- After Teasing the Crazy Mermaid, He Actually Deceived Me into Marriage
- Chapter 12 - Didn’t You Say You Would Help Me?
The man curled his lips into a slight smile as he approached, his silver hair casting a moonlit silhouette against his dark brocade robe, making him appear almost divine. Yet the malice in his eyes was impossible to conceal.
When he reached Si Tang, he lowered his gaze slightly, his posture exuding arrogance.
An intimidating pressure filled the air.
Si Tang looked up at him, her eyes as bright as stars amidst the mist. Her gaze, as if worshipping a deity, was full of submission and reverence.
Fan Yi stared at her for a long time.
So long that Si Tang’s body began to tremble slightly, feeling as though even the boiling hot spring could not warm the chill that had seeped into her bones.
Suddenly, a soft chuckle broke the silence. Fan Yi curved his lips, bent down with a hint of regret, and gently stroked the girl’s glass-like eyes as if with affection.
“Human, your eyes are truly deceptive.”
His voice, growing softer, was ambiguous and hard to decipher.
A cold touch brushed the corner of her eye, causing Si Tang’s eyelashes to tremble faintly.
Si Tang couldn’t understand what had gone wrong.
She had pretended perfectly, so why had he still seen through her disguise?
Fan Yi withdrew his finger, observing this fragile and insignificant human before him, who intrigued him like a puzzle to be solved.
Before she awoke, he had thought that if she were to beg tearfully for mercy, he would only find it dull. Instead, he was met with precisely the right amount of submission and feigned devotion.
She was clever, understanding exactly what kind of reaction he wanted to see.
An unprecedented desire to conquer spread through Fan Yi’s heart. He thought to himself, this toy might entertain him for a long time.
With a light wave of his hand, a plate of roasted meat appeared before Si Tang.
Si Tang understood this was a sign that the punishment had come to an end.
There were no utensils for the meat, but Si Tang did not ask him for any. She reached out, grabbed the roasted meat, and began to chew, her face expressionless.
Fan Yi watched with a slightly raised eyebrow.
It seemed to him that something about this human had suddenly changed overnight.
Fan Yi moved the blanket and clothes back to her. After doing so, he prepared to leave.
Just as he was about to activate his divine power, he suddenly paused, frowned, and looked down at his fingertips, as if sensing something unusual happening within his body.
After a few seconds of stillness, he slowly looked up with sudden realization and spoke to Si Tang, who was still huddled in the hot spring.
“Get out.”
Si Tang: “???”
She stared at him in confusion, not comprehending. Her eyes clearly asked, “Why haven’t you left yet?”
In the past, he would vanish in an instant.
Fan Yi pressed his lips tightly together, as if restraining something, his expression slightly dazed and bewildered. (He was only 300 years old in memory and understood nothing this was the adolescence of a deity.)
If he wasn’t mistaken, this was.
Fan Yi’s breathing grew heavier. Suddenly, unable to bear it any longer, he grabbed Si Tang and tossed her out of the hot spring. Under her stunned gaze, he lay down in the spring himself.
Si Tang: “…?”
Sprawled on a nearby rock, Si Tang stared wide-eyed as Fan Yi submerged himself in the hot spring, utterly baffled.
He sank beneath the surface, only his flawless face visible above the water, his half-closed eyelids hiding those mesmerizing, deep blue eyes.
The rising steam blurred Si Tang’s vision, but through the haze she could vaguely see the water surface boiling and churning as if something were about to break free from its prison. The next moment, fine silver scales gradually emerged across Fan Yi’s neck, and a shimmering silver fishtail suddenly broke through the water’s surface. As the tail swayed gently in the water, the scales reflected a dazzling array of colors, making the surrounding spring water glitter with radiant light.
The candlelight fractured into countless golden specks across the ripples, casting an eerily enchanting glow upon his features.
Si Tang stood frozen in place, momentarily forgetting to breathe. This breathtaking scene seemed permanently etched in her eyes, impossible to erase.
Such beauty was soul-stirring, unforgettable for a lifetime.
His usually steady breathing grew increasingly rapid in the dim stone cave, adding a humid tension to the air that made Si Tang dizzy and her heart race.
Si Tang knew clearly that this must be his vulnerable period.
Otherwise, he could have immediately returned to the sea instead of needing this thermal spring’s waters.
Si Tang scrambled to her feet, instinctively retreating cautiously while observing his reactions.
It appeared he hadn’t completely lost consciousness, but was merely uncomfortable.
She kept retreating until the scene disappeared from view, yet he made no move against her. Reaching the cave entrance, Si Tang discovered the originally silver-transparent barrier had grown fainter but hadn’t vanished.
Unable to determine whether she felt disappointed, she regretfully averted her gaze while mentally replaying the earlier scene.
What’s happening to him? Si Tang wondered again.
She had to admit that in her current situation, without Fan Yi she might have a one-in-a-thousand chance of escaping this place otherwise, certain death awaited. By his side, though she lacked freedom, she could at least temporarily preserve her life, since he currently held immense interest in her.
Perhaps she should change her strategy.
Since Fan Yi possessed such power, why not choose a different path?
Since escape seemed nearly impossible anyway, why not find a way to persuade him to willingly return her to the mainland?
And now, during his vulnerable period, hadn’t this heaven-sent opportunity fallen right before her?
Si Tang’s dark eyes grew increasingly shadowy in the candlelight before, as if reaching some decision, she directly retraced her steps back to the cave’s inner chamber.
Fan Yi lay reclined in the thermal spring, his dazzling silver fishtail swirling with breathtaking radiance, magnificent and spectacular. His black robe had disappeared, revealing prominent collarbones, while his silver hair floated in the spring water. His jade-like, exquisite face, damp with steam, carried an unexpectedly fragile innocence that appeared utterly harmless.
Seeming to hear her returning footsteps, Fan Yi’s half-closed eyelids twitched slightly but didn’t open.
Si Tang could almost hear her own thunderous heartbeat as she swallowed hard, approaching step by step while keeping her voice as soft and friendly as possible.
“Lord Fan Yi, is there anything I can do to help you?”
The moment the words left her lips, Fan Yi’s eyes snapped open their dark, predatory intensity instantly pinning her like a nocturnal beast seizing its prey!
Every alarm in Si Tang’s mind screamed in thunderous warning, and she immediately regretted her decision.
Stumbling backward a step, the rising steam blurred her vision, yet the dangerous glint in Fan Yi’s eyes remained vividly clear. Instinctively, she turned to flee.
The next moment, with the sound of splashing water, a shimmering silver fishtail broke through the surface, coiling around her ankle like a hunting sea snake.
Si Tang let out a startled cry as she was dragged into the hot spring, scalding water immediately flooding her nostrils. When the man’s strong arms lifted her above the water, she noticed a few faint, intricate white scale patterns emerging along the side of his neck, lending him an aura of mysterious, forbidden allure.
“Let go. Mph!”
Her protest was muffled against his abruptly pressing chest. Fan Yi’s burning palm pressed against the small of her back, pulling her closer, while his restless tail slapped the water’s surface, the bony edges of his fins leaving red marks on her calves. His originally cold, lifeless body now radiated heat like a furnace, scorching Si Tang’s senses and consciousness.
He rubbed against her almost clumsily, and Si Tang was so terrified she froze, struggling helplessly.
He buried his face in the crook of her neck, his newly sharpened fangs unconsciously grazing the pulsing veins beneath her skin. His breath carried an intoxicating, cool fragrance.
His voice, close and unhurried, was hoarse and uneven.
“Didn’t you say. you would help me?”
