Chapter 126: What is a Pillow For? She Knew All Too Well…
The late autumn in Haicheng was pleasant, and it was the season with the most tourists all year.
Xia Shinan walked out of the airport, looking at the crowds coming and going. Like her, people were bundled up in heavy autumn and winter clothes, complaining about the heat while their smiles never faded.
When she first came to Haicheng, she deeply disliked the city because of Tang Yin, finding it suffocating.
But now, her mood was as bright as the clear sky outside.
Xia Shinan flew straight to Haicheng immediately after wrapping up filming. Leaving the airport, she headed directly for the SN building.
The original plan was to finish shooting three days later, but due to weather concerns, the director compressed the schedule, finishing three days ahead of time. She hadn’t told Tang Yin, planning to give her a surprise.
What would Tang Yin’s reaction be when she saw her? Xia Shinan couldn’t help but smile, quite looking forward to it…
Xia Shinan had contacted Ming Jing beforehand, so she successfully entered the SN building. An assistant then led her to Tang Yin’s office.
“CEO Tang went out this afternoon. CEO Ming said she should be back around four. Miss Xia, would you like coffee or juice?”
“Juice, please, thank you,” Xia Shinan smiled. After the assistant left, she stayed alone in the office, amusing herself by examining Tang Yin’s workspace. It wasn’t much different from when she last spoke with Xia Tong here, but upon closer inspection, there were some distinctions.
For example, the dark-colored curtains had been replaced with warm-toned ones, and the black, elegant desk had a few seemingly discordant items added to it.
The little penguin plush toy beside the computer was one they had won from a claw machine in Yuncheng. She hadn’t expected Tang Yin to keep it here, but seeing the little penguin might indeed lift her spirits when work was tiring, right?
There was also a rose petal coffee mug, which they had made together at a handcraft store. She wondered how it felt to use?
After looking around for a while and drinking half the juice, Xia Shinan decided to text Tang Yin.
“What is the busy person doing?”
She waited for a while, but Tang Yin didn’t reply. Thinking that Tang Yin was probably busy and didn’t have time to look at her phone, Xia Shinan simply sat down at the desk, took out her tablet, and continued watching the movie she hadn’t finished on the plane.
Tang Yin finished her meeting and drove straight to the basement parking lot. She took the elevator up to the 15th floor, ready to attend another meeting.
Ming Jing had also just rushed back from outside. Seeing Tang Yin, she was slightly taken aback. “You… are you still having a meeting?”
Tang Yin raised an eyebrow. “What else? Such a big issue happened in Department Two. Do you think a few simple words will suffice?”
“Well, you have a point…” Ming Jing nodded, then realized something. It looked like Tang Yin didn’t know anything yet… She smiled, shaking her head. “Give me two minutes. I’ll call my wife and tell her not to wait for me for dinner.”
Tang Yin was momentarily stunned, thinking of Xia Shinan. Ming Jing was great in every way, but her biggest problem was her fondness for showing off her relationship, acting as if no one else had a spouse.
Remembering that her phone was in the car, and she was too busy to fetch it right now.
“Zou Yue, go to the parking garage and get my phone. Ming Jing, let’s start the meeting now.”
Ming Jing smiled. “Didn’t I say I need to make a phone call? Tang Yin, why are you like this? You can’t see your wife, so you won’t let me call mine. Some people are so jealous…”
Tang Yin gave her an irritated glare. “Say one more word, and you’re going on a business trip tomorrow.”
Ming Jing made an ‘OK’ sign, a mischievous glint in her eyes. You asked for it by telling me not to say anything…
The meeting ended at 6:30 PM. The conference room door opened, and everyone slowly walked out with grim expressions, heading dispiritedly toward their workstations.
“The project manager of Department Two, come to my office now and hand me the meeting minutes and report in person.”
“Understood…” A short-haired woman responded with a crestfallen expression, tidying up her documents and immediately following Tang Yin into the elevator, along with Ming Jing.
Tang Yin looked at her curiously. “Why are you following me?”
Ming Jing replied with a straight face. “I also want to hear Manager Jiang’s report and help analyze how internal documents were leaked.”
“Mhm.” Tang Yin nodded. The elevator reached the corresponding floor and opened. Tang Yin walked straight toward her office. The office door was a fingerprint lock. As she placed her finger on the sensor, the door opened instantly.
Through the slight gap, Tang Yin sensed something was wrong inside the room. In just two seconds, her pupils widened slightly. The next moment, she stepped into the office, blocking the two people behind her outside.
Manager Jiang was stunned, turning to look at Ming Jing with a panicked expression.
“CEO Ming, what does CEO Tang mean by this?”
Ming Jing struggled to suppress a grin. “Maybe there’s some emergency… It’s fine, reporting in my office is the same.”
Manager Jiang’s face was strained, but the thought of facing Ming Jing instead of Tang Yin made the situation seem much better. Surely her work mistake wouldn’t lead to too severe a punishment, right?
Tang Yin thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. Otherwise, how could the person she had been missing for over a month suddenly appear in her office? But it seemed to be real. Xia Shinan was sleeping on her desk. The tablet in front of her had already turned black, reflecting Tang Yin’s face, which was full of tender affection.
She stared for a long time, then very quietly retrieved a practically unused blanket from the cabinet and covered Xia Shinan with it. She wanted to carry her to the sofa to sleep but was afraid of waking her.
But then a knock came from outside the door, accompanied by Ming Jing’s voice: “CEO Tang, can we come in now?”
Tang Yin was startled, suddenly remembering Ming Jing’s peculiar reaction earlier. She finally understood. She walked over, opening the door just a crack. The people outside couldn’t see anything but her stern face.
