After Transmigrating into a Ridiculous Alpha, I Saved My Aloof Omega Wife - Chapter 22
The next day after school, Jiang Muyan had made plans with Luo Jiajia and the others for the birthday party. She packed her bag early and said to Cheng Jianli, “Teacher Cheng, I’m heading out now.”
Cheng Jianli nodded. “Have fun.”
Before transmigrating into the novel, Jiang Muyan had loved attending all kinds of parties. Back then, she had many friends and would occasionally get drunk. Her friends always said she was hilarious when intoxicated, constantly calling Cheng Jianli for no reason.
She wouldn’t say anything just giggle foolishly into the phone.
Strangely enough, Cheng Jianli never got angry. Once, Jiang Muyan called her twenty-seven times in half an hour, and Cheng Jianli picked up every single one, listening to Jiang Muyan drunkenly shouting “wife” over and over.
In the end, Cheng Jianli came over from the research institute to take her home.
Thinking about these memories made Jiang Muyan happy, but now that her wife had transmigrated into the novel with her, she was the only one who remembered these moments, which left her feeling a little regretful.
Bar.
Luo Jiajia had only invited people from Class 1 to her birthday party about seven or eight in total. Tang Yu had arrived early and was already in the private room, a lollipop in his mouth as he played games enthusiastically with the others.
Xu Yinghe was wearing a black miniskirt today, her almond-shaped eyes bright. She greeted Jiang Muyan when she arrived. “Why are you so late?”
“Class 2 finished later. Where’s Jiajia?” Jiang Muyan looked around.
Xu Yinghe said, “She went to get the cake.”
Jiang Muyan smiled. “Then I’ll cover the bill today, consider it my birthday gift to Jiajia.”
Actually, when she first arrived, the bar manager had stopped her. After some questioning, she learned that Jiang Huai was a shareholder in this bar. The manager asked if she wanted the place cleared out, but Jiang Muyan quickly waved her hand in refusal.
Everyone was having a good time, why ruin the fun?
“Wow, the young miss is being generous!” A nearby boy overheard Jiang Muyan’s offer and immediately looked at her with starry eyes. “Can I order some expensive drinks?”
“Of course. It’s a birthday, just enjoy yourselves.” Jiang Muyan’s smile was pure and carefree.
Luo Jiajia was dressed like a little princess today. She cut the cake and sang the birthday song, the shifting lights making her look even more adorable and lively.
Meanwhile, Xu Yinghe sat quietly beside Jiang Muyan, her expression restrained.
Luo Jiajia had once joked that Xu Yinghe had a kind of “looks-down-on-everyone” elegance. Xu Yinghe had merely flicked her forehead in response, offering no rebuttal.
“Young miss, want a drink?” In the dim lighting, Tang Yu leaned over and placed a glass on the table.
Jiang Muyan propped her chin on her hand. “You sure you want to drink with me?”
Tang Yu raised an eyebrow. “? Are you good at drinking?”
Jiang Muyan grinned confidently. “Of course.”
Tang Yu smirked. “Let’s test that.”
Jiang Muyan said, “Whoever loses runs three laps outside.”
Luo Jiajia immediately sat next to Jiang Muyan and glared at Tang Yu. “That’s too easy. If Tang Yu loses, he has to do my homework.”
Jiang Muyan: “…”
What started as a challenge between two quickly turned into a drinking game with seven or eight people joining in, each downing quite a few glasses.
After who knows how long, Xu Yinghe watched Jiang Muyan gulp down drink after drink and couldn’t help but stop her. “Alright, you’re being way too serious. Why drink so much?”
Jiang Muyan downed another glass. “Because I have a competitive spirit!”
Xu Yinghe: “…”
“The desire to win isn’t that important, and Tang Yu has already passed out,” Xu Yinghe said, glancing at Tang Yu who was slumped drunk on the sofa.
Jiang Muyan took a couple of seconds to process this before blinking and exclaiming, “Then I won! Hahahahaha…”
“Yes, yes, you won,” Xu Yinghe said helplessly. “Everyone’s drunk now, so you should stop drinking too. Take a rest for a while.”
