- Chapter 19 - Ankle Bracelets and Bite Guards (Slight Forced)
When Gao Chang woke up again, his surroundings had completely changed.
As if anticipating violent damage, the four walls had been reinforced with soundproofing and explosion-proof materials. The room contained only a single bed and a table pitifully few pieces of furniture. However, on the half-wall near the window, a dazzling array of strange “props” hung in full display.
Judging by the decor, which differed significantly from a normal hotel, he had been taken by Xing Xiyan to a theme hotel specifically designed for Alphas to spend their Rut.
Fearing he might lose control and harm others, Xing Xiyan had not only shackled his hands behind his back but had also fitted a bite guard over his face. The bite guard was made of a special material rated 3S or higher, and the joint was secured with a combination lock; without the code, it was impossible to remove by hand.
More than removing the bite guard, what he desperately needed right now was a functional inhibitor.
He could clearly feel that this Rut was not only sudden but far more agonizing than the few times he had experienced it in the past. Since waking on the bed, his symptoms hadn’t subsided due to his brief unconsciousness; instead, they had become even more uncontrollable.
The increasingly boiling heat constantly dismantled the few remaining shreds of his consciousness. Like countless tiny, searing tongues of flame, it invaded his internal organs from his skin, conquering every inch of his territory. Even a slight breath acted as a catalyst to worsen the parched cracking of his body.
His logic was slipping away. His body was reaching its limit.
“…Inhibitor… inhibitor!”
Gao Chang forced his eyelids open, pushing himself to ignore the intensifying heat. He struggled to move his body toward the youth. For a moment, the heavy chain on his ankle roughly as thick as three adult fingers swayed violently due to his tugging, letting out a series of crisp, rhythmic metallic clanks.
Hearing the noise behind him, Xing Xiyan paused. From the dizzying array of props, he selected his favorite silver ankle bracelet. Jinging the small bell on the hoop, he walked toward the bed.
Before binding the Alpha, he had replaced all of Gao Chang’s clothes, dressing him in only a light, loose, open-collar nightgown. After the previous struggle, the sash of the gown had already come undone, and the collar had slipped from his shoulders to his elbows, with parts of the hem bunched up beneath him.
“Dammit, where is the inhibitor I asked for?!”
Seeing the object in Xing Xiyan’s hand, Gao Chang’s eyes turned red with rage. The manic factors in his heart were uncontrollable, causing the swaying of his ankle chain to become much more violent than before. The crisp, heavy scent of cold bamboo instantly flooded the room.
“With me here, Senior has no need for such things.”
The youth seemed oblivious to his rage. He pressed a knee onto the bed, gripping the Alpha’s free ankle with one hand and dragging him to the edge of the bed. With the other hand, he opened the clasp of the ankle bracelet and easily snapped it on above the ankle bone.
“Stop talking nonsense… I need it… I really need it… get it for me now.”
Feeling the foreign object on his leg, Gao Chang frowned and shook his foot in dissatisfaction, trying to dislodge the icy metallic sensation. Unfortunately, while the bracelet was a half-circle wider than his ankle, it caught perfectly on his ankle bone; no matter how he shook, it wouldn’t fall. Instead, it produced a chaotic jingle of bells that echoed in the room for a while before settling.
Xing Xiyan’s throat tightened, a surge of heat rushing to his groin. An unprecedented urge for cruelty reached its peak the moment he saw the man’s bare chest and abdomen rising and falling sharply under the black nightgown.
“It’s already too late.” Pale fingertips instinctively obeyed the commands of his heart, pressing and twisting against the red fruit on the Alpha’s ribs. “Senior must know that once an Alpha in a Rut misses the optimal injection window, no amount of inhibitors will help.”
He hadn’t forgotten the “spring scenery” he accidentally witnessed when the Alpha fell that day, and he remembered even more clearly how the Alpha had helped him soothe the effects of the drug that night. Despite his verbal protests, the Alpha hadn’t simply abandoned him; in the end, he had half-willingly allowed the youth to leave bite marks all over his body. Even when bitten painfully, he had only scolded him with red eyes and toothless threats.
Stiff-mouthed, soft-hearted. Every thought was written clearly in those transparent blue eyes. A prey who didn’t even realize he had become an Omega’s target…
Thinking of the obstacles he would have to clear in the future, the youth’s heartstrings tightened, and his touch on the Alpha grew heavier.
“Fuck, so you hit me on purpose… to make me miss the window?!”
Gao Chang’s face flushed a deep crimson. He hurriedly turned his back, trying to escape the sinful hand that was constantly fanning the flames.
“I just wanted Senior to fulfill today’s promise.”
Xing Xiyan didn’t deny it. He rubbed his lips against the Alpha’s nape, his restraint hiding a barely perceptible obsession. Although the Alpha was turning his back in a fit of pique, he was nothing but a mass of vulnerabilities, unable to even resist the youth’s approach.
It didn’t stop him from moving to a different spot.
Cool fingertips suddenly dove down, slipping past the Alpha’s negligible covering. A shallow scrape sent a tiny, electric current through his body. Realizing his body was betraying him, Gao Chang’s pupils trembled. He hurriedly bit down on the soft flesh inside his mouth, using the pain to claw back a few shreds of clarity.
“Just for this… you’d do this to me?”
Knowing he was an Alpha that once he fell into a mania, he wouldn’t even know what he was doing Xing Xiyan still expected him to fulfill some “goddamned promise”?! This was far too obsessive!
“What Senior should consider is how to cooperate with me and feel me for the next few days.”
Feeling the warmth and delicacy of the skin beneath his palm, Xing Xiyan uncontrollably bit the fair nape that smelled of cold bamboo. Speaking mumble-voiced, he propped up a knee and pressed his fingers together, using that “muddiness” to slowly explore and enter.
He was dead set on helping the Alpha through this Rut.
Gao Chang instantly lost his nerve. He swallowed the gasp that reached his throat and shouted a warning: “It’s useless… you’re not an Omega… I’m going to lose control. I’ll only attack you. Even if I want to cooperate… I won’t be able to…”
An Alpha in the early stages could still retain some logic. By the middle stage, they were nothing but beasts with only the instinct to mark left in their minds. This beast, no matter how much it craved mating, would only desire a high-compatibility Omega. Without satisfaction, it would only become more manic and out of control.
Xing Xiyan wasn’t an Omega; he wouldn’t secrete the high-compatibility pheromones Gao Chang craved. Since the youth was clearly the one with designs on him, it was unlikely he would just lie down and let Gao Chang take him. No matter how you looked at it, he wasn’t the ideal target for marking…
Hearing the Alpha mention “Omegas” over and over, the youth lowered his head in silence, the darkness in his eyes deepening.
As if finally reaching the limit of his patience, the gentle pecks on Gao Chang’s nape were suddenly replaced by a vicious, angry bite. As he broke the skin, the part of him that had long been poised for action suddenly broke through the layers of softness and drove straight in.
He threw the Alpha’s rejection to the back of his mind through sheer physical action.
