After Being Seduced by a Beautiful Bad Girl Omega - Chapter 2
Earlobes Tingeing with a Faint Pink
The woman possessed a cold and detached temperament, carrying a natural sense of aloofness, yet the wisp of floral fragrance drifting from her was completely different from this chill.
Soft and warm.
The faint scent slowly wrapped around her neck, hovering close to her breath, carrying a vague, lingering clinginess.
Pei Yuan always felt the other person looked a bit familiar.
She recalled carefully for a moment, then suddenly remembered: Isn’t this the great beauty who brushed past her earlier at the entrance of the testing room?
What a coincidence.
Her matching partner turned out to be her?
What was this, destined fate?
Thinking this, Pei Yuan immediately stamped out the notion: Don’t be so full of yourself; she probably didn’t even notice what you look like.
Lowering her head, she obediently and honestly sat down across from the beauty.
The beauty gathered the stack of documents together, placing them on the other side of the table, as a strand of her silver-long hair slipped down along with the movement, covering half of her profile.
She raised her hand, the silver hair winding around her fingertips and tucking behind her ear, revealing a small section of her earlobes tingeing with a faint pink.
Looks very biteable, Pei Yuan thought.
The beauty spoke in a calm voice: “Apologies, due to various reasons, my identity information is strictly protected within White Tower City and cannot be easily made public.”
“Hiding things from you on the test report was also a helpless measure.”
“Then, nice to meet you.”
Looking at her, the beauty reached out a hand.
There was a hint of a smile amidst her brows and lashes: “My name is Cen Zhixu. ‘Zhi’ as in knowing, ‘Xu’ as in order.”
Pei Yuan tried her best to shrink herself into a ball. She nodded cowardly, cautiously reaching out her hand to shake the other person’s hand.
The moment her fingertips touched the soft palm, it felt like being burned, and she swiftly pulled her hand back:
“You, you. Hello, my name is Pei Yuan.”
“Mhm, I saw it on the compatibility report.”
Cen Zhixu slowly retracted her hand, her five fingers curling and resting lightly on her lap.
“It is truly rare.” Her tone was level. “This is my first time encountering an Alpha with 98.9% compatibility. To be honest, I was also a bit surprised when I saw the report.”
Pei Yuan answered timidly: “Uhm, Ms. Cen, I always feel like there might be something wrong with this report.”
Cen Zhixu slightly raised an eyebrow: “A problem?”
“You must have seen it on the report too,” Pei Yuan squeezed out an ingratiating smile, “my pheromone grade is only D-class, and the gap between yours and mine is simply far too huge.”
Cen Zhixu smiled and said nothing.
Being quietly watched by such a great beauty, Pei Yuan felt a bit intimidated, her gaze drifting restlessly all around.
It drifted to the street trees outside the window, landed on the coffee cup on the table, and then, without paying attention, slipped down.
Her gaze, like an out-of-control water droplet, slid past her brows and lashes, rolled along her jawline, and submerged into the slight shadow of her slightly open collar.
The topmost button of her shirt was loose, revealing a porcelain-white and slender neck, where the faint bluish trace of veins was faintly visible.
At her collarbone, a red mole was perched.
No, no, no, no.
Pei Yuan, oh Pei Yuan, where on earth are you looking?
You are simply brimming with audacious boldness!
Pei Yuan mentally cursed herself, her gaze shifting in a panic to the corner of the table, honestly staring fixedly at a line of wood grain.
Cen Zhixu’s tone was calm and even: “As you said, in other city-states, instruments indeed have the possibility of malfunctioning.”
Seeming to notice something, as she spoke, she raised her hand, unhurriedly fastening the collar buttons one by one.
The collar became neat and restrained.
Hiding that shimmering red.
“However, in the Inner City, all equipment is uniformly calibrated by the White Tower, with an error rate of less than one in a million, making the probability of error negligible.”
Cen Zhixu added: “Therefore, I personally believe the credibility of this report is very high.”
Pei Yuan dryly laughed: “Haha, is that so?”
“Mhm.”
Cen Zhixu picked up her coffee and took a sip, leaving a very faint trace of lip imprint on the rim: “Since that is the case, I have a proposal.”
“A compatibility of 98.9%. This number is a fact that neither you nor I can easily ignore.”
Cen Zhixu leaned forward slightly, closing the distance between them.
Pei Yuan immediately felt that floral fragrance grow a bit stronger.
Sweet and damp.
The warm and soft breath closed in near the seam of her lips, cozying up to her and slowly seeping in. Pei Yuan’s throat trembled, subconsciously swallowing.
The sweet fragrance then took advantage of this swallowing motion, slipped in along the root of her tongue, and softly, irresistibly melted between her teeth and lips.
So hot.
That is…
The Omega’s pheromones.
Pei Yuan’s internal alarm bells went wild, and reflexively leaning back a bit, she raised a hand to cover the gland on the back of her neck, pressing down on it.
It was not her first time encountering an Omega’s pheromones; in fact, there was even an Omega member in her own squad.
It was just that they were comrades fighting side by side, and no matter how close their relationship was, it amounted to no more than a punch to the shoulder, with nothing ambiguous about it.
To her, the other person’s pheromones were no different from the air freshener sprayed in the office every day.
Therefore, this was the first time Pei Yuan was approached so unpreparedly by an Omega whose compatibility was approaching the maximum value.
This is bad.
I need to get further away.
Just as Pei Yuan was rapidly calculating in her mind how to reasonably escape to the restroom, Cen Zhixu continued:
“Based on the results of the compatibility test, we can try living together for a period of time.”
Her tone was steady and clear, sounding almost like she was handling official business.
“Do not need to rush to confirm a relationship. We can use one month as an observation period first to understand each other. If we feel it is not a fit, we can end it at any time.”
