- Chapter 51 - This Time, You’re Not Allowed to Touch Me
Ye Chun’er’s voice was as clear and crystalline as flowing water, yet it carried an undercurrent of unforgettable allure, lingering in one’s ears like a subtle hook.
Yan Zhi held her gaze, her expression sharp and unwavering.
Ye Chun’er, however, smiled with the kind of dazzling beauty that could drown out the hostility radiating from Yan Zhi’s eyes.
Watching the two women lock horns, Yan Run wisely kept her mouth shut. Truth be told, she rather liked this sister-in-law—at least the woman had personality.
“This must be Miss Yu, right? I’ve seen your films before,” Ye Chun’er said, as if trying to get closer to Yan Zhi’s family. She then turned to Yan Run and added, “You two sisters look quite alike. Both very beautiful
—Miss Yu is a perfect match for you.”
Coming from a haughty, seductive heiress, the compliment carried its own kind of weight.
Yu Wenxi smiled politely. “Thank you, Miss Ye. You’re very beautiful as well. It’s getting late—my wife and I will take our leave. Hope you enjoy the rest of your evening.”
“You’re just leaving like that?” Yan Zhi asked, surprised.
Yan Run gave her a sympathetic look. “Sis, have fun. I’m rooting for you.”
Yan Zhi: “…” This damn little sister!
After they left, Ye Chun’er called out, “Waiter.”
Yan Zhi frowned. “What now?”
When the waiter arrived, Ye Chun’er said, “Clear all the bowls on the table, and bring me your best bottle of wine.”
“Hold on,” Yan Zhi interjected.
The waiter looked at her, puzzled.
“I have to go,” Yan Zhi said.
“Do as I say,” Ye Chun’er told the waiter sweetly. “I’ll tip generously.”
As the waiter left, Yan Zhi turned back to her, frustrated. “Let me go.”
Ye Chun’er rested her chin in her palm, looking innocently at her. “So even the cool and composed Miss Yan can get flustered.”
Yan Zhi sighed. “Ye Chun’er, I don’t have feelings for you. Why bother liking me? There are plenty of Alphas out there for you to choose from.”
Ye Chun’er chuckled, as if she’d heard a joke. With feigned surprise, she said, “Oh? So Miss Yan thinks she’s not good enough for me? Don’t worry—I don’t mind.”
“Did you even hear what I just said?” Yan Zhi stated.
“I did. But here’s the thing—any Alpha I’ve ever taken an interest in falls into my hands within three days. Boring, right? But you—” she narrowed her eyes in amusement, “—the first time we met, I sent you every signal I could think of, and you didn’t pick up on a single one. You were so… dense. I found it fascinating. Not getting you feels like such a waste.”
So that’s her real motive. Yan Zhi clenched her fists and gave a cold laugh. “Aren’t you afraid your father will lose face if he finds out about this?”
“My father’s actually quite fond of you.” Ye Chun’er replied.
“And if word of your behavior gets out, it could damage your reputation.” Yan Zhi said.
“No big deal. My family’s business is run by my sister. I’m just the spoiled younger one, living off the family fortune without a care. And as for my ‘behavior’—” Ye Chun’er smirked, “—what behavior? I just want to be friends and have a drink with you. It’s not like I’m some shameless stalker.”
Yan Zhi very much wanted to say you’re acting exactly like one.
She stayed seated, trying to keep her composure. Ye Chun’er leaned in closer, her flawless makeup somehow looking even more intense up close. “Be my Alpha, and you’ll be the lucky one. There’s no Omega with a better figure than mine.”
——
Meanwhile, in the car, Yan Run was still thinking about Ye Chun’er. “That Miss Ye is clearly trouble. I can only hope my sister just surrenders gracefully.”
Yu Wenxi snorted. “The way your eyes lit up when you saw her.”
Yan Run looked aggrieved. “Hey, that’s not fair. I was just surprised—she’s the first Omega I’ve met like that.”
“And what other Omegas have you met?” Yu Wenxi muttered.
Yan Run fastened her wife’s seatbelt. “Mostly like you—cool, gentle… every glance and smile drives me crazy.”
Yu Wenxi laughed, rubbing her head. “You’re sweet-talking me. But I don’t believe you.”
“Why not?” Yan Run asked, puzzled.
“Because you expect me to believe you went all the way from elementary school to university without meeting an Omega? If you’re going to lie, at least make it believable, little one.”
Yan Run pouted. “Fine, there were a few Omegas who liked me. But I wasn’t interested. I only had eyes for you. I even watched that bit-part TV drama you did—like, N times.”
Yu Wenxi immediately covered her mouth. Yan Run gave a muffled, pitiful whine, but Yu Wenxi glared. “Don’t ever bring up that drama again. That was my ultimate shame.”
Once freed, Yan Run pulled her into a full embrace.
