After Marrying the Cold Omega in Secret - Chapter 32
Chi Ye’s cheeks were tinged with a soft blush. Her usually indifferent expression was now wrapped in a haze of tenderness and warmth, making Chu Jin momentarily stunned.
For a moment, she completely forgot that they were still outside. It was during the filming of a variety show, and just beyond the wall was a livestream watched by tens of thousands of people.
The kiss had become so deep and lingering that Chu Jin had already lost all sense of reason. Especially after hearing Chi Ye say she wanted it. As an alpha whose susceptibility period had not fully passed, Chu Jin had no power to resist such a request.
Chi Ye’s situation was even more difficult. Chu Jin knew exactly how this felt. When the heat flared during that time, there was no room for logic, only wave after wave of dizzying desire.
Their lips continued to rub against each other. Chu Jin wrapped her arms around Chi Ye’s waist, lifted her up, and placed her on the sink counter. She tilted her head upward to continue kissing her lips, letting her soft tongue explore deeply between their teeth.
Her hand slowly slid along Chi Ye’s back, stopping at the zipper of her dress.
The atmosphere was already soaked in intimacy. Moving to the next step felt natural. They both longed for each other.
But just as Chu Jin pulled down the zipper, a knock suddenly came at the bathroom door. Thankfully, the door had been locked earlier, so no one could come in.
Then Qiao Man’s voice came from outside.
“Sis, are you alright?”
The sudden interruption made Chu Jin freeze. She stopped what she was doing and pulled back from the kiss.
Clarity returned to her mind all at once. But when she looked at Chi Ye’s dazed expression, she saw that the interruption had barely affected her. Her eyes were still dreamy and filled with desire.
A sudden wave of fear hit Chu Jin.
How could she have taken advantage of Chi Ye’s condition like this? Even though it was just kissing, if Qiao Man hadn’t come at that moment, who knows what might have happened.
“We’re fine. I’ll be out soon”
Chu Jin had only just started to reply when Chi Ye’s lips pressed against hers again.
Chi Ye cupped Chu Jin’s face with both hands, holding her head still and kissed her without warning.
Fortunately, the bathroom was well soundproofed. Qiao Man didn’t notice anything unusual. Though she was still worried, she eventually turned and went back to her seat to continue decorating her mug.
She wanted to make a beautiful one, especially since it would be a gift for Chu Jin later.
Inside the bathroom, Chu Jin hurried to push Chi Ye away. She gripped her shoulders and tried to bring her back to reality.
“President Chi, where’s your suppressant?”
Chi Ye’s pupils were still unfocused. Her consciousness had not fully returned. She kept leaning forward, trying to kiss Chu Jin again.
Thankfully, Chu Jin had her phone with her. While holding Chi Ye steady, she quickly messaged the director to report what was happening.
The production team had prepared for this kind of emergency. Before arriving, all guests had filled out forms estimating the dates of their special periods. Suppressants were always on standby, especially for someone like Chi Ye, who required careful attention.
This time, Chi Ye’s heat came on suddenly and more intensely than last month. It had started two days early. Their pheromones were likely highly compatible. When she got close to Chu Jin, even minor contact would stir up strong reactions.
In serious cases, it could trigger an early onset—just like now.
While waiting, Chi Ye briefly regained some control. She forced herself to the other corner of the bathroom, trying to put some space between them and keep her distance from Chu Jin.
Fortunately, the director’s team responded quickly. In about ten minutes, someone knocked on the door. Chu Jin had just finished wiping the lipstick from the corner of her mouth.
She took a moment to compose herself before opening the door and saw He Xian standing outside.
“Good afternoon, Madam. I’m here to deliver the suppressant for President Chi.” He Xian spoke in her usual calm tone, but the sweat on her forehead showed how quickly she had rushed over.
Chu Jin noticed the paper bag in her hand. It was the same kind as the one she had been given before.
She stepped aside quickly. “Thank you. Come in.”
He Xian stepped inside without hesitation. But instead of heading straight toward Chi Ye, she glanced back at Chu Jin with a hesitant expression.
Just as Chu Jin was about to close the door, she noticed He Xian’s look and paused.
“What is it?” she asked.
He Xian looked conflicted but finally spoke, though reluctantly.
“Madam, maybe you should wait outside for now.”
Normally, two alphas would not react strongly to each other’s pheromones. But in this case, things were different. They both clearly had a physical response to each other.
And if their pheromones were also reacting, it could make things worse.
To be safe, it was best for Chu Jin to leave the room.
“Alright,” Chu Jin replied with a nod, stepping out of the bathroom.
By then, the camera crew had paused filming. The livestream had switched to a commercial break.
When Qiao Man saw Chu Jin return alone, she stood up quickly and asked with concern, “What happened? Why did you take so long?”
Judging by her expression, she probably had no idea what had occurred with Chi Ye. Chu Jin kept her answer vague.
“My stomach was feeling a little uncomfortable.”
Qiao Man looked toward the bathroom and was about to ask another question, but Chu Jin quickly added, “Chi Ye’s stomach too.”
Qiao Man seemed unsure but nodded anyway and led Chu Jin over to look at the mug she had made. The mug was already shaped and smooth. A few flowers decorated its surface, and she had even made a matching spoon. It looked delicate and lovely.
“It’s beautiful,” Chu Jin said with a smile, but her thoughts were still with Chi Ye.
She wondered if the suppressant had taken effect. Since it was brought by He Xian, it was likely a strong one. The effects should kick in within a few minutes.
