After Marrying the Cold Omega in Secret - Chapter 33
What?
Chu Jin could not believe what she just heard.
She began to question if the person in front of her was still the same President Chi she had known all this time.
Looking back, Chu Jin realized that ever since Qiao Man appeared, Chi Ye had started acting differently. They had agreed to pretend to be affectionate in front of Yan Sisi for show, but in the past few days, Yan Sisi had barely been mentioned.
From that night during her susceptibility period when Chi Ye seduced her, to now, when Chi Ye herself was in her own special phase, she had taken the lead in drawing Chu Jin in. Earlier, they had nearly gone too far during filming.
What exactly was Chi Ye trying to do?
Did she really like her?
Or was Chu Jin just a convenient outlet during this time?
Between those two possibilities, Chu Jin still felt the second was more likely.
Just like Song Xunyu had warned her in the beginning, Chi Ye must have had a reason for offering her such favorable terms in the agreement.
Perhaps she had always been interested in her body.
Still, it was a little strange for one alpha to pursue another alpha.
Before Chu Jin could dwell on it further, they arrived at the restaurant. It was a Chinese restaurant that Qiao Man had booked in advance, including the private dining room and menu.
Since their schedule was packed, they finished the meal quickly and headed to the next part of the day’s plans.
Their destination was Linhe Amusement Park, a place Chu Jin had always wanted to visit during her school days but never got the chance to go. She had heard it was always crowded, and the long lines had kept her away.
But when they arrived at the gate today, something was different.
There were no visitors at all.
The entrance to the park stood wide open, but the crowds were gone. It was quiet, yet all the staff were still in uniform, smiling and ready to welcome them.
“Why is there no one here?” Chu Jin asked, confused.
The sun was bright overhead. As soon as Chi Ye stepped out of the car, she put on her sunglasses. She was completely different from how she had been in private with Chu Jin. Her whole demeanor now carried a calm and distant elegance.
Her eyes were hidden behind the dark lenses. Without much emotion, her lips moved slightly as she replied, “I booked the entire park.”
Chu Jin froze.
This was a place that usually welcomed twenty or thirty thousand visitors a day, and she had just casually booked it for herself?
Even Qiao Man looked shocked.
Chi Ye didn’t seem to understand why they were surprised. She added in a calm voice, “It didn’t cost much.”
She said it as casually as if she were talking about what she had eaten for lunch.
Chu Jin glanced toward the cameraman. Luckily, the crew was still adjusting the equipment, and the filming had not officially started. If this conversation had gone out live, it would have caused a huge reaction. People might recognize who Chi Ye really was, or worse, accuse her of flaunting her wealth.
Still, with that much money, Chi Ye could likely handle any backlash. Chu Jin felt she was worrying too much.
Even though they weren’t live, Qiao Man was still standing nearby. She was no fool either.
Chu Jin gently reminded her, “With that many daily visitors, the park’s earnings must be in the tens of millions.”
If spending tens of millions could be described as “not much,” then that was far beyond what most people could understand.
Even though Chi Ye’s sunglasses hid her eyes, Chu Jin could sense a slight pause. Chi Ye seemed to understand her point. After a moment, she changed her story.
“Alright, I’ll be honest. The manager of the park agreed to let us film here as a way to promote the show. They closed the park for half a day so we could have it to ourselves.”
“It’s a marketing investment.”
She lied without the slightest hesitation. Her voice was as calm as before. Even if the story sounded far-fetched, her confidence made it sound convincing. Chu Jin felt a bit impressed.
Chi Ye sounded so natural that she was already planning to have He Xian contact the park later and issue a statement explaining the closure.
If you are going to perform, you might as well go all the way.
Qiao Man clearly did not believe it. The amusement park was already famous nationwide. There was no need for it to shut down just for a small show, especially not just to gain extra exposure.
Chi Ye noticed the doubt in her eyes. With graceful fingers, she slowly lifted her sunglasses to reveal her long, elegant eyes. She turned to the cameraman and asked, “The director told me this yesterday. Isn’t that right?”
The cameraman was caught off guard. He froze for a second but then quickly remembered the meeting they had before the show started. Director Qin Shiyun had warned all staff to cooperate fully with Chi Ye, no matter what she said. They were not to challenge her, correct her, or cause any trouble.
