After Being Seduced by a Beautiful Bad Girl Omega - Chapter 1
The lips were excessively soft.
“Pei Yuan, Pei Yuan!”
Pei Yuan was sleeping soundly when she heard someone calling her. She rubbed the corners of her eyes and raised her head, still dazed.
The moment she opened her eyes:
The email she had just started writing was displayed on the screen. The content was “Dear Director,” followed by a bunch of random garbled characters typed in her sleep: “jjjjkkkk”.
The moment she turned her head:
Her supervisor was standing right beside her, with a forced, tight-lipped smile, staring at her with a look that clearly said, “You can clear out your desk by tomorrow.”
Pei Yuan: ? ! ? !
Where was this? A nightmare or hell?
Please let me just fall back asleep.
I never want to wake up again.
“Sleeping on the job again,” the supervisor tapped on the desk, her tone flat. “Xiao Pei, you have got some nerve.”
Pei Yuan jumped up instantly, her chair crashing loudly against the partition: “Supervisor, to be completely honest with you!”
“I stayed up until 3 AM last night revising the proposal, and got up at 6 AM today to double-check the data. I was just so exhausted and fuzzy-headed that I accidentally dozed off!”
She said earnestly, “Of course, none of these are excuses. It is all entirely my own poor time management! I will deeply reflect and examine myself. Please give me another chance!”
The supervisor snorted coldly, “What kind of proposal made you stay up until dawn?”
Xiao Pei forced a continuous smile, “It is the proposal you suggested optimizations for the day before yesterday. Your experience is so seasoned and your insights are razor-sharp. I tossed and turned thinking about it for ages and revised it three times. Would you like to take a look in a moment?”
The supervisor’s mood improved quite a bit, and she placed a stack of documents on Xiao Pei’s desk. “I will let you off this time. Pay more attention in the future.”
“Headquarters has arranged a pheromone compatibility test. Be at Testing Room 7 before 11 AM. Do not be late.”
Xiao Pei nodded repeatedly, “Got it, Supervisor, no problem, Supervisor. Thank you so much for the special reminder. I will go prepare right now.”
Watching the supervisor’s retreating figure, Xiao Pei slumped back into her workstation, let out a long breath, and wiped away some nonexistent cold sweat from her forehead.
Right at that moment:
A voice faintly rang out:
“Host, this is already the fifth time this month that you have fallen into a state of sleep during working hours.”
The system said, “Based on this growth curve, I suggest you bring your own soft pillow and quilt to protect your cervical spine and prevent catching a cold.”
Xiao Pei muttered softly, “This is all your fault. Did I not ask you to help set an alarm to wake me up?”
The system said, “I did set it. It rang every two minutes, going from lyrical to rock, to metal death growls, to air-raid sirens, and it still completely failed to wake you up. I am quite helpless as well.”
Xiao Pei: “…”
Despicable.
Roast by this gadget yet again.
Complaints aside, Xiao Pei finished writing her email, tidied up her things, and took the cloud elevator to the pheromone testing room.
The testing room door was closed. Someone was currently inside testing, and she was next in line.
Xiao Pei leaned against the doorway to wait. She let out a yawn and began to feel sleepy again, her head nodding up and down, drowsy and hazy.
With a click, the door opened.
Someone walked out.
Xiao Pei lowered her head, her eyelids fighting heavy sleep, when suddenly someone walked past her side. Hair strands whipped through the air, brushing against her earlobes.
A fine, itchy sensation, as if a drop of warm, sticky water slid down the back of her neck, caught the edge of her collar, and gave it a gentle tug.
So fragrant.
Xiao Pei abruptly snapped awake.
Yet when she looked up, that person had already walked a long way off, leaving her with only a blurred shadow.
A silver chain emitted a faint, crisp clatter. Her uniform was neat and sharp, nipped tightly at an extremely slender waistline, flashing past in the corridor’s interplay of light and shadow.
Woah, what a great beauty.
Who was she?
Xiao Pei stared blankly for two seconds, rubbed the corners of her eyes, and muttered self-deprecatingly, “What are you even thinking about? It is none of your business anyway.”
“Next.”
The tester called out from inside. Xiao Pei gave an acknowledgment, patted her face, and quickly trotted in.
The tester recorded her identification code and collected a bit of her blood and pheromones.
