A Fatal Attraction from Lawyer A - Chapter 9
Luo Panzhi lifted the unconscious Gu Yuxi into his arms, adjusting his balance with a slight bounce. He immediately felt the man’s head rest in the hollow of his shoulder, his lips pressed against Luo Panzhi’s neck, where his scorching breath landed completely.
The restless Vanilla-Juliet pheromones began to release again, like a rose climbing a vine—once nourished, it begins to frantically climb.
Who the vine was and who the rose was became self-evident.
He turned his face away, his jawline tense, his Adam’s apple bobbing, trying his best not to look. Then, holding Gu Yuxi, he returned to his office, entered the lounge, and closed the door with his foot.
The curtains in the lounge were not drawn, making the room dim. The weak yet agitated Alpha pheromones began to surge wantonly, inescapable, filling the room and overwhelmingly enveloping the other Alpha.
Luo Panzhi unceremoniously dropped Gu Yuxi onto the bed. He then stood by the bedside, one hand on his hip, the other tearing at his collar, tilting his head back for a deep breath.
“…Hot.”
A stir came from the bed. He looked over in his peripheral vision and his expression froze.
He saw Gu Yuxi on the bed starting to restlessly torment himself again, now tugging at the metal buttons. Perhaps unable to unfasten them, he was wrestling with himself, or maybe he was simply overcome by the heat. His fair skin was stained with a crimson flush that covered every visible spot.
Against the dark sheets, this kind of Alpha was truly a feast for the eyes.
Luo Panzhi watched expressionlessly, his Adam’s apple bobbing. If he didn’t do something soon, he suspected Gu Yuxi would genuinely take care of himself right there in front of him. Just as Dr. Su had said, any physical or fluid contact could alleviate the rising concentration of pheromones.
If he truly weren’t an honorable gentleman—if he genuinely wanted to play the game of forceful seizure and possession—he could unbuckle his own waistband right now and take Gu Yuxi, regardless of whether the man had a boyfriend or not. Wasn’t dating someone else’s man even more stimulating and fun?
But the education he received was not like that.
Nurtured by his fathers’ love since childhood, he knew what love truly was: care and respect were its most basic elements, along with a sense of ceremony in love—never impulsive.
So he never chose convenience; he chose to wait.
But the Alpha he happened to like was constantly provoking him and even had a boyfriend. What was this? Wasn’t he just playing with him?
Just as he was contemplating a way to alleviate Gu Yuxi’s condition, a scorching hand gripped his wrist.
“…Luo Panzhi.”
Luo Panzhi looked down lightly, meeting the damp, open eyes of Gu Yuxi on the edge of the bed. He didn’t shake off his hand. “Why are you calling me?”
“…Hold me.”
The pleading voice was choked and trembling. Luo Panzhi felt the tight nerves in his head violently shake. He took a sharp, deep breath, intending to shake off Gu Yuxi’s hand.
Unexpectedly, the man yanked him onto the bed. Caught off guard, he was pulled to the side, his upper body landing directly on the mattress. Then he saw Gu Yuxi swing a long leg over, pressing down on him, hands bracing next to Luo Panzhi’s face, pinning his hands above his head.
The breathing above him was ragged, each inhale and exhale heavy.
Luo Panzhi had grown up witnessing many major events from his fathers’ side; he had seen everything in the world since childhood. The only sight he hadn’t seen was this kind of feast for the eyes, let alone the current situation of the tyrant forcing himself upon the hook.
He had never seen this before.
“Gu Yuxi, don’t be a pervert.”
Luo Panzhi tried to break free from Gu Yuxi’s grip, but the man’s legs were pressed against his shins. He could feel the curve of Gu Yuxi’s rear pressing into his thigh, a posture that prevented him from forcefully escaping.
“I want to.”
When a drop of slightly cool sweat landed on his lips, it was as if a switch had been flipped. Luo Panzhi froze, looking up blankly.
Gu Yuxi above him was clearly consumed by passion. His handsome face was flushed crimson. The restrained, suppressed sweat pooled on his skin and dripped down his jawline. His arms braced near Luo Panzhi’s face were strong. The Alpha hormones were intense, both seductive and full of wildness.
