After Being Targeted By A Younger, Obsessive Tycoon, Mei Qiang Was In A Terrible Predicament - Chapter 8
Light blue smoke filled the car. Qi Xiaolin’s eyes were half-closed, obscuring the turbulent emotions rising within him.
Jin Yu gripped Yan Qingming’s sleeve persistently. “You promised me that you would take me for a ride. You cannot go back on your word!”
Yan Qingming pulled his arm away calmly. “In a few days.”
He loathed it when others touched him directly; it was a habit he had maintained for years. If this were the past, he would have kicked the person away, but times had changed. He could not afford to offend any of these local influential families.
Jin Yu was thick-skinned and failed to notice Yan Qingming’s discomfort. He was naturally strong, and since Yan Qingming’s wrist was slim enough for him to grip completely, he clung to it shamelessly. He stared distractedly at Yan Qingming’s fair neck, feeling his throat go dry.
This face haunted his dreams. Seeing him briefly on the street had felt like being possessed; his head was full of Yan Qingming. On a whim, he had slipped away from his martial arts instructor, hidden it from his family, and run to this godforsaken place to learn flashy, flowery Taekwondo. Yan Qingming’s face was impossible to forget after just one glance. His entire being exuded an ascetic aura, and this ice-cold beauty drove Jin Yu mad with desire.
The restraint he had been imposing upon himself trembled violently. Something in his chest could no longer be contained. He opened his mouth unconsciously and said, “Why do you not just follow…”
“Oh? A new friend? Why have you not mentioned him to me?”
Jin Yu’s sentence was cut short by a sudden, mocking voice. He turned toward the sound and saw a man walking toward them step by step. Although the man was smiling, the smile did not reach his eyes, and the sinister glint in his gaze sent a chill down one’s spine.
Qi Xiaolin stood beside them. Jin Yu was in a wheelchair, putting him at a significant disadvantage in terms of presence; he had to look up to meet the man’s eyes. Qi Xiaolin did not give him a pleasant look. Instead, he reached out and touched Yan Qingming’s face, his tone laced with a warning. “Do not let me wait too long.”
No further words were needed; Yan Qingming understood his meaning perfectly. There was no doubt that Qi Xiaolin had seen everything that happened just moments ago.
Qi Xiaolin did not wait for a reaction from Yan Qingming. His peripheral vision had caught the sight of Jin Yu’s hand tightly gripping Yan Qingming’s. His gaze was burning, piercing into Jin Yu’s hand like a nail. The look in his eyes was terrifying.
To Qi Xiaolin, the naive youth in front of him was an absolute eyesore at this moment. He raised the cigarette he was holding and, without hesitation, pressed the burning end into the back of Jin Yu’s hand.
Jin Yu groaned in pain but did not let go of Yan Qingming.
Qi Xiaolin laughed grimly. “Coveting what belongs to others is a particularly annoying habit.”
“Since your legs are already ruined, there is no need to keep these hands. Which finger do you want me to chop off first? Hmm?”
Murderous intent filled his eyes, and he twisted the cigarette butt hard against the skin. The faint scent of charred flesh drifted into the air. Jin Yu’s brow furrowed tightly.
Yan Qingming could no longer stand by. He used his other hand to push away the cigarette butt from Jin Yu’s wrist and said in a low voice, “That is enough.”
Qi Xiaolin had let his guard down, and the cigarette dropped from his fingers to the floor. A blister had formed where the embers had touched Jin Yu’s hand, the pain causing Jin Yu’s expression to contort involuntarily.
Qi Xiaolin turned to look at Yan Qingming, asking with displeasure, “Are you undermining my authority in front of others?”
Yan Qingming was not in the least affected by his anger. “I simply cannot stand you wreaking havoc on domestic soil.”
Qi Xiaolin was so furious that he laughed. “Do you have the nerve to play the saint in front of me?”
Yan Qingming did not continue the argument. Seizing the moment while Jin Yu was distracted, he pulled his wrist free and walked out of the dojo without looking back. “Going home.”
Qi Xiaolin already knew about this place. If he did not leave now, the next step would be Qi Xiaolin either buying the dojo or smashing it to pieces. Either way, he would lose this job regardless.
Qi Xiaolin snorted coldly and strode after him. Before leaving, he looked back at Jin Yu and warned in a low voice, “Consider yourself lucky to have kept your life.”
