After the Nerd Marked the Top Omega - Chapter 11
Since deciding to sign the agreement, Fang Xu had considered the matter of marking the other party.
She just hadn’t expected it to happen so soon.
Fang Xu instantly tensed up, her fingers at her side nervously clutching the sleeve of her clothes. After two seconds of stunned silence, she replied, “Okay.”
After leaving the coffee shop, the assistant was already waiting by the street.
The car door opened, and the two sat in the back.
The assistant was highly professional, keeping their eyes straight ahead and maintaining a minimal expression throughout.
However, Fang Xu still felt somewhat constrained. After putting down her backpack, she kept her hands in her lap, occupying very little space.
Pei Yunci wanted to help her relax, so she initiated the conversation: “Does Jiangcheng University still have a curfew?”
“No, and they don’t check the dorms either.” Fang Xu remembered that the person next to her also graduated from Jiangcheng University, so she asked, “Miss Pei, did they when you were in school?”
Pei Yunci hummed in response: “However, I didn’t stay on campus often.”
When she was in university, she was already attempting to get involved with the Pei Group’s industries. Living on campus was inconvenient, so she bought an apartment nearby at the start of the semester.
Fang Xu nodded: “I see.”
The topic ended, and silence returned to the car.
It wasn’t awkward, but it was clear that there was a distance between the two.
Pei Yunci suddenly spoke, “Miss Fang?”
“Hmm?” Fang Xu turned to look at her.
The dark car drove past the street, and the warm glow of the headlights fell upon the woman’s profile, making her look exceptionally beautiful.
“Miss Pei, is something wrong?”
Pei Yunci’s long eyelashes fluttered, the shadow they cast shifting slightly: “I just wanted to suggest, should we change how we address each other?”
The two would certainly meet again later. Constantly calling each other ‘Miss Pei’ and ‘Miss Fang’ wouldn’t make things feel very comfortable.
“Xiaoxu, is that okay?”
Familiar people and most teachers and classmates called her “Xiaoxu.”
But these two usual words, when paired with that cool voice, sounded unfamiliar yet pleasant.
“It’s okay,” Fang Xu touched her ear, quickly agreeing, and then tentatively asked, “Pei… Yunci?”
“Mm.” The pleasant voice replied.
Pei Yunci owned many properties in Jiangcheng, but the one she lived in most often was the apartment near her company, which wasn’t too far from Jiangcheng University.
Fang Xu followed her inside and slowly got a clearer look at the apartment.
White and gray were the dominant low-key colors. There weren’t many decorations, but the design felt just right.
“Have a seat first,” Pei Yunci poured her a glass of warm water. “I might have to deal with some work first, do you mind?”
This wasn’t a test; she had to leave the company early today just to have time to meet the Alpha.
“I don’t mind, please go ahead and be busy.”
Pei Yunci nodded, then took out her laptop and looked at the documents on the screen.
The Pei Group’s main business was previously electronic products. After taking over, she dedicated some resources to researching and developing smart, high-end products, with the recent gaming pod being a major focus.
However, the gaming pod involved a wide range of issues and required contact with relevant gaming companies, so there was a lot more work.
Several versions of the relevant proposal had been revised, but Pei Yunci was still unsatisfied.
She finished reading the new proposal. It was better than before, but further discussion was still needed tomorrow.
Before closing the screen, Pei Yunci glanced at the time in the bottom right corner—more than an hour had passed.
She casually picked up the water cup next to her, and her fingers touched the side of the cup, pausing slightly.
It was still warm.
It was self-evident who had helped refill the water.
Pei Yunci finally looked over. The girl also had a laptop in front of her, looking serious as she lightly tapped the keyboard.
Her major in college was finance, which had little connection with computer science, but it was clear that the other party was working on an assignment related to the field.
Pei Yunci’s gaze rested on the girl, and she didn’t speak to disturb her.
In their two meetings, and now here in the apartment, she hadn’t seemed to smell the Alpha pheromones from the other person.
