- Chapter 49 - Looks Like Ji Zhiye’s Confession Was a Success
Hu Ye was baffled. Just moments ago, the Second Miss had asked him where the bracelet was—so how did Ji Zhiye end up finding it?
Yu Wenxi glanced at the bracelet. Yan Run, looking a little surprised, asked, “Jie, do you want to ride a hot air balloon too? When the show’s over, I’ll take you.”
“Sure. I’ve ridden one before… Honestly, I didn’t think you’d be the one to find the bracelet,” Yu Wenxi said casually, taking a sip of the fragrant oil tea.
Yan Run paused. If Yu Wenxi wanted it… then she shouldn’t have let Ji Zhiye have it.
“You want me to confess to you again?” Yan Run asked.
Yu Wenxi chuckled, reaching over to pat Yan Run’s warm cheek. “Silly. You already confessed to me before. Why would I need a second time? Better to give them the chance—it’s good for her. Ji Zhiye’s been through a lot to get here.”
Yan Run pressed her lips together, but then heard Yu Wenxi murmur softly, “I like it when the confession’s made in bed.”
Yan Run’s ears turned red in an instant.
【What did Xixi just say? I didn’t catch it!】
【She even covered her mouth with her hand—you can’t lip-read that at all.】
【It must have been something dirty. Ahhh! Xixi, you’ve changed!】
After lunch, Yan Run took Yu Wenxi for a walk before leading her to the stables.
Yan Run had ridden before and was experienced, but Yu Wenxi was a little nervous.
Once they mounted, Yan Run sat behind her—one hand holding the reins, the other wrapping around Yu Wenxi’s slender waist. She could feel Yu Wenxi trembling slightly and murmured from behind, “Don’t be scared, Jie. I’m right here.”
That steady sense of security eased Yu Wenxi’s heart.
Meanwhile, Ji Zhiye was leading Wei Qin toward the hot air balloon.
The grassland stretched endlessly below, beautiful and serene, but Wei Qin clung to Ji Zhiye’s arm, her voice sharp. “Ji Zhiye, why did you bring me up here?”
Ji Zhiye blinked. “Qin Qin, are you… afraid of heights? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Wei Qin started to say “I—” but stopped.
She knew Ji Zhiye had brought her here with the intention of confessing, so she’d been looking forward to it. But only after the balloon started rising did she realize—she was afraid of heights.
Her legs instantly went weak, and she collapsed into Ji Zhiye’s arms, trembling. “I’m scared.”
Ji Zhiye’s heart ached. “Then let’s go down right away.”
“No.” Wei Qin shook her head firmly. “You haven’t confessed yet.”
Hearing the Omega’s trembling voice, Ji Zhiye froze for a moment.
Wei Qin kept her eyes shut, her voice shaking. “What are you waiting for? Hurry up and confess.”
Ji Zhiye asked carefully, “You… really want me to?”
Wei Qin clicked her tongue. This Alpha was so long-winded.
“I thought you didn’t really like me,” Ji Zhiye admitted.
That made Wei Qin’s eyes snap open, her fear momentarily forgotten. “What?”
Ji Zhiye’s gaze was full of joy and melancholy. “I was afraid you’d reject me. Even though I’ve wanted to confess for so long…”
Wei Qin was almost exasperated. “Then hurry up and do it.”
“But you can’t reject me, okay?” Ji Zhiye muttered.
Such a wordy Alpha.
Wei Qin, speechless, grumbled silently in her heart.
“Just say it already,” she urged, though her own heart skipped a beat.
Was she… actually looking forward to this?
Ji Zhiye’s heart warmed. “Qin Qin, I like you.”
Hu Ye, watching through the feed, grabbed the walkie-talkie. “Hot search, standby!”
Unfortunately, the wind was strong and Ji Zhiye’s voice was soft. Wei Qin only looked puzzled.
Ji Zhiye, still caught up in her excitement, saw Wei Qin’s baffled expression and panicked. “Qin Qin, what’s wrong? Listen, I really like you. You’re in my dreams, in my heart, in my eyes—you’re everywhere, like the wind, and I’ll follow you anywhere.”
“Is that so?” Wei Qin’s tone was cool.
“?” Ji Zhiye blinked.
Wei Qin said, “I didn’t hear you just now.”
“…Wei Qin!”
Fine. If she had to take cautious, nerve-wracking steps to win Wei Qin’s heart, so be it.