There were also rumors that Chi Ye was the main investor in the show. She had both money and power. If she was pleased with someone, that person might have a chance to move up in the industry.
This was the first time Chi Ye had spoken directly to the cameraman. He quickly recovered and nodded.
“Yes, that’s right. The director said that.”
Chi Ye gave a small nod, satisfied. She glanced at Chu Jin, raised an eyebrow, then slowly lowered her sunglasses again.
Chu Jin could tell Chi Ye was very pleased with her performance. She truly believed she had pulled it off flawlessly.
And maybe she had.
When you have enough money, anything is possible.
She had invested tens of millions into this variety show without blinking. Now she had casually booked an entire amusement park. She could turn black into white, and no one would question her. Instead, they would play along.
Chu Jin felt it was time to hold on tightly to this powerful connection. After all, Chi Ye was not only generous but also bold in her spending.
If she made Chi Ye happy enough, maybe one day she’d casually wave her hand and add another zero to Chu Jin’s monthly allowance.
While imagining such a wonderful future, Chu Jin followed the group into the amusement park. The cameraman was filming the surrounding environment, and Qiao Man, out of curiosity, went to look at the attractions. That left Chi Ye the perfect chance to quietly approach Chu Jin.
“How was my explanation?” Chi Ye asked casually. Her tone was calm, but the slight curve of her lips revealed just how pleased she was with herself.
This was a rare moment to give praise, and Chu Jin didn’t hold back. She responded quickly, full of admiration.
“Perfectly logical and thoroughly convincing. Most people could never come up with something that flawless.”
Chu Jin didn’t enjoy rides that were too intense, and the weather was a bit warm, so Chi Ye suggested they go on the water ride.
The staff had already prepared rain ponchos. Chi Ye picked up two white ones and walked straight over to Chu Jin.
“I’ll help you put this on.”
The remaining two purple ponchos were given to Qiao Man and the cameraman.
Everything had been arranged in advance. Chi Ye had given special instructions to He Xian to make sure of that.
The cameras were rolling, and seeing Chi Ye being so proactive, Chu Jin felt a little embarrassed. She tried to refuse politely.
“It’s fine. I can do it myself.”
But Chi Ye ignored her and unfolded the poncho, raising her hands to help Chu Jin into it. She looked down at her and said calmly, “Right now, this is my territory. Just be good and listen to me.”
Her voice was steady and low, and although her face remained expressionless, Chu Jin felt like there was a hidden meaning in her words.
Just as this thought crossed her mind, Chi Ye continued.
“When it’s your turn to take the lead, I’ll let you do whatever you want.”
That sentence confirmed everything Chu Jin had just suspected.
This was way too suggestive.
Chi Ye’s back was facing the camera, and her gaze toward Chu Jin was filled with warmth and desire, just like the look she had earlier that morning during their kiss in the bathroom.
Chu Jin found herself frozen in place, caught off guard by the intensity of it.
Chi Ye clearly noticed her reaction. While buttoning up the poncho, she leaned in slightly and asked in a soft voice, “What are you thinking about? You look completely distracted.”
What was she thinking?
Did Chi Ye really not know?
Chu Jin looked away from her and adjusted her collar, replying with just two words.
“You guess.”
“I guess?” Chi Ye repeated, her voice slightly husky and teasing. “Then I’ll have to think about it day and night.”
President Chi really knew how to choose her words.
Chu Jin didn’t dare continue the conversation, afraid this woman might say something even more outrageous right there in front of the camera.
Meanwhile, the livestream viewers were already spiraling into chaos, exactly as Chi Ye had likely hoped.
Comments poured in nonstop.
“Something’s off here. Very off.”
“I’m still wondering what happened earlier. They disappeared for a while and then the show cut to a commercial. What was that about?”
“This doesn’t feel simple. No other livestreams cut to commercials.”
“Is that a VIP-only segment or what?”
“Am I the only one who thinks they already… you know…”
“I bet fifty cents they’re already secretly together.”
“Please, I’m begging, can we skip the ad breaks after 9 p.m.? I’m dying over here.”
