After Mistaking My Stepsister’s First Love - Chapter 19
Ye Wenjin desperately wanted to suppress the heat rising to her cheeks, but it was impossible.
So, she gave up, patted her face, and stood up to walk over to Jian Mo. Leaning in close, she whispered, “Sis, I thought you wouldn’t come.”
The smile on Jian Mo’s face remained unchanged as she lowered her voice to reply, “Did Xiao Jin not want me to come? Or did you have another guardian in mind?”
Ye Wenjin shook her head slightly and quickly explained, “No, it’s not that. I was just worried I’d be interrupting your work. I’m really happy you came.”
Jian Mo gently patted her head, her tone soft. “You did the right thing by telling me about this right away, Xiao Jin. You did well.”
Ye Wenjin felt her face grow even hotter. The way her sister praised her sounded exactly like she was coaxing a child.
She patted her cheeks again, trying to calm herself.
After exchanging just a few words, the two fell silent. Ye Wenjin hadn’t forgotten the reason Jian Mo was here.
Once they finished speaking, the homeroom teacher invited Jian Mo inside.
Ye Wenjin followed closely behind her and naturally sat down beside Jian Mo.
Noticing her actions, Jian Mo’s lips curved up slightly.
Only Rong Yunshu frowned as she watched their interaction.
She wasn’t mistaken this was the same woman who had picked up Ye Wenjin yesterday.
Now, seeing how the two interacted, the atmosphere between them was unmistakable. The suspicion in her heart suddenly solidified, and Rong Yunshu fell silent.
While the guardians of both parties had arrived, Yin Feifei, the primary instigator, still hadn’t had anyone show up on her behalf.
However, the homeroom teacher had just vented his anger earlier and was now relatively calm. After meeting with the two guardians, he explained the situation to them in detail.
Rong Yunjuan was surprised. She knew her younger sister well outwardly warm-hearted but actually quite indifferent.
Fighting back for a classmate’s safety didn’t seem to align with her usual demeanor at all.
But when she turned to look, she saw Rong Yunshu staring blankly, lost in thought.
Rong Yunjuan was about to look away when, in that instant, a realization struck her.
Rong Yunshu didn’t just seem absent-minded her gaze was fixed on something.
Subtly following her line of sight, Rong Yunjuan realized she was staring at the other student’s sister.
As an older sister herself, Rong Yunjuan had to admit that the other woman seemed more like the ideal elder sibling graceful, gentle, and endlessly patient with her younger counterpart.
Even after being called in as a guardian, she showed no trace of anger or mockery. She was practically the perfect sister.
Rong Yunjuan reflected on herself and inwardly clicked her tongue.
So Rong Yunshu liked this kind of sister? All her efforts had been in vain.
Absurd thoughts flitted through her mind, but soon Rong Yunjuan noticed that Rong Yunshu’s expression didn’t seem like admiration more like scrutiny?
After observing for a while and still failing to understand, Rong Yunjuan nudged Rong Yunshu. “Yunshu, is what the teacher said true?”
Rong Yunshu hadn’t really been listening and only nodded reflexively. “Mhm!”
Rong Yunjuan looked at her as if seeing her for the first time, giving her a strange glance before turning back to the homeroom teacher.
“So, Teacher, what do you suggest?”
She had always been straightforward in her speech, disliking beating around the bush, so she directly asked how this matter should be handled.
The dean of students thought for a moment, weighing her words carefully, and said, “The main fault in this incident doesn’t lie with them, and the situation hasn’t caused significant harm. Therefore, I believe the focus should be on criticism and education.
The reason we asked the two students to call their parents was to remind them to properly educate their children about the dangers of releasing pheromones in public.”
“Although the impact this time wasn’t severe, the behavior itself is unacceptable. An Alpha’s pheromones can induce a high-compatibility Omega into heat, and even the slightest leakage in public is absolutely forbidden. Parents must pay attention to this aspect of education.”
Rong Yunjuan humbly accepted the criticism. After all, if this matter were to be treated seriously, it could be classified as a physical altercation or even escalated to a legal violation.
It was only because the main student involved was from another school, and the two were merely caught up in the incident, that the dean was being so lenient. Otherwise, she certainly wouldn’t have been so accommodating.
However, Rong Yunjuan didn’t expect the elder sister of the other student, who had been listening attentively, to suddenly speak up: “What the teacher says is reasonable. May I ask what punishment the main offender will face?”
The dean frowned slightly, clearly finding the situation difficult to handle. But after some thought, she replied, “Since she isn’t a student at our school, the matter will be transferred to her own institution for disciplinary action.”
Jian Mo nodded.
Everyone assumed she had accepted this resolution until the next moment, when they heard her say:
“In that case, let’s call the police.”
Her words left the entire room in stunned silence.
The dean hadn’t anticipated this either. The woman appeared so gentle, yet her stance was unexpectedly firm.
But there was nothing inherently wrong with her suggestion. After all, the student in question had indeed violated laws pertaining to Alphas.
Truthfully, though the dean was angry, she had instinctively leaned toward resolving the matter peacefully, considering that no actual harm had been done. Despite the student being from another school, the two universities were close, and there was some goodwill between them.
Punishment was certainly warranted, but she hadn’t considered involving the police. Who would have thought this parent would be so unyielding?
Even Ye Wenjin was taken aback. She instinctively looked at Jian Mo, only to hear her say, “The deliberate release of pheromones in public is an egregious act in itself. To show leniency simply because the perpetrator is a student would be unfair.”
Her expression was calm, and though she smiled, her eyes were cold.
“Besides, this student is already an adult and should be held accountable for her actions.”
The dean hesitated, visibly conflicted, feeling that escalating the matter was unnecessary.
But Rong Yunjuan’s eyes lit up.
Well, well, well, I thought she was just a gentle older sister. Turns out, the gentleness is real, the sisterly demeanor is real, but she wields a tender blade, sharp and unrelenting.
Ye Wenjin stared at Jian Mo in a daze, warmth flooding her heart.
Sister, is this because of me?