“I like you!” Ji Zhiye shouted.
Wei Qin’s face instantly flushed. That… that was way too loud. People down below would definitely hear.
Sure enough, Yan Run, who was galloping across the grasslands, heard it and stopped.
Yu Wenxi heard it too and smiled. “Turns out Ji Zhiye’s even more timid than you.”
Yan Run shrugged. “Aside from confessing, she’s pretty impressive. I’ve got high hopes for her.”
Wei Qin swatted Ji Zhiye’s hand. “Why say it so loudly? If people hear, it’s embarrassing!”
Ji Zhiye, staring at her flushed face, felt an itch in her heart. She couldn’t resist tilting Wei Qin’s chin and leaning in for a kiss.
“Qin Qin, I like you,” she murmured against her lips, her words sending the Omega’s heart into disarray.
With her lips kissed pink, Wei Qin suddenly forgot her fear of heights. It felt as though Ji Zhiye’s sincerity had reached her, the high altitude fading into the background.
“Qin Qin, I really do like you,” Ji Zhiye said, her low voice carrying all the years of hidden affection she’d kept for her.
Wei Qin’s heart tightened, and to her own surprise, she leaned forward and kissed her back—her first time initiating.
Ji Zhiye froze for a heartbeat. Her heart pounded wildly, almost bursting, as she held the Omega she adored in her arms, pouring years of pent-up longing into that embrace.
She loved her. She loved her so much she didn’t even know how it was possible.
“Qin Qin…” Ji Zhiye muttered.
Wei Qin was held tightly in her arms, letting out a soft whimper. Gazing at the distant white clouds, she felt as if she was in a dream. In truth, she loved… this feeling—like being wrapped in a dreamscape,
surrounded by the embrace of a loving Alpha. It was so beautiful, so comforting.
“You bad thing… talking so loudly…” Wei Qin murmured with a muffled whimper, lightly pounding her chest before letting out another soft sound.
“Qin Qin, listen to me.” Ji Zhiye’s gaze was tender. This Alpha might be endlessly patient with her at times, always able to indulge her whims, but she could also be overbearingly possessive—never allowing anyone else to pursue her. And yet, at this moment, her eyes were so gentle. Wei Qin truly liked her like this.
Wei Qin’s heart stirred.
Ji Zhiye looked at her, her voice as soft as water.
“I don’t know exactly when I fell for you. I just know that every little thing you do feels so novel, so captivating, so intoxicating… You make me feel like I’ve found true love. Because of you, I started thinking about marriage, children, and spending my life with my wife… Look at the clouds around us… I want every cloud and breeze to hear my vow—my vow to love you for ten thousand years… a million years… ten million years…”
Wei Qin felt her nose prickle, her eyes misting. “Is that… really true?”
Ji Zhiye nodded firmly, her hand gently resting on Wei Qin’s stomach as she smiled. “Of course it’s true. I’m only afraid you might abandon me one day.”
Wei Qin lowered her gaze. These past days, she had been quietly enjoying Ji Zhiye’s kindness. She could barely remember why she had avoided her in the first place. This woman was… actually very cute, and genuinely good to her.
She felt like she’d struck a bargain, accepting Ji Zhiye’s affection. But the truth was… if she had accepted it, didn’t that mean she liked her too? After all, any man who treated her well, she had always turned away without hesitation.
“Zhiye.”
“Mm?”
“I like you too.”
Ji Zhiye froze, staring at her in disbelief. “R-really? You mean it?”
Wei Qin lowered her head, her nose flushed red.
Ji Zhiye burst out laughing toward the sky. This was the happiest moment of her life.
“Qin Qin, you really mean it?”
“Of course.”
Ji Zhiye pulled her into a fierce embrace, laughing and shouting, “I like you too! I really, really like you! I like you so, so much!”
Wei Qin couldn’t help laughing at this silly woman.
“Um…”
The elated Alpha: “?”
Wei Qin: “Can we go down now? I’m scared.”
Ji Zhiye nodded. “We’ll be down right away, right away…”
Wei Qin gave a soft hum and leaned into her arms, listening to the steady, rhythmic thump of the Alpha’s heartbeat—so gentle and soothing.
As the hot-air balloon slowly descended, Yan Run chuckled. “Looks like Ji Zhiye’s confession was a success.”
