After Transmigrating into a Ridiculous Alpha, I Saved My Aloof Omega Wife - Chapter 16
The bell rang, signaling the end of math class and also the end of Jiang Muyan and Cheng Jianli’s punishment of standing in the corner. Jiang Muyan stretched her legs and complained, “So tired!”
Though she complained, she didn’t say a single bad word about the math teacher.
Just then, Jiang Muyan’s best friend, Xu Yinghe, walked out of Class 1 and immediately spotted her. She approached and asked, “Jiang Muyan, what are you doing standing by the wall?”
Jiang Muyan replied, “I was being punished last class.”
Xu Yinghe burst out laughing. “Did you forget to hand in your homework again?”
“Don’t make things up, I did hand it in,” Jiang Muyan groaned, covering her face. “Besides, even if I didn’t, there’s no way she wouldn’t have.”
Xu Yinghe turned her head, she had noticed Cheng Jianli standing beside Jiang Muyan earlier, but in this school, she never bothered to greet anyone from a poor background.
Still, she was a little surprised. Why would Cheng Jianli be punished like this?
“I’m heading back first,” Cheng Jianli said before turning to return to the classroom.
Jiang Muyan wanted to call out to her, but Cheng Jianli had already gone inside. Xu Yinghe nudged Jiang Muyan’s shoulder, incredulous. “Seriously? You’re actually trying to get close to Class 2’s study rep?”
“Why did you ignore her?” Jiang Muyan said unhappily. “You know she’s my friend, right?”
Xu Yinghe knew Jiang Muyan had noticed and raised an eyebrow. “What, are you upset?”
“Of course! Would you be happy if your friend ignored your other friend?”
Xu Yinghe shrugged and didn’t answer.
“Where’s Jiajia? Why isn’t she with you?”
“Oh, she went to the physics teacher’s office,” Xu Yinghe said. “By the way, our classes have P.E. together this afternoon.”
P.E.?
If there was one thing Jiang Muyan excelled at, it was sports. Her dad had once sent her to taekwondo classes, and she never skipped a single day, she’d rather get beaten up by the coach than sit through school lessons.
Xu Yinghe added, “We have to run 800 meters today, so be prepared.”
Jiang Muyan nodded, exchanged a few more words with Xu Yinghe, and returned to class.
Cheng Jianli was already working on problems. When deep in thought, a loose strand of hair would fall by her ear, making her look soft and a little adorable.
Jiang Muyan had planned to admire her wife quietly for a while, but just then, a boy walked over and started talking to Cheng Jianli.
He was quite handsome, with a bright smile, and for some reason, it made Jiang Muyan feel a pang of jealousy. The worst part? Cheng Jianli actually talked to him for a long time!
Jiang Muyan nearly lost control of her metaphorical forty-meter blade. She hurried over just as the boy was leaving.
“Xiao Cheng, what were you two talking about?”
Cheng Jianli looked up, surprised to see Jiang Muyan back. “What do you mean?”
“You were chatting with him just now!” Jiang Muyan pouted. “And you said so much to him!”
Cheng Jianli: “? I don’t think I said that much.”
Jiang Muyan clutched her chest dramatically. “You totally did! Why are you so stingy with words for me? You’re biased!”
Cheng Jianli: “…He just came over to ask when Class 2 has biology class.”
“Besides,” she added calmly, “I really didn’t say much.”
“I don’t believe you,” Jiang Muyan declared. “Unless you talk to me right now.”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
She couldn’t understand why someone who’d just been punished by standing could still be in such high spirits.
“Weren’t you chatting outside for quite a while too?” Cheng Jianli clearly had no intention of indulging Jiang Muyan’s antics and was determined to continue with her homework.
Jiang Muyan: “But Xu Yinghe is my friend.”
Cheng Jianli paused her writing: “That boy just came to ask me when the physiology class would be. I’m the class monitor and have the schedule.”
Jiang Muyan sat down sulkily, but after a while, she suddenly realized something was off. She called out again: “Teacher Cheng.”
Cheng Jianli: “What is it?”
Jiang Muyan looked somewhat embarrassed as she hesitantly asked: “Teacher Cheng, would you be unhappy if I chatted with others?”
Cheng Jianli: “No.”
Jiang Muyan asked in surprise: “Huh? Weren’t you jealous just now?”
Cheng Jianli frowned: “Why would I be jealous?”
Cheng Jianli actually wasn’t jealous!
Facing this reality, Jiang Muyan drooped her head and slumped onto the desk.
After a while, she still couldn’t resist looking up to ask: “So what exactly did you talk about with that boy?”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
“I told him the physiology class would be the first week after the monthly exam,” Cheng Jianli replied.
“Physiology class,” Jiang Muyan pondered, “seems like a field I’ve never explored before.”
Cheng Jianli glanced up: “That’s obvious.”
Otherwise she wouldn’t keep asking for pheromone blockers every day, mistaking them for regular band-aids.
Remembering this, a rare smile appeared on Cheng Jianli’s face.
Jiang Muyan didn’t know what Cheng Jianli was thinking about and just lay on the desk.
So the physiology class was still a month away not too long, since neither she nor Cheng Jianli had presented yet.
She had considered looking up ABO world information online before, but the text gave her a headache, so she closed the page.
Better to wait for the teacher’s explanation.
As expected, the afternoon PE class was held jointly for Class 1 and Class 2.
No one knew how Hongchuan Seventh High arranged their schedule, it was currently the hottest time of day when the sun beat down mercilessly on the empty playground, instantly scorching exposed skin.
The PE teacher, a thirty-something alpha in sportswear, held a stopwatch: “Everyone gather here.”
“Jiang Muyan!” Luo Jiajia spotted her immediately and came over smiling to greet her.
Xu Yinghe followed behind, and Jiang Muyan said to them: “This weather is really too hot, I feel like I’m melting.”
Luo Jiajia shielded her eyes from the blazing sun: “Tell me about it. I applied multiple layers of sunscreen before coming out.”
Xu Yinghe pointed nearby: “Let’s hang our uniform jackets on the exercise equipment over there. Our class put them there.”
Jiang Muyan promptly went to hang her jacket. Many Class 2 students had also left their uniforms draped over the equipment to collect after class.
Seeing Cheng Jianli approach, Jiang Muyan asked: “Teacher Cheng, do you want to put your uniform there too?”
Cheng Jianli glanced at Jiang Muyan, who wore a pure black T-shirt that made her skin appear even fairer. Her cheeks were slightly flushed, probably from jogging over, and she was tying up her hair while speaking, exuding a refreshingly clean aura.
Cheng Jianli said: “I’ll pass.”
“Aren’t you hot?” Jiang Muyan asked in confusion.
Cheng Jianli didn’t know why, but she felt the scent-blocking patch on the back of her neck inexplicably heating up. She shook her head, “I’m not hot.”
At that moment, Luo Jiajia seemed to notice something on Jiang Muyan’s neck and asked curiously, “Jiang Muyan, what’s that on the back of your neck?”
Cheng Jianli’s heart skipped a beat as she heard Jiang Muyan reply with a smile, “Just a band-aid. Mango-scented, I really like it.”
Luo Jiajia didn’t look too closely and simply said, “Oh, I thought it was…”
Before she could finish, the PE teacher’s voice rang out, “Class 1, gather over here!”
Luo Jiajia quickly pulled Xu Yinghe along to join the group. Jiang Muyan touched the band-aid on the back of her neck, wondering if she had placed it incorrectly.
