After Marrying the Cold Omega in Secret - Chapter 34
After the rafting ride, they tried a few other attractions. Just as the last rays of sunlight spread across the horizon, they boarded the final ride of the day, the Sunset Coaster.
Qiao Man didn’t want to ride anymore and said she needed a break. The production team had been filming all afternoon, so they switched the livestream to a commercial. As one of the main cast members, Chu Jin couldn’t turn down Chi Ye’s invitation. She politely agreed to go with her.
Though the coaster was similar to a traditional roller coaster, this one moved much slower. Because the track was built high, riders could enjoy a full panoramic view of Linhe when they reached the top.
Chu Jin and Chi Ye sat side by side. As soon as they sat down, Chi Ye leaned in and took the safety belt from the side of the seat, fastening it around Chu Jin for her.
Her movements were gentle, but she accidentally brushed against Chu Jin’s side. A tingling sensation spread from her waist like an electric current. Images from that morning flashed through her mind.
Chu Jin swallowed hard without realizing it.
She knew the ride was slow, but she still felt a little nervous about the height. Chi Ye seemed to notice the anxiety in her eyes and silently reached out, taking her hand.
Her palm was slightly cool, but it offered a comforting sense of security.
In that moment, Chu Jin stopped worrying about the cameras. Instead, she gently held Chi Ye’s hand in return. Their fingers laced tightly together, just like their hearts, quietly syncing with each other.
“When we get to the top, the view will be beautiful,” Chi Ye said as she pointed toward the highest part of the track.
“Alright,” Chu Jin answered. She followed the direction of Chi Ye’s finger, then glanced at her again and asked, “Have you been here before?”
“No,” Chi Ye said, her eyes meeting Chu Jin’s with a soft warmth. “This is my first time.”
Although she was clearly talking about the ride, her tone hinted at something deeper. She seemed to enjoy the way Chu Jin’s gaze shifted, as if avoiding her meaning, and asked again, “What about you? Is this your first time too?”
Chu Jin looked at her for a moment and nodded. “Yes.”
Chi Ye’s smile deepened.
The conversation ended as the ride began to move slowly.
The sky had darkened. Around them, tiny lights flickered across the park like stars. The golden sunset spread over everything, and soft music played in the background. The moment felt calm and relaxing, enough to make Chu Jin forget her fear of heights.
The coaster slowly climbed to the top. The sunset spread across the sky like a painted canvas. The deep blue of the sky melted into golden light. The glow stretched across the horizon like a final burst of flame, outlining the distant mountains and rooftops. It was a view too beautiful for words.
“It’s so beautiful,” Chu Jin said quietly, her voice filled with awe. Her grip on Chi Ye’s hand tightened slightly.
Chi Ye turned to look at her. The sunset spilled over Chu Jin’s face like soft silk. Her eyes reflected the light, and her slight smile made her glow. Chi Ye could not look away. She felt like she had fallen into something sweet and warm.
Instead of admiring the view, Chi Ye had been looking at her the entire time. Yet she still replied, “It really is beautiful.”
As the ride came to a slow stop, Chu Jin turned toward her, her voice soft and sincere.
“President Chi, thank you for today.”
Chi Ye glanced at her and then lowered her head to unfasten the safety belt.
“If you really want to thank me, then like I said earlier,” she began, but paused.
Chu Jin already understood what she was hinting at. Under the last glow of sunlight, her cheeks turned slightly pink.
Chi Ye blinked and leaned in just enough for her voice to brush past Chu Jin’s ear. It was low and soft.
“Wife, do you remember what it was?”
Every time she used that voice, it sounded like a whisper of temptation, threading through Chu Jin’s thoughts and pulling her in. It always left her breathless, confused, and flushed with heat.
Chi Ye’s gaze was deep and intense. Her eyes briefly dropped to Chu Jin’s lips. Neither of them made a move, but the unspoken tension between them grew stronger.
The small space between their seats only made the atmosphere more charged. The breeze outside couldn’t cool the heat that lingered between them. If anything, it fanned the flame.
Chu Jin was about to reach out to touch Chi Ye’s cheek when the sound of approaching footsteps came from behind them. Qiao Man and the cameraman had caught up.
Chu Jin quickly lowered her hand. She stepped off the ride together with Chi Ye.
Afterward, they went to a Western restaurant that Chi Ye had reserved. They ate a simple meal, then rode in the production team’s car back to the villa.
They were the last group to return.
As soon as Chu Jin stepped inside, Xin Ning pulled her aside into the courtyard, away from the cameras.
“How was it? Tell me everything,” she said eagerly, eyes shining with excitement. “Was it a love triangle mess?”
Chu Jin thought for a moment. In the beginning, it had been tense. Trying to balance herself between the other two felt awkward. But later on, it had been mostly her and Chi Ye. Qiao Man had quietly faded to the background.
“It felt a little off at first,” Chu Jin replied.
Xin Ning smiled with a knowing look.
“I checked the couple hashtag online. You two were very different today,” she said, eyes twinkling with curiosity.
There was a teasing tone in her voice.
Chu Jin felt slightly flustered. Afraid of being caught off guard, she quickly changed the subject.
“How about you and Chen Mo?”
“We’re doing great. We held hands, hugged,” Xin Ning said with a sweet smile. “We even shared an ice cream.”
“Nice move, but I’m not letting you off the hook.” Xin Ning narrowed her eyes. Her voice dropped slightly. “Tell me the truth. What happened during that ad break this morning?”
“Honestly… nothing much.”
