After Transmigrating into a Ridiculous Alpha, I Saved My Aloof Omega Wife - Chapter 26.2
Cheng Jianli paused, knowing full well that Jiang Muyan was actually asking about the scent gland beneath the pheromone-blocking patch. She replied, “It should be healed by now.”
“Let me take a look for you,” Jiang Muyan said. “Didn’t you say the wound was quite deep?”
Cheng Jianli: “…No.”
“Why not?” Jiang Muyan immediately put on a pitiful expression. “I’m really worried about your injury.”
Under the warm orange light, Cheng Jianli’s eyes shimmered like water, her translucent face tinged with a faint blush, making her even more beautiful than she had been that afternoon.
She said, “After this monthly exam is over, I’ll let you see.”
Jiang Muyan was puzzled: “Why wait until after the exam?”
Cheng Jianli replied, “Because we’ll have biology class after the exam.”
Jiang Muyan: “?”
She was even more confused, what did biology class have to do with the wound on Cheng Jianli’s neck?
Unfortunately, Cheng Jianli had already turned back to her homework, leaving Jiang Muyan no choice but to drop the matter. Yet as time passed, the more she thought about it, the more something felt off.
Wait a minute, why was it that she let Cheng Jianli see her anytime, but Cheng Jianli wouldn’t let her do the same?
After all, she hadn’t even hidden from Cheng Jianli when changing clothes today, yet Cheng Jianli avoided her.
It must be because she was too straightforward, how infuriating.
Feeling frustrated, Jiang Muyan picked up her phone. Sensing this, Cheng Jianli looked up and asked, “What’s wrong now?”
Jiang Muyan’s anger was plain on her face: “I want to play for a bit.”
Cheng Jianli said, “No. You promised me you wouldn’t touch your phone while doing homework.”
Jiang Muyan stubbornly retorted, though her hand instinctively put the phone down: “But I really want to play for a while. I’ve been doing homework for so long already.”
Cheng Jianli frowned slightly and asked, “Jiang Muyan, do you want to pass this monthly exam or not?”
Jiang Muyan, hearing Cheng Jianli’s tone turn serious, answered somewhat uncertainly, “I do.”
“Then why are you so distracted?” Cheng Jianli said. “Is there really something on your mind? You’ve seemed off ever since you came back from outside.”
Jiang Muyan opened her mouth, scratched her head, looking as if she wanted to speak but didn’t dare.
Cheng Jianli asked, “…Are you afraid of me?”
Jiang Muyan looked up, dazed. “In what way?”
Before transmigrating into this book, Jiang Muyan had indeed been afraid of Cheng Jianli’s silent demeanor. Whether working or studying, Cheng Jianli always wore the same expression, making it impossible to discern her emotions.
But when they were alone together, it was a different story. Jiang Muyan found Cheng Jianli incredibly gentle in bed, no matter what she did or how she did it, Cheng Jianli would indulge her and even play along.
Faced with this side of Cheng Jianli, Jiang Muyan always felt her heart melt, wanting to pull her into her arms and hold her close, watching as that usually cool face flushed with rare color, her eyes growing hazy with pleasure.
At those moments, Jiang Muyan would lean in to kiss the peach-tinted corner of Cheng Jianli’s lips and ask if she was doing well.
But before her memories could continue, Cheng Jianli interrupted her.
Cheng Jianli’s voice was calm. “You don’t need to be afraid of me. We’re classmates, our relationship is equal.”
Jiang Muyan blinked slowly. “Really?”
Cheng Jianli gave a quiet “Mm” and glanced at the clock. “You have ten minutes to tell me what’s on your mind. Let’s make this quick.”
Jiang Muyan hurriedly said, “Teacher Cheng, what do you think of me?”
Cheng Jianli hadn’t expected such a strange question. She replied, “You’re fine.”
Jiang Muyan pressed, “Then do you consider me a friend?”
Cheng Jianli nodded. “Your memory really is poor. I already answered this in the infirmary, you’re my friend.”
Jiang Muyan said dejectedly, “Then why is it okay for me to let you see me anytime, but you won’t do the same for me?”
Cheng Jianli frowned in confusion. “See what?”
