Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 70.2
Jiang Siyue had told them that something terrible had happened to Shen Jueshu. And when they saw Sui Yu unconscious in the hospital bed, they were forced to accept it. But deep down, something still didn’t sit right—there was no body.
Sui Yu took a deep breath and continued, “I don’t know where she is. But as long as I’m alive, I won’t stop looking for her.”
Shen’s father stared into her eyes, as if trying to judge whether she was telling the truth.
Whether it was true or not, her words stirred something inside him—a small, fragile spark of hope.
Maybe… maybe his daughter really hadn’t died.
“And…” Sui Yu lowered her head again, gently resting her hand on her belly. “I don’t want our baby to grow up never meeting their mother.”
Shen’s father’s expression froze. He looked shocked, and his voice trembled as he asked, “You… you’re pregnant?”
Sui Yu looked up at him, surprised. She had assumed he already knew.
“Yes,” she said, nodding. “It’s her child and mine.”
Shen’s father suddenly grew emotional. He quickly helped Sui Yu up from the floor, his eyes flicking toward her belly, clearly wanting to look but restraining himself out of respect. In a trembling voice, he said, “Good, good… a child can’t grow up without a mother.”
Things had been so bad before—maybe that was why Jiang Siyue and the others didn’t dare bring up anything extra in front of them, which led to them not knowing about Sui Yu’s pregnancy.
Soon after, Shen’s father insisted that Sui Yu return to her hospital room and rest. He, on the other hand, stayed by Shen’s mother’s side, excited to tell her the good news as soon as she woke up.
Back in her hospital bed, Sui Yu felt an overwhelming exhaustion take over. She forced herself to finish a bowl of porridge Jiang Siyue had prepared for her, and then fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.
No matter what, she needed her strength if she was going to find Shen Jueshu.
She slept for hours—so deeply it felt like night and day had blurred together. When she finally woke up, it was her growling stomach that roused her.
“Hungry?” Jiang Siyue said, hurrying to her side as soon as she saw Sui Yu’s eyes open. “Auntie will be here soon with food.”
Sui Yu gently waved her off, insisting on getting up by herself. After washing up in the bathroom, she returned to the room—only to find Shen’s parents already there, holding multiple food containers.
“You need to get enough nutrition now. You can’t neglect your health,” Shen’s mother said, her voice a little hoarse. Her eyes were red with emotion as she looked at Sui Yu.
She had woken up that morning to her husband’s words—first shocked, then thrilled. Their daughter might still be alive, and now they had a grandchild on the way. She couldn’t wait to see Sui Yu, but Shen’s father had made her rest a while longer before coming.
Unable to sit still, Shen’s mother had gone home to make soup. With Shen Jueshu gone, it was their responsibility to care for Sui Yu in her place—especially now, when she needed nourishment more than ever.
Looking at Shen’s parents, Sui Yu’s nose stung with emotion. As she drank the soup Shen’s mother had carefully prepared, her tears silently fell into the bowl.
She didn’t want to cry—but just seeing them made her chest ache.
“Don’t cry,” Shen’s mother said, rubbing her head gently. Though she was trying to comfort Sui Yu, her own voice was thick with tears.
Sui Yu sniffled. Even though she was starving, she didn’t have much of an appetite. But thinking of Shen Jueshu—and of the child inside her—she forced herself to finish the soup, and even ate a bit more afterward.
No matter what, she couldn’t let the baby suffer.
Seeing her eat gave the others some peace of mind.
Over the next few days, Shen’s mother personally made soup and home-cooked meals for Sui Yu every day. Once Sui Yu’s condition began to stabilize, Shen’s parents suggested that she move into their home so they could take better care of her.
But Sui Yu shook her head. “No, Mom, Dad. I can’t wait any longer. I need to go find her.”
Her voice was steady and filled with determination. Now that she had regained some of her strength, she couldn’t sit around any longer.
