- Chapter 22 - The Professionalism of a Qualified Lover
Ultimately, he pressed his lips together and remained nestled quietly in the man’s embrace to listen to his instructions. After all, this was part of the professional poise required of a qualified lover.
Xie Jun stood at the doorway, his mouth twitching slightly. The boy was a top student, for heaven’s sake; was it really necessary to teach him hand-in-hand?
Fine, a straight man like him simply did not understand this kind of flirtatious atmosphere.
However, as He Yunqi’s most capable assistant, he had to remain unfazed. He needed to try his best to gradually adapt to this style of interaction, even though it was still quite a shock to his system.
He Yunqi reached out and held his hand in front of Gu He. “Disinfect.”
Only then did Gu He realize that He Yunqi was not wearing his gloves.
Those hands were larger than his and warm, with prominent joints and well-defined structure. The green veins beneath the skin throbbed with strength, consistent with his overall aura of powerful pheromones. They exuded an expensive nobility mixed with a sense of casual attraction.
In contrast, Gu He’s hands were delicate and slender. Each finger was perfectly proportioned and long, with pale knuckles that were slightly flushed. His fingertips were cool, and his joints and veins were visible in a way that looked quite artistic. Perhaps due to years of manual labor, there was a thin layer of callouses on his palms. Yet, when he moved them, they looked like a piece of pure, flawless art.
He picked up the alcohol spray and applied it evenly, then took a handkerchief to wipe each of He Yunqi’s fingers clean, one by one. Because he was operating with only one hand, his speed was noticeably slow. His long eyelashes fluttered downward, and his breathing was shallow.
He Yunqi’s Adam’s apple rolled slightly; the scene before him was far too tempting.
He Yunqi spent quite a while enjoying the sight of this obedient appearance, and the anger in his heart had long since mostly dissipated.
“Do you have classes tonight?”
Gu He looked up in surprise at the sound of his voice. Was this man willing to let him go?
Seeing his dazed expression, He Yunqi found him adorable. In a great mood, he kissed the tip of the boy’s nose and said meaningfully, “You do not have to go back if you do not want to.”
“I do,” Gu He answered quickly, fearing He Yunqi would change his mind.
“Are you hungry?” He had rushed straight from the airport to the scene of Gu He’s accident, and a meeting was waiting for him in an hour. If the little fox did not want to go back to class, that would be fine too.
Gu He assumed the man had gone back on his word, and his interest instantly flattened.
“Hmm?” The deep voice vibrated near his ear, itchy and alluring.
Without waiting for a reply, He Yunqi picked the boy up and walked toward the dining table.
He showed no intention of putting him down. Auntie Qiu simply smiled as she finished serving the dishes and then left.
Gu He’s ears turned red as he struggled to get down. He was not thick-skinned enough for this. “I can eat by myself.”
“Do not move.” Immediately after, his bottom received a slap.
He bit his lower lip in extreme embarrassment. This man was truly something!
“Open your mouth.”
Gu He’s injury was to his left hand, which did not interfere with eating at all. Not wanting to court trouble, he obediently opened his mouth.
He Yunqi fed him a piece of sweet and sour pork. Watching that small mouth chew was like watching a little hamster eating; it put the man in an excellent mood to continue feeding him.
Perhaps because he had been hungry for too long, the sweet and sour flavors stimulated his taste buds, suddenly sparking his appetite.
“Have some soup.”
Gu He frowned, his small mouth clamped shut. He did not want to drink it because of a rather unpleasant smell.
“Be good. Try it first?” He Yunqi coaxed the person in his arms, feeling cheerful.
Gu He stuck out his tongue to tentatively lick the flavor. This soup was a medicinal broth, and the smell of Chinese herbs was not to his liking, so he naturally had no interest. After tasting it with the tip of his tongue, he confirmed he did not like it.
Watching that small red tip of a tongue, He Yunqi’s eyes darkened. “It does not taste good?”
Gu He shook his head.
He Yunqi watched his well-intentioned compliance. If one did not look closely, it was impossible to tell he was deliberately trying to please. He was neither lowly nor cheap, yet he was not being honest at all.
“Let me taste it.” He then tilted Gu He’s chin up for an intense kiss. His tongue conquered the boy’s mouth, kissing him until he was lightheaded and panting against the man’s chest.
With a satisfied and languid voice, He Yunqi commented, “Yes, it really does not taste good.”
Gu He had never seen such a brazen person.
This man truly took every opportunity to be a rogue, yet Gu He could not escape him. That last bit of resistant shame vanished completely in front of He Yunqi.
“Auntie Qiu, bring it out.”
“Certainly, sir.”
Gu He’s body stiffened. There was someone else in the house? He was not thick-skinned enough for this and struggled to get down, but he was injured and held firmly by the man, unable to move.
A moment later, Auntie Qiu set something down and left without a second glance.
“Taste it. I brought it back specifically for you,” He Yunqi coaxed. Having made the boy angry, he had to win him back.
In truth, Gu He could not fathom He Yunqi’s personality. He had his own way of doing things, being neither aggressive nor low-profile. He could remember Gu He’s tastes and manipulate his emotions, controlling every detail so naturally that it created an illusion of tenderness. Most people would have long since drowned in this colorful web of gentleness.
For instance, Gu He liked sweet things but did not eat them often. It was like longing for a happy life while trying hard to restrain himself. After all, he knew not to let his heart be easily moved by things that did not belong to him. In the prison of his heart, the word longing was always locked away. He could only use calmness and indifference as a perfect disguise to keep himself from being disturbed or controlled by desire. Only by knowing restraint could he remain sober.
Gu He shifted his attention to the cake on the table. It was encased in a high-end palace-style gift box, looking very expensive. Opening the box revealed a stunning design: the decoration featured a little prince wearing a crown, with the words “For my little prince” written on it.
Seeing Gu He’s shock, He Yunqi acted as if it were nothing. He still handled it himself, first feeding the boy a blueberry from the top, and then scooping a spoonful of cream to his lips.
Gu He obediently opened his mouth. The cake was smooth, sweet without being greasy, and mixed with a faint fragrance. The soft sweetness touching his taste buds and dancing on his tongue made his mood significantly better.
Gu He’s emotions felt a bit ethereal. No one had ever gone to such lengths to make him happy. Because he was somewhat reclusive, his personality alone discouraged half of the people he met. Yet, He Yunqi always burst into his world with arrogance and dominance, regardless of his consent. This kind of expensive cake was clearly not something one could just buy anywhere.
He had guessed correctly. This was a creation by the famous pastry chef M.J., who was essentially the personal chef for the nobility. The desserts he made almost never repeated a style; each piece was a work of art that could make anyone linger.
He had heard from Xie Jun that He Yunqi was actually very busy. Because he had to manage affairs across borders, many things were waiting for him. He had not expected the man to bring him a gift upon his return. It seemed he was quite good at making his little pet happy. At this moment, Gu He admitted he was enchanted for a few seconds.
