- Chapter 18 - The Sickly Alpha Who Sows Discord (Part 18)
At this moment, he lowered his eyes and leaned down slightly, gazing intently at the person before him. His thin lips parted slightly: “How could Little Li think of me that way?”
An expression of slight grievance appeared on the face of this extraordinarily handsome man one that could instantly charm ten thousand Omegas.
Li Rangnian was no exception. He was stunned for a moment, and his tone involuntarily softened. “Then why did you run all the way here…”
“Because I wanted to see you, of course. I specifically took leave.” Qin Yuan pulled him into his arms, resting his chin on the fluffy top of the other’s head and nuzzling it as his eyes squinted shut.
It was a lie. He had pulled the power to the training grounds and smashed through a glass window to escape while the surveillance went dark.
He had only just returned to the main house a short while ago, and the scars on his back from the lashing he received hadn’t even fully healed. Qin Yuan was never one to use a healing pod; that would only lower his pain tolerance and create a dependency on external aids.
Yet, he was like a reckless young man caught in the throes of first love holding out a scorching heart and ignoring all obstacles just to run toward his lover.
“…” Li Rangnian felt the credibility of his words was extremely low, but he still patiently let the man hold him for a long time.
The night wind rustled the leaves, carrying a hint of chill. Wrapped in the Alpha’s trench coat and held in his arms, he only felt a comfortable body temperature, warm and reassuring.
“A foul stench… it’s Shen Yiqing again…” Qin Yuan buried his head in the crook of the beauty’s neck, his voice muffled and sounding unhappy.
He was likely gritting his teeth hard enough to break them.
Li Rangnian’s heart softened. He cupped the man’s face and took the initiative to give him a kiss. The dragonfly-touch of a kiss felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, leaving the aggrieved Alpha unable to move.
“Alright, what is there for you two to fight about? Is one kiss enough?”
“…” After the initial daze, Qin Yuan was filled with ecstasy. The trace of jealousy was tossed to the back of his mind as he grabbed Li Rangnian’s hand before it could be withdrawn. He pressed his lips down, kissing him with urgency.
The beauty, unable to catch his breath from the kiss, finally couldn’t take it anymore. He huffed and pounded on the man’s chest. The full pectoral muscles felt excellent to the touch, but he ended up hurting his own hand instead.
Qin Yuan gave a low laugh, his sharp features softening with a hint of springtime charm. His gaze was one of naked provocation as he leaned down to lick each of the beauty’s fingers one by one, the wet sounds distinct.
What’s going on? The protagonist Alpha is too sexy tonight; I can’t handle this at all, Li Rangnian thought sluggishly while being kissed into a daze.
The sky had darkened, and the dim yellow glow of the streetlights cast a lingering shadow over the two of them. The atmosphere was perfect.
After lingering for a long time, Qin Yuan suddenly spoke: “Little Li, want to go see a mecha?”
“A mecha?” Li Rangnian’s eyes lit up. This was something that only appeared in the later stages of the original plot. “Is that allowed?”
“It is. Hold me tight.”
The Alpha’s physique was naturally athletic and tall, his arms sturdy and powerful. A bridal carry was effortless. Li Rangnian was pressed entirely into the warm embrace, his arms looped around the man’s neck while his legs dangled in mid-air, swinging back and forth like a cute little pendant.
Qin Yuan stuck to secluded paths, avoiding everyone along the way, and brought him to the Academy’s Practice Center. He explained: “This was funded and built by the Qin family, so I have partial authorization to enter.”
It was a magnificent domed building with a silver shell. Only a tiny portion was exposed above ground, while the rest was hidden beneath the earth, like a giant beast crouching in the dark.
The sealed doors slid open to both sides, and the two entered a world filled with technology and brilliant white light.
Rows of giant display platforms stood there, with mechas like mechanical giants standing guard various models and different colors, looking like the most loyal of sentinels.
“Good evening, Student Qin.” A mechanical arm standing to the side gave a human-like greeting while taking the trench coat from Qin Yuan’s shoulders to hang it up.
Every platform in the hall lit up in sequence as they approached, and a virtual screen popped up to display the detailed information of each mecha.
Li Rangnian looked up at those great works until his neck ached, yet he still couldn’t see the mechas’ heads.
For the first time, he felt the charm of a mecha. Before these machines waiting silently for orders, they were as small as dust.
None of the mechas they passed were anything short of cool, but Qin Yuan didn’t spare them a single glance, walking straight ahead with his gaze locked on the very front position.
Li Rangnian looked over. It was a mecha with a silver-white shell. Behind its mechanical shoulders was a pair of folded flight wings, looking exceptionally sleek.
The Alpha’s voice, tinged with anticipation, reached his ears: “Model A-51, also known as Tianjiao (The Chosen). The shell is coated with [XX Material], making it impossible for Xenomorph mucus to corrode… equipped with the latest AI technology… This is a gift my family began building for me from the moment I was born.”