“No, no, no way,” Pei Yuan waved her hands repeatedly, “Ms. Cen, a person like me has a rather irregular daily routine, and my work is also a bit busy.”
“I am very busy too,” Cen Zhixu smiled lightly. “If you agree, we can meet just once a week, with flexible time arrangements.”
“And I am a rather boring person,” Pei Yuan struggled further. “I do not have many hobbies usually, and I am not very good at chatting.”
“I think you are quite interesting.”
Cen Zhixu changed her posture, resting her elbow on the armrest and propping her chin with her fingertips.
Her middle and ring fingers pressed together, the pads lightly resting against her cheek, sinking slightly into the soft flesh.
“At least, you are the first person I have ever met who, upon encountering a 98.9% compatible partner, desperately wanted to run away even before attempting to get along.”
Pei Yuan: “(Speechless)”
Pei Yuan muttered softly in her heart: System, it is really bizarre. Our grades are so different, why does this Omega lady not mind at all?
The system replied: “Host, I do not understand your constant rejection of the other party and your attitude of attempting to escape.”
“Based on analysis, regardless of appearance, social status, or pheromone compatibility, the other party can be defined as a perfect partner.”
Pei Yuan grumbled: “System, do you think I do not want to? But look at me, old-fashioned, cowardly, and my pockets are so poor there is only enough left for today’s meal money.”
“Can you bear to watch such a great beauty squat by the roadside curb with me, gnawing on steamed buns under the watchful eyes of eight hundred Alpha guards?”
The system: “(Silence)”
The system fell into a rare silence, perhaps feeling that the host was too incomprehensible, or perhaps simply not wanting to humor her.
Cen Zhixu was still waiting for her answer.
After thinking for a moment, Pei Yuan changed to a solemn tone: “Ms. Cen, thank you very much for taking the time to meet with me today.”
“I have considered it seriously, but with my current conditions, I am afraid I truly have no way to provide you with a qualified intimate relationship. Instead of wasting time on me, you would be better off finding someone else.”
Pei Yuan abruptly cut off her sentence, swallowing the second half hard down her throat, and changed her words: “Anyway, I am deeply sorry.”
The air was quiet for two seconds.
“Okay.”
Cen Zhixu uttered only this single word, her tone level, without pressing further or attempting to persuade her to stay.
“I respect your decision.”
Turning around, she gathered the documents on the table one by one, neatly placing them into the briefcase at her side.
Sitting across from her, Pei Yuan looked at her lowered profile and suddenly felt a bit unwilling.
Clearly it was her own proposal to refuse.
Clearly it was she who wanted to run away.
Yet seeing the other party accept it so cleanly and decisively, she instead felt unwilling?
“Uhm, Ms. Cen.”
Pei Yuan suddenly blurted out these words.
Cen Zhixu’s action of packing the documents paused.
“Perhaps,” Pei Yuan offered a forced laugh, “may I keep your contact information?”
“Just in case, if I run into something, maybe I can be of help.”
Cen Zhixu raised her head, looking at her. Her gaze fell and lingered on her face for a moment.
“Give me your hand.”
Pei Yuan was stunned: “Ah?”
“Your hand,” Cen Zhixu said, maintaining her previous detached tone, “extend it.”
In a daze, Pei Yuan extended her right hand.
Palm up, five fingers slightly splayed, hanging somewhat blankly in the air between them.
Cen Zhixu reached out and supported it.
Her palm pressed against the back of Pei Yuan’s hand, her fingertips wrapping around the side of her wrist, her thumb gently pinning down the outer edge to fix Pei Yuan’s hand in mid-air.
Then, her fingertips landed on the palm.
Starting from a position slightly above the center of the palm, she traced an arc, the touch light and delicate, following the ravines of the palm prints all the way up to burn against the wrist.
Pei Yuan’s fingers curled involuntarily, then she forced herself to relax them.
With the final digit drawn, her fingertip finished in the palm with a tiny trailing hook.
Cen Zhixu withdrew her hand.
“My communication number,” she said. “If you change your mind later, you can contact me at any time.”
Pei Yuan pulled her hand back, palm down, pressing it over her knee.
CZX193… what was it again?
Damn it, it was all gone.
Seeing that Cen Zhixu was zipping up her briefcase and looked ready to leave immediately, Pei Yuan let out a silent wail in her heart.
I am sorry Ms. Cen, I did not remember the number you just wrote, can you please do it again? She truly could not bring herself to say those words.
Just as Pei Yuan fell into a spiral of despair, a familiar mechanical voice sounded in her mind:
“Host, recording complete.”
The system said: “CZX193-0427-L. If needed, you may ask me at any time.”
Pei Yuan long breathed out.
“System,” she said with immense gratitude, “you really are the best, kindest, and most thoughtful system I have ever met in my life.”
The system: “Thank you.”
Standing up, Pei Yuan bowed to her: “Ms. Cen, then I will be leaving first.”
Just as she turned around, a soft call came from behind her: “Pei Yuan, wait a moment.”
Pei Yuan stopped and turned back: “Hm?”
Cen Zhixu was still sitting on the sofa, looking up at her. The light fell on her face, illuminating the fine fuzz into a soft, glowing halo, making her whole person carry a fuzzy aura.
Her expression remained calm, and her tone was also calm: “Could you do me a favor?”
Like a conditioned reflex, Pei Yuan put on the habitual, on-call smile she used when being bossed around at the company: “Of course, of course. What would you like me to do?”
Cen Zhixu pointed behind the sofa: “There is a folding wheelchair over there, please help me unfold it.”
Pausing for a moment, she gazed into Pei Yuan’s eyes, her long eyelashes lifting with a hint of a lazy smile:
“And then, carry me up.”
