- Chapter 17 - The Sickly Alpha Who Sows Discord (Part 17)
During these few days of recuperation, Li Rangnian lived the life of a “rice worm,” having everything brought to him and throwing all worries to the back of his mind.
Initially, he found it strange that the protagonist Alpha and Omega seemed to have made a pact not to visit him. It wasn’t until 051 quietly snitched that he learned the truth: Xiao Jinyun had been secretly throwing away everything they sent. Currently, the trash can was stuffed full of fresh roses.
“Wait, where did those two go? They don’t even come in person to deliver things anymore?”
Li Rangnian touched his own supple, peach-like cheek and sighed dejectedly. “Sure enough, once they’ve had you, they don’t cherish you.”
051 was the first to disagree: [What are you talking about, Host-dada! They haven’t ‘had’ you yet!]
Li Rangnian let out a series of “chi-chi” giggles. During the past two days, he had been receiving daily IV fluids. While he was unable to move much, Xiao Jinyun took on the task of caring for him. Meticulous tasks like clipping nails and peeling fruit were things a clumsy Alpha like him slowly learned to master.
After the doctor finished the examination, he smiled at the two of them. “The recovery is going very well. You can leave after finishing this bag.”
“Thank you, doctor.”
Li Rangnian thanked him obediently. On the side, the Alpha peeling fruit didn’t look happy; instead, his movements slowed down.
He speared a piece of fruit and held it to the beauty’s lips, watching with his own eyes as the other opened his mouth. A snake-like tongue gave a light flick, and as those pearly white teeth chewed, the cheeks puffed out like a fluffy animal.
Xiao Jinyun’s heart turned into a puddle of mush, yet he couldn’t avoid a sense of bitterness. He asked, feigning indifference, “Little Li, can I still spend time with you like this in the future?”
Immediately after saying it, fearing the other would find him annoying, he added, “Don’t worry, I absolutely won’t pester you!”
He would appear when Li Rangnian needed him and leave sensibly when he didn’t just a well-behaved, obedient puppy.
Xiao Jinyun was naturally sunny and handsome. When he stared at someone pitifully, his pupils dilated, looking so endearing that it was impossible to refuse him.
Li Rangnian still had fruit in his mouth. The sweet juice filled his oral cavity, seemingly endless, making his speech sound sticky and sweet enough to melt: “Of course you can. We’re friends, after all.”
“…” Xiao Jinyun stared at his lips for a long while without speaking.
After the IV was finished, Xiao Jinyun escorted him back. Despite dawdling along the way, they eventually reached the door.
A sound came from the doorway. Li Rangnian looked up and met a pair of deep, dark eyes.
The Alpha’s mouth pulled into a slight curve not quite a smile. His gaze weighed heavily on them, casting a warning sweep over the “lackey” standing behind the beauty.
“Brother Qin.” Li Rangnian tilted his head and gave an innocent smile. Those peach-blossom eyes were curved, the clear orbs brimming with a shimmering smile, like the gentle ripples of autumn water. “I missed you so much. Why did you only come back now?”
“You little heartless thing, I thought you’d forgotten about me.”
Qin Yuan naturally wouldn’t soften just because of one sentence, but the expression on his face cleared up. “Come here.”
Li Rangnian didn’t hesitate for a second before throwing himself into his embrace. The Alpha’s large hand swept around the slender waist, pressing him against his chest in a show of dominance.
“…” Xiao Jinyun’s face turned pale. His fists clenched as he watched the door close in front of him.
The dejected man mocked himself self-destructively; what right did he have to stop them?
A dull thud sounded against the door panel. The tall Alpha shielded Li Rangnian’s forehead, pressing him behind the door by his back. Leaning down slightly, he took a deep, intoxicated breath of the other’s pheromones.
Hot breath puffed against the back of his neck, making the gland feel faintly hot. Before things had even begun, waves of pleasure were already assaulting his body.
There was no foreplay; he went straight to the point. At certain moments, this Alpha was terrifyingly direct.
Li Rangnian turned soft and limp. In the next moment, sharp teeth pierced in. “No…” His neck went taut almost instantly. He bit his lip hard and tilted his head back, his body trembling slightly.
So beautiful like a dying swan letting out a mournful cry. Even his fingertips gripped the door panel so hard they turned blue-white.
Even pinned firmly, the tremors of his body could still be felt. Low moans were only squeezed out when he was pushed to the limit pitiful, soft, like a water-soaked sponge that left a hand wet with just a touch.
Ears red enough to drip blood, lips swollen beyond recognition, the small of the back filled with sweat… His entire body was flushed pink. The painter wantonly smeared the pure white canvas, looking down from a height to admire the beauty’s glazed eyes and dazed expression.
How could I bear to hurt someone so delicate? I can only bully him in a different way.
Qin Yuan let out a sigh. His fingertip brushed the beauty’s reddened eye-corner, catching a tear and bringing it to his lips to lick away.
