After Being Reborn, My Ex-Girlfriend Became Obsessed - Chapter 105
Lin Duxi spoke vaguely, and An Yu didn’t immediately understand which box she meant. But when she saw the sadness and moisture in Lin Duxi’s eyes, a sudden flash appeared in her mind—a vague image from the depths of her memory.
“It’s that box,” An Yu murmured, staring out at the white snow.
The box she had left behind when moving—a box she thought contained only some incomplete high school sketches—had seemed unimportant at the time, so she didn’t take it. But…
“But I left it…” An Yu’s words were cut off as a pair of soft, white fingers covered her mouth. She turned to Lin Duxi, her pupils trembling.
Lin Duxi looked at her gently; the sorrow from before was gone, replaced by deep affection in her eyes.
She shook her head softly, her pale fingers brushing An Yu’s lips, then slowly moving down to cradle the back of her neck.
“These are things from the past, they don’t matter anymore. What I really want to know is whether An Yu wants to go to the hot springs tonight—you promised me.”
Today, a trigger had awakened unpleasant memories, but An Yu shouldn’t be made sad because of them.
The hot springs were a place they had already planned to visit together. They had come on this show not only for the magnificent snow scenery of this city but also for its famous hot springs.
An Yu stared at her, realizing that Lin Duxi had changed the subject to comfort her. Her heart twitched slightly; the shaky expression in her eyes was soon replaced by the same deep affection, and she whispered,
“Okay, we’ll go tonight.”
After a day of climbing the snowy mountain, their muscles were sore—soaking in the hot springs would feel perfect.
The guesthouse chosen by the show was well-known locally, and each room had a private hot spring, though it was somewhat hidden. In the past two days, An Yu and Lin Duxi had been too tired to notice, having collapsed into bed.
Lin Duxi entered first, feeling instantly relaxed as her body touched the hot water. The exhaustion from climbing seemed to dissolve slowly. She leaned against the edge of the pool, half-closing her eyes, almost drifting off.
When An Yu arrived with fruit, she saw this: Lin Duxi resting her hand on the poolside, head tilted slightly back, eyes nearly shut, steam wrapping her like a soft veil, accentuating her fair collarbones. Her long hair floated in the water, partially hiding the pool beneath.
The rising steam blurred her vision. An Yu could only hear her heart pounding in the quiet, humid air.
Lin Duxi, nearly asleep, hadn’t heard An Yu enter. She frowned slightly, trying to open her eyes, only to feel a cool touch on her lips.
Opening her eyes, she saw the fruit and pale fingers, and as she followed the hand upward, An Yu’s face came into view—her long hair tied back, eyes soft like water, gazing at her.
Lin Duxi’s eyes crinkled in a smile. She bit the fruit and murmured, “I’ve been waiting for you so long.”
An Yu didn’t hear clearly what she said, but her expression conveyed the meaning.
“I’ll go cut more fruit,” An Yu said, picking up a piece of watermelon and holding it to Lin Duxi’s lips.
Lin Duxi bit into it and urged An Yu to join her in the pool.
An Yu smiled, recalling how comfortable Lin Duxi had looked moments ago. She sat behind Lin Duxi and patted her own thighs. Lin Duxi leaned against her lap.
An Yu placed her hands on Lin Duxi’s shoulders, massaging gently. Lin Duxi relaxed, all her fatigue melting away, letting out soft moans between clenched teeth.
“How’s my technique, Lin Lao?”
Lin Duxi, eyes closed, pulled back from her blissful state just enough to reply, “Not bad.”
An Yu laughed softly and continued the massage, nearly forgetting the techniques she had learned at a massage parlor. Now, she could put them to good use.
Lin Duxi was so relaxed she could hardly concentrate, her drowsy consciousness clinging to the world just enough to stay aware.
Raising her hand, Lin Duxi pressed An Yu’s hands on her head: “Let’s soak together.”
An Yu, respecting her wish, left the fruit by the poolside and entered the water. The hot springs were magical—An Yu immediately felt her body release all tension. Leaning on the pool’s edge, she felt herself drifting, barely aware of the water around her.
