After Transmigrating into a Ridiculous Alpha, I Saved My Aloof Omega Wife - Chapter 26.1
Cheng Jianli lowered her gaze and thought for a moment. Wearing these wet clothes while the wind blew through the window was making her shiver, she really should change quickly.
Besides, it was just changing clothes. Jiang Muyan had done it so effortlessly earlier and didn’t seem to mind.
If she made a big deal out of it, it would just be awkward.
After considering it, Cheng Jianli took the clothes from Jiang Muyan’s hands and pulled down the zipper of her beige school uniform. Watching this scene unfold, Jiang Muyan suddenly realized something.
Wait, was Cheng Jianli undressing in front of her?!
Jiang Muyan’s mind instantly went into overdrive. No! Absolutely not! Even though she really wanted to take things further with Cheng Jianli, her wife had already said she wouldn’t date in high school and wanted to focus on studying. How could she lead her astray like this?!
Not to mention, she had promised to maintain a purely platonic friendship with Cheng Jianli!
So Jiang Muyan immediately grabbed Cheng Jianli’s wrist. “Wait!”
Cheng Jianli had already undone half the buttons on her shirt, revealing collarbones as pale as frost. She looked up at Jiang Muyan in confusion. “What’s wrong?”
Jiang Muyan spoke sternly, “How can you just undress in front of someone like that?!”
Cheng Jianli: “?”
“You did the same thing just now,” Cheng Jianli said calmly. “Besides, didn’t you say you’d differentiate into an omega? Our primary and secondary genders are the same, it shouldn’t be a problem.”
Jiang Muyan wanted to strangle her past self for claiming to be an omega. “Even if we’re the same gender, don’t you have any sense of caution at all?!”
Cheng Jianli frowned. “…You want me to be cautious of you?”
Jiang Muyan realized she had dug her own grave. “That’s not what I meant, just, I don’t want you undressing in front of anyone!!!” she wailed, her voice full of distress. “I don’t want it, I don’t want it, I don’t want it!!!”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
“Don’t worry, I don’t have that kind of habit,” Cheng Jianli turned her face away, her long lashes fluttering slightly. “I’m soaked all over. If I don’t change, I’ll catch a cold.”
Jiang Muyan glanced around the room was small and messy, with nowhere else to sit. “Then wait a second. I’ll cover my eyes.”
“Cover your eyes?” Cheng Jianli’s expression remained blank. “Are you sure?”
Jiang Muyan declared righteously, “Of course! I’m a very upright person, you know.”
Cheng Jianli let out an exasperated laugh. “Then do you remember last night?”
Jiang Muyan had her hands over her eyes, plunged into darkness. “Last night? What about it?”
Cheng Jianli said, “Last night, after you came home drunk, you said in the bathroom that you were going to strip me naked and you didn’t cover your eyes then.”
The air froze for five seconds.
“Ah?!?!!”
A horrified scream erupted from the employee changing room.
Jiang Muyan’s face turned deathly pale. “Seriously?! You’re not messing with me?! I really said that?!”
Cheng Jianli turned her face away slightly. “I don’t lie.”
Jiang Muyan gulped. “Teacher Cheng! I didn’t mean it! I was probably drunk last night, so I was talking nonsense! I didn’t have any ulterior motives…”
“Tell me I didn’t actually strip you,” Jiang Muyan pleaded, on the verge of tears. She had no memory of this at all.
Why couldn’t she remember a single thing?
She only remembered getting drunk last night, lying in bed staring at the ceiling, she definitely hadn’t done anything else!
Cheng Jianli remained silent for a moment before replying, “No.”
“You’re just saying that.”
“That’s a relief, you scared me,” Jiang Muyan patted her chest upon hearing the word “no,” finally able to relax a little.
It seemed she still had self-control even when drunk.
A woman with self-control is the most beautiful.
Jiang Muyan secretly praised herself in her heart before saying to Cheng Jianli, “But why did you only tell me about this now?”
Cheng Jianli replied, “It’s not exactly good news.”
As she spoke, a faint blush inevitably colored the tips of her ears.
“You’re right,” Jiang Muyan didn’t notice this and instead sincerely apologized, “I’m sorry, Teacher Cheng. I must have had too much to drink last night and said some strange things.”
“But you have to believe I respect you deeply,” Jiang Muyan vowed, raising a clenched fist to her chest with conviction, “I don’t have a single improper thought about you, our friendship will always remain pure!”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
Cheng Jianli softly hummed in acknowledgment, “I need to change clothes. Wait for me outside.”
“Okay,” Jiang Muyan turned around, “I’ll be right outside. Call me if you need anything.”
Jiang Muyan left the changing room and stood guard by the door like a sentinel.
A few minutes later, Cheng Jianli emerged fully dressed. Jiang Muyan approached her eagerly, “Teacher Cheng, you’re done.”
Cheng Jianli nodded. You Xia’s clothes ran large they fit her perfectly, while they would have been slightly tight on Jiang Muyan.
But it didn’t matter; it was still better than wet clothes.
“Uncle Liu just texted me. He’ll be here in ten minutes,” Jiang Muyan said, “He went to look for your bicycle first.”