Jiang Muyan answered earnestly, “Every part of your body.”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
“Actually, it’s not that I really want to see,” Jiang Muyan lied, “I just feel…”
Cheng Jianli rubbed her temples. “If this is about what happened in the changing room earlier, let me clarify, I don’t change clothes in front of others casually.”
Jiang Muyan immediately followed up, “But what if someone changes in front of you?”
“Do we really have to discuss this?” Cheng Jianli genuinely found the topic pointless. She’d rather solve a few math problems.
“But it’s important to me!” Jiang Muyan grew anxious. “Extremely important!”
“Fine,” Cheng Jianli relented. “I’ve never seen anyone else change clothes, except you.”
Jiang Muyan instantly declared, “Then you can’t let anyone else change in front of you in the future either! You have to promise.”
Cheng Jianli: “Mm, I promise.”
Jiang Muyan brightened immediately, her usual exuberance returning. She tossed her phone aside and said, “Let’s study now. I suddenly feel like learning.”
Cheng Jianli: “Finish this math test first. I’ll go over it with you afterward.”
The two of them plunged into a sea of homework problems. After a while, Jiang Muyan’s voice sounded beside Cheng Jianli’s ear again: “By the way, Teacher Cheng…”
Cheng Jianli turned her head: “What is it?”
Jiang Muyan lowered her head slightly, a bit shy: “If you really want to see it, you can come find me anytime. I’ll show you, anywhere you want.”
Cheng Jianli felt like she needed oxygen: “…Thank you for the offer, but I really don’t want to see it. I truly don’t.”
When Uncle Liu came to knock on the door, it was already very late, but neither Jiang Muyan nor Cheng Jianli had finished their homework yet.
“Young Miss, you and Teacher Cheng haven’t had dinner yet. How about eating first before continuing your studies?” Uncle Liu stood straight at the door, dressed in a tailored suit.
“That’s fine. Have my parents come back?” Jiang Muyan turned to ask.
“The Chairman and Madam have returned to their old villa. I heard there were some unfinished matters,” Uncle Liu said with a smile. “Come out and eat first.”
Cheng Jianli said softly, “Wouldn’t it be too much trouble…”
“Not at all, Teacher Cheng. I’d be delighted if you stayed for dinner,” Jiang Muyan said. “What would you like to eat? I’ll have Uncle Liu prepare it for you.”
“No need for anything special. I’ll eat whatever is available,” Cheng Jianli replied. “Thank you.”
“Don’t be so polite, Teacher Cheng. The Young Miss has been relying on your tutoring lately,” Uncle Liu led them downstairs. “It’s too late today. I’ll have someone prepare a guest room for you. The heavy rain outside hasn’t stopped yet better not go back for now.”
Let Cheng Jianli stay here?
While Jiang Muyan was still stunned, Cheng Jianli had already politely declined with a smile: “Thank you, Uncle Liu, but I should go home. If necessary, I can take a taxi.”
Jiang Muyan quickly interjected, “Teacher Cheng, don’t go back in such heavy rain. Look at the thunder and lightning outside, it’s too inconvenient.”
Cheng Jianli hesitated visibly. She had never stayed at someone else’s house before. “It’s better not,” she said.
“But I haven’t finished my homework tonight. You shouldn’t go back,” Jiang Muyan played her trump card. “Without you, I might not be able to submit my homework tomorrow.”
Sure enough, upon hearing this, Cheng Jianli’s brows furrowed slightly: “Can you really not finish it on your own?”
Jiang Muyan shook her head firmly: “No.”
Feeling responsible for Jiang Muyan’s tutoring, Cheng Jianli relented: “Alright, then I’ll stay until you finish your homework.”
The dining room was in a separate living area. Jiang Muyan led Cheng Jianli inside and thoughtfully pulled out a chair for her, leaving just the two of them seated at the solid-colored dining table.
Watching the maids shuttle between the kitchen and the living room, placing one exquisitely plated dish after another before them over twenty dishes in total, Cheng Jianli couldn’t help but think from the bottom of her heart that Jiang Muyan’s family was truly wealthy.
Unaware of Cheng Jianli’s thoughts, Jiang Muyan enthusiastically served her food, saying repeatedly, “Teacher Cheng, try this one. It’s especially delicious…”
Cheng Jianli asked, “Do you usually eat alone?”
