After Transmigrating into a Scummy Alpha, I Became a Tool Person - Chapter 13
Early in the morning, after finishing breakfast, Xie Yinian went out for a run.
Xia Qiqi didn’t wake up until around eight o’clock. When she got up and went out for breakfast, she saw Aunt Jiang tidying up the dishes in the kitchen.
Covering her mouth as she yawned, Xia Qiqi’s eyes watered a little from sleep. She sat down at the dining table.
Aunt Jiang was putting away the kitchen knives when she noticed Xia Qiqi coming out. “Miss, the toast is still warming in the toaster. It’ll be ready in a moment,” she said.
Xia Qiqi nodded.
“Where’s Xie Yinian?” she asked.
“Madam went out for a run after breakfast,” Aunt Jiang replied as she walked over.
“Oh,” Xia Qiqi answered softly.
Just then, the toaster gave a ding.
Aunt Jiang used tongs to take out the toast, placed it on a plate, and added a fried egg and a few slices of tomato. She drizzled some salad dressing on top, then layered another slice of toast over it—making a neat little sandwich.
She set the sandwich in front of Xia Qiqi and then turned to tidy up the living room.
Xia Qiqi picked up a knife and began cutting the sandwich into smaller pieces. She speared one with her fork and took a bite.
Just then, her phone buzzed with a notification.
“The comic Fox and Dog is absolutely amazing! Highly recommend to all my friends!” — Weibo Push Notification
Comic?
Xia Qiqi tapped on the message and saw that the comic was quite popular—over two thousand likes.
She opened the attached image. The first panel showed a yellow dog eating dog food handed to it by a person.
Her brows lifted. Huh, that’s pretty cute.
She kept scrolling down, reading page after page with growing interest.
By the time she reached the end, Xia Qiqi felt a twinge of reluctance—she didn’t want it to end. In fact, she already wanted to read more.
Chapter 14 TOOL
she couldn’t help but notice how many people had already read and commented on it.
She clicked Follow, confirmed the subscription, and exited the page to check the other messages she’d received.
An: Xia, it’s been a while. How have you been lately?
Xia Qiqi: I’m doing well. How about you?
An: Not bad. I go out for walks sometimes, or attend piano recitals.
An: Oh right, I also got a cat—a big, white Ragdoll. She’s really sweet and obedient. I’ll send you a picture.
Xia Qiqi opened the image. The fluffy Ragdoll lay peacefully on the floor, eyes closed, looking utterly well-behaved.
Xia Qiqi: She’s adorable.
An: When I return home, I’ll bring her along so you can pet her—she’s so much fun.
Xia Qiqi: You’re coming back?
An: Yeah. I’m planning to quit my job. Haven’t decided exactly when, but after resigning, I’ll go back to my old career in our home country.
Xia Qiqi: I support your decision.
An: Thanks!
An: Ah, I’ve got something to do now. Talk later, bye.
Xia Qiqi: Bye.
Setting her phone aside, Xia Qiqi finished her breakfast.
After eating, she went to the living room and turned on the TV. Coincidentally, it was playing the same over-the-top romance drama Xie Yinian had been watching the other day.
Xia Qiqi watched quietly for a while but couldn’t see what was so appealing about it, so she changed the channel.
The news anchor was reporting:
“For an Omega, it’s rare to meet an Alpha whose compatibility rate is 100%. If you do, it means you’re very lucky.”
“In our country, Alphas and Omegas make up only a small percentage of the population. They not only have pheromones but also experience periodic heats.”
Just then,
Beep beep—password accepted.
Click.
The villa’s front door opened, and Xie Yinian walked in. She crossed the hallway and entered the living room.
Xia Qiqi turned her head, spotting her housemate returning from a morning run.
Xie Yinian was wearing a grey sports tank and shorts, her chestnut curls tied up high. Beads of sweat glistened on her skin; strands of damp hair clung to her forehead. Her top was soaked through, outlining firm abs sculpted from regular workouts.
She went to the fridge, grabbed a bottle of mineral water, twisted off the cap, and drank deeply. Her abdomen rose and fell with each gulp, and a drop of sweat trailed down along her toned lines.
Xia Qiqi quickly looked away and pressed her lips together, pretending to focus on the TV.
Still wiping at the sweat on her neck with a towel, Xie Yinian paused beside her.
Xia Qiqi glanced up at her. “What is it?”
Xie Yinian capped her bottle, leaned closer, and sniffed lightly near Xia Qiqi’s neck. “Hey, why can’t I smell your pheromones lately? Did they disappear?”
Xia Qiqi frowned, pushing her back a little. The gesture made her feel slightly violated.
Her tone turned cool. “Yeah. They’re gone.”
Of course they were—she’d instructed Uncle Wang to keep the air purifier running every day. There was no way anyone could smell her pheromones.
“Oh,” Xie Yinian murmured, sounding almost disappointed.
She’d always liked that scent—fresh and clean.
“I’m gonna take a shower,” Xie Yinian said, then hesitated. “Oh, right—are you free tomorrow?”
Xia Qiqi thought for a moment. “I think so.”
With a shy smile, Xie Yinian asked, “Then, would you come somewhere with me?”
“Where to?”
“Disney Castle! It’s super popular online right now. I was going to go with Lu Anran, but she’s busy, so, I thought I’d ask you instead. Will you come?”
Xia Qiqi didn’t reply immediately.
Worried she’d refuse, Xie Yinian quickly added, “I’ll cover all the expenses. You just have to enjoy yourself.”
Xia Qiqi gave her a flat look, as if to say, Do I look like someone who needs your money?
Xie Yinian caught the meaning right away and scratched her head, embarrassed. She was right—Xia Qiqi didn’t look short on cash. Probably richer than her, even.
“Then it’s settled,” Xia Qiqi said calmly. “I’ll go. I’ve got nothing better to do anyway.”
Xie Yinian’s eyes lit up. “Really? It’s a deal then!”
“Mm.”
Xie Yinian beamed, humming happily as she headed to the bathroom for a shower.
When she came out, her phone was vibrating nonstop on the desk, buzzing so hard it almost fell to the floor.
She sat cross-legged on the bed, unlocked it, and opened her notifications.
【That little fox is so cute—I kind of want one now!】
【LOL that dog’s so dumb-looking. Let’s call it Dummy!】
【When the bull snorts, the ring in its nose wiggles—so funny!】
【Why are the bull and horse characters so unintentionally hilarious?】
【Hahaha that horse’s neck is longer than half the cast of beastmen!】
【The artist’s technique is really good—definitely not a beginner!】
【Love this! Keep it up, author!】
【Followed! Can’t wait for the next update!】
【When’s the next chapter coming out?】
Xie Yinian blinked in surprise when she saw the stats.
Over 500 comments, 600 shares, and 2,000 likes.
She hadn’t expected such a reaction for something she’d just posted.
Xie Yinian carefully read through every single comment left by her fans, replying thoughtfully to those who had asked questions.
Once she was done responding, she sat back down in her computer chair, took a deep breath, and threw herself back into drawing with renewed determination.
