A Guide to Capturing the Gentle Older Sister - Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Mi Shushu was unusually calm throughout the journey.
In Nancheng during September, the weather gradually turns cool and the breeze is gentle. The dense shade of the plane trees embraces the moonlight, scattering dappled light through the gaps onto the ground like teardrops shed inadvertently.
Yu Weiwei stood under a streetlamp holding her jacket, watching the couple—childhood sweethearts—argue in the shadows.
The boy spread his arms, trying to rest them on the girl’s shoulders, but was heartlessly dodged. He pleaded in a low voice.
“Shushu, you have to believe me. Nothing happened between me and her. Don’t be so sensitive. Is it really true that once a boy and girl start dating, they can’t even have normal interactions with the opposite sex anymore? I can’t completely give up having a world of my own…”
Mi Shushu crossed her arms over her chest, tilting her chin up as she listened to his “dog barking.”
“Hey, Shushu, say something. Can you please stop being like this all the time? Do I fucking owe you?” The boy’s eyes suddenly turned bloodshot, and his voice inevitably grew louder. “I’m really tired. Why do you always live in your own world like a princess? No one is obligated to revolve around you in your world, okay?”
“I have my own emotional needs too, I need companionship. She does all of those things better than you, yet I still never thought about breaking up with you. Isn’t that enough?”
Even Yu Weiwei’s fists tightened as she listened, wanting to give him a few hits.
Fortunately, Mi Shushu’s reaction was faster than hers.
Mi Shushu had brought a pair of high heels from school, which she had changed into right before getting out of the taxi specifically for this moment. Her height, which once fit perfectly into the boy’s embrace, was now used for a clean and decisive kick as she raised her foot.
The boy wasn’t prepared for her sudden move and cried out in pain.
“Mi Shushu, are you crazy?”
The only response he received was a series of emotional, heavy kicks. Mi Shushu didn’t say another word to him.
The boy grew angry too and subconsciously grabbed Mi Shushu’s wrist to restrain her: “Do you have to make things look so ugly?”
Yu Weiwei was almost moved to angry laughter and rushed forward to push him away.
“What are you barking about? You didn’t think it looked ‘ugly’ when you were cheating. Disgusting.”
The boy rolled his eyes: “What goes on between us is none of your business. It’s you women who stir up trouble behind the scenes.”
“Shushu, can you stop making a scene?”
Yu Weiwei’s teeth itched with irritation. Previously he had seemed decent enough, but now it appeared that a dog is a dog, even turning around to bite the one who was wronged.
Mi Shushu pulled her back, her cold gaze finally landing on the man in front of her.
“I didn’t come here to listen to you bark. I came here today just to give you a beating.”
With an expressionless face, she dialed the number to call for her back-up.
Looking at Mi Shushu’s reddened eyes and resolute face, Yu Weiwei felt for a moment that she was both strong and fragile. She thought of Kuang Yao, whose love was unrequited, and Mi Shushu, whose long-time partner had changed his heart. A wave of sadness suddenly hit her, mourning how their paths in love were always so rocky.
If love hurts this much, why do so many people still fly into the flame like moths?
But in this moment, she only held Mi Shushu’s hand tightly to give her strength, telling her: I am always here.
The two of them watched together as the scumbag was surrounded and beaten. At first, the man tried to reason his way out, but later his shouting became more and more foul. It turned out that this usually silent man had been suppressing so much resentment.
Yu Weiwei couldn’t help but grip Mi Shushu’s hand tighter and tighter.
Mi Shushu, however, arched her eyebrows and gave her a brilliant smile.
“Don’t worry about me. Have you forgotten? For us Aquarians, we can pick up love and put it down just as easily. I really did come here to beat him up to vent my anger. It’s reasonable to be blind once in a while, right?”
Under the moonlight, Yu Weiwei clearly saw the glint of tears sliding from the corners of her eyes.
However, she only spoke in a relaxed tone: “If food falls on the floor, you can’t eat it after five seconds. For men, it only takes three.”
“You’ve truly inherited my teachings,” Mi Shushu patted her head.
However, in the next second, they were taken into the police station along with the scumbag.
The two of them blinked their identical large, watery eyes, sitting upright, looking at the beautiful policewoman with an innocent and pure demeanor.
Policewoman: I really can’t tell that they were just instructing others to gang up on the victim.
Beating up a scumbag—the local police station had seen more than enough of these kinds of disputes. If their station filmed a show like “The Guardians of Jiefang West,” there certainly wouldn’t be a lack of highlights.
The beautiful policewoman on the midnight shift was well-versed in the routine.
“Listen, you young people should communicate properly when things happen. Try to reach a settlement with the other party first. If the other party insists on pressing charges, you will be punished.”
After all, when they arrived at the scene, the one-sided advantage had been far too obvious.
“Okay, Sister. Thank you for your hard work, having to mediate so late at night.” The two of them bowed with excellent attitudes, nodding their heads like chickens pecking at grain.
Then they began to look at each other.
Yu Weiwei: What do we do?
Mi Shushu: I will never bow my head to a scumbag.
Yu Weiwei: Then we…
Mi Shushu: Wait, let me try to call a professional to bail us out.
Yu Weiwei: A professional?
Wait… I think I…
As if possessed, Yu Weiwei pulled out her phone and opened the chat box that hadn’t been touched for several days.
Over on the other side, Jiang Wu received a message from the contact labeled “Little Friend”:
A chubby white bunny looking up and blinking innocent eyes.
“Sister, save me.”