Jiang Muyan was indeed feeling dizzy. Seeing the mix of drunkenness and drowsiness on her face, Xu Yinghe sighed. “Forget it, you should just go home and sleep.”
Xu Yinghe then said, “Jiajia, take Jiang Muyan home. It’s too late now.”
Luo Jiajia, who had been singing with others, came over at Xu Yinghe’s request and saw Jiang Muyan sprawled on the sofa, her face flushed, clearly drunk.
Luo Jiajia said cautiously, “How did she get this drunk? Uncle Jiang Huai isn’t going to blame us, is he?”
Xu Yinghe rubbed her temples. “Who told her and Tang Yu to be so competitive, treating alcohol like soda?”
Luo Jiajia crouched beside the sofa and patted Jiang Muyan’s shoulder. “Miss, where’s your phone?”
Jiang Muyan’s eyes were hazy with drunkenness as she mumbled, “…Wh-what phone?”
She was definitely wasted.
“Your phone,” Xu Yinghe said, helping Jiang Muyan sit up so she could lean against the sofa. “You’re drunk. Call someone to pick you up.”
Jiang Muyan let out an “Oh” and instinctively slurred, “Then call my wife… tell her to come get me…”
“Your wife?” Xu Yinghe and Luo Jiajia exchanged glances, confirming she was truly out of it. “Are you okay? You don’t have a wife.”
“I do have a wife,” Jiang Muyan insisted, her cheeks flushed from the alcohol. The exposed collarbone beneath her loosened school uniform collar was strikingly beautiful. She mumbled drowsily, “Call my wife! I want her to pick me up. My wife is amazing, top talent at the research institute, you know? Get her to come! I want her to pick me up!”
Xu Yinghe and Luo Jiajia found Jiang Muyan’s drunken rambling amusing and couldn’t help playing along. “Then what’s your wife’s number?”
Jiang Muyan finally fumbled in her pocket, rustling around for her phone. Once she found it, she tossed it to Xu Yingan and hugged the wine bottle, blinking blearily.
With no other choice, Xu Yinghe opened Jiang Muyan’s phone and scrolled through the contacts, only to actually find a number saved under “Wife.”
Xu Yinghe: “…”
She turned to Luo Jiajia. “Who is this?”
Luo Jiajia was equally baffled. “How would I know?”
“Are we really calling?” Xu Yinghe hesitated, glancing between Jiang Muyan and the two characters on the screen. “What do we even say? Maybe we should just call Uncle Liu instead?”
Jiang Muyan, hearing no movement, pouted drunkenly. “Why aren’t you calling? Give it back, I’ll do it myself!” she babbled. “I want to call my wife! If you don’t let her pick me up, you must be trying to get me drunk!”
With that, she started swaying and reaching for her phone again.
“Alright, alright, sit still first.” Xu Yinghe motioned for Luo Jiajia to hold Jiang Muyan steady to avoid any accidents with the glasses.
With a mix of curiosity and unease, she dialed the number.
The phone rang twice then connected.
A cool voice came through the receiver: “Hello.”
Xu Yinghe suddenly felt she’d heard this voice somewhere before. She glanced down at the contact name before responding, “Hi, I’m Jiang Muyan’s friend. There’s a situation with Jiang Muyan…”
“Jiang Muyan?” Cheng Jianli paused her writing, “What happened to her?”
Xu Yinghe had already recognized who it was.
The class monitor from Class 2, Cheng Jianli.
Why would Jiang Muyan have saved such a contact name for her?
Xu Yinghe hesitated: “Well, she’s drunk… Could you come pick her up?”
Cheng Jianli was momentarily stunned: “Is she alone?”
In the background, singing and clinking bottles could be heard from the private karaoke room.
Xu Yinghe continued: “She’s completely wasted right now, keeps calling for her wife, I mean, keep asking for you to come get her. Could you come over now?”
Cheng Jianli said: “…Are you sure you dialed the right number?”
Xu Yinghe checked the contact’s name again: “You are Cheng Jianli, right?”
Cheng Jianli: “Yes.”
