After the Simp Omega Comes to His Senses, the Alpha Panics - Chapter 15
The entire table grew heavy and tense due to Qi You’s arrival. Zilan worked on easing the atmosphere on the side, managing with some difficulty to liven up the mood at the table.
From time to time, she glanced at Wen Yuluo. Seeing that the meat on his plate was completely untouched and he showed no signs of eating, she anxiously slid her own plate over to him. “Xiao Yu, eat more. Look how thin you’ve gotten.”
Xiao Yu?
Her voice wasn’t loud, but it was just enough for everyone around to hear clearly.
Qi You thought to himself, Did she just call him Xiao Yu?
“Zilan, stop minding me and eat your own food.”
Zilan pouted and whispered quietly into Wen Yuluo’s ear. “Why are you being so stiff? Go on and seduce him! The guy is right next to you! If you don’t make a move now, when else will you?”
Seduce?
Terrified that Qi You might overhear, Wen Yuluo gave Zilan a warning glare, forcing a tight, awkward smile. “Shut up.”
Zilan nodded and gave Wen Yuluo a gentle shove.
Caught completely off guard and losing his balance, Wen Yuluo tipped backward straight toward Qi You.
The wine and water on Qi You’s hand splashed all over his clothes from the impact, but he didn’t care about that. Moving with quick reflexes, he steadied Wen Yuluo. “Xiao, classmate, are you alright?”
Wen Yuluo half-reclined in the crook of Qi You’s arm as a wave of mint-scented pheromones rushed straight into his nasal cavity.
Jolted awake, he sprang straight up. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
“Oh my!” Zilan faked a loud gasp, shoving a napkin she had prepared in advance straight into Wen Yuluo’s hand. “Xiao Yu, how can you be so clumsy? Hurry up and wipe him off.”
Wen Yuluo glared at Zilan, his teeth itching with frustration.
Zilan blinked at him with a subtle smile.
This commotion prompted the Omegas at the neighboring table to mobilize en masse, each eagerly offering their own clean handkerchiefs to Qi You.
Qi You waved a hand, muttered a word of thanks, and pulled the napkin right out of Wen Yuluo’s hand to wipe the spilled wine off himself.
The Omegas had no choice but to retreat in dejection.
Seeing Wen Yuluo still standing there foolishly, Qi You said, “Sit down, I’m fine.”
Giving Zilan another glare for her gloating, Wen Yuluo sat back down.
The people at the table chimed in with a teasing suggestion, “Hey Xiao Wen, why are you so clumsy? We punish you to down a bottle of wine to apologize to Senior Qi.”
Qi You was about to say it wasn’t necessary when the person beside him already stated in a decisive tone, “Alright!”, grabbed a bottle of wine, and poured it straight down his throat.
With his eyes closed, Wen Yuluo gulped down the entire bottle of wine in one go.
Both Zilan and Qi You looked on in dumbfounded shock.
The wine gave Wen Yuluo’s lips a glossy sheen, and his eyes were flushed red from drinking. He apologized to Qi You once more, “Qi, Senior, I’m really sorry. Should I compensate you for a new shirt instead?”
“No need. Didn’t you already apologize?”
Qi You glanced over at the person who had instigated Wen Yuluo into drinking. “Everyone, please stop making jokes like this. Drinking like that is terrible for your stomach.”
As soon as Qi You spoke up, the teasing voices gradually died down.
Wen Yuluo hadn’t had much experience with alcohol. Having chugged it so fiercely, his head was now spinning. Just as he was about to get up to visit the restroom, an Alpha not far away walked toward him with a full glass of wine in hand, looking like he had a specific target.
“Well, well, isn’t this Wen Yuluo? How do you even have the money to attend an event like this? Did your cake sales go pretty well lately?”
Wen Yuluo raised his head, dark stray hairs across his forehead damp with a bit of wine.
Wasn’t this Alpha the exact same man he had rejected last week?
Knowing full well that this guy was just holding a grudge because he got rejected by a Beta and came over to pick a fight, Wen Yuluo ignored him, picked up a piece of lettuce, and shoved it into his mouth.