Yu Wenxi could tell exactly where this was heading. “This time, you’re not allowed to touch me.”
Yan Run made an obedient noise but didn’t let go. “Why should I listen to you?”
Yu Wenxi tried to pry her hands away, but Yan Run’s grip only tightened.
“Let me go!”
“Nope. Not letting go.”
“Tsk.” Yu Wenxi could only blame herself for always indulging her. She reached back and gave the Alpha’s perky backside a firm pinch.
Yan Run hissed in pain. “Ow! Attempted spouse-murder!”
“Oh, shut up.” Yu Wenxi was sure she was faking—it was way too convincing.
“Then you have to make it up to me,” Yan Run said, latching onto her arm and fake-crying with perfect “pear blossom in the rain” sorrow.
Yu Wenxi wanted to scold her, but she never knew how. In front of everyone else, Yan Run was the picture of composure; only with her did she turn into such a child. The thought softened Yu Wenxi, and she reached out to stroke her long hair.
Yan Run instantly stopped crying and glanced up, catching that tender look.
Why was she looking at her like that?
Wasn’t she faking?
“Jie, you—”
“Don’t talk.”
Yu Wenxi leaned in, pressing her lips to hers.
An Omega’s kiss was always gentle, cautious—layer by layer, deeper and deeper—until the other person was nearly driven mad.
Yan Run broke the kiss, said nothing, and drove them straight to a place without even streetlights.
Yu Wenxi stared out at the shadowy concrete buildings. “What are we doing here?”
Yan Run wrapped an arm around her waist, her voice husky. “I can’t hold back anymore. Let’s do it here…” She didn’t wait for an answer before kissing her again.
Yu Wenxi, flushed under the press of pheromones, didn’t exactly want to do it in the car, but the thought was… a little exciting.
——
Back at the restaurant, Yan Zhi was still locked in her battle. The AC was blasting, yet she felt uncomfortably warm.
Ye Chun’er said nothing, busy tapping away on her phone—probably gossiping with her friends—but when the waiter brought the wine, she poured with deliberate elegance.
Her long, slender fingers traced the rim of the glass before she downed it in one smooth motion.
“Not drinking?” Ye Chun’er asked, smiling at the Alpha across from her.
“It’s late,” Yan Zhi replied evenly. “It’s not appropriate to drink with the opposite sex. I’ll see you back to your hotel.”
“Oh? And in what capacity will you be escorting me? As my girlfriend?” Her feline eyes gleamed.
“Miss Ye, what are you talking about?” Yan Zhi forced a polite smile, pretending not to understand.
But Ye Chun’er, emboldened by the alcohol, suddenly leaned toward her—only for Yan Zhi to step back, leaving her to almost fall.
“You can lean on the table,” Yan Zhi suggested, amused.
Ye Chun’er’s smile turned sharp. “But I like leaning on something warm.”
“There’s plenty of warmth in the kitchen.” Yan Zhi stated.
Ye Chun’er pouted dramatically. “If I go in there, I might get dirty. And I’m feeling a little cold now—why are you sitting so far away? Don’t go.”
Yan Zhi exhaled slowly. “We could just go to the hotel.”
“Then you have to come with me,” Ye Chun’er replied with mock innocence. “And once you’re there, you’re not allowed to leave alone.”
“Miss Ye, you’re quite bold,” Yan Zhi said with a faint smirk.
Ye Chun’er ran her fingers through her hair and sighed. “Well, it’s you who suggested it. You can’t blame me.”
Yan Zhi gave a quiet click of her tongue before suddenly taking her hand.
Ye Chun’er’s cheeks flushed—was she finally giving in to her charms? She almost smiled in triumph… until Yan Zhi simply lifted her, set her on the opposite seat, and walked off.
“Yan Zhi!!” Ye Chun’er shouted, furious.
Straightening her suit, Yan Zhi said coolly, “Sorry, I’m just not in the mood for beauty right now. Can’t enjoy it, I’m afraid.”
Ye Chun’er tried to follow, but Yan Zhi ran faster, vanishing into the night before she could catch up.
She stomped her foot, fuming. That bastard!!!
——
Night deepened. Yan Run finished getting dressed, then grabbed tissues to wipe down the back seat. Yu Wenxi was cleaning a certain mess from her clothes, sighing. “The smell in here is way too strong. We’re getting the car cleaned first thing tomorrow.”
Yan Run nodded—she knew her wife’s dislike for lingering scents.
Then, a little sheepishly, she asked, “I did okay, right?”
Yu Wenxi looked at her in puzzlement. “Mm?”
“You didn’t even scream,” Yan Run said pitifully.
Yu Wenxi rolled her eyes and gave her a little pinch. “Idiot. We’re in public—how could I possibly scream?”
Yan Run stifled a laugh, finished tidying up, and drove them back to the love cabin. Exhausted, they barely managed to wash up before falling into a deep sleep.
