When the two of them walked back, Wen Yuluo looked from afar and saw that his and Zilan’s seats had already been taken.

“Damn it, how can those two omegas be so shameless? Sitting in other people’s seats.”

Zilan rolled up her nonexistent sleeves, and just as she was about to rush over in a rage, Wen Yuluo grabbed her arm and asked, “Zilan, are you full?”

Zilan had eaten meat right up to her throat, so she nodded. “Full.”

“Then shall we leave?”

“?”

Zilan asked in confusion, “Why leave? Those are our seats.”

Looking at the two pretty omegas by Qi You’s side, Wen Yuluo inexplicably felt a surge of inferiority.

Having made such a huge fool of himself in front of Qi You just moments ago, it was probably best not to hang around his vicinity too much.

“I am a bit sleepy. If we don’t go back now, the dorm gates are going to lock. Do you have money for a hotel room?”

Wen Yuluo lowered his voice. “Do you think I have any comparison to the omegas by his side? I might as well save myself the humiliation.”

Zilan said angrily, “None of them look as good as you! Yubao, don’t sell yourself short.”

Having been close friends since high school, Zilan naturally thought he was wonderful in every way. Wen Yuluo shook his head helplessly, pulled Zilan along, and the two of them slipped away quietly.

The residents in Wen Yuluo’s dorm were all night owls. Since he was returning so late, the lights were still on, and shouts from playing video games echoed across the bunks.

“Yuluo, you’re back? How was it, was it fun? I heard the dance team members all went. Didn’t you record some videos to share with the brothers?”

The person speaking was the dorm head, Guo Yun, who was hanging half his body off his bed, looking expectantly at Wen Yuluo.

To keep Guo Yun’s eager face from falling, Wen Yuluo offered a remedy. “I will check the campus BBS later to see if anyone else recorded anything.”

“Can BBS videos compare to you recording it in person? I heard the dance team is packed with tender, dewy-fresh omegas. Yuluo, you didn’t really fail to record any, did you?”

Wen Yuluo rubbed the bridge of his nose and was just about to speak when another roommate chimed in playfully, “Oh Guo Yun, do you have to point it out? How embarrassing for Yuluo. We’ve roomed together for two years, haven’t you noticed that Yuluo’s sexual orientation isn’t omega at all?”

Guo Yun had an epiphany. “Then Yuluo, what is your orientation? Do you like betas or alphas?”

Unwilling to waste time answering such boring personal gossip, Wen Yuluo pretended not to hear and headed to the balcony to wash up. The moment he pushed open the balcony door, a wave of mint scent drifted into the air.

His fingertips trembled slightly, and instinctively his gaze drifted toward the source of the scent.

On the usually empty washstand, an extra potted plant had appeared, and it was mint!

A pleasant surprise lit up Wen Yuluo’s face as he picked it up and asked, “Who raised this mint?”

“Oh,” Guo Yun said. “The dorm supervisor said at least one person in each room has to keep a potted green plant. I happened to see someone selling them when I went out today, so I just grabbed one. The dorm head is leading by example here, and since tomorrow is still part of the holiday, the rest of you better hurry up.”

Wen Yuluo cradled the tiny pot of mint affectionately, his high-bridged nose gently sniffing the scent as Qi You’s face suddenly floated into his mind.

It was the exact scent of his pheromones.

His roommates complained, “So annoying, always making us deal with this useless stuff. Can a bunch of rough guys like us keep a plant alive? This is a malicious infringement on plant life!”

“I object!”

“If you object, then I object too!”

Guo Yun clicked his tongue. “What’s there to object about? When plant checks come around and points get docked, you’ll all be crying. Yuluo, what are you planning to raise?”

Unwilling to let go of the plant, Wen Yuluo thought for a moment and said, “If the four of us each raise four different green plants, the scents will clash too much. Since none of you want to do it, leave this to me. I’ll go buy three more pots of mint tomorrow.”

“Our Yubao is practically an angel reincarnated!”

The next day, as soon as Wen Yuluo finished his shift at the bakery, he rushed over to the flower, bird, and fish market. Since mint belonged to the category of green foliage and flower shops were abundant, he searched several stores before finally locating one that carried mint.

The shop owner led him into the warehouse, chatting as they walked. “Not many people raise mint these days. The appearance isn’t flashy, just pure green leaves, so shops don’t usually put them on display.”

Wen Yuluo smiled, wondering what the haughty young master Qi You would think upon hearing those words.

The shop owner slid open the warehouse doors, revealing several pots of mint neatly arranged right next to a blooming-free epiphyllum plant at the very edge.

Wen Yuluo paused for a moment. Having spent two years injecting omega suppressants, he had almost forgotten what his own pheromones smelled like.

He asked, “Why is there still an epiphyllum plant here?”

The shop owner explained, “We didn’t have space for it in the front yard anymore, so we temporarily placed it in the warehouse. As it turned out, these mint plants got spoiled by the epiphyllum’s scent; the moment you take the epiphyllum away, their leaves start withering, as if they can’t live without it. So we just left them together.”

Wen Yuluo had never heard such a rationale before, and couldn’t help being slightly amused. “Then if I want to raise these mint plants well, do I have to buy an epiphyllum plant and take it home too?”

The shop owner chuckled. “That is indeed how it works.”

Wen Yuluo thought to himself, so this was what they called a bundled sale?

With a helpless sigh, he ended up taking the epiphyllum home along with the mint.

Placing the epiphyllum and the mint side by side on his bedside table, Wen Yuluo couldn’t resist pushing the two pots close together, taking out his phone to snap a photo, and setting it as his phone wallpaper.

Wen Yuluo had zero tolerance for this sort of behavior, and without a second thought, he refused. “Finish the assignment before attending to your personal affairs. You are a student, what could possibly be more important than your studies?”

The omega pouted, wearing a pitiful expression. “If I wait until I finish the homework, Senior Qi’s basketball game will already be over.”

Wen Yuluo’s brain short-circuited. “What did you say? Senior Qi is playing basketball?”

“Yeah,” the omega replied, pulling out her pastel-pink phone to show Wen Yuluo. “This is our omega group chat. Omegas watching handsome alphas live longer, so the sisters in the chat are inviting me to extend our lifespans together!”
