- After His Demise, the Demon Lord's Doted Canary Finally Sees the Light
- Chapter 101 - Evil Thoughts Converge to Form a Demon
Li Yun’s illusion skills had become more refined. He found the entrance to the Immortal Realm without any effort.
But after opening the entrance, he kept his hands in his sleeves, showing no intention of going in.
Qiu Fuxue asked, “A-Yun, aren’t you coming with us?”
Li Yun smiled and shrugged. “You two go on. I’ll just stay out of the way.”
He was able to pick up and put down his feelings. The moment he greeted his Senior Brother out of seclusion, he had truly let go.
The power fluctuations in the Immortal Realm were unstable. Over the past century, Qiu Fuxue had never entered, afraid of disturbing the Primordial God.
They crossed the lotus pond and found the small courtyard. The Primordial God was lying on a lounge chair, sunbathing, gently fanning himself with a folding fan.
The moment Jiufang Cangze saw him, he felt uncomfortable all over. If it weren’t for Qiu Fuxue, he would never have been able to be in the same place as the Primordial God in peace.
“Fuxue pays his respects to the God.”
Qiu Fuxue stepped forward and bowed. It was then that the Primordial God realized someone had entered the Immortal Realm.
“Oh… Fuxue is back? Hmm, you’ve become prettier.” His expression was still gentle. He got up from the lounge chair, and the sleeves of his robe looked slightly transparent as he moved.
It wasn’t just his sleeves. The Primordial God himself had become more transparent. This remnant of his soul had held up the illusion for so long, but his time was almost up.
Luckily, we were on time, Qiu Fuxue secretly thought. “God, the Nine Fiends have been destroyed. We’ve found a statue that has been devoutly worshiped for you. We’ve come to take you back.”
The Primordial God was more interested in the first half of his sentence. He went up and looked at Jiufang Cangze. “Oh? The Nine Fiends have all been wiped out?”
He noticed that the red beads on Qiu Fuxue’s wrist were gone. Everything had gone as he expected. The Primordial God closed his fan and patted Jiufang Cangze’s chest, a look of pride on his face. “How about it, Cangze? Are you happy with the mural I showed you?”
The mural that the Primordial God painted had once prophesied that the Moon Shadow Wall would sacrifice itself for the white lotus.
Jiufang Cangze gritted his back teeth. “What do you think…”
Just then, his sleeve was tugged by the person next to him. Qiu Fuxue gave him a threatening look.
He immediately changed his attitude, forcing a smile. “Happy! Very happy!”
The Primordial God smiled with satisfaction, his gentle eyes looking at him as if he were his wayward child who had finally come to his senses. “Well, well… it seems Fuxue has taught you very well!”
Jiufang Cangze’s expression was like a mask. He listened to whatever the other man said, nodded, and smiled in agreement.
Qiu Fuxue looked a little helpless. “God, Cangze’s nature has changed a lot. The statue is outside. We have already set up a formation. You can leave whenever you are ready.”
“No rush.” The Primordial God curled his lips. He pulled Qiu Fuxue into the courtyard and handed him a plate of pastries. “Have a taste. I just made them.”
Seeing that he had no intention of leaving, Jiufang Cangze even wondered if this old man had become senile and didn’t realize he was about to dissipate.
The Primordial God filled the space in front of Qiu Fuxue with food and desserts. He then called over an immortal deer to keep him company. Then he said earnestly, “I still have some things to tell Cangze. This kid doesn’t like to listen to me, and if we were outside, I wouldn’t be able to beat him.”
Qiu Fuxue’s hand, holding a teacup, paused. “God, don’t worry, he wouldn’t dare.”
The Primordial God just smiled and waved to Jiufang Cangze. “Cangze, do you know what you are now?”
The other man raised his arrogant head. “This Lord is A-Xue’s husband!”
Qiu Fuxue’s hand, holding the teacup, trembled again, spilling half of the tea on his sleeve.
The Primordial God picked up his fan and tapped him on the head. “Who asked you that! You’re still so unserious!”
Jiufang Cangze covered his head. If A-Xue hadn’t been watching, he would have started a fight with the Primordial God by now.
“After going through life and death so many times, do you not feel anything different about yourself?”
Qiu Fuxue didn’t interrupt. He just perked up his ears and listened. He was also very suspicious about how Jiufang Cangze had been resurrected multiple times, but even the demon himself couldn’t explain it.
If he was just the Moon Shadow Wall, it had been destroyed along with the Nine Fiends and left no trace.
Jiufang Cangze made a wisp of hellfire burn at his fingertip, but it was quickly extinguished by the spiritual energy of the Immortal Realm. “I feel something, but I still can’t make sense of it.”
The Primordial God propped his chin up. “There’s no need to be confused. You are ‘the Demon’ itself. Both the demon realm and the demon race were born from the influence of your aura.”
Jiufang Cangze’s eyes flickered. Now he knew why he was immortal.
Good and evil oppose each other. As long as there are living things in this world, “the Demon” will never disappear.
After a moment of shock, Qiu Fuxue’s gaze toward Jiufang Cangze also changed.
The Primordial God saw through his thoughts. “Fuxue, don’t get any dangerous ideas. Although he is immortal, that doesn’t mean he can’t feel pain.”
“…Oh.” Qiu Fuxue became docile.
“Nine Fiends was just a later name. In fact, before I painted the Moon Shadow Wall, there were only eight Fiends in the world.”
“So the ninth Fiend was ‘the Demon’ who was born from the violence of the other evil spirits, and he became the Moon Shadow Wall itself,” Qiu Fuxue’s voice was very soft, but Jiufang Cangze heard every syllable. After all, no one is indifferent to what the person they love thinks of them.
The Primordial God’s gaze went back and forth between the two of them. Qiu Fuxue did not show any resentment toward Jiufang Cangze for being the embodiment of evil.
He summoned his immortal deer and whispered something to it. A flash of cunning quickly crossed his eyes.
Jiufang Cangze noticed it and subconsciously took a half-step back. That old man has no good intentions.
“Cangze,” the Primordial God called out with a smile. “I’ve left one last test for you. Go and try it quickly, and then we’ll pack up and leave.”
Jiufang Cangze’s crimson eyes narrowed. “This Lord doesn’t want to go.”
“Cangze.” Qiu Fuxue looked at him calmly. After only one second, Jiufang Cangze gave in.
After he was sent into the trial illusion, the Primordial God joyfully started packing the things he could take, including the immortal deer that had accompanied him for thousands of years.
Qiu Fuxue helped him pack. Less than half an hour later, Jiufang Cangze burst out of the illusion.
And he came out with his spear.
His face was filled with rage. He swept his spear, Hengjiang, and pierced the entrance to the illusion he had just exited. “Tai! Chu! Get out here!”
The Primordial God quickly hid behind Qiu Fuxue, laughing. “What’s wrong? Why are you so angry? Don’t you like the surprise I prepared for you?”
“Sur… you…!”
Qiu Fuxue automatically ignored the foul language. He knew Jiufang Cangze’s temper. It had already been smoothed out, and for him to be this angry, the Primordial God must have done something unbelievable.
And his gut told him it had something to do with him.
He slightly spread his arm to block the Primordial God. “Cangze, what did you see inside?”
Jiufang Cangze opened his mouth several times, but he still couldn’t say it. He pointed at the Primordial God in frustration and threatened, “Tai Chu, I’m going to remember this!”
