- Chapter 13 - The Tail Is Even More Brutal
As his voice fell, he let out an amused hum.
One hand restrained her waist, while the other lifted to grip her chin. Si Tang had no choice but to meet his gaze. His expression could be described as calm, the corners of his lips slightly upturned, but his deep blue eyes were like whirlpools, stirring up towering waves it was nothing but desire.
His tail was even more brutish and violent, unlike the tranquility on his face.
“You brought this upon yourself,” Fan Yi seemed to sneer by her ear.
In truth, Fan Yi had never experienced such a feeling before and had no idea how to face the current situation. He only felt as if he were holding a cool, soft bundle, desperately inhaling her scent at her neck. His tail, uncontrollable and chaotic, rubbed against her body without restraint, trying to alleviate his physical discomfort.
Finally, after an hour had passed. The cool fragrance lingered, his hand still encircled her waist, the damp sound of his breathing gradually calmed, and his scorching body temperature slowly returned to its usual coolness.
Yet she couldn’t help but tremble lightly, feeling a sense of confusion as if she had lost track of time.
Fan Yi, having regained his composure, instinctively glanced down at the young woman in his arms.
Her eyes were closed, her crimson lips tightly bitten. Her entire face and dark, long hair were damp with moisture, and even her eyelashes trembled faintly. Pressed down by his overwhelming dominance, she could only lean weakly against the wet stone wall, looking utterly pitiful.
For some reason, Fan Yi froze for a few seconds.
Then, as if scalded, he furrowed his brows, and Si Tang felt the cage-like restraint and his presence retreat from her.
Only then did Si Tang open her eyes, wiping the moisture from her face. She instinctively looked up and saw Fan Yi standing by the hot spring.
He had completely returned to his usual self, his dark robes fitting perfectly without a single wrinkle. His damp silver hair had dried, and he stood as elegant and composed as ever, his eyes devoid of any emotion, as if everything that had just happened was merely driven by instinct and indeed, that was the case.
Only Si Tang remained in a disheveled state, leaning against the edge of the hot spring.
His eyes narrowed slightly, his voice deeper and hoarser than usual as he spoke.
“Why did you come back?”
Si Tang’s eyelashes fluttered, and after a few seconds of silence, she answered softly, her tone resolute.
“I want to help you, Lord Fan Yi. I think… perhaps we could become friends.”
Fan Yi seemed to find this amusing and actually let out a laugh.
“Human, do you even know what you’re saying?”
“Why not?” Unfazed by his mockery, Si Tang lifted her head and looked at him earnestly. “Have you ever had a friend, Lord Fan Yi?”
Staring into those sincere eyes, Fan Yi was momentarily speechless.
He truly had no friends. The gods avoided him, and only out of respect for his status as the Chief God’s brother did they show him deference.
According to Divine Messenger 8856 of this world, he had committed grave sins, and the Chief God, unable to withstand the pressure from the other gods, had judged him and exiled him here. However, during the judgment, he lost thousands of years of memories, which he still hadn’t recovered. And in those thousands of years, perhaps he had had friends.
At this thought, he turned his head away.
“You’re dreaming.”
Without waiting for Si Tang to respond, he vanished on the spot, leaving her with the impression that he seemed somewhat flustered.
After he had completely left, Si Tang slowly rose and wiped her body. She hissed lightly, lifting her skirt to look down, and sure enough, her fair belly and thighs were flushed red. Fortunately, that fish was unexpectedly pure-hearted and hadn’t taken things further.
Fuming, Si Tang’s eyelids twitched. She took a deep breath, got up, and stepped out of the hot spring to change into clean clothes, cursing the wretched fish three thousand times in her heart.
Recalling Fan Yi’s reaction just moments ago, Si Tang felt that her change in strategy wasn’t entirely without effect.
As long as she could move this fish, she would surely find a way to leave.
Yet, if Si Tang had known that one day she would play with fire and get burned, she would never have resorted to this method now.
By the time she realized it, everything would be too late.
Meanwhile, when Fan Yi returned to the depths of the sea, his face was shadowed with gloom.
The rebuilt Atlantis palace was resplendent and magnificent. Between the pillars entwined with glowing jellyfish, mother-of-pearl inlaid reliefs were engraved with trident emblems.
Beneath the translucent dome, a giant Tridacna shell opened to form a throne, and the obsidian steps were covered with star sand that shifted colors with the water’s flow. In the deep sea, the fluorescent glow of jellyfish and squid flickered through the fragmented stained-glass windows, flowing along with Fan Yi’s silver fishtail.
Fan Yi leaned against the throne, his expression icy, yet his gaze was vacant as he stared at a crystal ball nearby, seemingly lost in thought.
Perhaps agitated, he raised his hand, a white light swirling in his palm, and the trident beside him began to tremble.
Fan Yi commanded, “8856, come out!”
As his words fell, a golden light shimmered before him. Though it hadn’t taken human form, it could speak in a human voice a tone resembling that of a teenage boy, respectful and apprehensive.
“Lord Fan Yi, what are your orders?”
8856 floated cautiously in the sea depths, terrified of provoking the living ancestor before him and causing him to overturn the seabed. This was certainly something Fan Yi was capable of, given his notorious reputation. Several worlds where this ancestor had resided had been thrown into turmoil.
Lately, this sea god had been plundering countless ships, and ghostly legends had become popular among humans, yet he remained unperturbed.
“Do you have friends?” Fan Yi suddenly asked.
8856: “???”
“Lord Fan Yi, I am merely a divine envoy overseeing the order and fate of this world. Friendship is a concept among mortals. If I must say, since my creation, I have been managing this world, maintaining the fate lines set by the Goddess of Destiny among humans every day. I have no friends,” 8856 replied truthfully.
Fan Yi seemed to ponder for a few seconds before asking, “Without friends, do you feel regret or boredom?”
“Lord Fan Yi, I don’t quite understand,” 8856 responded, slightly confused.
Fan Yi fell silent for a moment, then said, “Then what pursuits do you have?”