Shen’s parents were clearly worried, but in the end, they didn’t try to stop her.
“I might not be reachable for a while,” Sui Yu said softly, her tone calm but serious. “But don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.”
She knew that once she began her search through different worlds for Shen Jueshu, she’d lose contact with this one for some time.
“If anything, urgent comes up, you can go to the Sui family estate and find Uncle Li. He can help pass messages to me,” she added thoughtfully.
After hearing what she said, Shen’s parents still didn’t quite understand why she’d lose contact while searching for someone, but in the end, they chose to believe her.
“Take care of your health,” they said, gently reminding her.
Sui Yu gave them a soft smile, but it no longer held the warmth it used to. It was as if something inside her had been hollowed out. All that remained was a fragile shell, stretching her lips into a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.
Thanks to Li Jiang’s management, the company had stayed in good order. Although people were still quietly speculating about what had happened to Shen Jueshu, no one dared to ask questions once they saw Sui Yu return safe and composed.
Sui Yu also met with Fu Xin again. She looked at the woman in front of her, forced a small smile, and asked, “Why did you save me that day?”
She had always assumed Fu Xin would rather see her dead.
Fu Xin glanced at her—at the much thinner Sui Yu—and shrugged. “I’m not as heartless as the rest of them. If I had a choice, I wouldn’t hurt people at all.”
Working under Ding Qisi, it wasn’t like she had any freedom to refuse orders.
This time, Sui Yu gave a genuine smile. “I’m sorry,” she said sincerely. “I want to apologize for how I treated you before.”
Fu Xin froze for a second, caught off guard by the unexpected apology. After a moment of awkward silence, she looked away. “No need. We’re even. I lied to you too.”
“If you ever need my help, just ask,” Sui Yu said softly.
Fu Xin gave her a complicated look. “You’re really going to look for her?”
Was this woman crazy? Did she even understand how many different worlds there were?
“Yes,” Sui Yu nodded, her voice steady, eyes glowing with determination. “I will find her.”
She had a feeling that Shen Jueshu was still alive, waiting for her somewhere in a different world. And she believed—deeply—that she would find that world.
Fu Xin took a deep breath. Yep. This woman was completely insane.
“…Add me,” she said suddenly. “I’ll be traveling through different worlds doing missions. I can help keep an eye out.”
She couldn’t believe she was actually offering to help. Had she really started feeling guilty?
Sui Yu’s eyes lit up. She thanked her sincerely, and the two of them connected through the system.
Once everything was in place, Sui Yu looked down at her belly and whispered, “Baby, Mommy’s going to find Mama now.”
There were countless worlds, and she didn’t have a single clue where to start. So, she chose to begin with her own reality. The world was massive, and just searching one of them could take a lot of time.
Sui Yu began traveling across the world, searching everywhere—she even went as far as Africa. But there was no sign of Shen Jueshu anywhere.
Still, she refused to give up. After confirming that Shen wasn’t in that world, she crossed it off her map and moved on to the next.
A month passed. She had already traveled through more than twenty different worlds, but she still hadn’t found anything. Meanwhile, her belly had started to show—just slightly—a quiet reminder that the baby was growing.
“You’ve had it tough,” Sui Yu murmured, gently rubbing her stomach. “You’ve been with me this whole time, following me from place to place… But maybe you know Mommy has something really important to do, so you’ve been so well-behaved.”
Three months later, she made a brief return to her original world. Everything was still running smoothly. Sui Yu transferred all her shares in the company to Li Jiang, giving her more control at the board level. She also returned to the Shen home.
When Shen’s parents saw her return alone, they understood immediately what that meant. They didn’t ask about Shen Jueshu. They just told her to take care of herself and not to push too hard.
Sui Yu could feel how hard they were trying not to pressure her. Her nose stung from the overwhelming emotion. To have met Shen Jueshu—and to be accepted by her family—she felt incredibly lucky.