“Yes, if my parents aren’t home, I eat by myself,” Jiang Muyan said. “I’ve asked Uncle Liu and the others to eat with me, but they refuse, insisting on waiting until I finish.”
Cheng Jianli looked at Jiang Muyan’s face and said, “After dinner, you should take a bath first.”
They had only had their hair dried by the maids after coming in from outside and hadn’t bathed yet.
Jiang Muyan asked blankly, “A bath? Why should I take a bath first?”
Cheng Jianli said, “I was afraid you’d stay up too late and be too exhausted to shower after finishing your homework.”
Jiang Muyan responded with an “Oh,” then added, “Alright, but you have to wait for me. You can’t leave first.”
“It’s fine. I also think it’s too late today, so I’ll stay,” Cheng Jianli made the decision after some thought. “You absolutely must submit your homework tomorrow.”
“Teacher Xiao Cheng, are you really staying over tonight?” Jiang Muyan sounded delighted.
Cheng Jianli gave a soft “Mm,” and Jiang Muyan immediately went out to tell Uncle Liu, “Uncle Liu, go prepare a guest room for Teacher Xiao Cheng. She’s staying the night.”
“Understood, Young Miss,” Uncle Liu replied with a smile.
About half an hour later, after dinner, the two returned to the room. Jiang Muyan seemed completely relaxed, sprawling on her large blue bed the moment she entered, limbs stretched out as she stared at the ceiling.
Cheng Jianli stood beside her, looking down. “Had enough lying around?”
At the sound of her voice, Jiang Muyan’s nerves instantly tensed, and she bolted upright.
Cheng Jianli said, “You haven’t finished your homework yet. If you had, I’d let you rest, but for now, go take a shower first, then complete your assignments.”
Jiang Muyan groaned, “Teacher Xiao Cheng, why are you so strict?”
Cheng Jianli had just turned away and didn’t catch her words. She glanced back. “What did you say?”
“Nothing! I just think your dedication is something I should learn from!” Jiang Muyan quickly scrambled off the bed. “I’ll go shower now.”
Watching Jiang Muyan slip into the bathroom, Cheng Jianli couldn’t help but chuckle softly before sitting back at the desk to correct the math test from earlier.
Inside the bathroom, Jiang Muyan washed her hands while glancing around. Unbidden, yesterday’s events resurfaced in her mind, had she really said she wanted to drag Cheng Jianli into the bathtub and strip her naked?
How could she have been so outrageous?!
Jiang Muyan inwardly lamented. What if Cheng Jianli had already silently labeled her as some kind of pervert?
She was now painfully aware of how alcohol could lead to regrettable decisions. She admitted she enjoyed seeing Cheng Jianli blush because of her, but definitely not like this!
Her wife was still a high schooler, pure and innocent. She absolutely could not let any indecent thoughts take root, even if they were living together now!
After sternly warning herself a few times, Jiang Muyan finally began her shower.
Meanwhile, outside, the deeper Cheng Jianli delved into correcting Jiang Muyan’s test, the more her frown deepened. Though there was improvement, she was still making too many mistakes on basic problems.
She’d have to get Jiang Muyan to start an error notebook to work through these issues.
Twenty minutes later, Cheng Jianli finally finished grading the entire math test. Seeing that Jiang Muyan wasn’t done showering, she rubbed her shoulders and slumped onto the desk to rest. Today had been exhausting.
At some point, as she teetered on the edge of sleep, she heard the bathroom door open.
Then, someone approached the desk, carrying the warmth of steam. Cheng Jianli knew it was Jiang Muyan, but she didn’t want to move, she just wanted to keep her eyes closed and stay like this.
A hand began quietly tidying the study materials on the desk. Cheng Jianli thought Jiang Muyan had given up on studying and was about to sit up when, suddenly, warm fingers brushed against her earlobe, gently tucking a loose strand of hair behind it.
Cheng Jianli’s heart skipped a beat, but she remained still. That hand gently tucked away the stray hairs by her ear, followed by something soft drawing near, accompanied by warm, familiar breaths.
Just as Cheng Jianli couldn’t keep up the act any longer and was about to sit up, Jiang Muyan’s devilish voice whispered in her ear: “At your age, how can you possibly sleep?”
