- Chapter 35 - How Could an Omega Possibly Restrain Me So Easily?
“Are you toying with me?” Yan Run’s eyes narrowed. She had never met such a sly Omega before. Alphas were supposed to be the mischievous ones, yet Yu Wenxi’s actions proved that Omegas weren’t all the soft, gentle beings the public imagined—they could be cunning too.
Yu Wenxi let out a pitiful whimper. “Didn’t you say I could do whatever I wanted?”
Yan Run’s ears turned red. She muttered in a low voice, “I didn’t mean for you to… order me around…”
“What are you talking about?” The Omega suddenly leaned in. Instinctively, Yan Run lifted her gaze, meeting a pair of eyes staring straight into hers. She could feel the warm breath fanning across her skin, carrying with it the faint scent of jasmine tea—heady, almost intoxicating.
The Omega’s voice was soft, yet steady. “The only thing I want to ‘order’ you to do… is to fall in love with me again.”
“You think I’d fall in love with someone that easily?” Yan Run asked between breaths, her tone sharp and sudden.
It was like a bucket of cold water thrown over Yu Wenxi, but she didn’t flinch.
Instead, she closed the distance, pressing her lips against Yan Run’s without warning. The Omega’s boldness and momentum startled Yan Run—she quickly pushed her away, blurting, “Yu Wenxi, you’re a young lady of the Yu family! How can you be so reckless?”
Yu Wenxi lifted her peach blossom eyes, the corners tilting upward in a seductive arc, her gaze shimmering unusually bright.
Yan Run was momentarily dazed before shaking her head. “What are you trying to do?”
Like a cat, Yu Wenxi leaned in again, forcing Yan Run to back away until she could retreat no further. She fell back onto the bed.
The Omega didn’t pull away—instead, she came closer still. Strangely, Yan Run didn’t push her off. She was afraid that if she used too much force, she might hurt her. The Omega seemed to sense this and pressed the advantage even harder.
The Alpha turned her head away, expression tense, as though she was the one being bullied. Refusing to meet the Omega’s eyes, she said coldly, “You’d better show some restraint. If Grandma finds out about this… what then?”
Thank goodness today wasn’t a live broadcast. If Grandma knew Yu Wenxi could be this unruly, she’d be shocked!
Yu Wenxi smiled. “It’s fine. Grandma would want us to do this.”
Yan Run: “…”
“Have you forgotten?” Yu Wenxi’s eyes gleamed. “I told you before—whether you like me or not… I’ll make sure you fall for me. In novels, I believe they call that forced love.”
Yan Run’s eyes widened.
Suddenly, Yu Wenxi’s lips brushed hers again—a kiss long and unyielding. By the time Yan Run realized what was happening, the Omega had already pulled back, her hands firmly enclosing the Alpha’s slackened fingers.
Yan Run’s heart gave an unexpected jolt. Shockingly, she had no desire to shove the Omega away. Instead, she felt a rush of excitement—though she was perfectly aware she only liked Yu Wenxi a little, how could she let an Omega restrain her so easily?
“Yu Wenxi, don’t push your luck!” Yan Run snapped.
Yu Wenxi’s fingertips traced the curve of her face. She laughed lightly. “You said I could do whatever I wanted. An Alpha’s word can’t be taken back, you know…”
Yan Run swallowed. Well… she had said that. But—
Yu Wenxi’s smile turned cool. She stepped away, crossing her arms. “Take off your clothes.”
Yan Run glared. “Are you crazy?”
This woman was insane! Whatever happened to that aloof, abstinent persona? No way was she listening to her. Yan Run got out of bed, intending to leave, but Yu Wenxi’s voice stopped her in her tracks.
“An Alpha’s word can’t be taken back. You said you’d love me forever—so you will love me forever.” Yu Wenxi declared.
“Bullshit!” Yan Run finally snapped. “Maybe before I lost my memory, I really did like you. But did you even like me? I can’t even tell if you’ve just been playing me this whole time. Why should I keep loving you for the rest of my life when I can’t trust a thing about you now?”
Yu Wenxi finally understood—this woman had been hung up on this thought all along. She gave a small laugh. “So you’ve always thought I was just playing with you? Impossible. We loved each other so much before. How could I have been playing with you?”
“What about Ah Yue, then?”
“I told you—there is no A-Yue. It’s always been you. Only you.”
Yan Run froze, lips pressing together as if wanting to say something but stopping short.
Yu Wenxi lowered her gaze and spoke softly. “Come back to me. Let’s start over, alright?”
“Then why didn’t you tell me earlier?” Yan Run asked.
“Because I was afraid you wouldn’t believe me. After losing your memory, you didn’t even recognize me—why would you like me? You might not have wanted to see me at all. The only way I could be close to you was through the marriage arrangement. That way, we’d at least have a chance to be together.” Yu Wenxi’s tone was calm. “But… I don’t know why, you’re different from before. I don’t know what happened.”
Even with her explanation, Yan Run wasn’t convinced.