Xin Ning clearly didn’t believe her, but she didn’t press. She figured it was something similar to her own situation. They probably took the chance to sneak a hug or something like that.
“You believe me now, don’t you? Chi Ye likes you,” Xin Ning said.
But Chu Jin looked hesitant.
“You still don’t believe it?” Xin Ning blinked. “She literally asked you out. What more do you need?”
“It just feels strange,” Chu Jin said softly, resting her chin on her hand.
“What feels strange?”
“Her behavior.”
“There’s nothing strange about it.” Xin Ning looked at her seriously. “At first, Chi Ye didn’t have any competition, so she didn’t rush. But once Qiao Man showed up and started coming on strong, Chi Ye got nervous. She’s afraid someone else might win you over.”
“That’s why you think she’s acting differently now. It’s jealousy and a sense of urgency.”
Her words hit the mark. Chu Jin had thought about it before but hadn’t dared believe it. She convinced herself it wasn’t possible.
But sometimes an outsider sees things more clearly. Xin Ning’s explanation made sense. At the very least, Chi Ye wasn’t acting without purpose. Whether it was real or not, she was sending a message to everyone around her.
Still, Chu Jin couldn’t forget that this was Chi Ye’s susceptibility period. It was normal for alphas to lose control, to feel possessive, and to act on physical attraction. That didn’t necessarily mean she had true feelings.
They had signed a contract. If Chi Ye felt possessive of her, that was understandable. It didn’t mean it was love.
But Chu Jin didn’t care anymore.
Her goal was simple. Stick to the agreement, take care of Chi Ye’s needs, get her monthly allowance, and when Chi Ye needed it, let her steal a few kisses.
Besides, Chi Ye’s lips were soft and sweet. She didn’t mind at all.
Since they returned late, Chu Jin didn’t get to chat much longer with Xin Ning before heading to her room to wash up and rest.
When she returned to the bedroom, Chi Ye had already finished showering. She was dressed in a moon-white silk nightgown with French lace trim. Over it, she wore a loose robe with long sleeves. The slip underneath hugged her curves gently and made her look elegant and cool.
Unlike her usual sleepwear, this dress was short. It ended just a few centimeters below her thighs.
Her long legs were bare and smooth. Since she had just showered, droplets of water still clung to her skin, trailing slowly downward and leaving faint, shimmering paths.
Chu Jin quickly looked away and walked into the bathroom. She splashed cold water on her face.
After washing up and changing, she stepped out again.
When Chu Jin came out of the bathroom, it was already close to ten o’clock. Chi Ye was already in bed.
She had taken off her outer robe, and her long hair was draped over her left shoulder. The blanket was pulled up just past her waist, perfectly revealing the smooth curve of her right shoulder and neck, along with a small beauty mark resting quietly on her collarbone.
Behind her was a soft pillow, propped up against the headboard as she leaned back, reading a book with her eyes lowered.
When she saw Chu Jin come out, she quietly closed the book. Just as Chu Jin reached the edge of the bed, Chi Ye looked up and said,
“Turn off the light and come sleep with me.”
Her voice was slightly husky, unclear if from fatigue or the effects of pheromone imbalance. Her eyes were once again veiled with that familiar, soft haze.
Faced with this request, Chu Jin didn’t plan to refuse. In fact, she never intended to.
She turned off the light, then carefully felt her way in the dark, lifting the blanket and slipping into the space beside Chi Ye.
A faint scent immediately surrounded her. It was clean, slightly damp, and had a trace of warmth beneath the coolness. Just as she lay down, Chi Ye shifted her body closer, until their arms were lightly touching.
“Why are you so cold?” Chu Jin asked softly.
Even during her susceptible phase, Chi Ye’s skin remained cool to the touch.
“Not everywhere is cold…” Chi Ye replied in a whisper. Her voice trembled faintly.
She slowly turned toward Chu Jin, lifting herself slightly with one hand as she reached over in the dark. Her fingers brushed along Chu Jin’s waist and lower belly before guiding one of her hands toward the back of her neck.
“Feel this. It’s burning.”
Chu Jin stiffened. Her fingertips landed against the base of Chi Ye’s neck, directly on her gland. Though covered by a suppressant patch, the heat beneath it radiated outward, undeniable and intense.
“Can you feel it?” Chi Ye asked. Her voice was low, her breath warm against Chu Jin’s chest as she leaned forward and rested her weight gently against her.
The heat of her breath landed just above Chu Jin’s heart, and she felt her entire body grow warmer in response.
Chu Jin could only manage a quiet hum in reply. Her voice had gone raspy, caught in her throat.
She tried to stay calm, to keep control, but every touch from Chi Ye stripped away another layer of resistance. No matter how much she tried to hold back, she was already falling deeper.
Chi Ye slowly climbed on top of her, positioning her legs on either side of Chu Jin’s waist. Leaning down, she brought her lips close to Chu Jin’s ear and whispered with warm breath.
“Wife, help me.”
Chu Jin’s heart pounded. Her hands moved instinctively to Chi Ye’s sides, fingers brushing against soft, bare skin. The initial coolness was now warming under her touch.
Her hands slid from Chi Ye’s thighs to her waist, then up along her back in a slow, lingering caress. Her palms moved gently, kneading ever so slightly, and Chi Ye’s body melted against her, breath growing faster.
Chi Ye was clearly overwhelmed. She lay still against Chu Jin’s chest for a long moment before finally lifting her head, her gaze hazy as it met Chu Jin’s.
Her voice was soft and sweet, full of emotion.
“You’re really good with your hands…”
Then she shifted slightly and whispered with heat rising in her eyes.
“I’m already wet.”
