Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? - Chapter 70.3
By now, the baby was over five months along. Maybe it was because of Sui Yu’s naturally slim frame, but when she wore loose clothes, it was hard to tell she was even pregnant.
Perhaps it was because of her pregnancy, but Sui Yu’s susceptibility period never returned. However, instead of feeling relieved, the thought of it always made her nose sting and her eyes brim with tears.
She no longer had to endure the pain of her susceptibility. But what about Shen Jueshu? She still had to suffer through her heat, again and again.
After staying at the Shen family home for a week, Sui Yu set off once more, continuing her search. She entered world after world, full of hope each time—only to be met with disappointment. Again and again, that cycle of hope and heartbreak made her feel as if fate was playing a cruel joke on her, constantly pushing her to the edge between gaining and losing.
She searched for Shen Jueshu for a very long time—so long that, in the end, her body couldn’t take it anymore. Only then did she return to her original world, where she gave birth to their child.
On the day the baby was born, Shen’s parents, Li Jiang, Li Yi, and the others all came. They waited outside the delivery room, everyone so nervous that their bodies were tense and stiff. No one spoke—they just stood there, silently waiting for the door to open.
In the midst of that tension, time seemed to pass unbearably slowly. They didn’t know how long they had been standing there. But finally, the doors opened, and everyone’s face showed the same dazed, almost unreal expression.
“Mother and daughter are both safe,” the nurse said. “We’ll take the baby to be cleaned up. If anyone’s available, you can come with us.”
Hearing that, Shen’s father—since it wasn’t appropriate for a man to go check on Sui Yu just yet—followed the nurse to see to the baby. The others went in to check on Sui Yu.
Seeing her lying there so pale, Shen’s mother’s voice caught in her throat. “You’ve been through so much,” she said, eyes full of tears.
As they all entered the room, Sui Yu gave them a faint, tired smile and said softly, “Shen Jueshu didn’t lie to me. It really didn’t hurt that much.”
Her body didn’t hurt—but her heart did.
In that moment, she wished more than anything that Shen Jueshu could be by her side. She wanted to see her, to feel her presence. But when she opened her eyes, nothing had changed—Shen Jueshu still wasn’t there.
Sui Yu fell asleep after being moved back to her hospital room. Later, Shen’s father brought the newborn in and placed the baby gently beside her. Looking at the small life curled up next to the exhausted mother, even Shen’s father’s eyes reddened. He turned his head away, unable to look for long.
Jiang Siyue leaned on the edge of the bed, watching the baby sleep soundly with her eyes closed. “She looks just like her mama,” she murmured.
So small, with barely-formed brows and lashes—it was hard to say where the resemblance was. But somehow, she saw it.
Li Jiang placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and gently rubbed it.
When Sui Yu woke again, only Jiang Siyue was by her side. Seeing her stir, Jiang Siyue quickly explained, “It’s late. Uncle and Auntie are getting older, so I asked them to go home and rest. Li Jiang and the others went out to buy you something to eat.”
Sui Yu smiled gently. “That’s fine. Thank you.”
She turned her head to look at the baby lying next to her. Her little face was flushed red, sleeping so peacefully and sweetly.
Sui Yu’s gaze softened. This was her and Shen Jueshu’s child. In those delicate features, she could faintly see the shadow of Shen Jueshu.
“Ayu,” Jiang Siyue asked cautiously, “have you thought of a name for her yet?”
Sui Yu blinked, momentarily stunned. Only then did she realize—she had never even thought about that.
Was this woman insane? Did she even understand how many small worlds there were out there?!
“I will find her,” Sui Yu said firmly, eyes shining with determination.
She had a feeling—Shen Jueshu must be waiting for her in one of those countless worlds. And she knew she would find that world eventually.
Fu Xin took a deep breath. This woman really was crazy.
“Let’s exchange contact information. I’ll be traveling across different worlds doing missions anyway, so I can keep an eye out for her while I’m at it,” Fu Xin said, half in disbelief. Had she actually started feeling guilty for deceiving this woman earlier?
Sui Yu’s eyes lit up. She thanked her sincerely, and the two of them used the system to establish a connection.
After everything on this side was settled, Sui Yu looked down at her belly and murmured, “Baby, Mommy is taking you to find Mama now.”
There were thousands of worlds out there, and she had no clear direction. In the end, she chose to return to her original world. It was vast—searching just one world would already take time.
Sui Yu began appearing across the world, searching everywhere—even as far as the African continent—but she still didn’t find a single trace of Shen Jueshu.
She didn’t give up. After confirming that Shen Jueshu wasn’t in that world, she marked it off on her map and moved on to the next.
After a month, she had already been to over twenty different worlds, but still found nothing. Meanwhile, her belly had started to show—a soft curve that proved the baby was growing well.
“You’ve worked so hard,” Sui Yu whispered, gently stroking her growing belly. This little one had been traveling the worlds with her before even being born. Somehow, the baby seemed to sense that Mommy had something important to do and rarely made a fuss.
Three months later, Sui Yu returned briefly to her original world. Everything was still functioning normally. She transferred all her company shares to Li Jiang, giving her more authority in board meetings. She also visited the Shen family. When Shen’s parents saw her return alone, they understood what that meant, so they didn’t ask about Shen Jueshu. Instead, they just told her to take care of her health and not overwork herself.
