After Transmigrating into a Ridiculous Alpha, I Saved My Aloof Omega Wife - Chapter 15
The math teacher, surnamed Li, was in his fifties, a stern and unsmiling beta.
He wore thick, wooden-framed glasses and began by going over a few simple math problems before asking, “Have all the homework assignments from the past few days been collected?”
The class replied in unison, “Yes, teacher.”
Teacher Li let out a slow “Oh” and said, “Good, let’s begin the lesson.”
With that, he pulled out the attendance sheet and skimmed through it. “…Why is there one extra person in class?”
True to his reputation, the math teacher was sharp with numbers. Jiang Muyan had no choice but to raise her hand. “Teacher, my name is Jiang Muyan. I transferred from Class 1.”
Teacher Li glanced at her. He didn’t recall seeing her in Class 2 before. “Jiang Muyan, is it? Alright, I’ll remember that.”
He motioned for her to lower her hand and started the lesson.
Class 2’s progress was decent they had already covered all the math topics and were now in full review mode. Halfway through the lesson, some students in the back weren’t paying attention, prompting Teacher Li to scold them, “What are you boys in the back doing? Is a pencil really that entertaining?”
“You’re in your final year of high school and still not listening do you already know how to solve all these problems?” He rapped the chalk against the blackboard, glaring at them sternly.
Jiang Muyan thought to herself that Teacher Li was indeed quite strict. But compared to his temper, she was far more afraid of Cheng Jianli’s anger.
Teacher Li didn’t lecture for long before slamming his teaching materials down, his mustache bristling with irritation. “You’re all utterly shameless today. Do I really have to call people up to solve problems on the board?”
“You, the boy at the very back, come up and solve this geometry proof.”
The boy who had been chatting earlier immediately wilted like a deflated eggplant as he stood up. Those around him stifled giggles, watching him trudge to the front.
Teacher Li wiped all four blackboards clean and wrote out four major problems. He began calling names one by one. “Class representative, solve the second one.”
Jiang Muyan froze as Cheng Jianli stood up. She quickly moved aside to make space, but then Teacher Li suddenly said, “You there, Jiang Muyan, right? Don’t sit back down. You’re solving the third one.”
Jiang Muyan: “???”
Teacher Li flipped through the attendance sheet. “Might as well see how well you’ve grasped math.”
“And for the last one you, the student in the second row who was laughing so happily earlier. Come up.” With all four students assigned, Teacher Li stood to the side, sipping from his thermos as he watched them work.
Jiang Muyan felt like walking to the blackboard was no different from marching to the execution grounds her legs simply refused to move!
By the time she finally made it to the front, Cheng Jianli had already started writing. Her expression was calm as she swiftly listed all the formulas with the chalk before solving the answer.
Jiang Muyan stared at the problem on the board in silence: “…”
Unless she was mistaken, this was a major problem involving ellipses.
But… she didn’t even remember any of the equations related to ellipses!
Cheng Jianli’s problem was about permutations and combinations. She was already more than halfway done, while Jiang Muyan hadn’t written a single word.
Jiang Muyan was about to tell Teacher Li she couldn’t solve it and bolt back to her seat when Cheng Jianli suddenly spoke softly, without turning her head.
“d equals x minus 8. AB divided by d equals 0.5. Based on the equation of AB, simplifying gives the trajectory of point A…”
Cheng Jianli deliberately left the final steps unwritten, frowning slightly as she prompted Jiang Muyan under her breath, “Hurry up and write.”
Jiang Muyan finally realized Cheng Jianli was giving her the answer and hurriedly wrote it down, feeling a bit dazed.
Was her wife helping her?
So happy!
Pink bubbles instantly filled Jiang Muyan’s heart.
She turned to look at Cheng Jianli, who was still slowly solving the final answer. Her fair, slender fingers held the chalk, and her delicate wrist swayed slightly in front of Jiang Muyan’s eyes.
Jiang Muyan, utterly hopeless, stared blankly again. Cheng Jianli, feeling slightly uncomfortable under her gaze, was about to continue when a stack of lecture notes suddenly descended from above and smacked Jiang Muyan on the head.
“Ah!” Jiang Muyan covered her head, it didn’t hurt, but it startled her.
Teacher Li snapped, “What are you looking at? Are you two working on the same problem?”
“And Cheng Jianli, why are you solving it so slowly?” Teacher Li turned to her. “Is this problem difficult? Why are you stuck on the last step?”
This might have been the first time Cheng Jianli encountered such a situation, leaving her unsure how to respond. But Jiang Muyan couldn’t hold back and blurted out anxiously, “Teacher! I was the one looking at her!”
Teacher Li froze, then laughed in exasperation. “You like looking at her that much? Should I send both of you outside to stare at each other until class ends?”
Whispers and stifled giggles rose from the students below. A faint pink-tinged Cheng Jianli’s earlobes.
Jiang Muyan scratched her cheek. “Teacher, why are you rewarding me?”
The class fell silent for three seconds before erupting in laughter.
Student A: “HAHAHAHAHA, is the young miss a comedian or what?”
Student B: “So Jiang Muyan isn’t good at studying either! Finally, we don’t have to endure Class 2 being full of geniuses!”
Student C: “But the class rep’s face really is pretty. No wonder the young miss got distracted, I could stare at her all day too.”
Student D: “Stop staring! The class rep is so aloof, don’t make her uncomfortable…”
The previously dull classroom instantly heated up while Teacher Li’s face darkened several shades. “Both of you, get out and stand in the hallway!”
Jiang Muyan: “…”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
Standing in the corridor, the two remained silent.
This was Cheng Jianli’s first time being punished like this. Jiang Muyan shuffled closer and whispered, “Little Teacher Cheng, I’m sorry.”
Cheng Jianli replied calmly, “Teacher Li is strict. He probably heard me giving you the answer.”
Jiang Muyan blinked. “Huh? Really?”
Cheng Jianli: “Mm.”
Jiang Muyan: “Then why did you still help me?”
Cheng Jianli: “You helped me before. Now I’ve helped you. We’re even.”
Jiang Muyan: “???”
“Why? Are you trying to draw a line between us?” Jiang Muyan asked in horror.
“No,” Cheng Jianli said softly. “It’s just because you helped me first.”
Hearing that her wife had no intention of cutting ties, Jiang Muyan started grinning foolishly again. “That’s what I thought! You don’t have to overthink it. I helped you because I wanted to, hahahahaha…”
Cheng Jianli didn’t respond. In her over two years at Hongchuan Seventh High, this was the first time she’d been kicked out of class and because of a transfer student, no less.
Though being expelled from the classroom wasn’t pleasant, having Jiang Muyan by her side somehow made Cheng Jianli feel unexpectedly at ease.
The only downside was that she could still feel Jiang Muyan’s gaze fixed on her.
A minute passed, then two, then five… That scorching gaze didn’t fade, it only grew more intense.
Cheng Jianli felt increasingly uncomfortable under the stare, her cheeks-tinged pink. “We’re already standing outside as punishment. What are you still looking at?”
She turned her face away awkwardly, revealing only a small patch of pale, slightly scrunched skin.
Jiang Muyan sighed dramatically. “Just following the teacher’s orders.”
Cheng Jianli: “?”
Jiang Muyan said earnestly, “He told me to keep looking at you until class ends.”
Cheng Jianli: “…You’re really obedient, aren’t you?”