Yu Wenxi pressed her lips together. “She’s finally won her beauty over.”
Yan Run wrapped an arm around Yu Wenxi’s waist, whispering into her ear, “I’ve won mine too.”
Yu Wenxi’s ears turned red. She glared at her. “Don’t talk in my ear—it tickles.” Yan Run laughed, then pouted dramatically before quickly reining in the horse.
Yu Wenxi yelped, startled. “What are you doing again?”
But Yan Run was gazing off into the distance, serene, as if sighing. “Look ahead.”
Yu Wenxi turned to see the deep blue sky blooming with snowy clouds. It felt almost like going back to that moment in the lavender garden, lying together and watching the sky.
Her chest swelled with emotion, and she didn’t notice the Alpha beside her staring at her intently. When Yu Wenxi turned to speak—wanting to say how beautiful it was—the Alpha leaned in and kissed her on the lips, light as a passing breeze.
【They kissed! They kissed again! Hahahahaha】
【Totally worth watching!!】
【Ughhh I heard they kissed this morning too, but I missed it—finally I got to see it!】
【So sweet!】
【I heard the show’s ending soon. I just want to see them flirting like this every day until then. I’ll miss them so much.】
Two AOs kissed passionately on horseback, their figures framed against the white clouds like intertwined musical notes, blooming into flowers made of love.
Yu Wenxi was kissed breathless, only able to let out a soft whimper.
Eventually, her body softened, leaning into the Alpha’s chest.
The Alpha’s kiss grew more assertive until Yu Wenxi’s muffled sound finally made her pull away—only to get a light smack from the Omega.
“Shameless!”
Seeing the blush rising on Yu Wenxi’s face, the Alpha grinned sheepishly.
Yu Wenxi frowned. “What are you laughing at?”
“…Not laughing anymore.”
“You can only laugh when I let you laugh!” Yu Wenxi said.
Yan Run pouted, sniffled, and nodded obediently.
Yu Wenxi huffed. Looking at the Alpha’s fake pout, she almost wanted to bully her back. “Not playing anymore?”
“Still playing!”
“Then get moving!”
Yan Run responded with two quick “ohs” and played for a while longer. When she noticed Yu Wenxi sweating, she asked if she wanted to rest at the restaurant, then guided the horse back to their starting point.
But when they returned, they found no one else had gone out to play. Instead, as soon as they walked in, Xu Zhaozhao’s expression turned to shock.
Yan Run quickly asked, “What happened?”
Xu Zhaozhao whispered, “Gao Ge and Xu Tangran are fighting inside. And wow—seriously, it was so intense that the director immediately cut the livestream. He’s still inside trying to mediate.”
Hearing those two Alphas’ names, Yan Run couldn’t help thinking of Wang Yunfan. “Where’s Yunfan-jie?”
“She’s inside too,” Xu Zhaozhao said, “but for some reason she hasn’t made a sound.”
Yu Wenxi frowned. “Could something have happened?”
Yan Run tried calling Hu Ye, but there was no answer. The assistant director, upon hearing the situation, rushed over. Deciding there was no time to waste, he forced the door open—only to be hit by a wave of strange, overpowering scent.
As an Alpha, the assistant director instantly felt invaded, his stomach churning violently until he had to run to the bathroom to throw up.
It wasn’t just him—every Alpha and Omega outside felt their hearts race uncontrollably when the smell hit.
At first, Yan Run caught the mixed scent of alcohol and sour lemon. When combined, they created something sharp and bile-like—but unfortunately, these were two Alphas’ pheromones. And when pheromones spiral out of control, they can create what’s known as a “pheromone bomb.”
A pheromone bomb is like a biochemical weapon—when two opposing pheromone types collide without restraint, they form an unbearable stench. Mild exposure can cause vomiting or fainting; severe cases can damage the glands and disrupt endocrine balance.
The scents of alcohol and sour lemon were completely incompatible, and when mixed, the result was horribly foul.
Yan Run quickly covered her own nose—and Yu Wenxi’s as well. Thankfully, Yu Wenxi had already guessed something was wrong inside and hadn’t leaned in to sniff. Yan Run led her further away until the smell gradually dispersed.
Yu Wenxi frowned. “Was that Director Hu and Xu Tangran’s pheromones?”
Yan Run narrowed her eyes. “…And how do you know it was theirs?”
Yu Wenxi rolled her eyes. “Who else could it be?”