The process ended quickly. Xiao Pei left the testing room and walked down the spacious and bright corridor.
Sunlight filtered through the glass, spilling downward.
She turned her head to look out the window.
Beyond the glass, tall buildings stood straight, streets were neatly arranged, and trains shuttled back and forth, carving out trails of silver light.
This was a precise, clean, orderly city without a single stray sound.
Three months had already passed since Xiao Pei arrived at a place called White Tower City.
Countless outsiders flooded into this bustling and stable city-state, hoping to find a job, make some money, and live securely.
Xiao Pei was one of them.
She had no household registration code and no credit record. Holding only a temporary transit pass obtained upon entering the city, she repeatedly hit walls while job hunting.
Fortunately, just as Xiao Pei was curled up in a street corner doubting her life, a bizarre entity calling itself the system suddenly popped into her head.
Though she did not know the system’s origin or purpose, with its help, she finally managed to find a temporary foothold and even luckily secured her current job.
Even though the salary was not very high, barely enough for her to survive in this city, Xiao Pei was already quite content.
Xiao Pei took the cloud elevator back to her original floor, slumped over her desk, and reopened her work files.
Dragging the mouse, she boxed and selected the items in the photos, wrote down their names, attached tags, and moved on to the next image.
Several hours slipped away in a blur. The afternoon sun was glaringly bright, making one feel drowsy.
Box, label, archive.
Over and over again.
So boring.
So sleepy.
No, I cannot fall asleep again!
Xiao Pei patted her cheeks and had just stood up to grab a cup of coffee when she heard Colleague A calling her: “Xiao Pei, Xiao Pei!”
Xiao Pei turned around, blooming into a standard, bright smile: “Hey, what is up?”
Colleague A: “Are you heading to the pantry? Go ahead and brew me a cup of coffee, double strength, with a splash of milk.”
Xiao Pei agreed: “No problem.”
Colleague B also chimed in: “Xiao Pei, grab me a bottle of orange juice on your way, iced.”
Someone else shouted from the other side: “I ordered milk tea delivered to the front desk, could you bring it over for me too?”
“I have a package at the mailroom, Xiao Pei, if you pass by, pick it up for me as well.”
The office buzzed with competing voices.
Xiao Pei kept smiling, nodding repeatedly: “No problem, no problem, I will go right now. Everyone wait a moment.”
With that, she turned around and hurried away, disappearing down the end of the corridor.
Watching her trotting figure leave, several colleagues exchanged a glance and chuckled softly.
After all, Xiao Pei was precisely such a dim-witted, slow-paced, spineless pushover.
Whether it was serving tea and water, running errands for packages, or anything else, she never refused, like a lump of dough to be kneaded at will.
Over time, ordering Xiao Pei around had become an unspoken tacit understanding in the office.
After she left, the office returned to quiet, with only the occasional clatter of keyboards and clicks of mice audible.
A short while later, the door was suddenly pushed open with a dull thud.
A colleague carrying a stack of files had not even caught her breath before her voice exploded first: “It is out! The pheromone matching test results came out early!”
Everyone was startled by her commotion, pulling off their headphones one by one and looking up: “Hey, hey, why are you roaring so loud?”
“Exactly, it is just the compatibility test that happens once every three years. Is it really worth making a fuss?”
The colleague waved the document in her hand with an incredulous expression: “Guess what?”
“Someone in our department actually matched with a top-secret SSS-rank target!”
“What?!”
“SSS-rank? Really or fake?”
“Who has such good luck?”
The person paused for dramatic effect, swept her gaze past the crowd, and fixed it firmly on the office doorway: “Xiao Pei, I am talking about you!”
Everyone whipped their heads around in unison.
They saw Xiao Pei standing breathlessly at the door, holding a cup of coffee in her left hand, clamping an orange juice and milk tea in her right, with a string of takeout bags hanging from both arms.
Pinned in place by dozens of gazes, she blinked blankly:
Huh?
Early the next morning, wind swept across the empty platform, scattering fallen leaves everywhere and making people shiver with cold.
The silver rail had not arrived yet. Standing beside the timetable, Xiao Pei irritably rubbed her head.
The black wavy hair that was always carelessly tied up at the company was currently loose over her shoulders, swaying gently in the wind.
“System, is that pheromone compatibility test thing not very accurate?”
