A Delicate Beauty Holding a Villain’s Script - Chapter 6
The textbook assigned by the professor was thick, but its broad coverage was perfect for Li Rangnian to understand this world. Beyond the ABO setting, the world included interstellar elements, spaceships, mechs, and optical computers were commonplace.
The existence of “Xenomorphs” remained a mystery in the plot. No one knew their origin, but they first appeared on trash planets. Their appearance was grotesque, a bizarre combination of arthropods and mammals. They had high reproductive rates and weren’t picky eaters; they consumed any living organism. Their migration was like locusts sweeping through farmland, occupying a trash planet in a short time before spreading outward.
Their primary attack involved spitting a dark green toxic liquid to paralyze enemies before seizing them with long abdominal appendages. This was a major reason the Federation prioritized mech design; the hard shells and performance of mechs could easily withstand these attacks. Fortunately, they hadn’t evolved yet; their intelligence was comparable to human infants, making them relatively simple to clear. However, their sheer numbers and keen sense of smell made them a persistent threat.
The Federation had established an armed military to clear them from the front lines. Recently, despite the suppression, some had managed to infiltrate human settlements, causing casualties.
“Whew…”
Having grasped the background, Li Rangnian took a deep breath and finally looked at the person beside him. Shen Yiqing was resting quietly on the desk, his face buried in his arms, breathing softly.
The Protagonist Shou fell asleep? Just how long have I been reading?
Li Rangnian glanced at the professor, who seemed indifferent to students sleeping, continuing the lecture as if nothing were amiss. Looking around, most Omegas were either playing with their optical computers or whispering; none were paying attention. It wasn’t entirely their fault, most Omegas were expected to marry and become homemakers after graduation, making higher education seem redundant to them. No wonder the Protagonist Shou was desperate to ruin his arranged marriage.
Bored, Li Rangnian stifled a small yawn. Tears instantly filled his eyes, wetting his lashes. “System, I’m going to sleep for a bit. Wake me up when class is over,” he instructed as he leaned onto his arms and closed his eyes.
The “sleeping” Shen Yiqing’s fingers twitched. He silently lifted his head, his eyes clear and devoid of any drowsiness. The Alpha lay there defenseless, half his face buried in his arm, looking quiet and serene. His fine hair was messy against his cheek, and his delicate nose traced a soft arc down to full, crimson lips.
Shen Yiqing’s throat moved. He stared at the beauty, his eyes churning like dark ink. Finally, taking advantage of the lack of attention, he lowered his head toward the Alpha’s nape.
He had noticed long ago that the Alpha’s neck was as graceful and slender as a swan’s, fair and fragile. The slight protrusion at the nape emitted a faint sweetness, like a strawberry cake. It was a Pandora’s box, releasing a soul-stirring spell. His nose was nearly touching the gland, but only nearly. He used all his strength to hold back from biting, taking a deep breath as if satisfying an addiction.
In this world, kissing or biting the gland was an act of extreme intimacy, implying a sexual invitation. Shen Yiqing forcibly tore his sticky gaze away from the neck and moved it to the Alpha’s lips. The shape was beautiful, and the moist red of the center was an invitation to explore.
With dark eyes, Shen Yiqing extended a fingertip and pressed it against the lip, easily parting the “juicy fruit.” Feeling the moisture on his finger, his breathing grew heavy. After a subtle sound of moisture, Shen Yiqing stared at his hand in a daze, an ambiguous silver thread connecting his fingers.
In the next second, he lowered his head and licked it clean without hesitation. The unique taste of the Alpha spread through his mouth. His face flushed and his eyes shone as he stared at the Alpha, unable to get enough.
051, witnessing everything: …Wait, I can literally see the word ‘PERVERT’ written all over the Protagonist Shou’s face! 051 was in a panic. Should I tell the Host? In its internal struggle, 051 didn’t even notice class had ended.