“Alright,” Cheng Jianli replied, then added, “By the way, the monthly exams are coming up soon. I’ve been tutoring you on the basics lately you haven’t forgotten, have you?”
“Of course not,” Jiang Muyan scratched her head sheepishly, “The material you’ve covered with me should be enough to pass.”
Cheng Jianli said, “As long as you’ve been studying seriously.”
After chatting for a while, Uncle Liu finally arrived. They bid farewell to You Xia, promising to return the clothes to her at school the next day.
Jiang Muyan let Cheng Jianli get into the car first, then rolled down the window to wink at You Xia, “Did you get to see my friend today?”
You Xia paused, realizing Jiang Muyan was referring to Xu Yinghe. Remembering the girl’s face, she smiled faintly and lowered her head, “Yes, I did.”
“That’s good,” Jiang Muyan sighed in relief, rolling up the window, “We’ll be going now. See you.”
After the car had been moving for a while, Cheng Jianli asked softly, “What were you talking to her about just now?”
“Hmm?” Jiang Muyan turned her head, “I asked if she’d seen Xu Yinghe today.”
“Xu Yinghe… that’s your friend, right?” Cheng Jianli said, “Actually, she was the one who called me last night to pick you up.”
Jiang Muyan chuckled foolishly, “Teacher Cheng, you’re so kind. I knew you’d come for me.”
The other girl’s unreserved, pure smile made Cheng Jianli’s heart skip a beat. She turned her face away slightly, murmuring, “There’s no need to thank me. You’ve helped me plenty too, this is what I should do.”
No sooner had the words left her mouth than Jiang Muyan grabbed Cheng Jianli’s hand.
Cheng Jianli turned her head to see Jiang Muyan tightly gripping her hand. She didn’t pull away, only asking, “What’s wrong?”
“I thought you might be cold,” Jiang Muyan said. “Let me warm your hands while you rest for a bit.”
Having run around in the rain all day, Cheng Jianli was indeed exhausted. She smiled and replied, “Alright.”
Then obediently leaned back in the seat and closed her eyes to rest.
When they arrived home, the housekeeper brought clean loungewear for Jiang Muyan and Cheng Jianli. Noticing the clothes Jiang Muyan was wearing, the housekeeper asked curiously, “Young Miss, are these your clothes?”
“No, someone lent these to me and Teacher Cheng,” Jiang Muyan said with a smile. “Please wash and dry them properly, we need to return them tomorrow. Thank you.”
Watching this scene, Cheng Jianli once again felt that despite Jiang Muyan’s family being extremely wealthy, the girl had no spoiled habits. She was polite and kind to everyone.
After the housekeepers left with the clothes, Jiang Muyan changed into her loungewear and brought a set for Cheng Jianli too.
The soft, cool fabric felt comfortable. Seeing Cheng Jianli in the loungewear, Jiang Muyan said sincerely, “Teacher Cheng, how do you make even sleepwear look so good?”
Jiang Muyan’s oversized pajamas hung loosely on Cheng Jianli’s frame. Clearing her throat lightly, Cheng Jianli asked, “Really?”
“Of course!” Jiang Muyan nodded emphatically. “Teacher Cheng, you’re just so beautiful.”
Cheng Jianli replied, “I think you’re prettier than me.”
“Well obviously,” Jiang Muyan said with shy confidence. “I know that already, hehe.”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
She shouldn’t have complimented her.
The two began working on math homework. Since the housekeeper had already dried her hair, Cheng Jianli left it down, the mingled scents of flowers and mango lingering around Jiang Muyan.
Jiang Muyan had been focused on her homework, but the fragrance made her feel lightheaded. Strangely, the back of her neck grew increasingly itchy, especially after being out in the rain, as if something might sprout there.
Could she actually be growing a brain back there?
Concerned, Jiang Muyan picked up her phone.
Noticing this, Cheng Jianli set down her pen. “Looking up answers?”
Using phones during study sessions was against Cheng Jianli’s rules for Jiang Muyan. “If you don’t understand a problem, you can ask me,” Cheng Jianli said. “Looking up answers becomes addictive, you’ll lose the ability to think independently.”
“No,” Jiang Muyan said hesitantly. “I wanted to know if it’s possible for a brain to grow from the back of your neck.”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
“My neck itches so much I can’t concentrate,” Jiang Muyan complained. “Teacher Cheng, could you check for me?”
Frowning slightly, Cheng Jianli said, “Turn around and lift your hair.”
Jiang Muyan obeyed. Cheng Jianli examined the back of her neck pale and unblemished, with nothing unusual. No newly formed glands, no distinctive pheromone scent.
Cheng Jianli privately doubted Jiang Muyan could present so early. After all, the girl’s mentality was still immature, hardly befitting a high schooler. “There’s nothing there,” she said.
“Really?” Jiang Muyan rubbed her neck again. “Now that you mention it, maybe it’s psychological. It doesn’t seem to itch anymore.”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
“By the way, Teacher Cheng,” Jiang Muyan suddenly remembered something and asked with concern, “has the wound on the back of your neck not healed yet? It’s been a month already.”
