A Fatal Attraction from Lawyer A - Chapter 10
“Um… Little President Luo, it’s ten o’clock. Our meeting is about to start.” Xu Wen stood outside the door of the CEO’s office lounge. He didn’t dare knock, only whispering to remind his Little President Luo that it was time for the meeting.
Meanwhile, on the large bed in the lounge—
Luo Panzhi looked down at Gu Yuxi, whose breathing had finally stabilized in the crook of his arm. He carefully moved Gu Yuxi’s head back onto the pillow, then placed the back of his hand on the man’s forehead. Feeling that it was no longer scalding but back to a normal temperature, he finally got out of bed.
He stood by the bedside, tidying his ruffled shirt. An indistinct hickey marked his neck. He remembered how smoothly the man had clung to him the moment he felt Luo Panzhi’s embrace. He was truly skilled.
He wondered how many times Gu Yuxi had practiced that clingy technique with that other Alpha.
So, he was indeed a used product.
He would settle the score later; today was not the day.
“Lawyer Gu, this is the only time.”
The lounge door opened and closed. Luo Panzhi’s expression returned to its cold indifference; he was once again the highly respected Little President Luo of the corporation.
He was absolutely not the Alpha who had just been coaxing someone to sleep.
Xu Wen breathed a sigh of relief when Luo Panzhi emerged. Just as he was about to speak, Luo Panzhi shot him a cold look, which instantly sealed his lips.
“You’re too noisy. Speak softer.” Luo Panzhi passed Xu Wen expressionlessly and left the office.
Xu Wen: “???” He hadn’t even said anything yet! Fighting back tears, he hurried to follow. Truly, serving the boss is like attending a tiger.
In the hallway on the way to the conference room, Luo Panzhi suddenly thought of something. He glanced sideways at Xu Wen. “Help me look into Gu Yuxi’s activities last weekend: where he went, what he did, who he was with, what happened, and if he has a boyfriend. Get it to me this afternoon.”
Xu Wen didn’t dare ask for details. He simply nodded. “Yes, Little President Luo.”
“Also, notify the secretarial department not to knock on my office door today,” Luo Panzhi said faintly. “Whoever wakes him up is going to be dead.”
With that, he straightened his back and strode into the conference room.
Xu Wen felt he had stumbled upon a shocking secret.
Their Little President Luo, who was typically like winter year-round, might finally be greeting a rare spring.
In the lounge, Gu Yuxi slowly opened his eyes. It felt like he’d had a dream. He stared blankly at the ceiling, then surveyed his surroundings, guessing he was in the lounge of Luo Panzhi’s office. He pulled at his collar and brought it close to his nose; it was Luo Panzhi’s highly concentrated Alpha pheromone.
Suddenly remembering something, he shot up into a sitting position.
The rush caused a dizzy spell, and his face instantly paled.
He looked down at his shirt. It was messy, crumpled, and even unbuttoned, with a few buttons completely missing. He fully recalled what he had said and done in front of Luo Panzhi.
Utterly shameless. Completely unlike himself.
As if struck by lightning, his face filled with shame and annoyance. He held his head, cursing himself under his breath.
“…I must be crazy.”
Having an episode right in front of Luo Panzhi.
He really shouldn’t have listened to Qi Lin and watched that video, which was supposed to alleviate his pheromone agitation. Who knew it would make him even more agitated? He had spent the entire weekend fighting the rising pheromone concentration.
He had brought this torment upon himself.
Luo Panzhi probably hated him even more now.
He rubbed his face in frustration.
Just as he lifted the quilt to get out of bed, he noticed a silver-gray suit placed by the bedside. A white shirt had also thoughtfully been provided. His pupils constricted. Guessing who it was from, he reached for them.
The moment he picked up the shirt, Luo Panzhi’s faint pheromone scent wafted into his nose. On impulse, he buried his face in the white shirt.
The mellow tea fragrance of Oolong-Brandy lingered in his nostrils, carrying a deeply romantic tenderness, clinging to his sense of smell. Just like before, he was enveloped by the Alpha pheromones—satisfied, blissful, and greedily reaching for more.
He had heard Luo Panzhi call him shameless, and he admitted it now. When faced with such pheromones, with his rationality collapsed, he truly didn’t know what shame was.
His image was ruined. So be it.
Call him whatever they want. He was simply greedy.
Greedy for this Alpha pheromone.
Gu Yuxi stood by the bed, shed his torn shirt, and put on Luo Panzhi’s shirt. The shirt fit him perfectly, as if it were custom-made just for him. He then put on the silver-gray suit, slowly buttoning it up and adjusting the cufflinks.
His entire body felt as if it were being embraced by Luo Panzhi.
