- After Teasing the Crazy Mermaid, He Actually Deceived Me into Marriage
- Chapter 62 - Could It Be a Sudden Delusion?
If they hadn’t discovered it early, their competitors could have copied the designs in advance, or worse spread rumors that Xing Nian’s designs were plagiarized.
Of course, this was an old trick. The He Corporation’s design drafts had already been stolen by them, and the identity of the perpetrator remained unknown.
Fan Yi, however, knew exactly who was behind it.
Si Tang also had her suspicions.
Fan Yi recalled what 8856 had said to him the night before.
“In the original fate trajectory, Si Xi stole Miss Si Tang’s design drafts, falsely accused Xing Nian of plagiarism, spent two years fabricating and collecting evidence, and finally, after joining forces with He Moheng to seize her shares, sued Miss Si Tang for stealing trade secrets. She was sentenced to eight years in prison. Due to the cumulative effects of chronic poisoning and lack of timely medical care in prison, she fell gravely ill and passed away the year she was released at the age of 31.”
“I’ll redesign the drafts,” Si Tang said softly at that moment.
She needed to plan this carefully. She had a preliminary list of suspects for the mole, and though she had her suspicions about the mastermind, she had no concrete evidence.
She needed to wait for the perfect moment to catch the culprit red-handed.
Fan Yi curved his lips into a faint smile and nodded, his expression calm and composed.
“It’s fine. Whatever you design, I’ll find it perfect. As for the design drafts, why not set a trap?”
Their eyes met, and they realized they were thinking the same thing.
Si Tang called in her trusted assistant, gave a few instructions, and dismissed her.
“Remember, keep everything under wraps.”
After the assistant left, Si Tang’s tone was resolute. “Since this person is so greedy, I’ve instructed my assistant to subtly leak within the company that I’ve been working on a classic design recently. Then, on the surface, I’ll pretend to finalize a design draft and place it in a conspicuous location.”
“And here, I’ll install a hidden camera in my office that they won’t know about.”
Without alerting anyone, Si Tang quietly arranged everything, then left the company with Fan Yi and Xiao Liu as if nothing had happened.
On the way back, Si Tang suddenly remembered something and turned to Fan Yi beside her.
“Who do you think we should grant the agency rights to for the jewelry collection we’ll collaborate on in the future?”
They had the designs and products, but they lacked someone to promote them and maximize their profits.
Fan Yi looked at Si Tang, knowing she already had a decision in mind, and replied casually, “What do you think, Tangtang?”
“The He Corporation is a good choice,” Si Tang said seriously.
“…”
8856, who was driving in the front seat, suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.
Si Tang didn’t notice the momentary stiffness in Fan Yi’s smile before he slowly lowered his head.
“I’m referring to He Chenzhou. He’s very capable,” she continued matter-of-factly. “I want to grant the exclusive agency rights for this jewelry collection to the He Corporation.”
Fan Yi slowly lowered his gaze, his fingers subtly clenching as he concealed a surge of jealous resentment.
After a moment, he lifted his eyelids and, under Si Tang’s expectant gaze, forced a seemingly gentle smile.
“Whatever you say.”
8856, seeing his duplicitous expression, shrank his neck slightly.
“Take me to the hospital first,” Si Tang nodded, completely oblivious to his unusual behavior. “It’s time to finalize the matter of the shares.”
She was purely considering how to maximize their profits. If they could collaborate with the He Corporation, it would be highly beneficial for both her and Fan Yi.
The car turned onto another main road and arrived at Capital Hospital.
Si Tang pulled a document folder from the storage compartment, got out of the car, and said to Fan Yi, “You can head back first.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, she saw Fan Yi step out of the car.
“Since we’re supposed to act affectionate, how can we not put on a show in front of your father?” Fan Yi curled his lips into a smirk.
“I’m coming too, Sister Si Tang. I’ll protect you,” Xiao Liu chimed in.
Mainly to prevent Lord Fan Yi from getting irritated and killing the two insignificant figures from the Si family.
Those two had their own miserable fates awaiting them, which was why Lord Fan Yi had never bothered to take action against them before.