Ming Jing clicked her tongue. “Hiding a beauty?”
Tang Yin gave a dry laugh. “You didn’t give me a heads-up.”
Ming Jing chuckled. “Well, you were so busy with the meeting, you workaholic. You were just rushing people to report. When would I have had the time…”
Tang Yin shook her head helplessly. “Leave the report from Jiang Yu to you.”
Ming Jing understood perfectly, but her mouth wouldn’t quit. “Leave it to me? How can I? This is very important work. You…”
“I’m clocking out.” Tang Yin spoke, then unceremoniously closed the door again. After turning around, she paused for two seconds. Xia Shinan was awake, rubbing her eyes and looking at her groggily.
“Tang Tang, are you finished with work?”
Her answer was Tang Yin striding toward her and leaning down for a kiss.
The bitter aftertaste of coffee and the faint scent of pomegranate juice intertwined. Xia Shinan was finally fully awake. When Tang Yin finally released her, she gasped slightly. “I… I fell asleep? When did you arrive?”
“Just now.” Tang Yin pulled Xia Shinan onto her lap, hugging her tightly. “Didn’t you say filming finished the day after tomorrow? Why did you come without telling me?”
A slight look of regret crossed Xia Shinan’s eyes. “I wanted to give you a surprise, but I waited until I fell asleep and didn’t even get to see your surprised look.”
Tang Yin smiled softly, thinking back carefully. “Mhm… Actually, when I saw an extra person in the office, I was startled. Then I realized it was you, and I was both shocked and happy.”
Xia Shinan smiled delightedly. “Really? That sounds pretty good.”
Tang Yin cupped her face, touching her nose to hers. “I really missed you.”
She had wanted to visit the set several times, but she held back, afraid of distracting Xia Shinan. Although they were lovers, they still couldn’t be open in public. While this time was difficult, she was willing to wait.
Wait until Xia Shinan felt the time was right and was mentally prepared. Until then, she would be a good underground lover.
Even if… that day had no set deadline.
Xia Shinan didn’t understand why she saw a trace of sadness in Tang Yin’s eyes again.
“What’s wrong? Are you unhappy?”
“No, I’m too happy,” Tang Yin said, gently kissing Xia Shinan’s lips. “Perhaps it’s because we were separated for so long that whenever I get close to you, I feel incredibly anxious again.”
Anxious?
“Why?”
Tang Yin smiled. “Maybe it’s excitement.”
Xia Shinan was surprised by the reason. She lifted a smile. “Then… should I feel how fast it’s beating?”
Tang Yin leaned her cheek closer, nuzzling her hand. “Sure, you can touch however you want.”
Xia Shinan’s heart fluttered, but she knew this was an office. Aside from kissing, she felt awkward about other intimate actions. Just then, a quiet rumbling sound echoed, which Tang Yin heard acutely.
“Hungry?”
Xia Shinan nodded awkwardly. “A little. I came straight here after getting off the plane and haven’t eaten anything yet.”
Tang Yin understood. When she said she hadn’t eaten, it meant she hadn’t eaten much all day. Her expression immediately turned worried. “Let’s go, we’re going to eat.”
Go?
Xia Shinan blinked. “Aren’t you working? Ming Jing was talking about a report earlier. Are you very busy? I can wait. Don’t let me interrupt your work.”
Tang Yin smiled and shook her head. “You are the most important. I’ve been busy for so long, it’s Ming Jing’s turn to be busy for a while. What do you want to eat?”
Xia Shinan thought for a moment. “Mhm… Coconut chicken!”
“Good.” Tang Yin grabbed her coat and draped it over Xia Shinan. “It’s cold outside. Wear something comfortable.”
“There’s a kind of cold called ‘my girlfriend thinks I’m cold’,” Xia Shinan said with a laugh, following Tang Yin out of the office and heading toward the elevator.
Although it was past working hours, almost every floor of the SN building had its lights on. Tang Yin paused, said “Wait,” and went back. When she returned, she was holding a baseball cap, which she placed on Xia Shinan’s head.
“There are a lot of people here. Better to avoid unnecessary trouble.”
“Oh…” Xia Shinan quietly put on the cap, entered the elevator, and headed to the basement parking lot.
They found a nice restaurant. After eating, they hurried back to Tang Yin’s home. On the way back, their hands were tightly linked, a tacit understanding passing between them.
As soon as they entered the house, Xia Shinan was pinned against the door by Tang Yin. A powerful embrace held her captive, followed by licking and kissing… Whenever Tang Yin kissed her, she would often use her teeth to graze Xia Shinan’s lips until her tongue was soft and her lips were numb before she stopped.
Xia Shinan was left slightly weak from the kisses. Tang Yin led her to the soft sofa and placed a pillow in her hands.
Before she could react, Tang Yin leaned in and whispered in her ear, “Shinan, what you did in the video… do it for me again, okay?”
Xia Shinan’s face instantly flushed. The pillow in her hands felt terrifyingly hot. What is a pillow for? She knew all too well! Last time, she had only agreed with a blush because Tang Yin was in a bad mood, putting the pillow under the blanket. But now, asking her to do it again, face to face? How could she possibly agree?!
It was truly too embarrassing to do in person.
“No!” Xia Shinan refused outright.
“But I want to see it.” Tang Yin’s eyes were pleading. “The way you were last time… it made me really want you.”
She had wished she could fly from Haicheng immediately.
Xia Shinan’s thoughts were completely scattered by her words. Her breathing was still a little strained. She searched for a loophole in Tang Yin’s words to give herself a lifeline. “Then you mean you don’t really want to do it right now?”
“Of course I do,” Tang Yin reached out and gently stroked her hair. “Of course… but I’d like to set the mood first.”
