- Chapter 19 - Your Ancestor Has Lost Contact
“Yes.”
Xie Jun arrived panting. One moment he was at the negotiating table, and the next, his subordinates informed him that Gu He had disappeared. Cooperation could always be renegotiated, but losing this particular ancestor was a life and death matter. He rushed over at maximum speed, even running two red lights. Fine! All his license points were gone; he would have to retake the driving exam.
He Yunqi’s dark gaze drifted indifferently over him. He flicked the ash from his cigarette with a finger, adjusted his trousers, and knelt before Gu He. Removing his gloves, he tilted the boy’s chin up for a detailed inspection, his index and middle fingers gently stroking his cheek.
A new scar had appeared across that cold brow, deeper than the last. He said coldly, “You are disfigured.”
Gu He’s nose caught a deep, cool scent of sandalwood emanating from He Yunqi.
Suddenly, he felt He Yunqi’s fingers press against the wound as if in punishment. The pressure was heavy. Dense beads of sweat broke out on Gu He’s forehead, and his lips trembled slightly, yet he did not make a single sound. He silently gritted his teeth to suppress the inflicted pain.
The next second, the man began to stroke the hot, swollen skin around the wound with extreme gentleness. Gu He’s eyelashes fluttered; a wave of numbness washed through his chest, and his breathing slowed.
Then, He Yunqi picked him up. His arms tightened with heavy force, so strong that Gu He felt he might suffocate in the man’s embrace at any moment.
Gu He felt uncertain; he had never truly understood this man.
The air was suddenly filled with a thick scent of blood. He wanted to turn his head to look, but he was held firmly against the man’s chest.
“Adults are fighting. Children should not look.”
With that, a pair of hands covered Gu He’s eyes. His ears were filled with heart-wrenching wails that soon turned into humble, low whimpers for mercy.
Gu He was no saint. Even if the other party was a student, so what? He believed He Yunqi understood boundaries better than he did.
“Teacher Gu,” Zhao Yanqin did not know He Yunqi. He wanted to step forward but did not dare; this man looked dangerous.
“Get him out of here,” He Yunqi’s voice was deep, each word seemingly squeezed through his teeth. Pressed against his chest, Gu He could naturally feel the vibration in the man’s ribcage as he spoke.
Xie Jun caught the meaning immediately.
“Classmate, you can go back now.” Compared to He Yunqi’s attitude, Xie Jun was quite polite.
Even though this man was smiling, he exuded an invisible pressure. Zhao Yanqin still could not help but look toward Gu He.
“Thank you for looking after our sister-in-law,” Xie Jun’s meaning was simple: get lost immediately. Letting you leave is giving you a chance at life; do not be ungrateful.
Sure enough, Zhao Yanqin’s face turned deathly pale. He apologized haltingly, “I am, I am sorry. Goodbye.”
Then he stumbled away, running out in one breath. What happened tonight was enough to shock him and would leave him with sufficient guilt.
Their Seventh Master had lived a solitary, ascetic life for so long. Now that he finally had a little wife he wanted to date, his brain had not even fully processed it before this kid tried to snatch him away and involve him in such a dangerous situation. If not for the fact that he was still a student, he would have been dead a hundred times over. Anyone who dared to covet Seventh Master’s person would have to answer to Xie Jun first!
When Xie Jun received the news from Xu Jichuan earlier tonight, a chill had run down his spine.
On the other end, Xu Jichuan had carefully considered his wording, but he was so nervous that he blurted out, “Hello, no, hello, Brother Xie.”
Xie Jun was already breaking into a cold sweat because Seventh Master had taken the initiative to contact someone and failed. Hearing this person stuttering made his temples throb. “I am fine. Does your tongue have anything to say besides nonsense?”
“Your ancestor has lost contact.”
Damn it!
At that moment, He Yunqi had glanced at him coldly, causing the surrounding atmosphere to turn icy. A chill ran from the top of Xie Jun’s head straight to his heels!
According to Gu He’s routine lately, he mostly moved between four points: the classroom, the library, the canteen, and the dormitory. He Yunqi’s men followed him, so there was no reason for him to lose contact.
Furthermore, they picked him up every night, so there was no reason they could not reach him unless he did not want to be found.
After spending these days together, they found that this young master was not actually difficult to get along with. He looked cold and hard to approach, but he was actually quite pleasant. Regarding his lab classes or after-school sessions, he would tell the men outside to go eat first and not wait, saying they could just pick him up later.
Picking him up for dinner every night was a rule set by Seventh Master. After all, with that small frame, who knew if he would eat on time? His daily nutrition had to be maintained.
Initially, Gu He had refused the dinner arrangements. Later, when told it was Seventh Master’s order, he did not want to make things difficult for them. It was just an extra meal, anyway.
Today happened to be a lab class. They waited at the usual time, but the person never appeared.
Upon inquiry, they learned that no one had stayed late for the lab, and class had even ended early. Yet, the person had not come out. The lights in the lab building were off, and he was nowhere to be found.
After realizing something was wrong, they immediately notified Xie Jun and checked the surveillance footage. Only then did they discover that his expression was not very good when he left the school. Fortunately, they caught up.
Inside the Car
Xu Jichuan looked at the brewing storm and could not help but feel nervous. He silently lowered the partition and prayed that the fallout would not affect him.
Gu He did not dare to move in the man’s arms. First, he was being held too tightly, and second, his bones ached all over; he could not move even if he wanted to.
He Yunqi opened a box beside him. Inside lay a jet-black stud earring. Gu He’s gaze instantly became complicated.
With a face like frost and long, narrow eyes carrying an irresistible majesty, He Yunqi skillfully placed the piercing stud into the slot of the piercing gun. The needle pointed toward the bolt. He aligned it with that fair little ear and pressed down with a “bang.” A moment of sharp pain followed, and the ear suddenly turned red and hot.
He stroked the newly placed stud, turning it gently again and again. His gaze fixed heavily on the boy as he said in a low, magnetic voice, “As a punishment, you are not allowed to remove this earring.”
Inside was a miniature tracker. Whether he was in the Amazon or the Mariana Trench, he could be tracked.
Then, he gave Gu He an intense, punishing, and possessive kiss that swept over him like a violent storm.
The man’s breath overwhelmed him, enveloping him completely. Then his lips were sucked and swirled. The unfamiliar sensation made Gu He’s heart race wildly. Feeling as though he could not breathe through his nose, he instinctively opened his mouth.
He Yunqi bound him tightly, making his limbs go weak. He had no strength to resist, and his body could not help but shiver again.
In the front, Xie Jun heard the faint, intimate sounds of the kiss. He suddenly winced: What kind of cleanliness obsession is this? My ears are no longer clean.
Gu He’s fractured hand was pressed hard by He Yunqi. The pain soaked into his limbs and bones, making his whole-body tremble.
He was certain that if He Yunqi lost interest in him, the man could crush him with a single finger and make him vanish from this world.