Shen Yiqing reached out and gently poked the Alpha’s fair cheek. Seeing no reaction, he pinched it. The skin was smooth and felt wonderful to the touch. The Alpha finally woke up from the persistent pestering. His lashes fluttered open to reveal eyes like autumn pools, misty and unfocused. Without even seeing who it was, he instinctively grumbled in a spoiled tone, “Agh… why are you annoying me… I hate it…”
Shen Yiqing’s heart skipped a beat. He stroked the youth’s head to soothe him, his voice dropping low: “Sweetheart, my fault. Don’t be angry.”
Li Rangnian’s skin was delicate, and even a short nap had left red marks on his cheek. He stared blankly at Shen Yiqing, still dazed.
(Ahhh! So cute!) 051’s heart melted, and the idea of “reporting” was thrown to the wind. It flew over and rubbed against the beauty’s face.
Li Rangnian saw a fat ball rubbing against him and making weird noises. …This one is beyond help.
He shook himself awake and ignored the system, looking around to see only a few people left. “Where did everyone go?”
Shen Yiqing, still savoring the previous sensation, replied, “The next period is a lab class at the specialized drug base.”
Li Rangnian immediately tried to stand, but his rested body was still soft. His vision blurred, and his legs gave out, sending him plumping back into the chair. He was furious, this body was way too weak!
Shen Yiqing, who had stepped into the aisle to wait, saw the Alpha sit back down with a shocked expression. So cute! It was like an arrow to the heart. He smiled warmly. “Never mind, shall I help you?”
The Alpha Combat Training Hall
At the Binhai Campus, management of AOs was strict; their classes were staggered and rarely held together. In the gymnasium, a dozen small competitive stages were set up for Alpha combat training.
Dozens of Alphas stood in perfect military posture. At the front, a fierce, muscular Alpha instructor paced back and forth, shouting, “I know you’re young and arrogant, thinking you’re top-tier! I don’t care how you act normally, but under me, you obey! Anyone who disagrees, step out, I’ll teach you some ‘reason’!”
Seeing no one speak, he continued, “Fine. Everyone, pair up. Two to a group, get on the stage!”
Violence was etched into the DNA of most Alphas. The crowd erupted into excitement. Qin Yuan stood with one hand in his pocket, expressionless, looking for a worthy opponent. He felt a provocative gaze and looked up to see Xiao Jinyun giving him a cold smirk, mouthing: Want to go around?
Qin Yuan suddenly remembered the other was Li Rangnian’s roommate. A vision of the beauty’s smile and the scent of strawberries filled his mind. I haven’t seen Li-mei in a while; I wonder if he’s being bullied.
Pushing the thought aside, Qin Yuan walked to the nearest stage. Xiao Jinyun followed and stood opposite him. In a match, they had to use legitimate means to knock the opponent down. If the opponent couldn’t get up by the end of the countdown, it was a victory.
The whistle blew, and the gym filled with the sound of “bang bang bang” as fists hit flesh. Qin Yuan had mastered fighting techniques, but he didn’t underestimate his opponent. However, the rank difference eventually showed. While Xiao Jinyun could hold his own initially, he was eventually forced into a defensive position.
With a loud crash, Xiao Jinyun’s head hit the floor. Blood flowed, and Qin Yuan stepped heavily onto his hand, grinding his fingers one by one. The higher-ranked Alpha looked down at the pathetic figure beneath him and smiled carelessly.
“Countdown! Ten, nine, eight…”
Xiao Jinyun was pinned by the sheer weight of the pressure Qin Yuan released, unable to move a finger. He stared up, spitting blood. He used to think ranks didn’t matter if one was talented, but today he realized the massive gap. He watched as Qin Yuan’s lips moved silently, uttering words that made his eyes widen with rage:
“Stay away from Li-mei. You’re not worthy of being by his side.”
Qin Yuan stepped off the stage, ignoring the Alpha who was on the verge of a breakdown.
“Three, two, one! Stop!” The medical staff rushed in to carry off the fallen on stretchers.
The instructor looked at the winners, most were battered and bruised. His eyes landed on Qin Yuan, who stood to the side, handsome, sharp, and completely unscathed. The instructor disliked this lack of “struggle.” “Don’t get cocky! Winners, pair up again. Back on the stage!”
The gymnasium once again erupted into chaos.
