the bed. Seeing Xie Yin completely buried in the covers, she stifled a laugh and gently pulled the duvet down a bit so the sleeping woman could breathe fresh air.
Xie Yin’s eyes were tightly shut, her long lashes thick and curled. Ji Yunfei brushed her forehead and then, following her heart, left a soft kiss between Xie Yin’s brows.
“You kissed me so many times…”
“Now, we’re even…”
With a smile she didn’t even realize she had, Ji Yunfei sat on the edge of the bed, lifted a corner of the covers, and slid in.
Unlike her usual cold, solitary bed, the space under the covers was “burning” because of Xie Yin’s presence—warm, yet a bit scorching. Pushing down the ripples in her heart, she reached out and clicked off the lamp. Darkness and silence reclaimed the room.
The loss of sight inevitably heightened her hearing and touch. The steady breathing of the person beside her echoed in her ears. The bed wasn’t particularly large, and Ji Yunfei pressed herself against the very edge, terrified of accidentally bumping into Xie Yin.
But no matter how she tried to restrict her limbs, she would still occasionally brush against her…
This Xie Yin… she really doesn’t stay still while sleeping. Ji Yunfei thought back to the night they shared a room when she first arrived in S-City. She had a premonition that tonight would be a classic repeat.
Her guess was exactly right. The “unruly drunkard” Xie Yin began to play a game of “She chases, she flees, and neither can escape” in her sleep.
The warm body kept pressing closer until Ji Yunfei had nowhere left to retreat. She gave up, letting Xie Yin have her way with a “rotting away” attitude.
Soon, Ji Yunfei felt a tightening around her waist. Her legs were engulfed in warmth, and that faint narcissus scent unique to Xie Yin swirled around her nose, far too intoxicating.
“Sigh…” Ji Yunfei realized she was completely powerless against Xie Yin. She sighed with a smile, adjusted her position, and gently pulled the woman into her arms.
The heat from the body in her arms traveled up through their points of contact. Ji Yunfei’s cheeks flushed red again; she was probably drunk now, too… Closing her eyes, she tightened her hold, letting herself sink into this “gentle village.”
The two different breathing rhythms gradually synced up until they were on the same frequency.
In the quiet of the night, the black-haired woman tucked into the embrace listened to the light breathing of the person beside her. She quietly opened her eyes. Her hand, which had been around the waist, moved up to caress Ji Yunfei’s cheek.
Through the faint light filtering in from the window, the deep affection in Xie Yin’s eyes was visible… a lingering, tender gaze that roamed over Ji Yunfei’s face before locking onto those slightly parted lips.
“A-Fei…”
“Little dummy… you actually managed to hold back…”
Xie Yin’s tone held a hint of a mock-reproach but was mostly filled with a helpless laugh. As she spoke, she mischievously pinched Ji Yunfei’s nose and quickly let go.
“Mm…” Having her nose pinched, the sleeping Ji Yunfei let out an uncomfortable hum and knit her brows, but soon settled back into peace.
Xie Yin laughed softly, lifted her head, and pressed her lips against the ones she had been coveting. Unlike the earlier peck at the corner of the mouth, the soft lips were clearly more to Xie Yin’s taste.
Their lips met for only a fleeting moment before parting. Like a cat that had stolen a fish, Xie Yin licked her lips, wanting more. Seeing the “little dummy” show no signs of waking, she stopped holding back and covered those lips again.
Ji Yunfei’s mouth was already slightly open, giving Xie Yin an opening. A nimble tongue, like a wandering snake, slipped into the long-desired warm nest. Even so, the “little snake” didn’t dare make too big a move.
Having gathered what she craved, Xie Yin didn’t linger. She withdrew gently from the nest. Though reluctant, she knew there would be opportunities to revisit this place in the future… So, no need to rush. She would stop here for today; it wouldn’t be good to wake her up.
However… she wasn’t going to let this little “wooden head” off that easily.
Xie Yin took Ji Yunfei’s hand—the one wrapped around her—and stroked it gently before lowering her head to leave a deep kiss upon it. Their fingers interlaced, locking together. Xie Yin proactively burrowed deeper into Ji Yunfei’s chest. Two warm bodies pressed tightly together; even through their clothes, the heat was transmitted clearly.
Before closing her eyes, Xie Yin rubbed her nose against Ji Yunfei’s arm and murmured:
“A-Fei… wait for me in your dreams…”
“And whatever you do, don’t let me go…”
