After Being Targeted By A Younger, Obsessive Tycoon, Mei Qiang Was In A Terrible Predicament - Chapter 7
Dawn broke. The ambulance stopped outside the hospital, and the man, who had been beaten into a bloody mess, lay on the stretcher unconscious.
Qi Xiaolin’s expression was terrifyingly dark, as if a monstrous storm were brewing in his eyes. From Yan Feng, he had learned only one thing: Qingyan had been left without a proper burial. He wanted nothing more than to grind that old bastard’s bones into dust, but because Yan Feng refused to reveal the location of his parents’ remains, he had to keep the old man alive for now.
He did not even glance at the ambulance as it drove away; he climbed into his car and left the prison.
By the time he reached the city, it was broad daylight. He arrived at the apartment where Yan Qingming lived. He rang the doorbell for a long time, but no one answered, so he entered the code and pushed the door open himself.
It was late enough that, under normal circumstances, Yan Qingming would be working out in the second-floor gym or taking Carl for a walk. Yet, upon entering, he saw Yan Qingming’s slippers on the shoe rack, and Carl was fast asleep on the sofa.
Where had he gone?
A wave of inexplicable irritation and anxiety washed over him. Had he run away? That did not seem right; why would he leave the dog behind?
He dialed Yan Qingming’s number. For the first time, the call was answered quickly. Disregarding everything else, he snapped, “Where the hell are you? Get back here right now!”
A voice full of confusion sounded from the other end. “Are you a friend of Teacher Yan? I am sorry, but Teacher Yan is busy at the moment. When he returns, I will tell him to call you back.”
The voice sounded like that of a teenager.
Qi Xiaolin nearly crushed his teeth in frustration. The cats Yan Qingming had brought home were still lounging lazily on the sofa. Yan Qingming was still working the job he had explicitly forbidden him from doing yesterday. His words were treated like nothing more than hot air.
He said in a deep voice, “Do not bother. Just tell me where he is, and I will go find him.”
The person on the other end hesitated for a moment before replying, “All right.”
Yan Qingming had been summoned to the office. The director looked at him helplessly and said earnestly, “That is the young master of the Jin family, the apple of their eye. If something happens to him in our dojo, the Jin family will tear the place down.”
Yan Qingming replied, “He is a student in my class. I failed to supervise him properly. I am willing to pay for his medical expenses and compensation.”
The director sighed. “This is not something that can be solved with money. The main issue is that the Jin family refuses to let this go. Jin Yu is currently in a wheelchair, and he is waiting outside. Go and plead with him; try to say something nice and see if you can get the Jin family to go easy on us.”
Yan Qingming nodded. “All right.”
After all, the incident had occurred because of him. Even if he found the situation absurd, he had to see it through to the end. These spoiled rich kids were truly troublesome. Once he received this month’s salary, he decided he would find a job as a bodyguard or something similar.
As he stepped out of the office, he saw Jin Yu sitting in a wheelchair with an exaggerated amount of plaster cast on his leg. Jin Yu had been waiting for a long time and finally saw Yan Qingming. As soon as he caught sight of him, his heart blossomed with joy, and he could not help but grin, revealing a silly, foolish smile.
Yan Qingming stared at him.
Suddenly, he did not want to pay a single cent.