“Sweet.” He smiled, leaning down to exchange a deep kiss with the muddled beauty.
After the thick, wet sounds subsided, he stopped and pressed closer. His eyes were dark, his pupils pitch black focused, dangerous, and exceptionally handsome:
“Little Li, I’ll give you a chance. Either run, or stay.”
The beauty, still drowning in the afterglow, didn’t hear a word he said. He only looked up blankly, subconsciously clinging to the Alpha’s solid back, seeking out the kisses that brought him joy.
Seeing the beauty’s proactive appearance, Qin Yuan revealed his first sincere smile of the day. He leaned in and gave a kiss. “So good.”
“You’d better be just as obedient in a little while.”
Li Rangnian, who had been tossed onto the bed and bounced a few times, was in a daze. Seeing the man lean down to press over him, the nerve in his brain finally connected. His red lips opened and closed: “Wait…”
His limbs were weak; he couldn’t even run. Just as he tried to crawl away, his ankle was gripped and he was dragged back, his entire body crashing into the Alpha’s warm frame.
His earlobe was nipped by sharp teeth. Qin Yuan gave a low chuckle. “Wanting to run now? Too late.”
The night was a whirlwind of passion, like a violent storm battering a small boat on the ocean. The delicate flower was crushed and squeezed of every drop of fresh nectar. Heart-stirring cries echoed in the room all night long.
It was as if a rainstorm had swept through the room from the bed to the desk, the window, the bathtub, and the floor… everywhere were the marks of the wind and rain.
One had to admit that an Alpha’s stamina is truly superior. Even as the “giver,” he controlled the rhythm of the entire situation, moving wickedly while admiring the beauty’s wretched appearance.
By the end, Li Rangnian couldn’t even cry. He sobbed and closed his eyes, falling into a deep sleep, his eyelashes wet and clumped together with tears exceptionally pitiful.
The Alpha nipped his collarbone, finished using the beauty’s hand, and stared at the sleeping face. The heartache he had suppressed came surging back.
“If only Little Li were always this obedient…” But the beauty’s heart was always fickle. Watching his predicament, he insisted on “watching the fire from across the river” with malicious interest. He couldn’t grasp that heart, yet he refused to let go.
How sensitive is an Alpha’s sense of smell? He had smelled the heavy scent of an Omega in the room almost the moment he opened the door, a scent so nauseating he wanted to gag.
In that moment, he understood: Little Li had betrayed him after all. Rage and madness made him want to rush out and kill Shen Yiqing regardless of the cost.
But the moment he saw Li Rangnian, his heart miraculously calmed down. He couldn’t, he must not scare Little Li…
No matter. Only the strong deserve the beauty. He would let Little Li know who the most suitable person for him truly was.
Only after cleaning everything up did Qin Yuan pull the person into his arms to sleep. This time, his heart was full of stability, and his dreams were filled with the colors of spring.
On the virtual screen, the mission points surged forward significantly. 051 watched the data approach the finish line with tears in its eyes.
Sob sob sob, completing the mission is just around the corner. I don’t want to be locked in the small dark room ever again!
The small light ball waited and waited. It was a very long time before it was released, and the light on its body had dimmed.
The survival training was forced to an end. The First Military Academy had discovered traces of Xenomorphs in the Black Mist Forest, which caught the Federation’s attention. An army was sent to blockade the entire mountain range and begin a search.
Due to certain reasons, the protagonist Alpha and Omega were still chosen by the T1 Squad, just as in the original plot. They and other elite students would undergo rigorous military training until the day they were qualified for the battlefield.
Just as Li Rangnian had analyzed, the plot had updated. The “Great Tide” that was supposed to break out during their graduation year had suddenly arrived early.
Xenomorphs had evolved unprecedentedly. Their mucus contained countless regenerative cells; once it touched a wound, it would immediately burrow in and hollow out the flesh, growing into larvae capable of briefly controlling the host’s body.
Every student who had participated in the survival training had to undergo multiple physical exams and scans daily. If any abnormality appeared, they were to be shot on the spot. After staying in this high-tension state for a period of time, the school finally lifted the quarantine and brought everyone back to the Academy.
The situation changed daily. The news from the front was not optimistic, and new blood was urgently needed in the army.
But for Li Rangnian, life remained slow-paced. His constitution was special, and his family couldn’t bear to let him suffer on the battlefield. They had already arranged his path a position in the military department for an easy job in the rear, and a return to the Home Star after a few years.
It was another boring theory class.
Li Rangnian’s collar was pulled up high, covering the lower half of his face and only revealing a pair of beautiful eyes. No one would have guessed the scene beneath his clothes: covered in red marks, with his neck so dappled by Alpha bites that he had to wear an inhibitor patch.
He sat with eyes lowered, focused on recording key points. The fingers emerging from his sleeves were slender and distinct, though the tips were excessively red.
