- After Breaking Up with the Alpha Villain, I was Forcibly Marked
- Chapter 14 - "That Omega is Carrying Senior's Child?"
Gao Yang was ecstatic.
His “protagonist halo” must have finally kicked in, allowing him to escape a narrow brush with fate.
Gao Yang cleared his throat and covered his mouth with a fist, trying his best not to let his relief show too obviously. “He might have something urgent. You don’t mind if I take this, do you?”
Without waiting for the youth to respond, he tapped rapidly on his metal wristband. The moment the light screen flickered to life, he impatiently selected “Accept.” He didn’t even glance at the caller ID, terrified of being a second too late.
“Yang-yang, where are you?”
A man with auburn hair, green eyes, and an enchantingly seductive face appeared on the video call. It was Lu Yunzheng.
“What do you want?” Gao Yang asked while casually pulling his leg out from where it was pinned by Xing Xiyan’s arm.
“Naturally it concerns your future life events,” Lu Yunzheng teased.
“Just say it.” Seeing his childhood friend’s “I’m here for the drama” expression, Gao Yang knew it wouldn’t be anything good.
“An Omega came to the school looking for you. He said.”
Lu Yunzheng’s gaze swept over Gao Yang’s open collar, and the smile on his face instantly froze. The side of his friend’s neck was littered with vivid, striking red marks, scattered near the shoulder as if they had just been imprinted.
His sources had told him that even today, Gao Yang had not given up on that bastard son. He hadn’t believed it. Now, it seemed the rumors were true. Their relationship appeared to have progressed significantly while he wasn’t looking nearly veering out of his control.
Before this, even though there were always new faces around his friend, he had never seen a single mark on that clean, white neck.
Why isn’t my Yang-yang loving and leaving them like he used to? Why would he rather abandon his lifelong principles just to be with an undifferentiated waste? Why won’t he ever look at me…
“He said what?” Gao Yang urged, noticing that Lu Yunzheng had gone silent halfway through, staring blankly as if lost in thought.
Lu Yunzheng suppressed the monstrous jealousy in his heart and replaced it with his usual friendly smile. “He said he’s pregnant with your child. He’s on the rooftop right now with one leg over the railing, refusing to come down. He’s making a life-and-death scene waiting for you to show your face.”
“Give me a break. Who’s trying to scam me now?!”
Hearing such shocking news, Gao Yang nearly choked on his own saliva. What kind of brain-dead Omega would try to scam him without even coming up with a plausible plan? Using a child to trap him—did they really think he was that big of a sucker?
Lu Yunzheng shrugged. “Your forty-fifth ex-boyfriend.”
Gao Yang: “…”
He felt numb.
“Don’t you want to come and see?” Lu Yunzheng asked. Come and see the ‘gift’ I’ve carefully selected for you.
Lu Yunzheng withdrew his gaze from the two shadows huddled close together on the wall behind Gao Yang. He sounded like he was asking his friend, but he was really signaling the other person present.
“Send me the location.”
Although Gao Yang had no feelings for this “forty-fifth ex” and couldn’t even recall their face or pheromone scent, he decided to head over and see what the hell was going on.
“That Omega… has Senior’s child?”
Xing Xiyan, who had been silent, finally spoke.
At the question, Gao Yang’s heart skipped a beat. He belatedly realized that Xing Xiyan had heard every word of Lu Yunzheng’s call. He cursed Lu Yunzheng in his head for stirring up trouble.
“Don’t listen to his nonsense! How could he possibly have my child?!”
“Is Senior so certain…?”
Even though Gao Yang looked perfectly composed and his explanation was full of confidence, Xing Xiyan remained skeptical.
The rank of an Alpha didn’t just represent talent and potential; it represented a difference in reproductive capability. Higher-ranked Alphas could impregnate Omegas much more easily. The conception rate of an S-rank Alpha was ten times higher than that of an inferior Alpha, let alone the man before him an SS-rank Elite Alpha.
Seeing Xing Xiyan’s “I don’t believe you” expression, Gao Yang wiped his face in frustration. “I’m innocent! I never even slept with him once, so where would a child come from?!”
Forget sex he hadn’t even kissed the guy. No matter how promiscuous he seemed, he had principles!
“Aside from that.”
Xing Xiyan’s gaze was deep and bottomless, making it impossible to read his emotions.
Gao Yang blinked. “What?”
Xing Xiyan’s fingertip touched the red marks on the Alpha’s neck, scratching over them with a light, measured pressure. “Have you ever had a relationship with any other Omega?”
Even though he had asked this half an hour ago, he wanted to confirm it again. He wanted to hear a clear, certain answer not a vague, evasive one. This was important to him.
“No, no! You have to believe me!”
Though he couldn’t guess why Xing Xiyan was asking about other Omegas again, Gao Yang did not disappoint. His answer was resolute and crisp. Fearing another “death interrogation” that would crush his pride, he steeled himself, grabbed the hand that was poking at his neck, and added a classic “overbearing CEO” line: “You are the first person to ever make me lose control, and you will be the last!”
His mission was to win over the “Protagonist Shou.” Now that the target was right in front of him, his previous “Search for the Protagonist” plan was naturally void.
Strangely, after he said this, the youth before him didn’t react for a long time. There was no change in expression on that exquisite face; he remained as cold and aloof as ever. His unique, narrow phoenix eyes—with light brown irises that looked like water reflecting a sunset stared at Gao Yang unblinkingly.
Under the sunlight, the intensity in those eyes grew darker and deeper, giving Gao Yang the strong, sudden illusion that there was nowhere left to run.
“Alright. I believe you.”
Noticing that the Alpha was spacing out again, Xing Xiyan withdrew his overflowing emotions and instinctively tightened his grip on the man’s hand.
Whether your promise is true or false, you will be my Alpha alone.
The first, and the last.
Gao Yang couldn’t see the predatory possessiveness in the youth’s eyes; he simply thought the boy had finally been moved by his touching declaration. He felt a wave of relief.
Thinking of the Omega waiting for him, Gao Yang asked hesitantly, “Then, you…”
He had finally gotten Xing Xiyan to agree to date him; he couldn’t let some baseless misunderstanding ruin it.
“I want to go with Senior to see that, Omega.”
As if knowing what he wanted to ask, Xing Xiyan’s lips curled slightly. He took the initiative to hold Gao Yang’s hand and led him out.
Gao Yang felt a surge of warmth, moved beyond words by the youth’s “understanding” nature. He followed closely behind.
