- Chapter 102 - The Grand Wedding Bells Finally Ring (Main Story Concluded)
With the stone statue as the physical body for the remnant soul, Qiu Fuxue had Li Yun and Jiufang Cangze act as his protectors while he expended a large amount of his spiritual energy to help Taichu’s soul merge with the statue.
After a grueling two hours, the barrier was finally removed. The semi-transparent white lotus finally dissipated, and Jiufang Cangze rushed to Qiu Fuxue’s side immediately.
Exhausted, Qiu Fuxue collapsed into his arms. His eyes were tightly closed, and his forehead was covered in a film of sweat.
Jiufang Cangze was terrified. He called out anxiously, “A-Xue… A-Xue!”
Li Yun’s cultivation was not as high as Jiufang Cangze’s. Acting as a protector had also taken a toll on him, and he sat in place to rest for a while before walking over.
He carefully helped the now-corporeal Taichu up. The god’s limbs were soft and weak; he seemed unaccustomed to his new body.
“Ow,” he groaned, letting Li Yun help him lean against the ground to rest. He covered his ears and said, “Cangze, you’re hurting my ears with all that yelling.”
Qiu Fuxue remained unconscious. Jiufang Cangze was at a loss, asking, “What’s wrong with A-Xue?”
“He just used up some energy and fainted. Look, he also thinks you’re too loud.”
Qiu Fuxue, with his eyes closed, frowned, turned over in the embrace, and then became still.
Jiufang Cangze finally breathed a sigh of relief. He found a comfortable position for the other man to sleep soundly. He belatedly realized he had been overly anxious; every little thing concerning A-Xue was constantly pulling at his heartstrings.
Qiu Fuxue slept for two days. The first thing he did when he woke up was grab Jiufang Cangze’s sleeve and demand to see the Primordial God.
Jiufang Cangze’s passionate heart was immediately frozen into an ice shard.
A-Xue’s favorite person isn’t me anymore.
Taichu adapted to his new body and was lively the next day. He was completely without pretense and met every disciple in the Qianshan Sect, especially Black Ball, who had been fed into a pig.
He couldn’t hide his fondness for Black Ball and declared that he would use it as his mount instead of his immortal deer.
Jiufang Cangze’s face darkened. He grabbed the troublemaking Taichu and dragged him back inside.
Qiu Fuxue was too weak to get up, but he had an opinion on Jiufang Cangze’s actions. “Cangze, show the God some respect.”
“Exactly!” Taichu was held by the nape of his neck and protested weakly. “Listen to Fuxue. Stop being so rough!”
“Then you should behave!” Jiufang Cangze said righteously. “A-Xue, go outside and see what a mess he’s made of the Qianshan Sect! He’s corrupted the disciples and made them lazy instead of cultivating!”
“Uh… the God is old; it’s normal for him to be playful…”
Qiu Fuxue rubbed his temples with both hands. His head was buzzing. It seemed that after leaving the Immortal Realm, Taichu had indeed become more uninhibited.
“Awoo—!”
Black Ball rushed in with teary eyes, whining and scratching at Qiu Fuxue’s blanket.
“Black Ball, why are you crying?”
It was the first time he had ever seen Black Ball cry.
Jiufang Cangze folded his arms and gave Taichu a side glance. “This guy bullied him until he cried! He wanted Black Ball to have a high-jump competition with the immortal deer. How could Black Ball’s weight let it jump? He was laughed at relentlessly.”
Black Ball hated it when others made fun of his weight, so it was no wonder he cried from anger.
Taichu knew he was in the wrong and shrunk his neck. “He’s just too cute…”
Qiu Fuxue sighed, his head buzzing. He could only side with the dog and pat its head. “Black Ball, the God didn’t mean to. Don’t be mad.”
After a few days of constant commotion, Jiufang Cangze still had something on his mind. When Qiu Fuxue didn’t bring it up, he nudged the man after an intimate night. “A-Xue, did you forget something?”
Qiu Fuxue feigned ignorance, smiling. “What?”
Jiufang Cangze kissed his tempting, thin lips a few times, his voice muffled. “…Marriage.”
He had clearly agreed to bring Taichu back so they could get married.
Qiu Fuxue licked his lips. He smiled silently, looking at him, but in return, the other man bit his collarbone.
“Hiss—! You’re like a dog.”
Jiufang Cangze knew he hadn’t forgotten. He reached in with his calloused hand, his fingers teasing him threateningly. “—A-Xue.”
Qiu Fuxue couldn’t take it anymore. He quickly begged for mercy, his arms wrapping around the other’s neck placatingly. He kissed his lips again. “I knew you were impatient. I had people search for a batch of good material. The wedding robes should be ready by tomorrow. When they arrive, you’ll put them on for me to see.”
Jiufang Cangze was stunned. His expression changed slightly.
“What’s wrong?” Qiu Fuxue asked worriedly.
The other man couldn’t help but laugh, his tone a little helpless. “A-Xue, I was going to give you a surprise…”
The more Qiu Fuxue listened, the more something felt off. He suddenly had a bad feeling.
Jiufang Cangze continued, “I had the demon realm make two wedding robes as well.”
Which one to wear now became an issue.
But knowing that the other man had also been thinking of him the entire time was enough.
Still not satisfied, Jiufang Cangze pressed Qiu Fuxue down and tormented him over and over again. Qiu Fuxue was lost in the passion. Dazed, he agreed to a spiritual communion.
Letting someone enter your spiritual consciousness is a very dangerous thing, but when that person is your beloved, it brings a different kind of feeling.
It was satisfying, but also very exhausting.
After that night, Qiu Fuxue made a rule for Jiufang Cangze: he could not try to merge their spiritual consciousnesses again until after the wedding.
Jiufang Cangze waited eagerly, day and night, for their wedding day to finally arrive.
Qiu Fuxue appeared before him in a fiery red wedding robe. It made his usually cold face look surprisingly charming and alluring.
They bowed to heaven and earth. For the first time, Jiufang Cangze willingly knelt and bowed before Taichu.
“Get up. You are all my children,” Taichu said with a smile. He came to the two of them and gently placed his hand on their clasped hands. His voice was soft, but it carried an undeniable authority. “In the name of the Heavenly God Clan, I, Taichu, grant this couple the highest blessing.”
“God…” Qiu Fuxue’s eyes reddened. He gave Taichu a hug.
Taichu stroked his snow-white hair helplessly. “Good child, the ceremony isn’t over yet. You can hug me again later.”
After they bowed to each other and the ceremony was complete, Jiufang Cangze, as he and Qiu Fuxue had planned, opened a small passage between the Immortal and Demon realms to celebrate their happy day. The passage would remain open for three days.
The red candles burned brightly. After dealing with some troublesome matters, Jiufang Cangze returned to the bedchamber, smelling of wine.
Qiu Fuxue had also drunk a good deal of wine and was resting by the bed.
“A-Xue,” Jiufang Cangze walked over. His movements were not rough. He just tucked the other’s snow-white hair behind his ear, mesmerized and admiring his face.
Qiu Fuxue looked back at him, feeling a sense of unreality.
How did they get to this point? Their wedding night. They used to be mortal enemies.
He sighed, the light scent of wine wafting in the air.
None of that mattered anymore. What mattered was that Jiufang Cangze was finally his.
“…Husband.”