The eyes staring at him were misty and deep with feeling.
Luo Panzhi gazed at the drop of sweat gathering on Gu Yuxi’s chin, about to fall, and his heart trembled.
How could this man maintain a cool facade yet be so incredibly sexy in this moment?
Before he could react, he was kissed.
The two Alpha pheromones powerfully mingled without a hint of rejection, even generating a deep, gentle sweetness within the small confines of the lounge.
But Gu Yuxi still felt it wasn’t enough, burying his head to bite Luo Panzhi’s neck.
“Ouch! Gu Yuxi, are you a dog?!”
Seeing a chance to break free, Luo Panzhi immediately grabbed Gu Yuxi’s shoulders, flipped over, and pinned the man beneath him. He then forcefully pressed Gu Yuxi’s shoulders down, preventing the man from kissing him again.
Gu Yuxi’s rationality had completely dissolved. He began to feel as though he were dreaming, dreaming that he was passionately intimate with Luo Panzhi. His eyes were wet and unfocused. Looking at Luo Panzhi on top of him, he let out a hoarse laugh.
“Little President Luo, you smell so good. I love your pheromones too much.” As he spoke, he tried to lift his chin to kiss Luo Panzhi again.
This sentence completely sobered Luo Panzhi’s mind. He finally understood why Gu Yuxi was always subtly flirting with him: It was better to have a living person than an injection.
That is to say, the pseudo-Alpha component in the aphrodisiac Gu Yuxi had injected was likely his pheromone.
No, not likely—definitely.
Luo Panzhi’s face darkened. He grabbed the thin quilt nearby and wrapped the unruly man up, swaddling him tightly so no inch of skin was exposed. Then, he pinned Gu Yuxi down by clamping his legs around him over the quilt, stopping him from moving further.
“…Little President Luo, so tight.”
Luo Panzhi heard the huskiness in Gu Yuxi’s voice and wished he could knock the man out. “Be quiet!”
“You’re hugging too hard.” Gu Yuxi couldn’t break free from the powerful embrace. The desired Alpha pheromones lingered around his nose, causing him to relax further, his eyelids gradually growing heavy.
“Or should I give you an opportunity? You have a boyfriend, after all.”
“I don’t…” Gu Yuxi was about to explain, but the exhaustion from the intense consumption was too great. His eyelids fully closed, and he fell asleep.
Don’t?
Luo Panzhi keenly caught the word. Don’t what?
Don’t have a boyfriend?
Was the previous incident a lie?
So, was this his way of opening up, telling him that all the watching, hooking, and tempting was actually because he liked him?
“Lawyer Gu, don’t what?” Luo Panzhi lowered his head to ask, but the only reply he received was Gu Yuxi’s steady breathing. His expression gradually turned serious, as if he were analyzing something.
Wait! If Gu Yuxi truly didn’t have a boyfriend, how could he be so incredibly skillful just now?!
He was so scared he didn’t dare move!
The more Luo Panzhi thought about it, the angrier he became. Was he just a used product? Gu Yuxi only liked his pheromones, and his heart belonged to another man.
After kissing and biting him, he just irresponsibly fell asleep?!
Scumbag!
Unable to contain his anger, he viciously pinched Gu Yuxi’s nose.
“Hmm…” Gu Yuxi gasped for breath, tilting his head slightly. Physiological tears welled in the corners of his eyes, as if he were suffocating and struggling.
Luo Panzhi’s expression faltered, and he slowly released his hand.
Gu Yuxi, however, began to feel restless. His body curled up, his brows furrowed, and he let out uncomfortable muffled sounds.
Luo Panzhi let out a cold snort, forcefully hugging the man, quilt and all, to his chest, gently patting his arm. But as he lulled the man to sleep, an undetectable tenderness surfaced in his eyes—a softness he hadn’t even noticed himself.
He didn’t know how long he stared at that face. Eventually, he forced himself to look away.
He began to tell himself that he couldn’t be so weak, couldn’t compromise.
He couldn’t let himself be wronged.
He couldn’t…
Completely unaware, he silently drifted back to staring at Gu Yuxi’s sleeping face. This Alpha was simply too handsome.