“It was only officially completed when I reached adulthood.” Qin Yuan set him down and straightened his back, his hand loosely circling the beauty’s waist. “So, want to try it?”
They took a lift, rising rapidly to a height of a hundred meters. A walkway automatically extended to dock at the mecha’s entrance.
Beneath their feet was a hundred-meter drop the kind of height that would make one’s legs shake with a single glance. Qin Yuan shielded Li Rangnian as they entered the cockpit. On the massive screen, strings of blue data surged rapidly. There were two empty seats, left and right, for the pilot and co-pilot.
“A normal A-rank Alpha’s mental energy cannot drive a mecha; it requires dual operation. But I only need myself.”
Therefore, the co-pilot seat had never been sat in.
Li Rangnian was gently pressed into that empty seat. The Alpha’s hand rested on his shoulder as he leaned down to watch him curiously gaze at the screen the dense parameters were incomprehensible and then at the control console filled with various complex buttons.
He was peeking around, looking a bit dazed and cute.
“It’s okay. It’s normal not to understand at first. Little Li can come learn more in the future.” Qin Yuan couldn’t help but laugh. He patted the head beneath his hand, sat back in the pilot’s seat, and pressed the red button.
A hatch opened overhead, and a pair of mechanical arms lowered two helmets connected by several neuro-transmission tubes. Qin Yuan fitted one onto him. Looking at the pair of peach-blossom eyes peeking through the gaps, filled with novelty, his heart was touched. He couldn’t resist kissing the forehead through the helmet.
Once Qin Yuan was buckled in, their brain waves resonated at the same frequency. Powerful mental energy traveled through the tubes all the way to the mecha’s energy port. Before long, storage was complete, and a brilliant blue light erupted from the chest
[Tianjiao initiated… Welcome, my Master.]
“Open all permissions to the co-pilot. Transfer operational authority,” Qin Yuan commanded calmly.
[Identity verification in progress.]
At the moment of connection, Li Rangnian miraculously discovered that his brain waves were tightly linked to the mecha. He felt as though he had become a soul injected into a mechanical shell; every movement felt incredibly real.
The sights seen by the mecha’s eyes were synchronized to his retinas as ultra-high-definition images, and his ears could clearly capture sounds from a hundred meters away. Li Rangnian raised his hand, and the mecha followed by lifting its left arm into a blocking stance; he clenched his fist, and the mecha did the same the delay was less than 0.01 seconds!
Li Rangnian was rarely this excited. His small face flushed with a layer of crimson from the thrill. His eager appearance was full of liveliness and vigor, looking incredibly cute.
Qin Yuan’s eyes held a deep smile. Seeing him so happy, he also felt a sense of joy. “If you want to control the legs, you need to stand up. Want to try?”
“Yes!” Li Rangnian practically jumped up, performing his amateur martial arts moves in the cockpit, yet the movements made by the mecha were exceptionally dashing.
He loved it! Li Rangnian’s eyes were sparkling. After moving for a while, his face was covered in sweat, and his flushed cheeks looked like translucent fruit pulp, making one want to take a bite.
Qin Yuan worried he would get tired. Once the novelty wore off, he stepped forward to remove the helmet, explaining: “Little Li, you’ve just started with mechas and don’t understand many things. Let me teach you some theoretical knowledge now.”
“Okay!” The current Li Rangnian was very obedient. He did whatever the Alpha said, keeping those sparkling eyes fixed on him the entire time. All the stars in the universe couldn’t compare to the brilliance in those eyes.
Being watched with such a gaze, even without doing anything, the Alpha felt trusted and relied upon. This sparked a possessive thought he only wanted his own reflection to be in those eyes.
Qin Yuan seemed split in two: one half appeared calm, explaining mecha knowledge to the beauty who was listening intently; the other half was noiselessly “licking” every inch of the oblivious person with a gaze that could be called offensive.
Li Rangnian should be glad this was inside the cockpit; otherwise, he would have long been pinned down and devoured by Qin Yuan.
During this time, 051 came out once, intending to land on the console, but it was hit by Qin Yuan’s seemingly perceptive gaze. Its electronic hair stood on end in terror, and it scurried back into the host’s mind to hide.
Time flew by, and soon it was late at night. Li Rangnian, who had been listening intently earlier, was now so sleepy his eyelids were fighting. He was nodding off like a little chicken pecking at grain, a sight that made one’s heart ache.
“Little Li, be good. We’ll go back and sleep, okay?” Qin Yuan pulled him into his arms, coaxing him softly in his ear. “Otherwise, you’ll catch a cold.”
“I’m so sleepy… want to sleep…” Li Rangnian was too muddled with sleep. He mumbled a few words and fell asleep peacefully in the man’s arms.
Qin Yuan was helpless. He held the person, not daring to move for fear of waking him. After a moment of thought, he simply flattened the seat and laid him on it.
Fortunately, the seat was wide enough, and since Li Rangnian liked to sleep slightly curled up, he fit perfectly.
