After Mistakenly Marking Her Stunning Omega Stepsister - Chapter 12
The group jumped in surprise, turning to see Lin Sui. They immediately felt uneasy.
After all, she was a black belt since elementary school, a genetically superior Alpha. Even without raising a hand, the slightest hint of her pheromones could make them crumble.
The faces of the people around Chen Huaxing shifted rapidly as they hastily apologized.
“Sorry, Miss Lin! We didn’t know it was you. We didn’t mean any disrespect!”
“Yeah, we didn’t mean to! Hey, Brother Xing, I just remembered I have something to do. I’ll celebrate your birthday next time!”
“Me too! I’ve got stuff to take care of. See you later, Brother Xing.”
The crowd that had been gathered around them scattered in an instant, leaving Chen Huaxing standing alone.
His legs suddenly went weak, and he nearly fell to his knees.
“I’m sorry. I’ll leave right away.”
“What’s the rush?” Lin Sui raised an eyebrow, casually withdrawing her pheromones bit by bit.
Her pheromones were overwhelmingly potent, inevitably affecting the other diners in the restaurant. Everyone watched the scene unfold warily, none daring to move.
Chen Huaxing forced a dry laugh. “Well then…”
“In the future, when you see Wen Xiangzhu,” Lin Sui said deliberately, “you will step back ten meters. Understood?”
“Understood, understood.” Chen Huaxing nodded, offering an ingratiating smile.
He was well aware of the Lin family’s influence. Even a fool wouldn’t dare to openly defy Lin Sui.
What he couldn’t figure out was how Wen Xiangzhu had managed to cozy up to Lin Sui so completely that she would even dine alone with her.
As he pondered this, Lin Sui glanced at him with disdain, as if dismissing a beggar. “What are you still standing there for? Get out of here!”
“I’m leaving, I’m leaving.”
Lin Sui felt as if encountering Chen Huaxing today had brought her bad luck, leaving her feeling uneasy all over.
As she sat down, she realized Wen Xiangzhu had been watching her the whole time, her expression unreadable.
“Why are you staring at me?” Lin Sui asked, puzzled.
Wen Xiangzhu blinked, a faint smile creeping across her face. “I just felt… you were so cool just now, Sister.”
She paused before adding, “Since we’re not at school, I can call you ‘Sister’.”
Lin Sui looked at Wen Xiangzhu, her eyelashes trembling slightly, momentarily stunned.
Coming back to her senses, she quickly averted her gaze, the tips of her ears growing warm. She hastily changed the subject, “Have you finished ordering?”
“Almost. Want to take a look, Sister?” Wen Xiangzhu asked softly, sliding the menu across the table.
Lin Sui called the server and handed over the menu.
“No need. You think I can’t afford it?”
“That’s not it,” Wen Xiangzhu said, pursing her lips. “I’m afraid you won’t like what I ordered.”
Lin Sui glanced at her. “Mm… it’s fine. I’ll eat anything. This restaurant is pretty good anyway.”
“Good.”
After finishing their meal, Lin Sui returned to the classroom to find Zhu Huan already seated.
Lin Sui walked over and casually asked, “How was your date?”
“What date? It was just a regular meal with a regular friend,” Zhu Huan replied.
“Right. An Alpha and an Omega having a private meal as ‘regular friends.’ I get it, I understand. No need to explain,” Lin Sui said with an understanding smile.
Zhu Huan glared at her. “So what? You and Wen Xiangzhu went out to eat alone too, didn’t you?”
Lin Sui’s smile froze. “Our situation is different, okay?”
“How is it different?”
“My relationship with her is… different from yours, obviously.”
“Got it. So you have a normal friendship, but we have something more.” Zhu Huan chuckled softly.
Lin Sui: “……”
Ten minutes before the end of evening study, Yang Li came to talk about the sports meet.
Wen Xiangzhu turned around, looking curiously at Lin Sui. “What events are you signing up for?”
“Sign up for the long-distance race and the high jump,” Lin Sui said casually.
Wen Xiangzhu nodded thoughtfully and turned back to her desk.
After evening study, she packed her bag, her gaze lingering on the cup of lemon tea resting in the corner of her desk.
“Wenwen, let’s go back to the dormitory,” Lu Xiaomeng said, getting up and looking at her.
“Okay.”
Wen Xiangzhu lowered her eyes and reached for the cup of lemon tea.
“I’ve seen you leave this here all day. Why haven’t you drunk it?” Lu Xiaomeng asked, puzzled. She hadn’t been in the classroom when it happened, so she didn’t know what had occurred.
Wen Xiangzhu’s eyelashes fluttered slightly. “I don’t want to drink it. I’ll throw it away later.”
“Throw it away?” Lu Xiaomeng’s eyes widened in surprise. “Why?”
“I just don’t want to drink it,” Wen Xiangzhu replied, keeping her eyes downcast.
The cup of lemon tea had been secretly given to Lin Sui by someone, along with a card. The moment she saw it, she felt uneasy, completely disgusted by the whole thing.
As she passed a trash bin, Wen Xiangzhu tossed the lemon tea inside.
But she kept the card.
She needed to find an opportunity to compare the handwriting on the card with others, to figure out exactly who…

In the dormitory, Zhu Huan was reading a forum post, her expression growing increasingly serious.
She walked over to Lin Sui. “Quick, look at this post.”