Xiao Pei frowned: “My test when entering the city was clearly only D-rank. How could I possibly match with an SSS-rank Omega?”
The system remained as calm as ever: “The rank only represents individual pheromone intensity, not compatibility.”
“The compatibility test comprehensively evaluates multiple dimensions. Although the probability of high compatibility appearing between a D-rank and an SSS-rank is low, it is not entirely impossible.”
“So,” Xiao Pei summarized, “I basically hit the lottery.”
“You could understand it that way.”
The system: “However, I still suggest that you pay more attention to your appearance in order to leave a better first impression on the other party.”
Xiao Pei was silent for two seconds and sighed.
Heaven knows how she managed to bite the bullet and take that compatibility test result yesterday under the wide-eyed stares of her colleagues.
She looked down.
A default avatar had replaced the photo, and the name field had been neatly crossed out with a thick, heavy black line.
There was zero information on the entire paper; from top to bottom, it was completely filled with the cold word Confidential occupying every single field.
At the very bottom was a concise notice:
“Sunday at 3:20 PM, No. 7 Coffee Shop on Yunxu Street, third table by the window, meet.”
Xiao Pei wanted to cry without tears.
Forget names, appearances, or identity information, she did not even have the other person’s contact info, nor could she send a message to cancel the meeting.
Things had come to this, so she could only bite the bullet and go.
Sighing deeply, Xiao Pei boarded the silver rail.
The track circled a towering white tower in the center of the city, carving out a precise and perfect circle. After crossing four sector districts, it quickly reached its destination.
The streets were neat and bright. Coffee shops, dessert shops, and bookstores stood shoulder to shoulder, arranged in orderly rows.
Yet Xiao Pei did not even have to compare street numbers; she spotted the café mentioned in the message at a single glance.
There was no helping it, it was simply too conspicuous.
The entire street was bustling with people coming and going, yet not a single customer was inside that particular café. Two solemn Alpha guards stood guard right at the entrance.
Across the street, at least eight plainclothes Alphas pretended to walk dogs, stroll around, or gaze at the sky, while their peripheral vision actually locked tightly onto the shop entrance.
Xiao Pei: “…”
Oh well.
Just an honest, ordinary little employee here, what kind of deity did I manage to offend?
She pinched the crumpled compatibility test sheet in her pocket, took a deep breath, and walked forward against her better judgment.
The moment she took a step, several sharp gazes fell upon her all at once.
“Ha, hahaha, hello everyone,” Xiao Pei forced an awkward smile as she fished out the report, “So, um, this, that, I…”
A guard took the report, pulled up a light screen, and compared it against her face for a moment before silently stepping aside to clear the doorway.
A rich aroma of coffee rushed over her face, though hidden within the mellow bitterness was a trace of extremely faint floral fragrance.
What kind of flower was it? Xiao Pei wondered.
She was neither a gardener nor a florist; she normally had zero research into plants and flowers, yet at this moment, her heart was hooked by that wispy scent.
The fragrance was very faint, winding in a soft thread as it brushed past her earlobes, grazed her cheeks, and curled up to the tip of her nose.
It felt like a pair of porcelain-white, cool hands pausing softly at the side of her face for a fraction of a second, hooking a strand of loose hair.
Xiao Pei paused slightly, instinctively following the thread of faint fragrance.
Someone was sitting over there.
On the sofa by the window, a woman had her legs crossed, head lowered as she flipped through the documents in her hands.
Silver hair cascaded down her shoulder line, spreading across the dark velvet of the sofa. A white shirt draped over her soft curves, rising and falling slightly with her breath.
The sunlight outside outlined an extremely fine border around her, from her brows and eyelashes to her grey-blue eyes, from the bridge of her nose down to her slightly pursed lips, thin and clean.
Yet those lips were excessively soft, as if lightly bitten, stained with a faint rose-red tint.
She was undoubtedly a beautiful woman, beautiful with a calm, restrained, yet dangerously alluring aura.
The woman naturally heard the opening of the door and the chime of the bell. Her page-turning motion paused, and she lifted her eyes toward the sound.
Their gazes collided.
Behind her, the wind chime was still swaying, ringing once, twice, like the trembling of her own heart.
The beauty smiled faintly, closed the document in her hands, and unhurriedly covered the two words “Pei Yuan” written on top.
“Sit.”
She said.