The Alpha, having left and returned, brought back the trench coat to cover the sleeping person. The flickering blue light shone on his face one so handsome it didn’t seem mortal his deep eyes like a vast ocean.

Qin Yuan promptly closed the pop-up screen to prevent the light from disturbing Li Rangnian’s rest.
Tianjiao was not just a mecha; it was the hope of the entire Qin family for him, a confirmation of his strength, and a heavy responsibility.
The drills that began in childhood had tempered his composed character, while excessively harsh requirements had suppressed his Alpha instincts, forcing him to become a cold, unfeeling machine that only followed family orders.
And now, he was willing to share this glory with another person like a dragon offering the precious jewels he had spent so much effort gathering to the kidnapped princess.
So, don’t refuse me. Stand firmly on my side. Just wait for me to bring back the fruits of victory for you, Little Li.
The Alpha knelt on one side, lowering his head to bury his face in the beauty’s palm, remaining motionless as if he had closed his eyes.
Two Years Later.
The fifth Xenomorph riot erupted. Multiple wormholes appeared on frontier stars millions of light-years away, with a continuous stream of Xenomorphs migrating through them to launch attacks.
In just a few days, the Xenomorphs captured 21 mid-sized cities. They used the fallen areas as hatcheries; residents who didn’t evacuate in time became hosts. Their flesh was eaten from the inside out by eggs, leading to their deaths with no survivors.
The first batch of military units escorting residents were caught in the formation of a wormhole. Everyone fought to the last moment, but were ultimately devoured by the incoming Xenomorphs until not even bone fragments remained. The second batch was forced to change routes and land on a frontier star with an extremely harsh climate, suffering heavy casualties.
The military issued a Level 1 Alert, initiated large-scale conscription, and sent a large number of vanguard troops for support. These brave soldiers would take combat skiffs batch by batch through jump points to the war-torn front lines.
Preceding the soldiers were tens of thousands of cargo freighters. They carried an astounding number of mechas and combat supplies, making emergency jumps to be delivered to the logistics areas in advance.
The graduating class of the Federation’s First Military Academy graduated early. The protagonist Alpha and Omega enlisted and were assigned to the vanguard one as a ground soldier, the other as an aerial soldier.
They left so hurriedly that they didn’t even have time to say goodbye to the classmates they spent every day with.
In fact, Li Rangnian, who had been assigned to the Logistics Department by his family, left a step ahead of them. The freighter he took was loaded with five mechas, and his daily task was to check for any damaged parts.
“Little Li, rest well during this time. Don’t be afraid.” The silver-haired man on the screen had a gentle voice; his wheat-colored skin formed a sharp contrast with the crisp, white military uniform he wore. “We’ll contact each other and meet once we reach the logistics area.”
“I know. Go do your work.” Li Rangnian hung up the communication and lay on his bed, his gaze drifting.
The plot had advanced, and the ending was approaching. The protagonist Alpha and Omega would shine on the battlefield and become heroes of the Federation, while his ending would have to change due to the plot shifts.
But he still couldn’t escape death. Fortunately, he was used to this process and wasn’t very afraid.
A low male voice announced over the headset: “About to jump to Frontier Star B-5213. Everyone, please remain still to avoid physical discomfort.”
The moment the words fell, the freighter jolted heavily. Li Rangnian’s head spun, a strong sense of discomfort welled up in his abdomen, and his throat felt itchy. “Barf!!!!” In the next second, he threw up everything.
The dizziness continued. Some of the tiny blood vessels in his body couldn’t withstand the immense pressure and burst; a large swath of redness soon appeared on his face, and his eyes became bloodshot.
His bones felt squeezed to the point of aching, almost to the verge of fracturing. Li Rangnian gripped the bedsheets tightly, swallowed the nauseating stomach acid that had risen to his throat, closed his eyes, and endured the pain.
Five minutes later, the pressure eased, and the uncomfortable sensation vanished instantly.
Li Rangnian gripped the edge of the bed and vomited again, though this time only stomach acid and clear water came out.
After finishing, he collapsed weakly onto the bed, tears in his eyes and drenched in sweat, his clothes soaked through.
051 felt bad for its host and spent points to exchange for a bottle of energy liquid to pour into him. Soon, the host’s pale face regained its color.
“Thank you, System. Sorry for the expense.” Li Rangnian cupped the small light ball and gave it a kiss, then got up to clean the mess on the floor. Only then did he have time to appreciate the scenery outside the window.
The vast space held countless planets. At every moment, planets were exploding or being born. The resulting light was brilliant and dazzling; from a distance, it looked like fireworks in the night.
The ethereal nebulae were like silk the pink ones were beautiful beyond words. At the end of his field of vision, countless stars flickered, flowing together to form a river, its slowly seeping edges shimmering with starlight.
The freighter they were on was like a small, lifeless fish swimming freely in the vast ocean.
In this space, time seemed to lose its definition.