Soft lips touched her skin. An Yu instinctively tilted her head in response, but the kisses wandered to her cheeks, ears, and neck. One hand caressed her other cheek, fingers tracing her earlobe, hair brushing against her skin, tickling slightly.
An Yu closed her eyes, inhaling the faint scent. The hot air made her breathless. Though the water felt burning, she didn’t open her eyes, thinking she was dreaming.
Until fingertips grazed her, and soft sounds invaded her ear. An Yu startled awake, only to see a face so stunning it took her breath away.
Lin Duxi looked at her, smiling slowly, lips slightly trembling, her lazy, husky voice whispering in her ear:
“You’re awake—I thought you’d sleep a bit more.”
She took An Yu’s wrist, exposing it above the water, and gently bit the pruned finger.
Somehow, An Yu sensed a hint of regret in her tone.
She realized the closeness they shared. Lin Duxi had already straddled her lap, looking innocently into her eyes.
Lin Duxi’s beauty was impossible to conceal; the steam softened her sharp features. Her hair pinned behind her ears, eyes glistening, almost mesmerizing An Yu.
“No,” An Yu shook her head firmly, ignoring Lin Duxi’s plea. “The water is dirty.”
Lin Duxi’s smile faded instantly, a small cloud forming between her brows.
Her sudden reaction was adorable, making An Yu laugh, replying,
“But kissing is allowed.”
Lin Duxi’s eyes lit up again. She drew An Yu’s neck close, leaning in to kiss her.
How they left the hot springs remained a blur. Their minds were steamed, yet they remembered to shower before returning to bed.
Outside, the snow had fallen for two days without stopping, seemingly increasing in intensity. Clean ground was once again covered in thick snow. The wind howled, blowing flakes against the glass, carrying a biting chill.
Inside, the warmth and humidity left traces on the glass, which appeared and disappeared with the wind.
The morning sun finally shone after a night of heavy snow. Curtains forgotten, sunlight streamed through the window, casting a beam across the bed.
Lin Duxi instinctively raised a hand, realizing An Yu was no longer beside her.
Sitting up, she scanned the room. Memories of last night rushed back like a tide. She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts, but her gaze couldn’t help falling outside.
The courtyard was clean—at least, it seemed that way. Lin Duxi noticed An Yu outside, bundled in a thick coat, clumsily rolling a snowball. Beside her, a nearly completed snowman stood.
Lin Duxi couldn’t help but smile.
Noticing her gaze, An Yu turned, locking eyes with Lin Duxi. She raised her eyes and waved, only to see Lin Duxi turn and leave immediately, not even leaving her back visible.
An Yu froze, heart racing. She must have overdone it last night; Lin Duxi was clearly upset.
She had planned to make a snowman as a surprise, but it was ruined. Rolling snowballs, she thought of another way to cheer Lin Duxi up.
Footsteps crunched behind her. An Yu turned to see Lin Duxi fully dressed, holding a red scarf.
Walking up, she noticed An Yu staring in confusion. The exposed skin on her face flushed red in the cold, which Lin Duxi could feel just standing close. She frowned, annoyed but cute.
Wrapping the scarf around An Yu’s neck, she asked in a slightly husky, teasing voice: “Aren’t you cold?”
An Yu shook her head, smiling. “Not anymore.”
Lin Duxi’s heart felt like it had fallen into honey—both angry and delighted. She took An Yu’s hands, feeling the cold, and warmed them in her pockets.
Once An Yu’s hands regained warmth, Lin Duxi released them, and the two continued rolling snowballs.
They finished the snowman quickly. An Yu picked up stones for the eyes and mouth and a few twigs for the ears. She draped her scarf on it, and Lin Duxi removed hers so both of them could wear it together.
Looking at the completed snowman, they smiled at each other and fell backward into the snow.
Holding hands, heads tilted toward each other, love overflowing from their eyes, as if the world contained only them.
“Let’s go back and rest.”
“But I’m not sleepy.”
“Then stay here!”
“No, I want to sleep.”