Seeing Wen Yuluo ignore him, the Alpha grew even angrier. He pinched Wen Yuluo’s chin, forcing him to look straight at him. “You were drinking pretty hard just now, huh? How about this, have a drink with me, and I’ll drop by your cake shop another day to boost your sales so you can make more money.”
Zilan raged, “Are you out of your damn mind? Let go of him!”
Qi You frowned, his dark pupils sinking. Just as he was about to stand up, the glass in front of him was picked up by a slender-fingered hand.
With alcohol flooding his brain, Wen Yuluo grabbed whatever wine glass was closest and splashed the contents straight into the Alpha’s face. “Fuck your mother! What kind of piece of shit are you, daring to make me drink with you? If you’re feeling lonely, go hire a couple of gigolos! Get the fuck out of here!”
“Fuck!”
Humiliated by a Beta, the Alpha lost his mind. “Wen Yuluo! You’ve got some nerve! I’d say you aren’t far from becoming a gigolo yourself, so don’t come crying to me for business later!”
The Alpha raised a long arm, about to strike down, when Qi You pulled Wen Yuluo behind him, grabbed the Alpha’s arm with a grip like iron, and spoke with a voice dripping with irritation, “Watch your mouth. You’re offending my ears.”
“What’s going on, what’s going on?”
The president rushed over. “What is the meaning of this? Student Qi, let go for a moment.”
Qi You shook off the Alpha’s arm and told the president, “I’ve lost my appetite.”
Just how important were exchange students? The university president had stressed dozens of times to take good care of them and bring honor to Yan University. Anyone else could suffer a grievance, but definitely not Qi You! Disregarding right from wrong, the president dragged the troublemaking Alpha away immediately.
“Everyone continue having fun, I’ll handle this, I’ll handle this.”
Startled out of her wits, Zilan hurried over to check on Wen Yuluo once she recovered. “Xiao Yu, are you alright? Holy shit, how can someone be so disgusting? So what if you rejected him? Is there any need to humiliate you like this?”
Wen Yuluo was still dazed. What had he just said out loud?
What had he just said right in front of Qi You?
Damn it, how mortifying.
Watching the red mark left on Wen Yuluo’s chin from the pinch, Qi You lowered his gaze.
Wen Yuluo shook his head. “I’m fine, everyone just forget what just happened.”
At that moment, he wanted nothing more than to dig a hole and crawl inside. Why did his filter completely vanish and cause him to blurt out such trashy words when he panicked? When Qi You said “offending my ears” earlier, he wondered if his own vulgar remarks were included in that.
Wen Yuluo felt like crying without tears, his limbs feeling completely awkward.
Qi You glanced sideways at Wen Yuluo’s reaction and let out a soft chuckle, leaning in close to his ear. “Xiao Yu, you were so fierce just then.”
Wen Yuluo’s face flushed bright red in an instant, shifting colors like a magic trick. “Zilan!”
Zilan snapped upright. “Present!”
“Accompany me to the restroom.”
Qi You?
Stepping out of the restroom, Wen Yuluo splashed handful after handful of water onto his face.
Countless people had called him Xiao Yu before, and he had heard it thousands of times, so why was he completely losing his composure the moment Qi You said it?
Zilan sighed. “Xiao Yu, I think you’re doomed. How are you ever going to compete with those Omegas? While they use every trick in the book to unleash their charm in front of Prince Qi, you, you just keep making a fool of yourself in front of him.”
“Do I need you to tell me?!” Wen Yuluo finally found an opportunity to scold Zilan. “And whose fault is this? Why did you push me earlier?”
Zilan rolled her eyes upward. “Oh my, the stars tonight are so bright.”
Wen Yuluo looked up, but there wasn’t a single star in sight. The bare, desolate night sky had only the moon on duty.
He turned around and walked away.
“I was wrong, I was wrong!” Zilan hurriedly grabbed his arm. “Weren’t I just trying to help you out? The person you like is right beside you, yet you were just sitting there completely motionless, and it made me anxious watching you.”