“It’s almost ready for coloring,” Qiao Man said with a satisfied smile, continuing her explanation. Then she looked at Chu Jin with warm eyes. “What colors do you like?”
There was no response.
Chu Jin had been staring blankly. Only when she noticed Qiao Man’s gaze did she snap out of her thoughts.
She forced a smile. “Any color is fine.”
“This one is for you,” Qiao Man said softly. Her expression darkened a little as she looked down, her voice quiet. “You don’t like it, do you? If you don’t, that’s okay.”
Chu Jin realized she had been a bit careless. Out of basic politeness, she quickly smiled again.
“Of course I like it. It’s beautiful. How could I not like it?”
Just as she finished speaking, a cool voice came from behind.
“What do you like?”
The moment she heard the voice, Chu Jin’s body stiffened. She turned instinctively to look.
Chi Ye stood there, back to her usual calm appearance. Her clothes were neat, her hair was smoothed down without a strand out of place. It was as if none of the chaos from earlier had ever happened.
She lowered her gaze toward Chu Jin. Her expression was neutral, but in her eyes, a flicker of something warm and intense passed by.
Chu Jin caught that brief heat in an instant.
Their eyes met, and they both recalled the passionate kiss in the bathroom. The soft warmth of that moment still lingered faintly on her lips.
Almost at the same time, they looked away.
Filming had resumed. The commercial break had ended, and the livestream was back on.
Chu Jin glanced at the mug on the table, then answered Chi Ye’s question.
“This mug. Don’t you think it looks beautiful?”
“I think it’s just average.”
Chi Ye didn’t even look at it before sitting back down and starting her pottery wheel again. After what had happened earlier, Chu Jin avoided working beside her. She was afraid that getting too close again might stir up the desire they had just barely managed to calm.
Because of an injury to her left index finger, Chi Ye was unable to shape a perfect cylinder. In the end, her cup came out with an irregular shape, but it unexpectedly had a kind of artistic flair.
Once the cups were shaped, it was time to paint them.
Qiao Man had wanted to invite Chu Jin to paint with her, but Chi Ye spoke first.
“My hand hurts. Help me paint it,” Chi Ye said with a slight frown, as if the pain was really bothering her.
But Chu Jin knew better. Earlier, when Chi Ye was teasing her, there hadn’t been any sign of discomfort. This was clearly just an act.
And wasn’t it her left hand that was injured?
Chi Ye wasn’t even left-handed.
Qiao Man’s expression changed. She no longer hid her displeasure and asked directly, “It’s your left hand. That doesn’t stop you from painting, does it?”
Her tone had lost its usual brightness. A layer of gloom appeared in her expression. From the very beginning of this outing, Chi Ye had taken the lead again and again. Whether it was choosing seats in the car or getting close to Chu Jin during the pottery session, every chance seemed to be taken from her.
Seeing Qiao Man’s tone grow sharp, Chi Ye ignored her. Instead, she softened her expression and looked at Chu Jin with gentle eyes.
“Help me.”
While her back was turned to the camera, she moved her lips slightly without making a sound.
But Chu Jin could easily read what she said.
Wife.
Those two silent words tugged hard at Chu Jin’s heart.
She swallowed before she could stop herself.
Facing this side of Chi Ye, she found herself unable to say no.
Chu Jin glanced at Qiao Man and spoke gently, “She really isn’t able to do it right now. I’ll help her.”
Since Chu Jin had spoken, Qiao Man couldn’t say anything more. She had to let it go.
Chu Jin began mixing the paint, then used a brush to gently add color to the cup with Chi Ye. The two of them worked smoothly together. After they finished, Chi Ye wrote two capital C’s on the bottom of the cup to represent their last names.
Considering her identity as the CEO of a public company, seeing her do something so childlike was unexpectedly endearing. Chu Jin looked at the initials and smiled.
“You should have drawn the Chanel logo. It’s also a double C.”
Chi Ye took her words seriously and nodded in thought.
After they finished painting and placed the cups into trays to be fired in the kiln, they left and planned to return the next day to pick them up.
It was almost lunchtime, and they needed to eat. This meal had been arranged by Qiao Man. The group returned to their vehicles and headed to the restaurant.
Chu Jin once again rode in the same car as Chi Ye.
The director’s team let them know they could take a short break. The livestream had cut to a commercial, and the cameras were no longer filming.
Without the camera, Chu Jin felt more relaxed. She turned her head slightly to look at Chi Ye.
“Are you feeling any better?”
“Not really,” Chi Ye replied in a calm voice.
Chu Jin frowned. “The suppressant isn’t working?”
That didn’t seem right. When she had taken it herself a few days ago, it had worked quickly and had a strong effect.
“Maybe my body is different,” Chi Ye said, her expression steady. “The suppressant doesn’t really work on me.”
Was her pheromone level that strong? Strong enough that even the suppressant couldn’t control it?
Chu Jin wasn’t sure what to believe. But Chi Ye didn’t look like she was joking. Maybe it really was true. After all, she was an alpha too, yet still reacted strongly to another alpha like Chi Ye. That kind of compatibility was rare.
“Can you still take part in the show?” Chu Jin asked.
“Of course.” Chi Ye answered without hesitation. She glanced at Chu Jin and paused. “But I’ll need your help.”
A sense of unease crept into Chu Jin’s chest.
Her voice became cautious. “Help with what?”
“When it happens,” Chi Ye replied slowly. Her eyes remained cold and calm.
“Let me kiss you.”