Si Tang couldn’t help but smile, and so the three of them entered the hospital together.
In the VIP ward, Chen Yue was feeding Si Chenfeng soup. She looked no different from a gentle, caring wife tending to her husband.
The moment Si Tang’s face appeared before them, Si Chenfeng immediately roared angrily.
“Ungrateful daughter! You finally decided to show up! Are you pleased to see me so enraged? Let me tell you, even if I die, you won’t get a single share of the company stock!”
As he finished speaking, Chen Yue, who had slightly lowered her head, flashed a sinister, triumphant smile.
“I’m not here to see you,” Si Tang said expressionlessly, pulling a contract from the document folder. “You seem to be in good spirits, with so much energy to talk. Then sign these.”
Si Chenfeng’s gaze fell on the document it was a stock transfer agreement.
Both Si Chenfeng and Chen Yue’s faces instantly turned ashen.
Si Chenfeng remained motionless, his eyes unconsciously shifting to Fan Yi, who had been standing by Si Tang’s side, observing indifferently.
Suddenly, he spoke up, “How much is this wretched girl paying you? I’ll give you ten times that. I know you two aren’t truly in love or married for real!”
He had found a loophole in the will. If he could get this couple divorced, he had a way to stall the court and delay the judgment.
Si Tang had to admire his cunning.
Before she could say anything, a force suddenly wrapped around her waist Fan Yi had pulled her into his embrace. He smiled gently at Si Chenfeng on the hospital bed and said, “Father-in-law, you jest. Tangtang and I are deeply in love. My feelings for her will never change, not for all eternity.”
Si Tang was momentarily stunned. Perhaps this was the first time someone had said “for all eternity” to her. Most people would say “for a lifetime,” wouldn’t they?
No, it seemed there was another voice in her memory that had once promised her “for all eternity” as well.
“Forming a bond means an eternal contract between two souls.”
A vague, deep voice flashed through her mind like an auditory hallucination. Si Tang shook her head slightly, her eyes narrowing.
What a strange illusion.
Shaking off her unease, Si Tang sharpened her gaze and looked at Si Chenfeng.
“Father, if you don’t sign now, don’t blame me for taking you to court or announcing it to the world. Not only will you bear the reputation of being heartless and unjust, but I will also personally expose this woman as the mistress!”
Si Chenfeng was so furious he nearly jumped out of bed. Seeing that harsh tactics weren’t working, he tried a softer approach.
“Xiao Tang, it’s not that I’m unwilling, but you know, if I give you 23% of the shares, you’re still young. What if someone tricks you out of them? The Si family could fall into dire straits.”
Fan Yi thought this wretched old man was spouting nonsense. If he weren’t on his deathbed, he’d have loved to kick him out the window.
Si Tang remained completely unmoved, her attitude exceptionally firm. She even picked up her phone, pretending to dial the media.
“At the banquet that day, Father publicly promised in front of everyone that he would return the shares to me. If everyone finds out you’re someone who goes back on your word, what do you think will happen?”
Under Si Tang’s forceful pressure, Si Chenfeng’s face flushed red with suppressed anger. Suddenly, a dark glint flashed in his eyes. He feigned chest tightness and shortness of breath, clutching his chest dramatically while lamenting in agony, “Unfilial daughter! How unfilial!”
Beside him, Chen Yue anxiously pressed the call button. But just then, as if with a mind of its own, Si Chenfeng’s hand suddenly grabbed a pen, scrawled his signature on the contract, and, as if that weren’t enough, bit his finger and pressed a bloody fingerprint onto the document.
This sudden, seamless series of actions left both Si Tang and Chen Yue utterly stunned.
After finishing, Si Chenfeng stared at the signed contract as if snapping back to reality, and he too was dumbfounded. He even rubbed his eyes, suspecting it was an illusion.
Only 8856 acted swiftly, snatching the contract and stuffing it into a document folder.
Chen Yue even began to wonder if Si Chenfeng had lost his mind perhaps he was suffering from a sudden bout of hysteria.
Otherwise, how could one explain what had just happened?