Qin Zishu’s words, Gu Zhen’s warnings—all echoed in her mind. Yu Wenxi was far too cunning. How could she possibly believe everything?
Besides, she only liked Yu Wenxi a little. How could she become that lovesick fool she apparently used to be?
Yan Run’s lips curved in a faint smile. “Sorry, but I’m not the old Yan Run. Don’t treat me like her, alright?”
Yu Wenxi had been confident she could make Yan Run fall for her again. But upon hearing those words, a coldness seemed to seep into her bones, wrapping around her whole body.
“Do you really feel nothing for me now?” Yu Wenxi asked cautiously.
“I have some affection for you—but that’s not the same as truly loving you. I can’t go back to the way things were. Please understand that. As for the contract, I don’t care how many years you want to keep it. I won’t be with any other Omega, but I also don’t want children.” Yan Run stated.
“You… don’t want children?” Yu Wenxi’s voice was quiet, her eyes shifting to the bed.
Yes—Yan Run could accept intimacy, but it was only ever from her own initiative, and only out of mild affection. If this had been the old Yan Run… Yu Wenxi didn’t even dare imagine it. So losing one’s memory really could change a person’s nature?
Seeing the troubled look on Yu Wenxi’s face, Yan Run instinctively asked, “Did I say something wrong?”
Yu Wenxi didn’t answer. Yan Run took a step forward—only to be kicked sharply in the thigh.
Yan Run winced, hissing through her teeth. “What was that for?”
The Omega’s kick hadn’t been hard, but it still stung against tender skin.
“You scummy Alpha!” Yu Wenxi spat coldly.
“What?” “I haven’t even been intimate with anyone else! How can you call me that?” Yan Run said.
“If you’re already thinking about divorcing me, you shouldn’t be accepting my kisses—or what we did last night! Typical Alpha—claiming you only have a little affection for me and want a divorce, but still taking my body. What do you take me for? Something you can covet without consequence?” Her voice was icy, each word bitten off with fury, her eyes sharp enough to tear the Alpha apart.
Yan Run was stunned into silence.
Sure, last night had been triggered by Yu Wenxi’s pheromones—she hadn’t been able to resist.
But as a top-tier Alpha, she could have stopped it… unless she had already marked Yu Wenxi before, creating a pheromone dependence. That would explain her inability to reject her.
She wanted to explain—but Yu Wenxi had already walked out.
Yan Run wanted to pound the floor. From Yu Wenxi’s perspective, it did look like she had forced herself on her. And if she hadn’t refused… well, that was her mistake too.
Yu Wenxi didn’t answer her calls or messages. She was clearly giving her the cold shoulder.
—Alright, alright!
—I won’t divorce you.
—I’ll do whatever you want. I won’t go back on my word again.
—I’m begging you. I know I was wrong.
—Please, just reply to me?
Yan Run waited for a long time.
No response. Anxiety began to claw at her chest. She drove to the Love Cabin, but there was no sign of Yu Wenxi. She called Liu Zhaoli, but she didn’t know where Yu Wenxi was either.
She considered going to the Yu family home, but worried about running into He Yunzhi. She wouldn’t know how to explain.
—Please, answer me.
—We can talk this over…
—Big sis!
After dozens of messages, Yu Wenxi finally replied.
—Once the dating show ends, let’s get a divorce.
—Don’t come looking for me. I’ll go back to the Love Cabin.
It was like someone had poured ice water over Yan Run. The chill sank all the way to her toes.
She had been so eager for divorce before—so why did her chest feel so unbearably cold now? Cold enough to make her want to cry.

The Meng family was well-known in A City and even had business ties with the Yu family. When Meng Qieyi’s father managed to get her released, the Yu and Yan families both warned her severely. Meng Qieyi had no choice but to withdraw from the variety show, sparking a flurry of online speculation about what had happened.
Back home, father Meng shoved her forward. She fell hard to the floor, tears brimming. “Father, I was wrong. I was just… foolish for a moment.”
Her father’s voice was icy. “I trusted you wouldn’t give me cause for worry. And yet you dared lay hands on Yu Wenxi? Do you realize the Meng and Yu families are partners? Were you trying to destroy us?”
Meng Qieyi had regretted it countless times already. She’d been blinded by impulse back then. She swore she’d never do something like that again, and was even planning to go abroad—never to see Yu Wenxi again.
Seeing his daughter’s remorse, father Meng relented. “Who gave you the drug?” he asked.
“A-Feng.”
“The young miss of the Lang family?”
“Yes.”
“I told you not to associate with her. That woman’s character is rotten—she’s dangerous!” father Meng said.
“Father, I won’t have anything to do with her anymore. I’ll cut ties completely. I realize now how disgusting what I did was.” Meng Qieyi kept her head lowered, admitting fault over and over.
Her father sighed and agreed to let her go abroad.
But the day before her departure, a female Alpha friend came knocking.
It was none other than Lang Feng—the one who had given her the aphrodisiac.