If she hadn’t been marked by her, she might have even mistaken the girl for a Beta.
Fang Xu blinked her dry eyes. After checking the program in front of her one more time, she closed the page.
Lifting her head, she met a pair of beautiful eyes.
After a moment of realization, Fang Xu said, “Finished work?”
“Finished,” Pei Yunci took a small sip of the water in her cup. “How about you? If you’re in a hurry, you don’t need to worry about me.”
“I finished writing,” Fang Xu replied. Thinking of her trait, she added, “If you call me and I don’t respond, I just haven’t heard it. Feel free to just tap me.”
She had already finished her specialized assignments at school. Now that she had more free time, she wanted to try new things.
In her sophomore year, she had briefly conceptualized a small game. However, actually making it was complicated, so it had been delayed until now.
Pei Yunci nodded and said, “Then, the marking now?”
As she spoke, she also stood up and walked toward the master bedroom.
Fang Xu, who had been slowly relaxing, instantly felt a little flustered again. She followed behind the person and answered with a quiet “Okay.”
Pei Yunci pushed the door open. Compared to the living room, the bedroom had a stronger sense of life; scattered cosmetics were on the dressing table, and two doses of inhibitors were by the bedside cabinet.
“Want to wash up first?” Pei Yunci took out a new set of toiletries.
Fang Xu, who followed her, took them. Closing the bathroom door, she saw that her face had completely flushed red.
Last time, the situation was urgent; there was no time to even rinse her mouth, let alone complete the pheromone injection.
After diligently brushing her teeth, Fang Xu cupped some cold water and splashed it on her face, but she still couldn’t bring the heat down.
Looking at the closed door, she hesitated for a moment, then took out her phone and opened a web search.
“What should an Alpha pay attention to during the first marking?”
“Must read! Marking tutorial even for novice Alphas!”
“Don’t know how to mark? Remember these few points, and you’ll learn in minutes!”
“…”
Fang Xu’s face became even hotter, the blush completely unstoppable. After reading a few tutorials, she confirmed that her previous marking could truly be described by the word “terrible.”
The sound of water in the bathroom stopped, but the person still hadn’t come out.
Pei Yunci sat on the edge of the bed and slightly raised her eyebrows. “Xiaoxu, are you done?”
Her fingers moved slightly. Could it be that now that it was time for the marking, the good student wanted to back out?
“I’m done!”
Fang Xu quickly came out. Seeing the person by the bed, she somehow wanted to hide the phone she was holding behind her back.
The more she tried to hide it, the more obvious it became.
Trying to cover up a mistake only makes it worse, Pei Yunci silently thought to herself.
She looked at the girl standing straight in front of her and asked, “What were you looking at just now?”
The delay in the bathroom must have been related to this.
Caught looking at a marking tutorial, and now being discovered, Fang Xu felt like she had just emerged from a steamer.
Her face was hot, her neck was hot, and even her palms were sweating.
She opened her mouth, but she really couldn’t bring herself to say it. She could only take the phone out from behind her back, her fingers gripping it until they were somewhat pale.
The content on the screen was fully revealed to Pei Yunci.
Her guess was overturned. Looking at the unexpected content on the screen, a hint of a smile appeared in her beautiful eyes: “Were you just learning this?”
Fang Xu nodded, explaining in a low voice: “I’m a secondary Alpha, so I’m not very good at marking.”
Pei Yunci slightly raised her eyes, looking at the girl who looked ready to dig a hole and bury herself. “So, have you learned it now?”
Fang Xu’s face felt like it was on fire, intensely hot: “I think I have.”
She, who had always been adept at learning and problem-solving, was now hesitant to confirm.
“Then shall we try?” Pei Yunci lowered the threshold of her wristband and removed the inhibitor patch.
Fang Xu once again smelled that light, pleasant, and alluring scent of bellflowers.
At the same time, her ankle was tipped by the other person’s toe—it was very light, without force, like a gentle reminder that she had been standing still for too long.
Fang Xu followed the cue and stepped forward. The distance between the two instantly closed.