That Oolong-Brandy Alpha pheromone was strong and dominant, concealing an elusive tenderness.
He regretted it.
He shouldn’t have lied to Luo Panzhi.
Luo Panzhi was straightforward and upright. He felt he had betrayed that genuine regard, relying on his perceived advantage to try and mask his intentions. If he had been honest, he knew Luo Panzhi’s character; he wouldn’t have disliked him.
But he chose to do the very thing Luo Panzhi hated.
So, what should he do now?
Was there still a chance to make amends?
He picked up his gold-rimmed glasses from the bedside table and put them on.
It was already eleven o’clock when he woke up. Gu Yuxi wasn’t sure if he had missed the meeting. When he pushed open the CEO’s office door, the secretary by the entrance shot up nervously, staring at him. He was momentarily confused. What was wrong?
“Lawyer Gu, d-did I wake you up?” The secretary stared at Gu Yuxi anxiously, terrified that her earlier chatter had woken him. If Little President Luo found out, she would be finished.
Gu Yuxi shook his head. “No.”
The secretary instantly relaxed, patting her chest. “Phew, that’s good, that’s good. You scared me! I thought I had woken you up, Lawyer Gu.”
“What’s going on?” Gu Yuxi asked, intrigued.
“Little President Luo instructed us just now that if we woke you up, we’d be dead. Fired, and possibly blacklisted from ever finding a job again. So, we’ve all been trying to keep our voices down, just in case we woke you up, Lawyer Gu.” The secretary looked at the suit Gu Yuxi was wearing, thought she was mistaken, then stared again. “Huh? Lawyer Gu, are you wearing Little President Luo’s suit?”
She didn’t know that Luo Panzhi had carried the man into the office earlier, only thinking Gu Yuxi was simply taking a rest.
But looking at him now…
Something must have happened, right?
Sure enough, her Omega nose caught an unusual Alpha scent. Due to the effects of the scent blocker, the Alpha pheromones were faint, like Oolong tea.
Wasn’t that their Little President Luo’s pheromone?!
Woohoo~
Gu Yuxi’s eyes subtly flickered when he heard the secretary’s words. His emotions rippled. Luo Panzhi instructed the secretaries not to wake him, and even said something like that?
“He said that?”
Inexplicably, an indescribable sense of joy and unknown emotional stirring rose from the depths of his heart. It was a satisfaction greater than what he felt sitting in his office, observing his young boss through the one-way mirror.
The secretary gave a gossipy smile. She hadn’t expected Lawyer Gu to be so approachable today, completely igniting her passion for gossip. “Lawyer Gu, does Little President Luo like you?”
Gu Yuxi was stunned. Generally speaking, apart from his special circumstances, it was very difficult for Alpha-on-Alpha attraction to occur. This was genetically determined repulsion, an unavoidable existence. So why?
“We used to wildly guess that Little President Luo might like his brother and just decided to stay celibate since he couldn’t have him. But now it seems that’s not the case. We’ve never seen Little President Luo allow any employee to sleep during work hours, especially not in his office, and you’re wearing his suit.”
“Is there any significance to wearing his suit?” Gu Yuxi’s mind was filled with regret over what he had said last Friday.
“That suit fits so well. Lawyer Gu, you look like you were custom-made for Little President Luo. Of course, I’m just kidding.”
Kidding?
Gu Yuxi smiled faintly, lowering his head. “Okay, I understand. Thank you.”
To be precise, Luo Panzhi felt like he was custom-made for him.
In the gene bank, the world’s first case of 100% Alpha-Alpha pheromone match was between him and Luo Panzhi.
The secretary was utterly charmed by Gu Yuxi’s smile. My goodness, she actually saw Lawyer Gu smile! When this cold, reserved man smiled, he was too handsome!!! Handsome enough to make you give up your life for him.
No wonder Little President Luo was confused.
It was no one’s fault. If anyone was to blame, it was Lawyer Gu for being too good-looking.
The devastating effect of that face, combined with that smile, completely melted her heart, making her feel like any mistake would be forgiven.
Even if he was an Alpha, it was no wonder Little President Luo couldn’t resist.
Author’s Note:
Assistant Xu Wen: No one is allowed to wake Lawyer Gu. Little President Luo said if anyone wakes him up, we’re dead.
Secretarial Department: We must not wake Lawyer Gu. Little President Luo said if we wake him up, we’ll be fired and never find a job again!
What reached other employees’ ears: We must not casually stare at Lawyer Gu, or Little President Luo will kill us.
Luo Panzhi: I don’t need wingmen, okay? I can use my own strength to make Lawyer Gu break up with his boyfriend, okay?