The Omegas sitting nearby were clearly curious about his attire, whispering among themselves.
Not until the noise grew loud enough that the lecturer had to remind everyone to be quiet did Li Rangnian look up toward the sound.
The two Omegas under his gaze turned red-faced instantly, teasing each other. Once he looked away, they couldn’t help but discuss in low voices: “He’s really so good-looking…” Pretty and delicate, like an exquisitely packaged small cake.
Even after class ended and that figure had walked far away, people were still talking quietly.
Just as he turned a corner, his arm was gripped tightly. Before Li Rangnian could even let out a gasp, he was dragged into an equipment room that was usually deserted.
His books fell to the floor with a “pa-da,” but their owner didn’t have the heart to care. He was forced against a shelf to endure a ferocious kiss.
The Omega had been missing him to the point of madness, nuzzling his neck like a dog, itchy beyond belief.
“…Shen Yiqing?”
Ten minutes later, the rhythm slowed down. The kisses fell on his face like a gentle breeze and fine rain. Li Rangnian finally had a chance to see the other’s face, showing an “as expected” expression. “Aren’t you in training?”
“I have a day off. I missed you too much; I couldn’t help myself.” The wet kisses spread to his collarbone, showing signs of moving further down.
The “laboring” Omega’s voice was hoarse and filled with jealousy. He forcefully covered those eyesore marks with his own.
Before coming here, he had fought with Qin Yuan again. Thank heavens for the first time, he was grateful for his status as an Omega, as the instructor only punished him with copying the rules a hundred times, while Qin Yuan was denied leave and given extra training.
“Why are you trembling after just one kiss, hmm?” Shen Yiqing’s hand had already slipped under the hem of the shirt. He smiled at the overly sensitive reaction of the person beneath him and nipped the small earlobe. “What, did Qin Yuan not satisfy you? Do you want more?”
He had intended to flirt, but Shen Yiqing ended up making himself jealous. He gave a cold snort. “You’re not allowed to think of him,” he said, before continuing his wanton movements.
Li Rangnian, whose mouth was blocked the entire time: At least let me speak!
…Being marked again gave Shen Yiqing a strange sense of satisfaction. He touched his slightly protruding abdomen, a hint of warmth in his gaze.
If only I could get pregnant. I’d give birth to a miniature Little Li, so cute.
But it wasn’t possible yet. Shen Yiqing thought of the war, and a shadow crossed his heart.
There was indeed a strong attraction between an Alpha and an Omega. Li Rangnian felt a sense of dependence on the current Omega, allowing the other to hold him, even rubbing his head against the crook of the other’s neck.
“Are you all going to the front lines soon?” The Alpha’s voice traveled up softly, as if he were acting spoiled.
Shen Yiqing’s heart almost melted. He cupped the other’s face and gave him several heavy kisses. “Is Little Li worrying about me? Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon.”
“Who’s worrying about you? Don’t be so full of yourself!” Li Rangnian raised a hand to strike him, but it was caught, and his fingers were kissed one by one. It was all very sticky. “Little Li, next time let’s try a different…”
His volume dropped, whispering into the beauty’s ear. After hearing the words, Li Rangnian’s face turned completely red. He snapped, “Shameless! Who would do that with you…”
It was another kiss so sweet it was cloying. By the time they finished and stepped out the door, Li Rangnian could barely stand steady even while leaning on him. The air in the room was filled with a scent that would make anyone blush it was clear to anyone what had happened.
Li Rangnian glared at him, but Shen Yiqing took it as a flirtation, pestering him into attending a class he didn’t even need to hear. The hard-won day of leave was mostly wasted by him in this manner.
After dealing with Shen Yiqing during the day, Li Rangnian sent the “Plague God” away. He let out a sigh of relief, even humming a song on his way back to the dormitory.
Clutching his faintly aching waist, Li Rangnian reflected on the pain he absolutely had to protect himself better.
In the next second, Li Rangnian’s gaze froze. A slender figure stood downstairs at the dormitory, the back looking exceptionally familiar.
“Little Li!”
Li Rangnian, who had been about to sneak away, stopped in his tracks. He gave a quiet sigh and met the other’s eager gaze. “Brother Qin.”
Qin Yuan carried the chill of the outdoors, his long coat tails fluttering in the cold wind. He strode forward to embrace his only sun, hoping to draw warmth from it.
“I remember Shen Yiqing saying you didn’t have leave. Brother Qin, you didn’t sneak out, did you?” Li Rangnian endured for a moment before breaking free, looking at him suspiciously.
After the harsh training, the Alpha’s aura had become even colder. His already sharp features were more pronounced due to weight loss, making him look exceptionally keen. The arch of his brow bone cast a shadow over his deep, piercing eyes, giving him a powerful sense of pressure.
Yet the look he gave Li Rangnian was as gentle as a vast ocean, enough to drown a person within it.
