- Chapter 92 - She Ran Away
The consequences of angering Fan Yi were truly terrifying.
A relentless storm of fury crashed down upon Si Tang, over and over again.
He was still lost in his madness.
Gripping her waist, he continued his frenzied assault without pause.
“Tangtang, in human books, such forced scenarios are called. making hate.” His smile was thick with madness, deliberately cruel. “Whether it’s making love or making hate, Tangtang seems to enjoy it all the same.”
Si Tang closed her eyes, wishing she could scrape the scales off this fish.
When he finally paused for a moment, Si Tang, overwhelmed with rage, mustered her strength and slapped him hard across the face.
He remained silent, turning his head to look at her, his eyes devoid of emotion as he studied her for a while.
Then, quietly, he took her wrist and guided her hand to slap his face again.
“Are you insane?” Si Tang cursed hoarsely, her voice still raw.
“If you’re angry, slap me a few more times,” he replied indifferently, his lowered gaze appearing utterly harmless.
Too furious to speak, Si Tang remained silent as he lifted her and carried her to the bathroom.
Noticing the fear in the young woman’s eyes, Fan Yi softened his voice and explained gently, “Just a bath.”
Just a bath?
In the bathroom, as Fan Yi washed her, he glanced up and noticed tears welling in the corners of her eyes. His throat tightened, and he leaned down to gently kiss them away.
He then pressed tender kisses to the bridge of her nose and her lips, but his comforting gestures did little to soothe Si Tang. She felt utterly broken, as if she had shattered inside.
His kisses trailed downward, and another wave of passion washed over her, leaving Si Tang panicked and uncertain. A sob escaped her lips, her face flushed like the glow of dawn. Tears of arousal mingled with a faint sense of grievance, tearing her apart.
When she finally relaxed, Fan Yi held her tightly in his arms, as if cradling his most precious treasure.
His voice trembled slightly as he called out to her, half-pleading, half-seeking reconciliation.
“Wife.”
Si Tang closed her eyes, neither speaking nor struggling, withering away as if lifeless.
Though her body had found pleasure, her eyes were filled with utter indifference.
Fan Yi finally felt a pang of panic. He carried Si Tang out of the bath, dried her carefully, and examined her injuries. Thanks to his earlier attentiveness, they had completely healed.
He carried her back to the bedroom, laid her gently on the bed, and tucked her in.
Then, lying beside her, he frowned slightly as he watched her.
Exhausted, Si Tang turned her back to him and closed her eyes. Her posture screamed, “Leave me alone, don’t bother me.”
Fan Yi tried to listen to her thoughts but found only emptiness.
A belated sense of regret washed over him.
He had lost control.
Lying down, he wrapped his arms tightly around Si Tang from behind and let out a soft sigh.
What was he to do? It seemed he could never truly learn how to love someone in the human world.
Fan Yi’s gaze drifted to the front courtyard of the seaside garden outside the window. The oppressive darkness loomed like a lurking monster, filled with the trivialities and bustle of human life, as well as the distractions of others.
Driven by his thoughts, he raised a finger, a faint white light shimmering at its tip, intending to lock all the doors.
He should make her understand, teach her obedience, punish her shouldn’t he?
But,
Fan Yi abruptly withdrew his finger, the white light dissipating. He took a deep breath and buried his face in the nape of Si Tang’s neck once more.
But he didn’t want to make her cry.
The next day.
When Si Tang woke up, Fan Yi was already awake, but for some reason, he didn’t dare open his eyes, afraid of seeing the faint chill and lifelessness in her gaze, just like the day before. He thought he should give her some space to process things, and then they could properly talk about what happened yesterday.
The thoughts echoing in his mind were all Si Tang’s curses and resentment.
Si Tang stared at Fan Yi, who kept his eyes tightly shut, and cursed him inwardly.
“You wretched fish, good thing you’re still asleep, or I’d slap you again!”
“You look so harmless when you’re asleep.”
Fan Yi buried his face in the blanket, hiding the faint upward curve of his lips.
Si Tang cursed at his sleeping face over a dozen times, but he showed no reaction at all, convincing her that he must truly be sleeping deeply.
So she quickly tidied her clothes and left the room.
Fan Yi kept his eyes closed, mentally planning how to talk to Si Tang later and how to apologize to her.
Most importantly, how to beg her so that she would soften and agree to his request.
Because he truly couldn’t stand seeing other people of the opposite sex getting close to Si Tang it made him want to kill.
He let out a low, troubled sigh in his heart.
After Fan Yi had thought everything through, he finally got up and went downstairs.
The living room was quiet, and Si Tang was already gone. Fan Yi knew she had gone to the company.
He suppressed the urge to chase after her to the office immediately after all, pushing her like that would only annoy her.
So he sat down on the sofa and was just about to check on what Si Tang was doing at the company when a strange noise came from outside the window. Fan Yi halted the activation of his divine power and looked toward the window.
It was the trident flying in.
Following it, 8856 walked in through the door.
“Lord Fan Yi, you and Si Tang are back from your vacation,” 8856 said as he approached, but noticing the oppressive aura around Fan Yi, he immediately fell silent.
Fan Yi responded with a nonchalant hum.
8856 stole a few glances at him, unable to decipher his mood for a moment.
He seemed irritable, yet there was an undeniable satisfaction and laziness between his brows. At the mention of “vacation,” a flicker of reminiscence and the pleasure of having his wish fulfilled were clearly visible in his eyes.
Weird. 8856 immediately guessed that he must have mated with that human.
But 8856 was already numb to it he had long anticipated this day. This fish was insane; nothing he did was surprising.
He sat down on the other sofa and began his routine monthly inspection of the threads of fate.
Suddenly, 8856 frowned as if he had seen something strange. “Huh?”
Fan Yi looked up at the sound.
“This person named Ling Xubai.” 8856 muttered softly.
Hearing the familiar name, Fan Yi’s ears twitched slightly.
“What is it?”
“It’s really strange. Ling Xubai’s lifespan has suddenly lengthened, and his future fate threads have turned blank,” 8856 said seriously. “This happens when someone who was supposed to die doesn’t, and fate hasn’t had time to write a new path yet.”
“Find out the reason,” Fan Yi’s gaze turned cold as he looked out the window, something flashing rapidly through his mind.
8856 waved his hand, and a golden screen appeared before him. He quickly scanned through it, then tapped on a specific point.
In the next moment, the screen projected a scene.
Ling Xubai was wearing a white sterile suit. Compared to his previously thin and frail wrists, the muscles on his forearms now appeared gradually defined and strong. His fair skin showed a healthy flush. He extracted a strange substance from a glass tube, then skillfully mixed it into a solution with a syringe and, without changing his expression, injected it into the back of his ear.
After watching for a while, the two gradually understood.
The origin of everything lay in that tube of blood drawn from Fan Yi during his hospital blood test.
Later, when the hospital disposed of it and sent it to the incineration center for destruction, it unexpectedly triggered a miraculous phenomenon of universal revival. The contaminated soil was then brought back by Ling Xubai for research. Subsequently, perhaps because no matching heart could be found, he resorted to testing the experimental drug on himself in a desperate bid to survive.
8856’s expression turned complicated. One had to admit, humans were truly intelligent and utterly reckless.