Lin Sui was organizing the desk drawers. Hearing Zhu Huan’s voice, she turned around.
The post’s title was: [ Shocking News About the Grade’s Top Student!!! ]
Seeing the words “grade’s top student,” Lin Sui immediately thought of Wen Xiangzhu.
[Today, I went to a fancy restaurant and saw the grade’s top student and a certain Eldest Miss from our school—an Alpha and an Omega—dining alone. You know what that means.]
[Update: The grade’s top student is an Omega. This Alpha even stands up for them. (I can’t name names, but the info is 100% accurate. Use your imagination!)]
*****
After reading the main post, Lin Sui’s eyes darkened.
Zhu Huan glanced at Xia Yi, who was nearby with headphones on, and Ye Shuqian, who had already gone to bed. Lowering her voice, she asked, “Is this about you and Wen Xiangzhu?”
“Yes.”
Lin Sui took a deep breath. “Today I ran into Chen Huaxing and his lackeys. I gave them a scare.”
The comments section was full of speculation.
[Which grade’s top student are you talking about, exactly?]
How are we supposed to guess that?
Oh, I looked into it. This time, only the grade 2 and grade 3 top scorers in the monthly exam were Omegas!
Nice! Now the range is narrowed down.
Lin Sui rolled her eyes and looked away.
These people are so bored. Let them guess.
Zhu Huan hesitated. “Are you sure it’s okay? Should we get someone to delete the post?”
“It’s fine.” Lin Sui narrowed her eyes. “Stop wasting time on the forum. Let’s play some games instead.”
“Sure.”
Lin Sui had given up trying to sleep. Since she was going to be up anyway, she might as well stay up all night.
The late-night gaming session inevitably led to both of them nodding off in class the next day.
“What did you two do last night? You look exhausted,” Yang Li asked, approaching their desk during the break.
Zhu Huan chuckled. “We just… played a bit too long.”
The Lin and Zhu families were both influential, so as their homeroom teacher, Yang Li naturally took a keen interest in them.
She smiled helplessly. “Just sleep when you should. If you want to play, do it during the day.”
“Got it.”
Lin Sui sat up wearily. “I definitely won’t sleep in the next class.”
Yang Li chuckled. “That’s the gym class. You won’t be able to sleep even if you want to. Look, everyone’s already gone outside.”
Hearing this, Lin Sui froze, suddenly noticing that the once-crowded classroom was now much emptier.
“Alright, snap out of it. It’s time for class.” Yang Li patted the two girls on the shoulder and left the classroom.
Lin Sui sighed and slowly stood up. “Let’s go,” she said to Zhu Huan.
Wen Xiangzhu, who had been writing at the desk in front, put down her pen and stood up, pulling Lu Xiaomeng along. “We should go. Class is starting soon.”
“Okay.” Lu Xiaomeng carefully tucked away the novel she was halfway through before standing up.
Wen Xiangzhu and Lu Xiaomeng followed Lin Sui and Zhu Huan out of the classroom.
The four split into two pairs, keeping a distance between them.
Lu Xiaomeng glanced at Wen Xiangzhu, then at Lin Sui ahead, and finally couldn’t resist asking, “Wenwen, let me ask you something.”
“What?”
“Do you… like her?”
As the words hung in the air, Wen Xiangzhu’s eyelashes fluttered slightly, and her gaze shifted away from Lin Sui. She pressed her lips together, her steps slowing. “No, of course not.”
“Really?” Lu Xiaomeng asked skeptically. “Why do I feel like you care a lot about Lin Sui?”
Wen Xiangzhu lowered her head, remaining silent.
Seeing this, Lu Xiaomeng sighed, as if understanding something. “Just try to accept it. Lin Sui and Zhu Huan are heaven’s favored daughters, genetically superior Alphas born above us. They’re out of reach for ordinary people like us.”
She paused, tugged at Wen Xiangzhu’s hand, and said solemnly, “I understand how you feel.”
Wen Xiangzhu: “……”
Truth be told, her situation with Lin Sui… was really quite different.
During gym class, as usual, after running laps for warm-up, everyone dispersed for free activity.
Lin Sui found a spot under a tree, sat down, and played with her phone for a while. When she looked up, she saw Wen Xiangzhu, Zhu Huan, and several other classmates gathering sports equipment.
Zhu Huan looked at Lin Sui and called out, “Want to play tennis?”
“No, you guys go ahead.”
“Alright.”
Watching them walk toward the nearby tennis courts, Lin Sui looked away.
Just then, a girl approached her. “Um…”
Lin Sui froze, looking up suspiciously.
She remembered this was an Omega in their class, someone who rarely stood out. She couldn’t even recall the girl’s name.
The girl’s ears flushed pink as she handed her a bottle of drink. “Here, it’s for you.”
“For me?” Lin Sui frowned, puzzled.
“Yeah, I went to the vending machine and grabbed the wrong thing. I thought this wasn’t a carbonated drink… so I’m giving it to you. Don’t let it go to waste.”
With that, she shoved the drink into Lin Sui’s hands and dashed away.
Lin Sui held the drink, looking utterly bewildered.
After a moment, she reluctantly set it down beside her, accepting the gesture.
Not far away, Wen Xiangzhu stood with her tennis racket, staring blankly in Lin Sui’s direction, her eyes flickering with something unreadable.
“Wenwen? Go retrieve the ball.”
“Oh… right.”
